  1. Not a fan of running Pyro with IGC. I do switch to IGC if the situation calls for it (like if I get the ball and waiting in front of a fire pit), but I will switch back. Also, if you're coordinated with your group enough. You can set up aoe on the guarded healer and his tank (carbonite into DFA). This will do an extreme amount of damage to the tank, then just swap over and kill him off with a cc on the healer or continue to pressure the healer and use the shared damage to finish the tank.
  2. You can switch two points from Intimidation to Rail Loaders since our fire damage is not that much.
  3. It's normal. Just bad games and good games. I frequently queue solo and top the chart nearly all the time. However, i can't really win the game by myself even with all the numbers I pulled. One thing I can suggest is to bind target's target and target nearby friendly for a fast switch guard. My average with parakeet is about 250k damage/50k protection 10-12 medals. PS: I switch guard constantly and fast depending on who's getting attacked, their HP, and number of enemies. There's no point of guarding someone not taking damage even if it's your healbot. Also, cancel your guard when you and your guarded target get bombarded by aoe.

  5. To quote your original post, you wanted to run parakeet with CGC: Which is why I replied if you want to run with CGC, go pyro. You lose the shield chance to activate shield vents flame shield for not using ion (therefore losing damage with extra RPs and heat). The only time you're using CGC is when you're DPSing in PvE.
  6. Then you would be better go Pyro than Parakeet. This build is a hybrid tank set up.
  7. I agree with those two classes especially the ones that specializes into dot. Against them, they just dot me up and run around LoSing and healing themselves.
  8. Parakeet uses Ion as the main cylinder. We put points in CGC because we have to in order to reach Superheated Rail. In the words of original creator Dekai, we didn't "waste" the points. We "invested".
  9. PvP or PvE? PvP, thermal detonator is the backbone of burst damage for Pyro. PvE, you can skip it since it reduces your sustained and overall dps.
  10. Damage wise, it's still behind parakeet. Heat wise, you only gain the free rocket punch while parakeet still has superheated rail (and Gyroscopic Jets). More survivability? I don't see that, at least with your build. Only thing I like with this build is the 6 sec Quell + Jet Charge combo.

  12. You use Eliminator head, boot, gloves, and leg. For chest, use combat tech.
  13. 4 pc Eliminator with combat tech armor medic weapon/belt/bracer Eliminator earpiece/implant Heavily on crit to beef up even more the amazing burst of Pyro.
  14. Carolina Parakeet is a tank hybrid build, not a dps build.

  16. I just switched my set over to heavy crit instead of 4pc eliminator + supercommando off pieces/weapon. My set up currently is 4 pc eliminator with combat tech chest, medic bracer/belt/weapon.
  17. Not optimal for leveling btw, so pick tank or dps and go with either shield (tank) or pyro (dps) til 48.
  18. Ya, I've thought of this. HO made a great huttball carrier if you can utilize the resolve.
  19. Enemies can be some a-hole and save their knockback/snare/root or use other cd (force speed to run away, energy shield to tank the dmg) when you prepop it. If you use it for the sprint after a knock back, you can eat a stun and force to trinket or waste the cd. It's not a bad skill. It's just pale in comparison to the awesome jet charge.
  20. Jet Charge is still an awesome skill. The armor boost from Ion is around 15% dr to kinetic and energy which is huge (plus another 5% dr). I guess the shield chance is there to proc our core abilities. The survivability is still noticeable between using Ion Gas and other cylinder.
  21. The Carolina Parakeet is a hybrid ST/Pyro build and is a very known spec in this board. They synergize with each other pretty well given if you can get passed the point that you "waste" three talent points into CGC talent.
  22. I feel like you need to talk about Resolve as most don't know how to utilize it in PvP.
