  1. A large number of the items you listed are already in the game and either have been since launch or were rotated out as new designs came in. Pretty much every weapon you mentioned in/was in-game, just not in as much detail as seen in the cinematic. I know this because I had all of those weapons at one point before they made adaptive gear the norm and thus 90% of the gear became moddable. The same goes for some of the armor. Granted I assume since you are adding the "reforged" title to many you know they exist and are asking for more detailed/ updated versions and even some based on the concept art as opposed to what we were given in the game (Nikko's armor for example). I mean, I had the same armor as Darth Vindican YEARS ago and while I don't have access to the same color pallet, I have an armor set in my collection that is the same model but in different colors. Heck, even the original Darth Revan armor set is based on Darth Vindican's outfit. The appearance options are on point though.
  2. I was thinking something similar. I mean, unless they make these dyes redeemable through collections, making them limited time seems counterproductive. You are going to have whales spending tons of real money (probably what the company wants) to buy a bunch of these items. They will hold on to them until after January and then put them on the GTN for astronomical prices continuing to screw up the economy of the game.
  3. Here is my take on it, As of 2020 (couldn't find newer stat totals), the total gains from datacrons looked like this: Mastery: 214 Endurance: 72 Presence: 68 Source: https://forums.swtor.com/topic/904218-datacron-stat-boost-for-collecting-all-datacrons/ So if those numbers have not changed significantly since then, unlocking datacron boosts via cartel market won't have much of an effect on anything. PVP is the only place where P2W matters anyway and one of those stats is useless in PVP as it pertains to companions. While I am against P2W mechanics, this doesn't FEEL very P2W to me. As it has been pointed out, CM/ collection crystals are available at level 10 with the same stats that used to be reserved for level 50 endgame gear. The only real change to the datacron system was when they changed the "ACSW" system to "Mastery" and what was four separate bonuses for each of the four archetypes became a "one size fits all" stat and thus merged the bonuses. To me, even if the collective bonuses were 300/100/80 or something similar, it wouldn't have such an effect that a seasoned PVPer couldn't get around, especially given all the balancing mechanics in place and how most PVPers probably already completed the datacron set specifically for those bonuses. All of that being said, I don't see a point in making datacron unlocks part of the cartel market. The boost you get from them is only really useful at the beginning of the game, my main who doesn't even have BIS gear, sits at 14k Mastery and 18k Endurance, the datacron boost would be negligible added to it. Also, if you want the achievement, go earn it, that is why it's called an ACHIEVEMENT.
  4. What is there to pre-order? expansions have been free (for subscribers) for years and since all the Cartel Market items are digital it's not like you have to worry about them running out of stock.
  5. Thank you @Ominovin and @Nee-Elder, I'll look into that next time I am online and see what happens.
  6. So, as the title says I am a returning player and need a refresher on something. The other night I decided to run a FP with a Juggernaut alt I started and while I am spec'd for DPS, the only gear I got was for tanks. Now, maybe I am misremembering how the loot system was set up, but aren't FPs supposed to take the current spec (DPS/Tank/Heal) into account?
  7. Maybe you'll see this, maybe you won't either way, you still care enough to continue to respond to randos on the internet. So your actions betray your words and it does indeed appear as if you care that others read your post, you are just mad that everyone isn't falling in line and clamoring to support you.
  8. the problem is that there are no real places to spend a large sum of credits outside of the player market and unfortunately that is how we have the inflation rates in-game that we do. While it may not make much of a difference for long-time or hardcore players, it does effectively create a barrier for new and F2P players. Hell, I have been playing off and on since Beta and I have never even reached a billion credits because I don't have the time (or interest honestly) to routinely farm the same content or get into crafting. I also highly doubt I am the only person like this.
  9. That is kind of Ardrosson's point. 7.0 was supposed to coincide with SWTOR's 10th anniversary back in December but was split up into different parts that were pushed back by 2 and 4 months respectfully. SWTOR is so far behind that what other games are doing should be irrelevant to them. They need to focus on getting back on track.
  10. False. You spent enough time thinking about it to respond to them twice. If you didn't want to deal with internet forum randos giving their two cents, you shouldn't have come onto the forums to begin with. Or at least ignored your thread unless you got a response from Bioware.
  11. That's not the way it reads though. The way they explain it is if "John Doe" is taken, by having the legacy name "Doe" your Legacy would override the system so you could name your toon "John Doe" giving it the full name of "John Doe Doe" and by hiding the Legacy name you would get "John Doe" Even if your Legacy name is "Doe" but "John" and "John Doe" are taken, that's it. Without finding who has the name and convincing them to give it up there are ZERO workarounds to get "John Doe" as a character name without modification of the spelling.
