  1. This is in part correct yet. Some games have too much powercreep in endgame, some games have too little. Swtor is on the too little end, that too little difference means there is no real progression through normals- hardmodes- etc, only really in operations is there some decent progression. On top of that there are no cool itemization outside of just the visual look of items. Set bonus 2 piece - one of your abilities gives you 2% increased damage for 15 sec. 30 second cooldown. Wow.. that really makes me desire this gear.. Not. I don't get why so many of you get so mad from me speaking pure truth or try with the "then leave" comments in disguise. As i said, i like swtor. I come here every now and then and i play like a month but then i get bored because of said reasons. I don't tell you that you are wrong, actually, if you read what i said, i even say it is just a difference of opinion, but when i equated your tastes to mcd u gotten mad. Sadly it is what it is, a superficial fast quick experience like cheap fast food. Swtor is a low quality ARPG, it serves best as an RPG for roleplayers with cool looking gear, which i also like - but in the end i play mmoarpg's because i want to build cool and powerful characters and because ARPG's are fundamentally different from action games like counterstrike because there is character building - i want to optimize this feeling. Not only that, but i represent a much greater part of the mmo community than you do - games with the qualities you defend are always nab infested - there are few serious players, slacking communities(although often quite friendly). Players walking around massive nubs don't know **** about the game, no real knowledge or theorycrafting going on usually just a couple of individuals holding the torch etc.. Nothing to aspire to. Do you really think Swtor isn't just gonna keep losing and becoming less and less interesting when all the best MMOARPG elements have been diluted to the point where it's no interesting driving forces to attract people? The qualities i speak about are what seperates the trashy mmo's from the good ones, the qualities i speak about are what drove the greatest mmo's of all times to become just that. You can think im just talking ****, but you can't recognize what you don't understand - and most of you are fast food consumers with little sense for quality. So yea There were a good couple of responds early in the thread, like the one who pointed out good things to hunt for, but now it's just u all with the standard brainless comments and u dont have a clue what u read. Haha. Tomorrow i hope to come back and read once again something far out in here to make me rofl.
  2. I am not going to get baited into a mudthrowing contest here with some of the ignorant dudes in here throwing comments about things they don't have a clue about. Neither will i tell them that they are wrong, because they are allowed to feel any way they want. No i am a much older and wiser forum warrior - i know most people left want the brainless depthless mode - just like in D3 you should have seen the massive defensive wall there was from it's "new playerbase"(replaced old d2 playerbase) - people saying game was good because you could sell items for real life money as one of their main points etc etc - people who clearly payed no respect to the legacy of proper ARPG's. But there is no point arguing with that, it's just difference of opinion, most don't want depth. This is also an ARPG. If you just wanna quick arrive at endgame and be happy knowing that that's it, then go play a non-rpg, just stick to the plain action game and let those of us who like to build characters and enjoys all aspects of the game such as leveling and so on do that. Also if you can't tell the difference between an asian grinder and what i said then that really is your problem, ive played my share of asian grinders and not looking for more. There was an interesting comment earlier on it being easier to maintain a super simplistic thing - but really what is it is something more - it is downfall of will to create a high quality and ambitious product. Just like when WoW removed skill trees because it was easier, they removed a high quality art product, something that took great effort but produced a unique and excellent end result back when wow was best, later they started making all those compromises and instead of striving to make a quality product they instead just went with the path of least resistance to get audience. They don't know that players want the choice, even if the choice is an illusion it feels good. That goes for all of life - ultimately choice is an illusion but we live for those choices anyway. It is what it is, i just said here why i am disappointed - there is almost no endgame progression, it's too easy to buy end-gear that removes most of the farming and so on. Like really there is almost no difference in 2-3 days i can reach 65 and be nearly as powerful as someone all decked out. Also that lack of interesting drops - for example super semian sphere from wow could drop from heroics and **** like that cool things. In classic wow items had value because of their rarity - blue gear was good, but being full epic u were crazy. There were BoE drops you could find in certain instances to sell for solid money if you were lucky or other things of high desire that couldn't just be bought on AH.. Etc etc, don't think i need to go on. At the end of the day i want a quality product, great art. I don't want a mcdonalds burger, i want a proper meal. If you like yours mcd burger then good for you, but i will always prefer quality over quantity so that just is what it is. PS: I particularly liked the dude who tried to equate me wanting more things to farm endgame with me wanting to replace skill for just grinding gear till im superior. It makes me happy to know there are still some of you senseless bong-heads out there to make my day!
