  1. Today is an emergency patch. That should not factor into these discussion. Or would you rather wait and have the patch 12h later? Ilum is unplayable right now. PvP balance totally (and permanently - if they don't do a valor reroll) broken and getting more out of hand with every minute.

It's their own damn fault. They should've TESTED the damn thing before deploying it live. I'm so sick and tired of getting the short end of the stick every single freaking time, just because I happen to live in Europe.

  2. MMORPGs do not just offer the world, they also very actively encourage player interaction. In fact it is not about engaging in many different activities at the same time. It is all about engaging in the same activities at the same time with each other.

You are not forced to do that of course but why pay money for a server-based game when I can play all by myself without a monthly fee?

    Because it entertains me...?

    The focus is multiplayer...

Again, as Bioware stated many times - in this game the focus is on story. Bioware as in the game developer, you know? The people actually making decisions here?

everything from dungeons to raid instances, PvP groups, RPing and the trading and crafting mini game shouts social interaction.

I can go to the cinema with my friends, put cotton in my ears and the sleeping mask on my eyes and have a nap, because that's the way I choose to use the offer. Doesn't mean I am using it the way it is intended to be used though

Bioware offers a game focused on story - what you do with that is only your business.

  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massively_multiplayer_online_role-playing_game

It's the definition. Some people might go rogue and not accept it. but it's what an MMO is.

At the core of an MMORPG lies the multiplayer aspect, like playing a board game with your friends.

At the core of an offline RPG lies the individual experience, like reading a story in a book.

sure, Bioware puts much more story and cinematic feeling into the game than other games of its kind but this is not KOTOR 3. This is a Star Wars MMO.

    Let's see:

As in all RPGs, players assume the role of a character (often in a fantasy world) and take control over many of that character's actions. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player RPGs by the number of players, and by the game's persistent world (usually hosted by the game's publisher), which continues to exist and evolve while the player is offline and away from the game.

Isn't that what I said? ANYTHING apart from that is a specific flavour added by the developer. Basically that whole page enforces my point of view, not yours.

As a side note: I find it quite funny people complain about lack of MMO in this game, when for a lot of folks this is actually the most social MMO game ever created.

  4. it's an MMO so it can't be the main focus by definition.

Nope, it's a MMORPG. Three additional letters and it makes a huge difference.

The main focus in an MMO is multiplayer connectivity...I mean that is what the name suggests right?

Actually no. MMO has no "focus" whatsoever. It just denotes a persistent world, where many players engage in different activities at the same time. How many restrictions will be placed on the players is up to the developer, but MMO in itself has no focus whatsoever.

  5. Do you need to group to finish the story in this MMO?

Probably not. On the other hand, in no other game have I found myself in a group as often as in TOR.

Sounds like a single player game to me and that is how I am playing it. Just like I would play Mass Effect and Dragons Age.

SWTOR is no different then any of the recent RPGs Bio has put out.

All they did was expand on the coop part without the need to actuall cooperate with anyone.

I'm totally fine with that. Games that require me to group up with other people are not the games I like to play. Take the requirement away however and suddenly I find it quite enjoyable.

  6. Thats becouse all beta testers are slckers looking only for best PvP class.

There are so many bugs in the end game that it makes you think what was beta testers doing all this time.

Sadly you're wrong mate... All those bugs and imperfections we see today are STILL here, despite beign reported time and again by the beta testers. This one's on Bioware.

  7. This is true.. Can you name a single time that would cover both the U.S. and Europe.. (...) As I said.. Please explain to us when it would be the best time to do maintenance cycle for both the U.S. and Europe..

I don't want the same maintenance cycle. I want them separated.

A 2nd maintenance window is an additional expense and as pointed out by others, could cause technical issues.. Does any of this matter for you?? Or are you just unable to argue with facts?? Additional resources might be needed to fix these techical issues.. Who is going to pay for that?? Their might be additional maintenances because of these issues.. Who is going to pay for that??

Why are you so important that they (bioware) a company should just accept the additional hassle and expence because you say so, but can offer no reason as to why??

Well, let's see. Maybe because their main competitor, a company called Activision Blizzard, solved that problem years ago? Also, maybe because another of their competitors, a much smaller company called Trion Worlds, solved that at the release? I guess it's hard then for a company like Electronic Arts, with HALF A BILLION DOLLARS income every year to give us another maintenance window, separated from the US - is this seriously what you're trying to tell us?

PS. Just as a side note:

Since we established the exchange rate doesn't actually mean that Europians pay more..

    It's EUROPEANS!

  8. Bioware is going to cater to most of the people and most of the people work during the day.. What is wrong with that??

The time when MOST of the people don't play is during the night and early morning. There is much MORE people playing the game during current maintenance window than at night. You can spin it anyway you like, but you can't argue with facts.

  9. In either case.. It appears their maintenence is from 3am to 11am Paris time.. How is that any better than 8am to 4pm Paris time?? We are talking about a 5 hour window that isn't in peak time begin with... Who plays from 11am to 4pm??? Most people are at work??

How about you take your own advice and look at the server status page? True enough, before noon, all servers are on LIGHT. However, noon passes and there's a majority of STANDARD, and even some at HEAVY. All that BEFORE 4pm Paris time.

Also, please remember that not every country in Europe is in the GMT time zone.

  10. I have MIUI rom, want to change it for Cyanogen, but im not doing it until i got my sec key removed, im idiot but not so much to shoot myself on feet XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I was talking about generic software updates that shouldn't even touch app data - wiping your phone with new firmware will destroy your authenticator :) This app is so awesome it even resists the powers of Titanium Backup :)

And BTW, MiUI ICS is great, I woudn't change to Cyanogen in a million years :)
