  1. How did those several posters get the idea i wanted this to be WoW when i clearly stated it being like LoL was what i hated. It kills me how dev teams are afraid to be original because they are trying to copy the success of the killer of the MMO world
  2. Yeah, i never thought id long to get back into the NGE...but after playing this game, id love to go collect some bounties on some spies in restuss..

To me, this game just looks like WoW with a cheap star wars skin, i dont understand how they had EA and Bioware style budget numbers, all the time in the world, and couldnt come up with anything more original than stealing WoW's terrain style, warzones, and ranked gear tokens....i guess i just expected more in every way lol.
  4. After playing SWG from launch until NGE pretty much daily, and then from NGE until shut-down somewhat sporadically i always looked to this game as my next constant home. I saw that the developers were taking their time, that this game was in the pipe for several years longer than average and that we had guarantees of great space content and "amazing pvp" to quote the dev team. Now iv shown up, grinded my sentinel to 50 and to decent gear, done the PVE and PVP instances until they are no longer interesting and entirely ran out of reasons to log in by mid January. (not to mention the space reminds me of star-fox for nintendo 64 far to much for an MMO)As a pvper i knew this game wouldnt be the best in that regard, but i expected more than this, maybe me and the rest of the unhappy base just had far to high of expectations. Idk. As i head to cancel my subscription i am truly disappointed at what could have been.
  5. I joined this game with about 50 close friends from SWG, and 5 or 6 RL friends who were somewhat into gaming. I myself quit shortly after winter quarter started up at OU, and iv returned to find all of these people either entirely inactive or gone from the game completely. Is the game losing a lot of players? Or is there just a lot of turnover from new people who enjoy the game more refilling those who have left? I wonder if its worth it to re-up when noone i play with is coming online.
  6. if marauder/sentinel (I play sent) was really that good, and there wasnt an issue, we wouldnt see every warzone being entirely full of sorcs and bh's

This isn't a thread for ************, or complaining (though im sure there will be a lot of it) about the state of world pvp in this game, but id just like to get some others opinions on how you believe the state of PvP outside of war-zones is progressing. Personally iv never been a fan of the "instanced pvp" set-up, always loved taking a group of organized players in vent against larger odds in different cities or combat areas and attempting to win, but i just dont see to many opportunities for that in this game. It seems other than the three extremely repetitive warzones and the enlarged version of "Red Rover" on Ilum PvP is non-existent, and im having a hard time finding the want to log in and finish my gear up (especially considering i hit the cap on expertise before i even had full champion lawl). Others feel the same way? or am i missing interesting battles happening on other planets i dont know about? Or maybe the Dev's were more worried about content we all space bar thru than actual pvp?
  8. It is rather weak, our second saber is what makes us unique so it is very disappointing ( to at least me personally) that its quality doesnt play a bigger rule in our overall viability.
  9. All the calls for massive changes to sentinel are going to go un-answered, and i dont think the constant root/CC'ing is a sentinel issue, its a game issue. To me personally if your alright at your class you can do pretty good damage as im in the top 1-3 total damage of 90% of warzones. However, for sentinel to be viable in the end game PvE and PvP instances we really need to do more than "pretty good" damage because a ranged DPS class can fill our rule better than we can. So i see the need for change as follows 1) Take away the massive gimp on our secondhand saber, its what makes us unique, let it make us more viable. 2) Let the 30 stack centering movies (Transcendence) remove roots/CC when used. With those two updates, i think we'd be a pretty sweet class.
  10. Does the development team at any point plan to make the other two trees for Sentinel even remotely viable? Or if your not interested in doing an entire expertise overhaul maybe you could just take away the massive gimp on our offhand sabers so our damage makes up for our lack of tanking/healing/cc/group usefulness?
  11. I agree, the whole class in itself seems to be missing a niche. Its not a tank, not a healer, and some of the other classes who arnt all that much more squishy than us do far better dps. Not sure that sentinel is going to be an in-demand class for the high end zones.

  15. I think at the end of a the day a decent player on a Sentinel is likely to lose to a decent player on a Commando, or any ranged dps. With comparable skill level, gear, and situational advantage a Sentinel will still be at a major disadvantage because of his/her tool set. We need some type of ranged snare/stun or pull move, and a tweaking of our dps set up and we'd be set.
  16. First time on the forums, was playing my Sentinel today wondering if anyone else on my class felt this way, i guess they do. Our class seems extremely shallow, if we are purely dps as an above poster said, shuoldnt our dps be above and beyond others? Because its not, my level 16 Bh out-does my level 24 sentinel easily, plus he has heals, is ranged, and has a great CC function
