  1. I disagree with removing Level Sync. If anything it makes it more realistic. Skill and power in almost every MMO has always felt out of wack. There power difference between a level 12 and a level 60 is completely unrealistic. Before level sync a level 55 would be able to return to the starting planets and would be a god to anything they encountered. In many cases they are facing Sith/Jedi or skilled mandalorians who would be slaughtered by the slightest cough of a level 55. Now when you return to these planets you still outmatch everything in almost every way but it doesn't seem like you are a god among ants. Level Sync is awesome.
  2. There is a very big problem here. Many people like myself and the OP play this game with Friends / Guildmates /Family and the shift in the game ever since SoR has been towards removing all elements of MMO out of SWTOR and making the game KotoR 3. Don't get me wrong I am enjoying the story of KotFE but for this to be an MMO Bioware should have focused on allowed groups of up to 4 to play through it. They could have maintained the story while tweaking areas to make it group friendly. The way it is now me and my wife are going to play through the story once on one set of characters and then probably go back to WoW or another MMO that we can play together. This is exactly what we did with SoR because every 5 feet was a personal phase and it was annoying playing with someone. We have spent a huge amount of Money on Cartel Coins and spent hundreds of hours leveling together. SWToR is an awesome game but the game is gonna suffer in the long one if they continue to make only single player story content.
  3. One VERY Simply thing that would have made KotFE (and Shadows of Reven) awesome would be to allow you to quest with a group of friends through the content. Story Content is awesome and I think everyone agrees its the best part of SWTOR. We want to live and breath in the world and not experience the game through boring texted and fetch and gather quests like other MMOs. However what is not fun is being forced to do entire mini expansions solo. It would not have taken much more time to allow you to do this content in a group and not have to shift to a personal phase every 5 minutes or in KotFE case for the entire 9 chapters. My wife is very demotivated to play through KotFE more than once cause we can't experience it together. We loved playing through every story line together. We always played different classes so that we could join the other in their story mission and still experience it even if they were making all the choices and the cut scenes revolved around them. We had planned to come back to SWTOR for the next 4-6 months while waiting for the next wow expansion but I don't see us staying that long if all their is to do is solo 10 characters through a few hours of story content.
  4. Level sync to me is more realistic then not having it. In every MMO I have played it just feels odd to get so powerful you can smite things with no effort. Take Operation or Flashpoint bosses that story wise are somewhat formidable foes but at level 60 they are pieces of tissue paper you can sneeze your way through. Take the Bounty Hunter boss from The Essless or his troops of Mandalorians. It doesn't make any sense that they should be so powerless to a high level player as to make them seem like toddlers. At least with level sync you can be very powerful but it still feels like you have to exert some force to beat down your opponents. I also enjoy that I can return to almost any area and still gain experience if I say wanna return and do a bonus mission area.
  5. Its most likely an oversite that doesn't have an easy fix. depending on the stage you abandon the quest chain determines if you can pick it up again. If its not inside an instance you can go snag it again. Otherwise you can try grouping with someone on that stage of the quest and chances are you can repick it back up once inside.
  6. If you have some extra cash to lay down on some good speakers I would recommend these Logitech Surround Sound Speaker System Z906 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004M18O60/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have always ran High End Speakers and these are by far some of the best I have used (Right up there with the Logitech Z5500 that they no longer make) I have owned a few creative labs sets and my most recent Klipsch Pro 2.1's were downright bad. BTW I have these speakers arranged with the rear speakers at the corners of my best (L Shaped Desk) and they work really well as more or less side speakers rather than rear. I was able to re-position them inside my Audio card Settings to better align the surround sounds as well. EDIT: Just reread your post and I totally glossed over your 100eu limit. I bought these for my wife and she is very happy with them Logitech Speaker System Z623 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAHYTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They has a much better bass than I was expecting for this price point. She listens to her music on it and doesnt have any complaints. Good luck with your search!
