  1. Actually, I would say that we are in agreement. We just differ on the details . This is the "crux" of the matter. Was it intended by Bioware that the "46's" have the effect they have at "end game" or is it just a "by-product" of the bolster design? Until Bioware comes out and states that using "46's" at "end-game" is an exploit, it will remain something that can be done. After all, is a player that is level 45 (the minimum level to use "46's") using the "46's" in his gear and PVPing exploiting the game?
  2. Just a small aside on whether something is an exploit or not. Something is an Exploit when: 1) The game publisher says it is an Exploit. 2) It is clearly against the game design. Let's start with an exemple of "2" (since it is easier). Imagine that there is a spot on the map that you can get to that makes you untargetable/immune to attacks but still allows you to attack and kill others. This is an "exploit". An exemple of "1" is more complicated. Normally, the game publisher will deam something an Exploit when there is a "gray area" associated with it. Normally, it will be something that is perfectly doable in the game, doesn't break any mechanics, doesn't require anything out of the ordinary *but* it does cause something to be "cheesed" or completed in a fashion that was not intended. It is normally called "creative use of game mechanics" and in this case the game publisher has to decide whether it is an "exploit" or not. All of the above to state that using the "45 blue mods" to bolster your stats in warzones falls into this "creative use of game mechanics" area. It is a perfectly valid thing to do, because what happens is supposed to happen due to the "game rules" in effect. It will only stop being a valid thing to do when Bioware stats that it is an "exploit" and that it should not be done.
  3. One additional tip to new players in Lost Island. There is a "lore item" inside the flashpoint. When you get to the first recording you need to listen to for the bonus, right opposite it you will see 3 kolto tanks (the "recording" is on the left side as you enter and the kolto tanks are on the right side). The first kolto tank can be interacted with and will give the lore entry. Note: there are no mobs near the kolto tank in question. If you are looking at a kolto tank with mobs near it, you are looking at the wrong one .
  4. Yes. It still happens. Mostly as noted when there is a transition to a cinematic while you are moving (although it does happen in other situations). This works to solve the problem when it does happen.
  5. Not exactly. There are a number of armors that use the same model, and you may be able to, with some experimentation, find a dye that reproduces the appearance you are looking for. Good luck.
  6. Just to add to this... Once you have equipped ALL the pieces of a set on ONE character, the set will not only be unlocked in Collections (as mentioned above) but you will also be able to claim a full set from the Collections screen on the character that unlocked it without paying to do so (great for equipping your companions in the same gear as you; also a great way to obtain a "second" one-hand weapon in case you can dual-wield and want a matching set of weapons). This is a great way to confirm that a set is "unlocked" in the Collections and ready to be made available "Legacy wide" from another character (as noted above). NOTE: Anything you claim from the Collections screen is automatically "bound" to the character claiming the item(s) and so cannot be mailed to another charater.
  7. Yes... basically... It falls into the same realm as accussing: - Juggernauts/Guardians of hacking because they are not knocked back after a leap - Sentinels/Marauders of hacking because they entered stealth - etc, etc, etc...
  8. 8 level 55s. Finally decided to get Treek on my Juggernaut. Kitted her out in the level 53 purples you can purchase on the GTN. Have her in her Healing stance. O.M.G. Since I got her, I just plow through solo content. She just flat out beats Quinn as a healer. Fights not only go faster because she does great DPS, but she also heals better so I normally end fights (even complicated ones) at 90+% health. She is so good, I've already unlocked her on my lowby Guardian and geared her with mods bought with commendations. Can't wait to level the Guardian . Only complaint? As others have stated, she is definitely... chatty... TL/DR: Treek is definitely worth it in my opinion.
  9. My Sith Assassin was Dark all the way with no intention of ever getting "married"... Then I started levelling Ashara's affection and talking with her... before I knew it my Assissin's whole outlook had changed and I was "married" to her... I even turned off showing corruption and have slowly started to move to the Light... I don't what it is about Ashara, but she just... gets to you...
  10. I can confirm that it happens. I often run friends that have just hit level 10 through Black Talon/Esseless using a level 55 character I have that has the same class (so that the drops are all for their class (generally speaking )) and they indicate that they only receive 1XP per mob that I kill. Recently I did the same but with a level 22 toon (friend was on a level 11 toon) and my friend indicated that he was getting slightly less XP per mob than when he ran it with others of the same level but that it was pretty close to what he had been getting before.
