Pretty much every assassin on my server is darkness. I said they are overall, the best 1v1 class. Not a contradiction. I could also make the assumption that all assassin on your server are terrible because they are all deception, justifying why you think they are so easily taken down by maras. Since there are only a few on your server and you actually don't know, I'm telling ya, the difference in survivability between a well played darkness and a deception is more than you can possibly imagine.

I don't dispute that many of them may be bad. Especially if I'm at half health. Well aware they are overall, the best 1v1 class. So are we however, and if I'm full HP with CD's, I honestly don't sweat Maras one bit. The best ones on my server may give me a challenge in that I have to really be on my toes though. About it. I find it hard to believe there isn't a single "good mara" on my server like you're implying though. Two stuns(one on a short CD), shroud, self-heal. Dunno man. maybe you had issues cause you were madness?

Really? I honestly have never had a hard time at all with them. Force Shroud, selfheal, and an electrocute is basically an I-win button. I take them down regularly from 30% so long as I have electrocute or spike available. I actually consider them one of the easiest classes to 1v1. Not being cocky, just surprised to hear that. I'm in full BM if that makes any difference, but even other war hero mara's get rolled by me. Stuns and an uninterruptable self heal are key though.

-trololololol. No darkness assassin is putting up those figures in a solo queue. That would need a few dedicated healers and a horrible opposition that doesn't take out said healers. Plus, 70% of that 500k is all buffer/splash damage. Fail #1 -trololololol @ ANYONE solo queuing in rated WZs. Ever. Fail #2

Take that vid with a grain of salt. Dude has no idea what he's talking about or how to even read tooltips. He doesn't even realize that heroic moments can only occur when a companion is out and believes that you must level alts to remain competitive in end game. Fail.

Do we know yet how the BM components will work as a form of currency? By that I mean, will a survivor robe only be currency for WH survivor robes, or can I use the BM Survivor robe for any WH inquisitor robe?

The only thing not balanced is your complete inability to kill his healer. Or kill anyone on their team for that matter. That's pathetic if you guys let a darkness do that much in Civil War.

Do you have any idea how much healing is behind a darkness doing 400k dmg and 200k protec? He's being spam healed the entire time. And that's only in a voidstar turtle. Plus, all of that dmg comes in small incremental bits. You really don't know what you're talking about.

You're seriously confusing our survivability with dmg output. Darkness doesn't do much damage at all when compared to real dps AC's. We just have staying power, as all tank's should. I do agree with you on your stance about madness, however.

If your aim is right and it's 6 of the 8 fires that are on a corner, you can sprint/jump just to the outside edge of the fire at an angle and completely avoid it all together as well. I do it regularly. Large margin for error though so just don't mess up or you'll wind up in the pit. Practice a few times first.

I can jump around the fires using just force sprint as well. This isn't news.

Nice editing for your first vid man. For the laggy bits, it looks more like a frame rate issue. I'd first check that the fps you're recording in and capturing in match. Also, if the recording software isn't compressing the capture during recording, it's important to have the folder path to a different hard drive that the operating system isn't on so your hard drive can keep up with all that's going on. If it's just going to be for youtube, there's little reason to exceed 30fps capture rate as that's the limit for youtube anyways. Good luck and keep pwning bro.

I'd probably try out death field again and see. I mean, there's so many way's to view the pro's and con's of each spec. I LOVE wither in hutball. An aoe slow on everyone beating on me if I'm carrying or slowing a whole team up escorting their ball carrier is a glorious thing. At the same time, if I have reliable heals I'd rather have death field when I'm in civil war or voidstar. Not because of it's aoe ability, but when compared to wither, it inherently carries higher single target damage on whoever I may be focusing.

I don't know the guys vid, spec, or total gear composition, but a lot of the most powerful assassins right now carry a few rakata pieces once they hit a safe expertise level for the added endurance, willpower stats. Since the values are higher as they aren't sharing a space with expertise on the same piece of gear, its the better choice later down the road. As for the shield thing, it's well known that I think it's a waste. Can I do well with a shield? Yes. Can I do better with a focus? Yes. With stalker gear especially, his shield rate would be so low, plus so few types of dmg in a WZ is shieldable, I can't imagine why he would use that. The logic behind it just isn't there for me. He's also kidding himself if he's using alacrity to buff FL. Even casters would rather have other secondary stats and they're stacked with it. Chances are that he's a good PvPer with great gear and some flawed ideas.

Thanks for the edit. I had two people message me in the forums yesterday about nearly the same thing lol. To be honest, I don't think you're going to be able to find the concrete answers you're looking for. When I stand back and look at how successful both specs currently are under two slightly different playstyles and in the hands of a skilled player, no clear "better spec" exists in my eyes. I think both are great. I'm 31/0/10 right now, I've tried both, still not 100% sold on either. I can tell you with certainty though, that when I solo queue(which is a lot more often these days as I'm putting a new vid together) I'd definitely rather be full darkness solely for withers contribution to FL heals. 3 stack HD FL heals is paramount in a 1v2 or 1v3 situation. As for the range of death field, it's never really appealed to me as a "must have." As tankassassins, we're already in the thick of it 99% of the time, though you do have a valid point about using it to break stealth, which can be useful. Now, how often you come into situations like that depends on a lot of factors. Are you solo queues, do you have a healer, are you full premade, what kind of strat and in what WZ are you running, the list could go on and on. If you've tried both and had more success with what you're running now, stay that way and keep pwning.

If you're already carrying BM gear, most are replacing the enhancements from champ gear. Just as an example, if you replace the BM stalker leg enhancement with the BH's Champ Eliminator legging you gain: 14 endurance, 19 power, and replace 37 crit for 48 surge. There are other options for enhancements as well. The key it so find the correct balance throughout while ditching the accuracy since 51 accuracy(a stat BW has literally said "my bad" about many times now) on a single enhancement holds way too much value.

I honestly fee bad for those of you on bad servers where Ilum doesn't work as intended. You guys are missing out. Aside from the frame rate, it's actually quite fun, happens mostly every day for hours and hours at a time, and there's a VERY high number of participants on both sides. Come to Dark Reaper

You purchase Bounty Hunter or Imperial Agent(BH/IA) gear with commendations after you've got your first set of champ/BM gear, strip the enhancements and place them into your pieces that are carrying accuracy.

I listed it all on my first post. Congrats on completely disregarding everything I've shown you and what others in this thread have said as well just because you want to blindly stick to your guns. Adverse to your sad personal attacks, I spend more time in game than I care to admit. Single me out all you want, many other posters in this thread disagree with you as well.