  3. I always like star wars and the older games, and i also like swtor. Here is my problem with swtor - primarily it is a itemization/characterization issue. First let me start somewhere slightly different. Swtor has become too *********** faceroll and lame to level. I mean the level of brainless skip skip ding max level in a few days of farming whatever is just extreme. It completely undermines leveling and worth of anything - there is no point spending time getting gear at low levels beyond just some hilt or barrel you buy from GTN. Before you even started using it, like literally just a few dungeon runs it is completely outdated and you are tons of levels above - i don't get to show off **** or have any pride in my items when leveling - it's just meaningless. Then we arrive at end game and the itemization is mediocre at best. Everything is stripped down to something so simple and basic it's all just a big meh fest. There are no cool stat items AT ALL. No special powerful items to hunt, no nothing. Just all the same stats, everyone almost practically identical, and not only that but you can have prepared gear for speedy 65 ding for almost no cost - that is almost as good as the best gear available. I don't feel a big purpose, i dont feel i am chasing any big power grind - the items do not motivate me at all in swtor because they are ALL meh without exception. At least combat-focused ones. Also it should be said that because there is so little differentiation between the power levels of gear u can almost free from GTN, and the best gear in game there really isn't much progression to be made anywhere in swtor - there is no subset of you starting in dungeons, grinding your way to gear that will finally let u in hardmode(and enough power climb that this gear is practically required), which again will let you farm gear that you can use to raid and so slowly progress. No, almost BiS items can be bought straight off the GTN. There is no gearing progression that i love. Then you look at the items and how interesting they are. They are all just plain boring stats even more boring by it turning into components(although that also has some great advantages).. but everything is so oversimplified there is next to ZERO depth of itemization. Also, there is no special gear with special procs or things like that, no very rare drops that will give you something special to be proud of - something to farm for. Set items are dreadfully boring. Some of them are like add 1 more second to this, add 2% damage reduction etc etc etc. So epic *********** boring i dont even want to look at it. Where are like epic **** you can find as you gring and grind? It aint there, its all streamlined and facerolled and there is too little difference between power from instant on 65 gear to Bis. What swtor has going are visual items like mounts etc, those keep me hunting - but really when im almost max power directly from dinging 65 in almost no time - with no gearing progression to go through or anything - it just can't hold my attention very long. EDIT: I mean really i wish i could recommend swtor as a cool game to farm gear and grow a powerful jedi in - but in reality it only really has stories(mostly single player) and jedi-world roleplaying going for it(dressing your chars in cool looks).
  4. Hello, I just wanted to hear if i was the only person with this issue. Basically, swtor as the only game, where all other games work flawlessly, has some serious issues with ability lag. It has had those issues ever since the start for me. Basically, lets say i am madness and i need to channel force lightning.. What happens then is 80% of the time it works, but 20% of the time it simply doesnt work. There are a multitude of ways is fails. 1 - It may start the cast and stop right away before the cast bar even shows, triggering global cooldown and showing initial animation for a split second, that can at worst repeat up to 2-3 times in a row. If i don't let it relax half a second it's like it never gets back in sync and will continue to fail if i just click it. 2 - It may cast the full channel, but something is wrong here. I haven't noticed if it actually does damage, but it 100% does not give me stacks for instant lightning strike. I do the full channel, and no stacks etc. 3 - It channels, but it doesn't actually hit full number of times when the channel is over. Hit is over 10%, etc. There are no resists, it simply doesnt hit. This is similar to what happened in the forged alliance quest on 3.0 start, that server lag causes abilities to misbehave that exact way. All in all, it's a contant issue that prevent me from playing my class to perfect, and it's not like something i run into every now and then, its almost 1/3 of the fights i run into at least one of the problems, and in longer fights i run into multiple. Am i the only one who has this?
  5. I didn't know it was the highest, from the leaderboards it was still a bit under, and trash isn't a small part of our damage. About the burst, i mean for really small packs like random flashpoints it's worthless.
  6. Yes very simple. If you change Lambaste to apply Discharge, and increase the damage of trash by 25% things will be better for us. You can also increase the damage of trash baseline if you prefer. We need some sustained damage and some instant hits for crap mobs compared to top classes, trash boost will help that. Also, It will ensure you don't just lacerate for discharge. We need something to harm small packs fast, and also to help us solo where we are very weak. Applying discharge to all will help us end packs and help us heal when we agro all solo. And we have next to no Aoe, it will help us aoe too. The field the boost would enhance are places where we are weak, and still will be subpar after this boost, but it will improve the gameplay of the class greatly, which is why i think it should be done.
  7. I think an increase from 9 seconds cooldown to 12 seconds would match it, or a decrease in damage by 15% with a 10 second cooldown, if it had to be instant.
  8. Well it can also be done by a talent that will make you immune to interrupts, pushbacks and stuns while channeling Thundering Blast. That will make it tactical and give you an advantage, that if an enemy player chooses to stun/interrupt/pushback you while you are casting thundering blast, he will waste his ability. That gives you power and makes you feared because they cannot simply faceroll and must pay attention to counter you. And no, this is no troll, either of these will be just excellent, other classes have other lame overpoweredness.
