  1. I agree. I can honestly safe that EA is behind the decision imho. The tone of their conference call seemed to be nothing but "How do we make da most monies now that TOR is a miss"
  2. Except no where did I say LA was the sole force behind shutting SWG down. It was a mutal decision backed by several reasons. You have been trying to tell me SOE made them shut down SWG and that they wanted to keep it going. That is not true.
  3. I fixed that for you. Enjoy yourself. I'll be playing both.
  4. Rift has a small but profitable subscriber base and Trion isnt money hungry. WoW has millions of subs. Tera was just released and is doing fine as is.
  5. http://games.slashdot.org/story/11/07/11/219257/why-soe-decided-to-cancel-star-wars-galaxies http://tagn.wordpress.com/2011/06/24/star-wars-galaxies-to-close-in-december/ Also, woohoo F2P. Can't wait for it and all the goodies etc and coins.
  6. SOE physically shut the servers down, you have that correct. LucasArts did not renew their license so that the SWG players would go to TOR. SOE has said this, and LA has said this. That article is four years old.
  7. Uhh. No. LucasArts did not renew their license because of TOR coming out. SOE wanted to keep it going.
  8. You'll be finding out within the coming months.
  9. I too bought a new PC for this game, and here I am still playing it after being a beta tester and playing through head start. I won't lie and say this game doesn't have glaring faults, but the mentality of this community, like so many others, seems entirely too entitled. Bioware gave us exactly what they said they would, a story-driven MMO. Now they're trying to change it up and give the players what they want and it isn't going so well. EA is a terrible gaming company and I know Bioware is also to blame for some of it, but the sky isn't falling and this game is still here and moving forward. If you feel all hope is gone, then by all means click that X in the top right and be done with it. Good day, and sorry for being a douche bag.
  10. They mentioned customizable gear and convenience items as well, according to the FAQ.
  11. Unless I mis read something, that's all the TOR item shop is.
  12. Welp, I'll still be remaining as a subscriber and I love this game so I have nothing to worry about really. I'm excited to see what happens in the future.
  13. That's what I thought at first, but if that was the case then I don't think they could have had
  14. I was actually saddened to learn that KoTOR II did not play as huge of a role in this game as the original did. Bioware seems to have almost completely ignored mentioning things that happened during it. I was highly dissapointed when I read the Revan book and found out her true fate, because she was my second fav character in the kotor series.
  15. I guess Gnost will be dissapointed when I tell him Revan wasn't the one who turned the war against the Mandalorians in the Republics favor, practically the moment he took command. Revan was a master tactician and strategist and his battle precognition helped him greatly, which is also another reason why he was such a skilled lightsaber wielder. If I remember correctly both the Mandalorian and Echani cultures revered his tactics. Not to say that Kenobi wasn't a great tactician either.
  16. That missile ***** on his head would def seal HK's fate.
  17. Revan is a tactical genius. I don't see why he would fall into Soresu's trap of letting your emotions get the better of him, like Anakin did. That's how Soresu works. An impenetrable defense that wears down your opponent until they become angry and frustrated and begin making mistakes. Dooku was losing his cool very much so in their last encounter.
  18. A lot of people don't like Starkiller because of how he was implimented into the greater SW story, ontop of how over the top his Force abilities are portrayed. To be quite honest, that's how I wish the Force had always been portrayed because it makes the SW movies and everything else seem tame.
  19. You are correct. Obi wan was THE master of Soresu during his time. He was literally capable of wading into blaster fire and deflect every single shot sent his way. He was able to easily defeat Grevious in their last duel, and was able to surprise Dooku and go toe-to-toe against his Makashi mastery. I don't think there's any statement of what lightsaber forms Revan used or mastered, but he's been seen using one and two lightsabers. Revan's own feats with his lightsaber prowess include slaying two Terentateks at once. In an era where there were multitudes more Sith and Dark Jedi, Revan single-handedly slew many dark Jedi and went on to face and defeat a supercharged Darth Malak, someone who had been considered one of the greatest duelists in the galaxy at the time. Not only that, but he also faced and defeated Mandalor the Ultimate. Obi Wan might have been THE master of Soresu, but I believe Revan's acomplishments with a lightsaber are just as great, which is why I say it would be a toss up.
  20. That's fine then, but the only quote I used from her was the heart of the Force statement and still doesn't discredit Revans ability.
  21. I am not going to discredit Revans mastery of the Force just because you say it's the general consensus that she's a liar. I don't see why she would lie about Revan anyway. Your argument does nothing to discredit Revans ability with a lightsaber either, but I feel it would be a toss up. Revan accomplished great feats with his lightsaber prowess, as did Obi Wan.
