  1. So did I. And the LotR books about the stuff that happened before the humans were made are even better than the movies time period.
  2. http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/23322/TERA-NCSoft-US-Lawsuit-Delay-of-Game.html That article mentions the conviction in Korea. And said conviction is referenced on page 2 of the US lawsuit http://tsi.brooklaw.edu/sites/tsi.brooklaw.edu/files/filings/ncsoft-corporation-et-al-v-bluehole-studio-inc-et-al/20120109ncsoft-corporation-et-al-v-bluehole-studio-inc-et-alcomplaint.pdf Funny that Bluehole launched in Korea even with the convictions.
  3. I totally would love to see the Yuuzhan Vong if it wouldn't mess with anything too badly. Even tho that's a species and not a faction...but whatever.
  4. And I actually have more problems with tab-targeting in that game than I do in this one. If I wanted to target the guy halfway across the room instead of one of the four guys bashing my face in, I'd click him. Thank you very much >.<
  5. Wow, that's impressive. And I originally called attention to it because of somebody's post on the previous page that said it is literally impossible to get above 45 in warzones. Apparently he thinks the engine caps it there.
  6. Since that's all one paragraph, I'm going to assume it's all about warzone performance and you aren't just exaggerating to make a point. In which case...O.O you got 110fps in a warzone?
  7. It's a single player game if you choose to play it that way, plain and simple. I get the same, if not more, group stuff done in this game that I do in WoW.
  8. Everyone gets 45fps in warzones? That's what all the fuss is about? And here I thought people with good computers were getting 5-10fps and were up in arms about it. Nice to know you keep track of everyones fps though. /sarcasm off Actually it's nice to know that there are still people who think that if you don't agree with them, you're either lying or too ignorant to see the problem...I love the internet.
  9. Seriously? Those numbers are even stated as being NOT the entire servers population, only just under half of the zones. And if you honestly believe a single snapshot in time is a good way to judge an MMOs population then...../facepalm
  10. Why even ask a question that you know is impossible to answer? And I'm sorry if you don't understand the difference between regional and worldwide clients as they pertain to server patches, but I'm not in any way inclined to hold your hand and guide you through the concept and limitations for each. Suffice it to say, the "one reason" you state is not the only reason and really it's not even a good reason if you knew how stuff like this works. But I'm pretty sure nothing I say will change your mind on this point, so I'm not even gonna bother.
  11. Believe it? Yes, it would cause the exact problem you just described. People couldn't play on multiple regions like they do now. And BW has stated that's what they want them to be able to do, thus one worldwide maintenance time.
  12. Of course they can take servers down by region, they never said they couldn't. The issue is PATCHING servers by region, and the way the clients set up they can't do that without major problems.
  13. You will be an active subscriber from day 1, you just won't be a recurring subscriber until the 30 days are over and you actually get billed.
  14. It doesnt? I see those little red arrows on all the servers except the new Pacific ones. Server status page is just fine.
  15. The entire problem with this thread is that people have very differnt interpretations of the answer and what BW thought the question meant. I think the whole thing is because of the vague nature of the question/answer. The guy from DH states he gets 20fps in Huttball, ok thats entirely possible and is in line with what others are saying about the poor engine optimization. But he also states that he gets 5-10fps on Alderaan. BW says that it's his computer and he needs to check it out. If by Alderaan he meant Civil War, then yea BW was wrong and PVP actually has an issue. But if he meant Alderaan, as in the world and just running around in it, which alot of people seem to think he meant, then BW was right and thats not normal and he should check his rig for problems. I dont think BW meant to say that there is no problem with PVP and its only the users machines that are to blame. Of course I could be completely wrong and BW could have meant that, but that is my take on this whole thing.
  16. I understand reading can be hard sometimes, and I apologize if English isn't your first language. But saying that they currently, as of the end of February, have 1.7M recurring subscriptions is pretty cut and dry. And yes we don't know the total number of active* subscriptions because he only stated that 1.7M is the vast majority. It could be 1.8M or it could be 2.2M, we have no idea. But the 1.7M is stated by him as fact. *recurring and active subscriptions ARE NOT the same thing.
  17. Yea, it's not an 85% anymore, even at the earnings call they said over 2 million but never said how much over. Add in what they've sold since then and it's definitely under 85% now. But Tservo has been in numerous threads saying that the 1.7M number is false because the CEO even says so, and that's what I was referring to.
  18. Oh, hello again. Not sure, where you get the idea that the CEO says there are NOT 1.7M. He states in no uncertain terms that there are currently 1.7M recurring subscriptions and that is a vast majority of the active subscribers in this game. "We're two months into the launch, a lot more to go, but 1.7 million, vast majority now, are recurring subscribers."
  19. That's the comparison you make? A TECHNICAL quote that either they were mistaken on or just didn't feel like pursuing so they made something up, versus a design philosophy standpoint? Those have nothing in common with each other. And I said that whole basis thing because when asked if they were planning to allow AC changing they said "No, AC are fundamentally different class designs." What they originally intended has no bearing on what I said. As of right now they say that AC are DIFFERENT classes, effectively calling them liars and thinking that you know more about what they intend than they do design-wise is just ignorant. That being said they could a complete 180 tomorrow and say they are the same classes and AC switching is coming in 1.2. Still doesn't have any effect whatsoever on what I've stated in my posts.
  20. Right, cause obviously they're lying to us about these numbers. I mean, why wouldn't they? Not like anything would happen to them if they did. Oh wait...
  21. Who cares what "other games" do. Bioware designed AC to be totally different classes, and that's what I was commenting on. They are designed as different classes despite what the guy I quoted feels. You can make a argument about how you should be able to change to different classes even though other games don't have that ability or do classes differently. But calling them the same class is just ignoring how this game is designed.
  22. No they're not. The devs have even said that AC are DIFFERENT classes. That's their whole basis for not allowing AC changes.
  23. There aren't any floating around because only people with bad performance take the time to make videos highlighting that fact. Those with good performance are too busy enjoying the game.
  24. Yes, after a month they sold 2M copies and only 1.7M had kept accounts....in the MMO world that's an initial base of 1.7M, 85% conversion rate, and a DAMN GOOD number for any MMO. A month later they have over 1.7M, but they didn't say how much over that number they have. That IS an increase, and without the exact sales numbers we have no idea what retention percentage that is. But it's in no way a drop.
  25. Proof? Nobody on the interwebz needs no stinking proof! You should believe him because he said so. On a serious note, yea, the reason has been stated multiple times. And I believe the people who actually have the means to find and record game traffic over random Joes on the internet.
