  1. I level by doing 10-15 levels as a tank and then swapping to dps and then swapping back and forth as I leveled. This leaves me with some familiarity of how to effectively dps or tank as an assassin.
  2. I am not really sure what you responding to on that first paragraph. Nothing in my post makes any assumptions on how much resources would be required to do anything. I am not saying it does or doesn't justify the resources, because saying that would require me to prove one way or the other. I am simply saying that it should benefit the game enough to justify the resources if it is added, and that statement needs no data to substantiate it. My statement leaves it up to Bioware to identify what benefits the game enough to justify being added. If you followed my previous posts, I said that the statement about how the game is doing as a minor point. I do not debate minor points that have no impact on my overall point, so we'll just say that you guys are right that the game is doing better than Bioware ever expected it to do and there have never been any financial issues or subsrciber that may have halted or postponed previous plans. That has no impact on my statement that they should only add content that would benefit the game enough to justify the addition. As far as what I personally support, yeh I don't support content addition that doesn't benefit me. It is the same reason that I don't support space combat. I personally have no use for it, so the next expansion will be useless to me. However, what I personally support matters very little when I follow it up by saying that it doesn't bother me if they add stuff that benefits the game. I take it that they decided, based on some kind of data, that adding space combat would be good for the game and worth the resources. I imagine that the space combat expansion will bring in money and new subscribers, and ultimately it will lead to them being able to add stuff that I like. I am fine with that. My view on space combat and my view on same sex content are identical, so no there is no homophobic bla bla bla as you stated. How long you have been around it completely irrelevant. If you say I said something that I didn't, I am simply going to call you on that and not respond. That isn't a productive discussion, so why not respond to what I say instead of tailoring it to be something inflammatory that is simple enough that you are capable of responding to it? Just a heads up. There are a couple of people that are responding directly to what I say instead of restating it into something else and then responding. I'll continue to respond to them. If you continue to morph my posts into something else and then respond, you won't get a response next time. If you followed my previous posts, I said that the statement about how the game is doing as a minor point. I do not debate minor points that have no impact on my overall point, so we'll just say that you guys are right that the game is doing better than Bioware ever expected it to do and there have never been any financial issues that may have halted, postponed, or changed previous plans to add certain content. That has no impact on my statement that they should only add content that would benefit the game enough to justify the addition.
  3. Nothing in what I've written proves your rewrite of my post to be accurate. What is so hard about responding explicitly to what I say instead of rewriting into something that is inflammatory and easier for you to respond to. Just responding to what I say would make the discussion much more productive. I never said it doesn't benefit the game. I said it should only be added if it benefits the game enough to justify the resources. Determining whether it does or does not isn't my job. You are saying that adding this will bring in more lgbt subscribers and cartel market spenders. If their data shows that adding this content will garner enough lgbt subscribers and cartel market spenders to justify the resources, I don't care if they add it.
  4. Why use the tired strategy of saying "in other words" and then mutating my post into something I didn't say. Why not respond precisely to what I said instead rewriting it into something I didn't say . Also, I don't have to prove or justify anything. It isn't my job to prove what game content to add and what game content not to add. Bioware should add this if they judge that it benefits the game enough to justify the resources, they should go for it.. More or less, my only point is that I am against adding it for the sake of equality or making some political statement. Yeh I'll never persronally support it, but I would be perfectly fine with the addition if the devs decide that the benefit of adding this is worth the resources. I would be annoyed if they decide to add it to make a statement or to bring in equality. No, because it is a minor point. Even if it is wrong, which for the sake of the argument, we'll say I am wrong. This game is doing great is is financially doing better than most other MMOs out there. SWTOR is doing just as good as they intended it to do. it doesn't change my overall point that the additions should be based on what benefits the game enough to justify the resources not equality or political statements.
  5. Priorities change. This game fell off big time after launch, so they had to shift priorities to turn things around. I am not in favor of using reasoning like equality or past promises to justify adding stuff to the game. I think the focus should be on adding stuff that benefits the game enough to justify the addition. Anything else should be back burnered. What I personally support doesn't matter. I'll personally never support adding this, but I also don't support adding space combat. However, they apparently judged that adding space combat will benefit the game enough to justify the addition, so I don't care. If adding same sex romance is judged to benefit the game enough to justify the addition, I they should go for it. Overall, the only thing I want is for them to hit stride and start making more money, hiring more devs, and adding even more content. Well I can't be bothered to respond to all 7 points specifically, so I'll just respond to them all at once. If what you want doesn't benefit the game, it shouldn't be a priority. I tend to be against people that justify being given something on being entitled to it. No one is entitled to have anything added to the game. So, if they evaluate adding this and find that it is going to benefit the game enough to justify the resources, they should go for it. They've probably been doing better since F2P, but I doubt that they recouped the loses that occurred shortly after launch. I am pretty sure that the game, while doing better, isn't doing as well as they intended for it to do.
  6. This isn't government benefits or a government run game, therefore equality isn't a right here. This game is in trouble and has been for a while, so they should be tunnel visioning on fixing that. Benefit to the game should be the supreme concern. If Bioware finds that it will benefit the game enough to justify the resources, they should go for it. However, I don't want them wasting time putting it in purely for the sake of equality.