  12. I don't think that is how that works, otherwise, we wouldn't need to reformat how we create certain character names. The legacy name has no bearing on whether the system allows your particular name. If it did, when servers merged and my toon named "Jarood" got moved to a server where someone already took that name, I wouldn't have had to change it to "Ja'rood"
  13. Casirabit actually DID answer your question. While playing with toys, in general, are not against the rules, harassment IS. The scenario they gave is pretty much the definition of harassment since the act of leaving the immediate area is a clear sign they are not interested in interacting with you. Not saying that is what happened, it's just an example of what the moderators would consider harassment. If you were targeting people at random or the players sitting at storage or GTN then they would likely consider what you are doing as in the spirit of toy/game. or at least not harassment since those are locations where EVERYONE gathers making them terrible places for RP. Kind of like the real world's reasonable expectation of privacy.
  14. and again, the game engine has nothing to do with getting a new class/combat style. There is a difference between the engine being able to support a specific combat style (FYI, it can) and the devs having the funding/time/ability to do the coding and animations.
  15. If this game ever shuts down, our character data is toast. No company is going to spend money to have a new game be similar enough to a 10+ year old game to allow the transference of ANY data. Do you have any idea how expensive that would be? Plus, by doing that they would lose out on some of the money that would come from players buying new cosmetics.
  16. That could work from a combat style standpoint, but the name would never fly. As previously stated, you can't have a Republic character who is an "Imperial Trooper." All current combat style names are neutral, even the dark and light sided force styles lack a faction-specific name. You could call that style Infantryman or Rifleman or something like that.
  17. What do you mean by "Imperial Trooper?" You can already play the two Imperial Tech-based stories as a Commando or Vanguard. If you are thinking they will add a new origin story, you have misunderstood what is meant by "class" under the new system. Otherwise, I'm not sure what an "Imperial Trooper" combat style could bring to the table beside an emersion-breaking name when used on a Republic character. As for the idea of the Tech-based Vibroblade user, definitely, a possibility since there are multiple blade-based abilities already in-game and we see NPCs using Vibroblades all the time.
  18. I agree, especially since most of the new non-story related companions (humanoid, droid, and creature) are all account unlockable via the collections screen for a nominal CC cost. This goes for Treek as well.
  19. Except ESO isn't F2P like SWTOR is, you still have to buy the game. You also don't get access to ALL the content, just the major expansions. The DLCs, like Dark Brotherhood, have to be bought separately either with real money or their premium currency or you get access by subscribing. If you don't buy the DLCs and your subscription ends, so does your access to the DLCs. The difference between ESO free accounts and their sub accounts are similar to SWTOR in many ways as well.
  20. Yes, a Sentinel is a Sentinel regardless of the story you are playing through. Being a "Knight" or a "Consular" now has nothing to do with your class or how you play the game, just the story you experience while going through the first three chapters.
  21. Only Subscribers can choose a second combat style. The only thing being an existing character has to do with it is that you CAN NOT change your primary style. So a Pre7.0 Jedi Shadow will stay a Jedi Shadow and Trooper Commando will stay a Commando. Tech characters can choose ANY tech combat style at character creation or as your second style from the get-go. Now, with Force Users, if you want a Jedi to have a Sith class and vice versa, you have to have reached Light and Dark 5 to unlock the Light and Dark achievements on a previous character. The exception is if your character has NOT completed Chapter 3 of the Origin Story. As you complete chapter 3 you get the opportunity to swap to the opposite alignment class if you have been making the corresponding choices. Jedi Shadow can change to Assassin if you have been making Dark Side choices throughout the story. Keep in mind that this only applies to the character completing chapter three. You MUST get the Light and Dark V achievements to unlock the opposite classes for new characters and as a secondary style for any toon that has passed Chapter 3. Also, to switch styles in the field, you must unlock the "field respect" perk on each character's legacy perk screen for like 200,000 credits. Otherwise, you have to be in a cantina or other "safe zone" like your ship.
  22. Yeah, I just started a new toon, and while on Coruscant I saw the box to get the "intro to group finder mission" along with the droid that gives the "intro" quests for Hammer Station, but guess what? I can't do group finder missions because I'm only level 21 and Hammer Station is still at Veteran difficulty. So what is the point of either one if a new character can't run the missions? They would have been better off doing daily lockouts for FPs than this mess. At least new players/characters could play the content the game offers quests for before they reach endgame.
  23. Now THAT is a legitimate issue because it is a bug that could crop up with ANY of the quests that we have untracked for any reason.
  24. These are all of my major complaints with the new outfit system as well
