  1. I'm dipping out til this gets sorted. So much for the delay from December, lol.
  2. Her name is Sam Maggs. She was a writer for the Mary Sue, and that should tell you all you need to know about her. This is a hard pass for me, I don't care how pretty the remake is. G Bioware. Keep burning your studio down. Edit: She is on record as saying she HATES KOTOR, lol. Go figure.
  3. Update: I deleted my original SWTOR from my PC, and went and installed the Steam version. Works PERFECTLY.
  4. Another one with the Download loop issue. *sigh*
  5. I've been with the game since launch, and this is by far the worst change I've seen. Alot of us don't have the time to sit and wait in queue all night. If a match that you've waited for is a loss, it's TIME WASTED. You get NOTHING from it. When I saw that my games weren't counting, I initially thought it was a bug...but nope. Nothing is counting unless it's a win. Also, I queue SOLO, as I don't have any friends who PVP. SWTOR PvP has one of the WORST reputations. Within MINUTES you'll have folks crying in Ops chat about something, then quitting. Once that happens, GG. You lose and you've wasted your time. So my interest in PVP and GSF went from high to NON EXISTENT. I don't PVP anymore. Overnight. Just like that. GG Bioware. There are ALOT of Solo players out there, like me. Heck. Just LOOK at all the begging that goes on PvP and Gen Chat on Fleet for people to Queue for regs and solos. From people like me, where we once would say "okay I'll queue solo/regs"? All they hear now is crickets.
  6. Back in the day, City of Heroes introduced a "Mission Architect" system, that was a sort of "create your own dungeon/story arc"...complete with maps, customizable(written) dialogue, event triggers, and chapters...and customizable ENEMIES...objectives, that opened up other objectives and plot points...ALL PLAYER CREATED CONTENT . I played many of these custom stories, and they were VERY WELL WRITTEN, and FUN. There are some great stories on the SWTOR RP forums out there, that are well-written, and have alot of thought put in them. Not a bad idea, but maybe make it a "kiosk", where players would craft their "custom heroic/FP/Epic story"(including a "difficulty rating...ranging from 2+...to NM!) then upload it into the kiosk (located wherever...most likely fleet)... There are some good writers out there who play SWTOR, and who are avid Star Wars fans who know the canon and lore...it would be neat to see what they could do! Just an idea
  7. I recommend checking out noxxic.com. A great, basic guide (stat priority, gear, talent build, etc). Using a Naga makes everything, as the above said, so much easier. I run a Med/Lethality Hybrid, so I can have my Corrosive Dart/Corrosive Grenade DoTs, along with Cull, and give BHs the ability to have their Rail Shot available almost constantly. Using the raid frame and simply clicking left button, then the mouse button to heal works wonders, as mentioned above. I also use the quickbar swap function, wherein my first bar and second bar house my most important functions. Using the "E" button bound for Quickbar Swap from QB1 to QB6 makes everything easier.
  8. I have to roll with this for my Agent... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBU-5kXIqHo
  9. I am constantly rotating my Kolto Probes x2 on all my teammates, so I can get TA up at all times for the free heal (Surgical Probe). Never understood why some Operatives use stealth to get to a goal... I only use stealth as an OH ****! getaway... More than anything, Energy Management. This is the most important thing I have tried to impress upon other Operatives in a WZ. Use Defensive CDs only when you need to. Keep Kolto Probe up on everyone, and keep moving!
  10. Yes. Bring the BM Gear back. Some of the BEST LOOKING GEAR IN THE GAME. If anything, get rid of the Valor rank (60) requirements.
  11. I have a Medicine/Lethality Hybrid spec, so basically I just run with everyone.
  12. Exactly. Kolto Probe, will spark that TA, and bam! Surgical Probe. And now with the addition of a 3rd TA, and the fact that you can have two KPs on everyone on your team (especially in PvP) is the one single advantage that I use to great effect. That TA constantly popping up is really nice My rotations are KP x 2 on all players Stim Boost Kolto Injection x 2 (if needed) On a single target with three Opponents: Kolto Infusion + Surgical Probe A group: Recuperative Nanotech + Kolto Probe x 2 on Each Surgical Probe or Kolto Injection as needed. Toxin Scan: Fast, and slotted in Med tree will grant a heal along with the removal of Negative Effects. Good stuff. Looking at some of the PvP forums, it seems that a majority of the posts regarding Operative Healers run towards the "They are OP" line of thinking. I don't think we are. I think we deserved that healing boost for Recuperative Nanotech. And knowing how to utilize your energy and watching your teammates' health closely is something I do constantly. I see someone dropping in health quickly, if I'm not in range, I'll bust my butt to get to them.