  9. It will solve many lightning sorc issues to no longer have to hardcast it. It won't much of a boost either in dmg potential, just to make lightning fun to play. Yes needs new animation to match it. Maybe you could also increase the cooldown to 12 seconds to make up for it. It will make us able to proc free chain lightning while moving, thereby give us some extra slows also if talented for that. It would just be good overall, without giving us too much. EDIT: Alternatively change a talent to provide thundering blast with immunity to interrupts, knockbacks and stuns while casting. That would be tactical and players have to pay attention instead of facerolling you, as else their abilties will be wasted on your immunity.
  10. Does anyone know what type of proc effect is ideal for relics?
  11. I am deeply saddened by this change. I played assasin because it was a self-healing tank with stealth. Now it is just a random tank, even the active mitigation sucks because it will fall off at bad times, but in essence the class is not what i rolled it for anymore. Really bad change, really sad. I come back to swtor for some months every now and then, and when i came back this time all i could think was there was nothing i wanted to play anymore.
  12. Keybinds vs Clicking? Answer: Keybinds > Clicking End.
  13. Xeraz you have spoken well. Now for the rest of you i would like to point out one major difference that you seems to be missing. There is a difference between huttball and regular pvp, it is not just about opinion the all of it. Whether you like it is about opinion but the following is not: Huttball does not match the rest of the game-type. This is why Xeraz called it a minigame - it is a different game-type, something so different from the base game pvp experience that it cannot be directly compared. Therefore, for a player who dislikes huttball, they are being forced to sit through huttball, a game that does not match the rest of the gameplay (entire swtor), whereas a player who does not like some other warzone about fighting, is not forced to play a game that does not match the gameplay of swtor as a whole. That is the damn problem. You just need to realize that if you play huttball there are other games more funny for that kind of action, id imagine portal, unreal tournament, fifa and others are more focused on that type of gameplay - because this game will never be balanced around it. Finally we arrive at the solution: Since huttball is so special, you have 2 boxes to tick. Either you can queue up for regular warzone, huttball(and future similar games), or both. Which means that those who only want huttball can queue just for those games, and those who do not want it can queue without it, and those who like both can queue for both. Problem solved. Huttball players can chainqueue for their beloved huttball, and get more people who are engaged in the game, and those who do not like huttball and likes the base type of game that swtor is are not forced to sit through it. PS. I play a tank assasin, i have a huge advantage in huttball i feel, still, the game sucks, sorry to say it. Even such things as having a spell on your bar to throw the ball is just so bad controlled i cannot describe it. You cannot perfect UI/Hotkeys when you have to add this garbage into your bar. So bad, not matching game. Sorry you Huttball lovers, it's just the way it is.
  14. Ahhh, a new day, a new wave of trashtroll l2p sayers. Worthless, try reading what is in the thread.
  15. I have no desire to remove Huttball, i can see that a lot of people like it. I only wish it was not forced, and if you could convince me why it would not be okay to deselect 1-2 warzones when queuing then i would have nothing to say.
  16. People like you, i wonder how many retarded answers can you write in one day. Is this guy a regular around here? You have succeeded in making exactly zero useful points, and you speak on trolling. I bet you'll still talk if you see this answer, subconscious troll, not even aware of it yourself. Agent of the matrix bro, is what you are.
  17. Well it's good to see that you dear ones love to play fifa, meanwhile i prefer to play with my abilities. Just that an organized team can score a goal within a couple of almost instant passings show how badly arranged this map is. If, by your reasoning, hutball fits best because other games have better regular pvp, then one should wonder why swtor is arranged like a regular game with gear, talents, spells, cc etc. In other words, it is a regular mmorpg, and not an actiongame. Not to mention that there are better games to play if you want to throw a ball around. Try unreal tournament, that was fun, this is not, plus there is no choice, it forces the player to play these atypical matches. No matter how stoic followers huttball has, it still is something entirely else and the game forces you to play them in order to play the regular game. Also, nice try all you "l2p issues"-sayers, don't you ever get tired of the same old no brained answers, or well, i guess it's never too late to cliche it up
  18. Well, i am sure there are some out there who love it. It is but a mediocre game that is not well designed, albeit funny in its own way if you like it. Still, it's not about fighting with your skills as much as it is about coordination within the group - which is why it's bad for random players and i would prefer not to play it when i queue for pvp. If i wanted to play such a game i could probably find a friend with fifa, but i play to use my abilties and my character, which means every time i get huttball im forced to sit through a game mode that is kinda meh compared to proper pvp. Just make it possible to deselect 1-2 warzones and everyone will be happy.
  19. I could write a long and deceptive article aimed not to offend but all i want to say is this: Huttball sucks. Swtor pvp is mediocre when its there, and you can't deselect it. Fix: Make it possible to deselect up to 2 warzones when queuing random, because that game makes pvp look bad.
  20. ROFL! If i had a heal i would do it to the republic dogs when they are trying to kill normal mobs - which will then be in vain while im rofling on the side!
  21. Would be nice if we didn't have to press yes to the attachment warning when trying to delete a mail without attachments.