  7. As long as there was a chance to catch up with the system. The one thing I didnt like in CIty of Heroes is that they added a new Perk every month and so if you stopped subscribing for one month you were always behind in the current rewards. I would like to see a vet system that allowed for someone to catch up over time. For example Bioware could start out by releasing 2 Years worth of Veteran awards right off the bat. Say a new reward for every 3 months of paid subscriptions. Then going forward add 2 additional rewards per year. This allows people to catch up slowly if they are a new player or for a veteren to take a break and be able to catch up when they come back. Example Add 8 rewards right off the bat for 3,6,9,12,15,18,21 and 24 months of subscriptions (Back dating of course) Then every 6 months add a new rank going forward. This new rank would still be at a 3 month interval to earn. Someone could basically catch up 2 ranks of rewards per year until caught up.
  8. The reason being is that you suggested $10 for a price of a new class. Bioware has already added a new Race and gave it a price which was 600CC for Cathar. We can assume that if they were to add a new class they would do so via the market and not as some sort of paid expansion (Since SWTOR is free to play) I think that $10 for a class would result in very little content being added for said class and would probably amount to simply a re-skin of a current class. I would be willing to pay expansion price for an unlock that provided expansion level of content such as a complete new class If Bioware were to add a new class at minimum they would need 1) New Voice acting Male/Female for both 2) a completely unique storyline from level 1-50 3) be different in many ways from current classes. (I suppose adding a Imperial Trooper and SIS agent would be acceptable if done right tho.) To bring down development costs there are several places they could save. 1) Reuse two of the Player ships (They already do this for Sith and Jedi) 2) Have the new classes start on already existing starter planets. 3) Have Treek (Or Treek Clone) and HK (Or HK Clone) be Companions to lessen the amount of new unique companions to Add. Point is that if they only charge $10 there is a chance they will do the minimum or worse. You asked If I was willing to Pay $10 for a new class. The answer is Im willing to pay much more for them to do it right.
  9. I wonder how much it would take for Bioware to release a new Class. Cathar Cost 600 Cartel Coins which is roughly 14.99 for a Race While that is much much less labor intensive I would think that for perhaps 2000 cartel coins would be appropriate for a new class. Just make it an unlock. Include with an expansion and charge 2000 Coins which would be $49.92 (Calculated by the subscription price of $14.99 = 600 coins with security key) They could even reuse Hutta / Ord Mantell for the starting areas and just add Class missions/ companions. Heck even reuse say the BH / Trooper ship layout. Just some ideas to add to a good thread!
  10. I have no doubt that Asus would have taken care of me. However since my wife didnt like the size and weight I decided to just return it to Amazon and get the MSI. Don't let me scare you from Asus tho I love most of their products. I currently use Asus Motherboards exclusively and I did really enjoy the design of the Asus Laptop.
  11. The Asus one I got her originally was the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZ8BJNK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It looked awesome but was very big and very heavy. My wife wasn't comfortable with it. However it would have been fine but it starting having issues reading DVDs and after 5 days stopped charging. Pretty crazy to have two distinct issues right out of the box. Going back to the MSI my wife also loves the Multicolored Keyboard options with regards to lighting. Its just overall a nice laptop
  12. I bought an MSI Laptop last christmas for my Wife and she loves it. It plays SWTOR with all settings maxed easily. Here is a link to the one I bought http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CU9GM06/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had originally got her one of the Asus ones and had multiple problems with it so we replaced it with the MSI and it is great.
  13. Oh man that datacron has haunted me since you almost always see it when leveling. I have never managed to get it on any toon but that doesnt stop me from trying time and time again! Good luck getting it!
  14. The lack of response from Bioware is not because of apathy or because they are getting a share of the profit. Its the fact that The virtual currency business is a multi-million if not billion dollar industry when looked at as a whole across all games. It was a problem in 2001 when I worked for Sony (Everquest) and they fought tooth and nail against IGE/PlayerAuctions/Jonathan Yanits ETC. Guess what they are still all in business today because there is very little that can be done to stop them. The secret to stopping gold/credit spam is to take away the demand... And that isn't going anywhere. People want credits now more than ever and I don't doubt prices have gone up in the last week. Bioware and Blizzard and most others do try to minimize the impact of gold sellers by securing accounts ( in 2006-2008 hacked accounts made up a vast majority of gold sellers supply) Thanks to authenticators thats much less of an issue. Of course Bioware could simply start selling credits directly. That would stop gold selling in its tracks for the most part. However this didn't work to well in Diablo 3 and I doubt it would work in SWTOR. What Bioware can do is try to control the automatic ways gold sellers acquire gold. Botting. They need to randomize spawns of chest or lock them with the keys dropping from NPCs. Even then tho Gold sellers will evolve. Sorry to carry on I just get tired of people blaming Game companies for gold sellers. It isn't going away.
