  1. Not exactly sure why you included that as it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of your argument. I don't think anybody has said MMOs can only be played on PCs. You make it sound like they're classified as MMOs DESPITE being on consoles, when really the platform has absolutely nothing to do with genre identification. As a note for this thread in general, I would love it if BW would let you use companions to solo a FP, and honestly I don't see any reason not to allow it. Also, I've seen alot of people in this thread who apparently think hardcore players are the ones who like to group and casuals are all demanding solo content...which is just completely ignorant of anybody to say. Those labels have nothing to do with solo vs. grouping.
  2. .....What in the heck are you talking about? You say advantage with BM gear in PVP is bad, so they should get rid of expertise on PVE labeled servers. Which we've already established has absolutely nothing to do with warzones or PVP in specific, just not being able to gank people. Your solution was to remove expertise on said server, which I said would result in the exact same situation just with BM swapped out for raid gear. I never once said I wanted anything from PVP either way, in fact I don't even PVP at all. Can't stand that aspect of the game. Do you even understand what the pot and kettle saying means? Doesn't seem like you do.
  3. I think he took one too many blaster bolts to the head during his "REAL world pvp".
  4. You do realize PVP and PVE generally just have to do with world PVP, like people not wanting to be ganked all day while leveling. They don't have anything to do with warzones and the like. Saying hardcore PVPers have no business on PVE servers is just preposterous. Plus using PVE gear to PVP just means the people who raid, aka PVE players, have an advantage because they have better gear. I fail to see how that's any better.
  5. Don't see how they could possibly lower it. It's already way too easy, you practically have to make an effort to die.
  6. Really? That's the comparison you want to make? Messing up on the story's timeline is a "oops, my bad" type thing, screwing up on numbers like that are a fineable offense and I can guarantee he had at least a dozen different people look over those number before releasing them. As for only being 1.7(and it's actually over 1.7) because they didn't release everywhere at once? Maybe you'd have a point if those numbers included the delayed Asia/Pacific launch, but they don't.
  7. Which 1.7 are you referring to? If the January numbers then the 1.7 did include free trials. If the February numbers then the 1.7 did not include trials but it was stated that a vast majority of players were not in their free month. So including trials it's probably closer to a 1.8-1.9M subscriber base. That number will be even higher if you include the Asia/Pacific launch.
  8. Well, that's how the MMO industry is different. 15% after launch is actually an amazingly small amount, usually it's double that at least.
  9. No benefits for you other than playing with your friends. I believe the friends you refer can buy the game at the end of their trial for a discounted price.
  10. No, because laptops can run this game just fine. Better than some desktops actually, plus they were Alienware. I laughed when they played Pubs and were wearing Sith clothes.
  11. Might not have that many but 1.8 or 1.9 is highly likely, given there are 1.7 recurring subs and that doesn't even include trials from the asia/pacific launch.
  12. Could you please link where they state they are removing the valor requirement from the Prince? All I could find was the economic changes in patch 1.1.5 post where they say the resale restriction on SOME speeders is being removed. Also you claim they outright lied about reducing the price then in the next sentence go on to say they DID reduce the price...lolwut?
  13. No, if you buy it now, you'll always have it. Just nobody new can get it in the future.
  14. Thats actually included in A. /waits for mod to close thread
  15. Just looked back, and yea, you're the one I agree with. Tservo and Bennfynyn are the ones who insist you're wrong and they don't have 1.7M active subs per what they think the CEO said.
  16. Exactly, but this whole thing started when people who made that statement were told they weren't right because they were just going by the slide show and ignoring what he actually said. I just posted to show that what he said and what the slide showed were really the same thing. And there's so many people saying so many different things in this thread, I have no idea who I was originally correcting anymore.
  17. Read the question before that. He defines recurring as somebody who "paid for and committed to more time beyond the initial trial period." Free trials are NOT included in that as they haven't actually paid for game time. Thats the difference between recurring and active subscriptions. The second part is just defining HOW they can choose to pay once they are required to.
  18. We're two months into the launch, a lot more to go, but 1.7 million, vast majority now, are recurring subscribers. So he's lying when he says 1.7M are recurring aka paying? Because that would mean those numbers don't include free trials, which would mean *gasp* that the active subscription number is over 1.7M which is exactly what the slide showed.
  19. Except all those terms have been clearly defined by Riccitiello himself at various times. Unless the definitions change from month to month, everything I said is stated by him as fact.
  20. Bigger difference than that. In January there were 1.7M ACTIVE subscriptions, in February there were 1.7M RECURRING subscriptions. Since recurring are a subset of active, that means the active numbers from February are more than 1.7M.
  21. "We're two months into the launch, a lot more to go, but 1.7 million, vast majority now, are recurring subscribers." Unless he's hiding behind grammar I take that to mean they have 1.7M recurring subscribers with who knows how many more in the free trial as of February 20th which would be the 2 month mark.
  22. .....What? Everything you just posted shows that he IS giving an update.
  23. Maybe it's the fact that you didn't say that. You said halfway through March, not the subscription cycle. Are we supposed to read your mind or something?
  24. Of course they were numbers from February, the CEO gave those numbers at a convention in NYC on the 8th and said they were "from the end of February". And although it wasn't mentioned in the article if you look at the transcript he makes a very big distinction between the numbers from the convention and the numbers from the Earnings Call. The quote from the analyst about the Asia launch was probably given at a earlier date.