  7. We have one president, but we also have checks and balances. We have the judicial branch and congress, both of whom can deliver a hard check to the president when it is needed. Even the minority party in the senate can prevent him from selecting a judge as we have seen recently. Anyway, nowhere in my post did I get into politics, so I have no idea why you went there. You went there, so I responded. However, I wont be following this line of discussion down into the rabbit hole into a full blown discussion on our system of government. Also, I hate the debate tactic where you say that someone said something they didn't, and then proceed to debate against what you said they said. At no point did I say that Bioware made changes that the community didn't want. What I did say is that I don't like that a single point of contact with the community has been selected. I think it should be a small group rather than one person. At no point did I say I want my voice heard in particular. I did say that they should not select one major point of contact with the community. Ah, the quintessential overly aggressive, angry forum poster that swears and spams caps at people that disagree with him. I guess I'll give responding to you a shot. You have a right to your opinion. However, Bioware should be considering other perspectives as they make these decisions. Yeh, being able to contend in a NM operation is obviously the most important thing to you. However, NM operations are not the only thing in the game. If we remove every player from the game other than those that regularly do NM operations, they would probably have to shut the game down. They should certainly consider your perspective, but other perspectives should be considered as well.
  8. This isn't government benefits or a government run game, therefore equality isn't a right here. This game is in trouble and has been for a while, so they should be tunnel visioning on fixing that. Benefit to the game should be the supreme concern. However, I don't want them wasting time putting it in because they are being yelled at by the gay community.
  9. Well no, it doesn't feel mostly the same. The playstyle of a heavy armor tank without self healing is different from the play style of a light armor tank with fairly significant self healing. The difference is felt more in PVP than in PVE. I've done a lot of pvping in various games, and without exception, fighting a class with high self healing is completely different than fighting a class without it. -Yes, in the hypothetical that there is only one person willing to devote time, I guess one person should be the limit. However, I suspect that there may be more than 1 person that would be willing to devote time so that hypothetical isn't really applicable. -The fact that other people contributed is beside my point. At the end of the day there is still only one representative, and thus, one opinion that makes it to Bioware. If there were 3, they would get a better picture of the pros and the cons. With three or any uneven number, they would get a better statistical picture based on comparing the three opinions of the 3 representatives and selecting the majority opinion. -At no point in my post did I say that they needed to come to a consensus about everything. The idea is that Bioware should be gathering the majority of their feedback from more than one person. It would be nice if they formed a consensus, but if they can't, that probably means that Bioware should take a look at what all of them have to say and then make a decision based on the information and arguments that are given.
  10. Not indefinitely. Maybe they could include it with the expansion after the next expansion. They really need a meaty expansion that goes well beyond the little bit that Makeb has. By Heavy Content, I mean major content like expansion level content that people would pay and return to the game for. This includes new advanced classes and planets. Though in response to your implication that they just don't want to do it, if they don't want to add it in I can't really begrudge them that. It is their game. Though, if there is significant demand from current and potential subscribers, I'd say that they should look into it. However, I am against the idea that it should be added purely for the sake of equality.
  11. Haven't been in this thread in a while. Just tagging in to add my feedback. I think this game desperately needs more heavy content. They should definitely put a hold on this until after the next full expansion.
  12. My feedback, I resubbed and logged into the forums to see that Bioware has decided to select a single person that they will listen to on AC feedback. That one person is fine with gutting the uniqueness of the class to fix operation spike damage, so they are proceeding with the gutting. Nothing personal against the class rep, but I think that the class rep should be a group of 3-5 people not a single person. The group needs to include people that are primary pvpers and primary pvers. As we learn with governments, these things need to be divided out rather than centralized all into one person.
  13. Yeh I am in the same spot. Just resubbed. Everything is good except the quest line to get HK-47 is annoying.
  14. Obviously. I am just curious as to what people think will happen.
  15. I just renewed my sub and get the feeling that I may regret it after looking at these changes. They should have found a way to fix whatever they are aiming to fix that doesn't involve removing a core class mechanic entirely. That said, without doing any heavy theorycrafting, it looks like the defensive buffs will mostly compensate for the loss of self healing mathematically. However, there is no compensation or replacement for the loss of the core mechanic. I also think that a lot of adjusting will be required in PVP. I think that it all adds up mathematically, but I am not sure how things will go in live pvp. It will all balance out in PVE, but I am not sure if it will balance so well in PVP.
  16. So, I've recently gotten into reading the Expanded Universe books. This thread is primarily to discuss the Fate of the expanded universe now that Disney owns Star Wars. I am thinking that they may disavow the EU entirely and rule that it is simply an non-cannon alternate universe. Given that they cancelled Clone Wars and it wasn't doing bad at all, I wonder if they won't just stop authors from publishing Star Wars books completely. Thoughts anyone?
  17. This was pretty disappointing news to me. That fight between Maul and Sidious really had me interested. I was looking forward to more stuff of that quality. I wanted a good Mace Windu fight sequence before it ended.
  18. You guys should have a new world event going every month. Charge X amount of Cartel Coins to get access to each months world event.
  19. GW2 is a nice game, but from playing Beta, I could tell it would get old very quick. I already know I'll be done with it in 2-3 months tops, then off to somewhere else until they release an expansion.
  20. They might as well go ahead and add it. At the rate that the game is losing customers, this couldn't hurt to much more.
  21. the very least you could do is post a link...
  22. The only benefit to straffing is that it makes you harder to keep in los for people.
  23. I don't play ranked because ranked pvp on my server is controlled by a few republic guilds. Most people have spent time pvping and pveing. The republic side on my server has a few guilds that have done absolutely nothing but PVP since launch. Each of them has multiple full war hero augmented classes, so they can create perfect cookie cutter groups. This has caused most people to avoid rankeds. These guilds are easier to deal with if you only have to deal with 4 of them as opposed to 8. Until the queueing system stops pairing average rank 2000 groups with average rank 900 groups, many people on my server won't ranked pvp much.