  13. So as an Operative Healer, if I'm following you and right when you hit the fire trap I drop Flashbang, would that be considered 'gimmicky'? And if you broke out of that, and I hit you with Debilitate and the flames take you, would that be gimmicky? No. It's playing smarter, not harder. As many said in this thread, it's using the environment to your advantage.
  14. If anything I try and rally the team. I'm a pretty upbeat and laid back guy, and when someone says 'Sorry about that' I shrug and say 'All good. Let's rally and push East y'all!". Fail or not, I try to make sure the team is having fun. Had an incident where one teammate went on a rant about how much we sucked...to which I replied "Lighten up, man. It's only a game. Maybe you should try knitting. Less stressful". Shut him/her up(can never tell in an MMO), made the team laugh, and we came back to within a close margin of winning in NC(Ending score was pretty close). Regardless, I got a bunch of whispers saying "that was funny, dude", "you're attitude is awesome!", and from the rager "sorry man. I'm just stressed out." At any rate, I treat others as I would want to be treated. A positive attitude can change the team. Trust me
  15. More often than not I have great matches when either myself or someone says "Okay, here's what we are going to do"... "If you see someone stunned, don't break it. Find another target." Calling out who's a healer helps. You see them, and you are at 50% health, run to them. They'll get you back to full in no time Using Slows, like Sever Tendon, helps greatly as well. More often than not, I try to emphasize not killing unless absolutely necessary. Focus on capping nodes/passing by using your non-lethal abilities can be the turn around the team needs to come back Basically great matches, whether you win or lose by a small margin, are those that you will remember. And more often than not, the other team will remember you and what you did(I do ), and look forward to teaming with you if different faction Most important, a great game is all about having fun, and not taking it too seriously. There are times where you will get annihilated, times when you do the annihilating. Good days and bad. It happens
  16. Concealment PvP is a joke. Miss the old days...but ya'll listened to the whiners and nerfed Concealment not once, but TWICE. ***? O.o Healing PvP is amazing. Damn near unkillable with a constant rotation of TA's popping for Surgical Probe to drop Lethality PvP needs alot of work.
  17. I agree completely. Apparently, the devs are going to nerf some relics too. I have a Campaign Relic that cranks out a 400 to power, so now Lethality/Concealment Operative is USELESS. While I can Heal, my guild is now flush with Operative Healers. Its basically this now: OPERATIVE HEALER SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY ROUTE TO GO. As for BHs, I am pained by this as well. A few PTs/Mercs in my guild have decided to leave the game, and go play something else. QUOTE from a Guildmate: "F*** this. Tired of having crappy players whine and cry and I get punished." With so many nerfs going on, ESPECIALLY with PLAYERS SKILLED ENOUGH TO CREATE SKILL TREE HYBRIDS, the Devs seem intent on PUNISHING GOOD PLAYERS so that MEDIOCRE TO BAD PLAYERS IN PVP CAN WIN. So yeah, buddy. I feel ya
  18. As Cybertech, I was lucky enough to have enough mats to crit on Purple Sensor Units, Cores, Motors, etc. I did go back and do some Heroics where you can grab Orange Parts for her. After that, I simply took the time while questing, PVP, Raiding, etc. to do some crafting for Armoring/Mods/Earpieces, etc. While most are simply Armorings/Mods that I either crafted, or bought with Daily Comms, I have used SCORPIO to great effect. When we get HK-57, for you Cybertechs Out there, start crafting those DROID PARTS. I am thinking they will sell nicely(especially if you crit and they have an Augment slot )
  19. If this is the petition thread for Agent chuckle, then YES. PLEASE Return our diabolical laughter. Great for TA que, and awesome for when you take out someone in PvP hehe
