  1. I have to agree. I an finding artifice so useless on my alt that im tempted to drop it and level biochem so that I can have access to my reusables.
  2. When a Marauder hops out in front of me before I can get there because they are in a hurry, I don't bother taking aggro back from them. I just let him die and then take aggro.
  3. Anyone that isn't busy should queue for HM Maelstrom Prison so that I can get my last HK part.
  4. I like madness for raiding and flashpoints, but my head would explode if I attempted to level with it.
  5. I can agree with this thread. If the buff that it gives were significant, I could understand it having a short duration. However, the buff is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Sure it helps, but not enough to be limited to strictly.
  6. Roll a stealth class. I solo the pvp quests daily. People can gank you if you are a stealther(if you are not paying attention to your surroundings), but no one can camp a stealther.
  7. I am working on getting HK-51 from the beginning on my guardian. If you are interested in helping contact Araris in game.
  8. Kinda sucks that askmrrobot is the go to build site for swtor, and their dns server is down so all builds are down.
  9. I don't think the 2.5 changes break anything. After adjusting to the changes, a player should still be able to be effective. However, I can see where he is coming from. The self-sufficiency is what made the spec feel like an "assassin." It sort of made sense that an assassin wouldn't be as attached to the healer as others. After all, he is an "assassin." It can be explained away, but the change definitely favored high-end raiding over any other aspect of the game. It is easy to point out that benefits do exist to having more mitigations in PVP, but no one is arguing that the benefits are none-existant. Many would just prefer the self heals over the extra mitigation given that they are pretty insignificant in a pvp environment.
  10. It would be a massive undertaking, but it would be cool if they added the ability to fully swap your allegiances.
  11. Yup. Best to adapt to the changes and keep playing darkness or reroll to another class. Don't play a madness assassin though. I don't recall which thread, but there was some guy claiming that he made a deception build that is viable in PVE. You could try looking for that.
  12. It is all about easy wins. None of the people that run primarily premades want to give up their easy wins.
  13. My suggestion, find a way to make the new darkness changes work for you. You really don't want to be playing a madness assassin right now. It isn't worth the effort of gearing it up.
  14. This is why being a game designer doesn't require a degree in Math. Yeh, the Math needs to add up behind the scenes, but a page full of puked up math isn't going to make a clunky mechanic feel less clunky. The current state of Dark Protection is extremely clunky. It only partially usable in PVE depending on which boss you are fighting and how much they cc or teleport around, and completely unsable in PVP since your going to constantly be stunlocked. Math tends not to factor in those instances where the mechanic cannot be used or how the mechanic feels during gameplay. At the end of the day, you can make it work most of the time in PVE, even if it doesn't play as smoothly. However, I've switched to deception in PVP for the first time since launch.
  15. This is about the best assessment that I've seen. The goal, which was to reduce spikiness, was achieved for the most part. However, I agree that the Dark Protection mechanic that they chose to go with is terrible. The decision appears to have been based totally on puked up math. How the class would play and feel was never considered.
  16. Yeh, I would totally go for a roll back. They just used the few people asking for this change as an excuse to remove self healing.
  17. I really wanted to see a Mace WIndu fight seen on par with the quality of what was shown in Palpatine vs Oppress vs Maul before the show was cancelled. Now that Disney owns Star Wars and they don't care about anything other than money, maybe they'll just retcon Mace Windu back alive and say that he survived.
  18. I find it difficult to hold aggro on large groups of enemies without wither if I am running with DPSers that know how to DPS properly. What you suggest works well for PVP and tanking one or two targets, but I find wither to be absolutely mandatory when there will be group pulls. At least for me, running a sin tank without wither simply isn't viable unless I am pvping. I've tried the assassin tank with the new changes in pvp and in a number of hardmode fps. It seems to work fine in the fps at least. I managed to keep it up without too much off a problem. I have no idea how it is going to do in an op. However, it doesn't work well at all in PVP. Maintaining dark protection with so little time just won't work. They need to tack a buff to it onto another trait. Maybe have conspirators cloak or hand of darkness or assassin's shelter to increase the duration of Dark Protection by 4 seconds.
  19. I wouldn't mind them doing that at well. It wouldn't really fit into Star Wars lore, but they could remove white people from SWTOR entirely and I wouldn't care. Nope, if everyone agreed on everything the world would be boring. I am fully aware that there is exactly 0% chance of getting the many of the people that frequent this thread to agree with me.
  20. Again, nope. It simply demonstrates that the point isn't important and anything can be substituted there.
  21. I am not all the way through Makeb, but so far I have seen a lot more same-sex dialog options. There has been one every time I move to the next stage in the main story arc of Makeb so far. That is a swarm to me, although I accept that you may not view it as much. We can agree to disagree on that. I do think something is better than nothing since it demonstrates that they are making progress even if slow. Correct, I am against adding it due to inclusive policies or political statements. However, if they are seeing where they would gain significant sub, cartel point buyers, or that it would overall make the game better, they should go for it. I don't really have any comments on your statements about women or using the game as a real life get away. I think that political statements could potentially be a reason to do it because I've seen statements in articles and posts from some posters that imply that they should add it to make a statement, to be fair, inclusive, or to promote equality. I haven't said that it wouldn't make the game better, only that it should if they add it.
  22. Yeh, I think they go about things the wrong way sometimes. I subbed on the 22, and I see people that waited 5 days getting who month more time than I am getting. It makes me regret subbing, and Bioware should avoid making people that sub regret it.
  23. No. I am against content additions purely for the sake of equality, making political statements. If they find that the benefit to the game justifies the resources, they should add it. However, they should not add it for reasons not relating to making the game better. Also, I don't really care about things that were said at launch. They said a lot of stuff at launch that is still on the wall of crazy. As long as it is still on the list of things to do, they haven't broken any promises. I've been noticing a swarm of same-sex dialog options as I level through Makeb, so it is clear that they are taking at least some steps.
  24. Going Warrior or Sorcerer is like the difference between going Bane or Xana. The warrior story line is ultimately darker.
  25. Nope, I am demonstrating that changing that particular point matters very little. The idea was to show that you can change it to be whatever you want it to be and it still won't matter. So, I changed my statement to be that the game is and has always been doing excellent in order to hopefully end that line of discussion. I don't really dig the whole "Hmmm his main point is unimpeachable, so let's go after this side point that doesn't matter" tactic.
