  1. I've been wondering this as well and have been hesitant in leveling on all 8 slots on the servers I play on.
  2. Agreed It really doesn't take *that* long to get from one point to another in the fleet, and there's nothing more annoying than someone's big boat of a mount when you're trying to use the mailbox or GTN.
  3. How would he know that when BW can't even be bothered to update the Community News posts on the the website? This game has the worst Dev communication I've ever seen.
  4. The servers are back up. Dunno why the employees at BW haven't updated/removed the notification about the downtime yet.
  5. Most of the people complaining aren't complaining about patches adding new bugs. The majority of people complaining are doing so because they are the ones being punished every time an "emergency" fix needs to be put in. 2AM CST - 6AM CST is the prime playing time for a large number of players, the *only* playing time for many. Everyone recognizes that the game needs scheduled maintenance, and most everyone understands that the servers will be down once a week. That's fine. The problem, however, is that when one of these "emergency" problems is identified, instead of immediately fixing the issue, BW waits until 2AM CST to deploy the fix. So those same people who put up with the weekly maintenance are subjected to unwarranted downtime for fixes that are important enough to bypass the weekly schedule, but not important enough to disrupt any other group of players. If these "emergency" fixes are so important, why aren't they immediately deployed?
  6. Many of us appreciate the fact that BW is taking the time to fix bugs in a timely manner and getting patches out. What some of have issue with is the timing of these patches. The one tonight is apparently so important that they had to push it before the next scheduled maintenance window. If that were truly the case though, why can it wait until 2AM CST? If it were truly that important and fixes something so game-breaking, why wait at all? Why didn't they patch it as soon as they coded the fix? That's what a lot of us are frustrated with.
  7. My issue with this whole "emergency" patching fiasco is this: If an issue is serious enough that you feel the need to patch on a non-patch day, then why isn't it serious enough to patch as soon as you've solved the issue? I mean, if your developers fix an issue and it's *so important*, why not just fix it right then? If it can wait until 2AM CST, then why can't it wait until next Tuesday? If it were truly so game breaking that you can't wait til Tuesday, then roll it out immediately, even if it's 10AM CST, or 6PM CST.
  8. They already said they're going to improve the LFG tool: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=1502055#post1502055 about 8 posts down
  9. aim to misbehave http://acandidworld.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/mal-reynolds.jpg
  10. and people wonder how so many mmo players get "hacked"
  11. I think they should do it based on the amount of posts a player has made to the forums in favor of merges.. Example: if 2 players have the same name and Player A has been posting to the forums saying how he/she supports merging servers, Player A should lose the right to that name since he/she has already mentally weighed the pros/cons of merging and has actively contributed to the decisions made to screw up the game for so many other players. If there are guilds that have the same name, then they should tally up the number of pro-merge posts among all guild members and make the same decision.
  12. This is why there's still so many trolls here.. you people keep falling for this garbage.. That and BW is too busy locking/deleting legitimate threads..
  13. no the only redeeming thing about synthweaving and armormech are the fact that you can actually make some credits selling crafted orange belts and bracers.. please don't petition to take away the one thing those crafters have left..
  14. This was funny the first time it was posted to the forums in the beginning of Jan. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=120645
  15. wouldn't surprise me if everyone from Robot Chicken plays..
  16. Mortified.. really? Maybe you need an option in game that switches the Sith racial social ability from punishment to rainbow fart?
  17. 10-50, but otherwise, yes.. Many people have done it and they're usually the ones complaining about a lack of story in the game..
  18. I'm trying to figure out why you guys are even arguing about this.. The devs already said they're adding a new LFG tool.
  19. maybe things are worse than anyone thinks and BW can't afford to hire people to moderate when there's maintenance going on?
  20. They've been putting info about exploit fixes in almost every major patch note. I understand that they can't describe, step-by-step the process of an exploit in their patch notes, but how hard and how revealing is it to write: "Fixed an exploit" in the notes of these "emergency" fixes? I mean, the thing they're claiming they fixed isn't even fixed.
  21. it was 6 and a half hours... and they didn't even fix what they put in the notes.