  20. One thing I noticed, is that NO ONE COMPLAINS when that person is queued with a very good, well known PREMADE team.
  21. Not a whole lot of Operatives go Lethality, but this is where you see the effectiveness of Corrosive Dart/Corrosive Grenade. I roll with a 7/3/31 Lethality Build and love it. You can burn someone down, in both PvP and PvE, rather quickly with this Mobile DPS build(you move around alot). The Lethality tree is where you see Corrosive Dart Shine, as time is extended on the ticks. Adding the Imperial Brew from Concealment increases its damage(of course). Hitting someone with Weakening Blast, then Corrosive Dart, then Corrosive Grenade, hit them with a Shiv, then tag them with Cull(Lethality tree shot), drops the opponent's HP rather quickly. In PvP, they will take notice, as some PvP Healers have told me, hehe ("Thos DoTs Suck!"). In PvE, I once saw my Dart tick off twice with 691, then followed by 2031 and was kind of shocked, and wondered if it was a glitch. Tried it out again, and the numbers continue to show that over 1k with one tick is absolutely possible(based on Crit/Surge numbers). So is it worth it? Absolutely
  22. I've read the notes. Sad, really. I guess some were complaining again that they were getting wrecked by Operatives with Concealment, cried, whined, etc. I played the Concealment for a little while, as I started out as a Medicine Spec'd Operative. Didn't see what was wrong with it, honestly. Also, they forget that Operatives are 'burst damage', hit hard, fast, and run away. Like a cheetah, Concealment Operatives cannot last long in a prolonged fight going toe -to- toe with a Juggernaut/Trooper, as they simply can outlast them b/c of sheer HP. A shame. Really. I feel for you Concealment Operatives. Nerfing the Concealment(AGAIN) will make a ton of Operative Healers, as Lethality is RARELY used.
  23. I started out as an Operative Medicine Spec, and played around with variations based on whether it's PvP or PvE. Operative Heal spec is worth it. Trust me. I tried Concealment to 'change things up', and while fun(both in PvP and PvE), I have always played support types. I would play around with the various abilities the Operative Tree has, mix and match, etc. For my lvl 50 Operative, I went with a 'burst healing' build, 25/9/7, which works well in PvP and PvE(at least, for me ). What Gear you have will play a role in your healing, so check your armoring, mods, enhancements every so often to make sure they are up to par with your character(you probably already knew this, but I didn't when I first started out, and had the same concerns as you, hehe). With 1.2 coming up, you will see recuperative nanotech getting a much needed boost, as I rarely use it when on Operations or Flashpoints. Keep the Surgical Probe running with Kolto Injection and Kolto Probe. Also, TA is the Operative's best friend (putting 2 points into Incisive Action will guarantee Tactical Advantage is granted). Also make sure you have Endorphine rush, as it will grant a good amount of much needed energy, my friend. Also, Crit, Surge can be an Operative Healer's best friend. Overall it is really up to you, my friend. Play around with it (each Tuesday you can Respec for free! ), see what you like. Most importantly, have fun! Remember, this game is only a couple of months old(hard to believe, I know), but look for improvements across the boards with each class/spec.
  24. Had the same issue on my Operative...I knew he would be tough, but I just kept at it. For me it was a matter of 'finding the sweet spot'. The strategy I used (for those of you who are playing Operatives) was this: When on top of Jadus (take a deep breath! ), shoot him, then IMMEDIATELY drop a Flash Grenade, then pull back. Jadus will come to you. Get Kolto Probes going when you see Vector at 3/4 health. Use Vector, and keep Kolto Probes, Kolto Infusion, Tactical Advantage going. Watch your energy, too! When Jadus uses Whirlwind on Vector, I IMMEDIATELY dropped a TOXIC SCAN on him, which shut down the CC. He then gets Jadus' attention. I forgot I had it, and decided to give it a shot. Works! And it recharges fast! Also, pretty much the ONLY real damage weapon I used was Corrosive Dart(It's Your Best Friend! ), and Debilitative Knife. I am speced with Moderate Medicine/first tier Concealment/Heavy Lethality. I'll drop a grenade on him, then Shoot occasionally with Charged Shot. But most of my time was spent using Adrenaline Probe, Stimulant, and Kolto heals on Vector....and, hehe, getting in the 'cheap shots' by running up on him and stabbing him a couple of times. But for the most part, LET VECTOR DO HIS THING. That light armor freak can crank out some damage, and is QUICK. Rough, yes, but doable. That's how I did it. See you all in game! Best, Kalon (pronounced Cull-Lone) Operative, lvl 33 Lord Adraas Server