  15. Bound to Legacy is a must I totally agree. On the removal of the timer completely. I would like to see this because it would actually cause me to spend more on the Cartel Market. There are a lot of times I think about only buying something to resell because its hot at the moment but then I think "Eh don't wanna wait 36 hours" If there is an issue with Hacked accounts and instant CC purchases being an issue then maybe implement a Pin number or something that you have to use like a ATM Pin number to get items with no timer. That way if your account is hacked the hacker wont have the pin and can't use the Cartel market and if you opt to not use a pin they have the current 36 hour wait period. Thoughts?
  16. I played SWG from launch up until Rage of the Wookies and the NGE. I agree Exploration and the ability to place your home almost anywhere was awesome. Having Big guilds that basically set up an entire town complete with Quests player stocked merchants and such was epic. SWTOR would greatly benefit from a more open world to explore on each planet. I know thats a pipe dream but SWG was so massive maybe even to massive per planet. What bioware could do is release other areas of current planets that you simply choose to goto from the Orbital station or from your Ship. Also with regards to GSF they really need to implement a PVE option for it. Basically Evolve the On rails Space missions with Free Room GSF PVE missions. Perhaps even group options for 2-4 other players. Space is a very unused portion of the game right now and it should be on par with the normal ground game for a MMO based on Star Wars. I loved the launch SWG and I am currently really enjoying the 2+ year post launch SWTOR.
  17. Something is definitely wrong with the server I have hovered from 41-60 in the queue for over 20 minutes. Its like they lowered the server capacity or something.
  18. My largest complaint is that to many options are linked together. Makeup linked to complication Jewelry linked to tattoos etc. More options would also be extremely welcome as well
  19. Same! I have a beast of a rig and lag and load times still show up. Sli'd Titans Raid 0 830 pro 512s and a 3930K clocked at 4.7 IT really tho doesnt take much to be able to max most settings save for the shadows and play really good. But your never going to get near instant load times or anything like that.
  20. Since I missed the Star Cluster packs the first round I went ahead and snagged three Hypercrates. Picked up a Rancor and ton of armor and other mounts. 4 Color crystals. Pretty happy with it. Plan to by a couple hypercrates on those older packs. Its pretty cool they are releasing them in some capacity again.
  21. I didn't realize there was a limit of 22... I currently have 19 characters and can see me hitting that limit before long.
  22. Most of the Ultra Rares from this current market we have plus everything in the Club verticas. (Excluding Crystals. over 100 Packs opened and neither of us got 1 crystal.) Now thats rare! We have a ton of extra stuff that will at some point go on the GTN. In one Hypercrate my wife got 2 walkers and from the acquisition packs I have picked up a ton of set armors that are valuable including Revan's which I am deciding between selling or using.
  23. Between my wife and I we have spent close to $1,500. We tend to overdue it when something new comes out. We bought a few hypercrates of the Club Vertica packs when they came out and such, and don't get me started on the damn Acquisition and crystal packs. Like Crack candy those are. (Got a revan set tho so it was totally worth it). As long as we are having fun with what we spend I don't mind supporting SWTOR in this manner. I kinda wish there was some sort of Micro-transaction market for Diablo 3 so I could support them more so the developers of that game would add more resources to its continued development.
  24. This exactly. Outside the Questing path its pretty baron. and once you have done 1 imperial to 50 and 1 republic to 50 doing it again is roughly 85-90% identical. Less so if you choose to play as a different alignment. Also Bioware needs to redress most of the Flashpoints to make the more like the first two. After those the rest are very bland in comparason. SWTOR is by no means a bad MMO. I have no doubt it will get better but there are some serious flaws in content that do make lack of content a valid point for many people. Just my opinion.
  25. Also if your finding your companion or yourself seemingly more squishy try unequipping all your gear and reequiping it. my Wife and I were getting rocked in Heroic 4s and I attributed it all to nerfs from 1.2 until I read on another thread that some gears stats were not applying correctly after the patch and reequipping gear would fix it. After we removed all our gear on both our toons and our companions it was a night and day difference. we completed the Heroic 4 without any more deaths.