  11. A little bit, but if the level difference is only 10 (or so ) then it won't be a big hit. On the other hand, if you are currently 10 or so levels above the Flashpoint level you: 1) Won't be able to queue for them using the Group Finder. You will have to "manually" get a group together or join a group someone else is forming "manually". 2) Will be able to solo them . Being 10 levels (or so) above the level of the mobs means that most of their attacks will be missing you, and if they do hit they won't really hurt you. If you are a DPS or Tank simple go with a healing companion (you might be able to get away with using a DPS/Tank companion on the trash though). If you're a Healer, just go in as you have been levelling (Tank companion, or DPS for trash and Tank for Champions). Have fun.
  12. I read a suggestion a while back that was very interesting. Basically Bioware could release a "head" that: 1) has a "hood down" graphic. 2) hides the "current" hood (like many helmets do today). This would be a great solution. It would: 1) enable the "hood down" feature on current robes. 2) color matching would ensure it "matched" the robe. 3) it could be used with any chest-piece a player felt could use a "hood down" look
  13. Do the following: Press "Quote" on the first post you want to "quote". Press CTRL+A to select all the contents of the text box then press CTRL+C to copy it. Press "back" on your browser. Now "Quote" the second post you want to "quote". Click at the end of the "quoted text" and press CTRL+V to paste what you copied in step 2. Repeat steps 2 through 5 as many times as needed until you have "quoted" all the posts you want. Hope that helps.
  14. Regarding the roots (or lack of ): Force Charge has a root attached to it (that you can increase with the Stagger talent) and Overwhelm (tier 6 Talent) will root the player for the duration of Ravage. Displacement (a tier 4 talent) will also allow Deadly Throw to root the target for 3 seconds. Additionally, while not a root, Crippling Slash (that you get at level 16) will slow a target by 50% for 12 seconds (that's 12 seconds! ). It can also be reapplied at will and only costs 2 Rage. As for having Push on the Juggernaut. When you use Push it resets the cooldown on Force Charge allowing you to use it again... keeping you in melee range... Again, stick with the Marauder. You'll "click" with it soon enough.
  15. Mobility... Let's see: Predation. At level 22. Consumes 30 Rage and provides 50% speed increase *AND* increases melee/randed defense by 10%. Defensive Forms. 1st tier Talent. Increases movement speed in Ataru form by 15%. Unbound (Fleetfooted for Sentinels ). 5th tier Talent. Removes movement-impairing effects and increases the movement bonus of Predation by 30% (to a total of 65% Predation speed). I can understand that "right now" you don't get the class. But, the tools are there for your use. Read your ability tooltips. Think how they can be used . If you need to SURVIVE do what you need to SURVIVE. If you need to DPS do what you need to DPS. You mention your other classes. I've played them all as well. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. You've learned to play with them. You'll learn to do the same with the Marauder. Stick with it. The utility/survivability/damage are all there! You just need to "click" to the class. Don't give up .
  16. You get: Saber Ward at level 4. Increases melee/ranged defense by 50% and reduces damage from Force/Tech attacks by 25%. 12 second duration. 3 min cooldown. Rebuke at level 10. 20% less damage and reflects damage back to attacker. Can last up to 30 seconds. 60 second cooldown. Pacify at level 26. Reduce target's melee/ranged accuracy by 90% for 6 seconds duration. 60 second cooldown. In the Combat tree, you get: Defensive Forms: increases your speed by 15% in Ataru form. Defensive Roll: 30% less damage from AoEs. Fleetfooted: Using Force Camuflage has a 100% chance to clear movement-impairing effects and increases the movement speed bonus of Transcendence by 30%. Saber Screen: Ataru procs will increase defense by 2%, stacks up to 3 times (for a total of 6% defense). Ummmm... what was it you were complaining about again?
  17. Here you go: Class Specific Random Drops - TOR Fashion - http://tor-fashion.com/random-drops/
  18. I don't see them launching a "new" class or a "new" advanced class. But who knows, they might allow "changing" your advanced class (inside the base class, naturally) if they increase the level cap .
  19. They might. Also, remember that even though an item is listed at a particular price, it doesn't necessarily mean it sells at that price. The GTN is a buyer's market, after all. Monitor the ones on your GTN and you'll probably notice that the same seller (sellers?) are always listing it/them. Contact one of the sellers in game and make an offer you can live with (I won't teach you how to haggle ). You can probably get one for much less than it's listed.
  20. For a really cheap option, check the Weapon's Vendors that exist on every planet. They all sell a "green" moddable vibrosword (you'll see what I mean). (Note about these moddable vibroswords: they disappear when sheathed on your back (old bug, personally reported many times, issue still exists).) I would also check the GTN. I personally like the look of the "Custom-built Vibrosword". (Just to make you really jealous: I was lucky enough to buy a "Cathar Honor Sword" really cheap when they first came out. Still using it. )
  21. Wow. Talk about convoluted! Still got the tune on loop in my head...
