  1. • 3 years of grinding RNG gear...

    • 2 years of a disastrously implemented server merge which saw all American servers merge to two lone East Coast servers, one whose main population consists of RP and the other made-up of a declining APAC-West Coast playerbase...

    • 1 year of grinding a weekly bosses - of which when not bugged involved a boss which had players spend more time running back and forth from respawn areas. If the player did not make it back to raid in time they did not get credit for defeating the boss.

When 4.0 was launched the chapters and it's associated trailers met with widespread acclaim - if only because the content contrasted positively against Disney's output. 4.0's streamlined currency system made up for any issue with the Outlander story. Once a full set of pvp or raid gear was released the forums were spammed with "more end game content" and for some reason "more group content".

Once 5.0 was released (fewer yet more difficult and time consuming chapters were dropped (all at once as requested) alongside EA's endgame RNG subscribe-to-grind scheme was implemented.

Now three years later we are met with even more RNG mechanics only rearranged to other areas i.e. RNG gear based upon a character''s gear rank or via directly vendored RNG gear boxcrates which now require millions of credits alongside a new in-game currency "tech fragments".

At this point might was convert the title to free-to-play Battle Royale

  2. Companions were just fine just after 4.0's change when influence was introduced. Then a small but vocal minority protested companions being too overpowered. Just like a very small yet vocal minority clamoring to make existing content more difficult alongside increasing repair and gear modding costs.

I have no intention of grinding more difficult Hammer Stations or the raids Eternity Vault and Karagga's Palace.

  3. Current set bonus gets disable the moment you hit lvl 75.

So it won't be usefull after that.

General gear: It will be very usefull during leveling up to 75.

After that, you will be forced to wear the new gear in order to get better gear as you increase your the average raiting.

    • Galactic Command Rank is resetting to 0 for all characters.

    • Numerous currencies are being converted to credits at a low rate. Command Point Consumables, Alliance Recon Data, Command Tokens, Command Gear Pieces, and Unassembled Components.

    • All set bonuses are now on item shells instead of armorings, this change is retroactive.

    • The Commanding Legacy Perk has been adjusted, it no longer stacks but is a 25% increase for Renown gain across the Legacy.

The best part of 6.0 is going to be experiencing the reaction to it.

  4. Does any one know if the following unlocks are account wide or per character?

    [Artifact Equipment Authorization]

    [Customization Control: Display Character Titles]

    [unlock: Quickslots] Unlocks additional Quickbar

I see now that the account-wide price is only featured on the purchase page. I'm getting the all the necessary account wide unlocks for when I go preferred:

  5. Keith = Ben

The Manager who keeps putting RNG gear as a good thing is not a player, but is only after his/her cash bonus from Cartel Market.

I do not blame either former producer "Ben" or current producer "Keith". Eric Musco could be current producer and we will still have 5.0, Ossus, Dantooine, 6.0 style gearing. These are EA mandated systems which are being implemented company wide.

What gets me about 6.0 - other than expansion being 5.0 remixed and renamed, is that there are new gear slots with direct sale gear now requiring credits in addition to 6.0's gear currency "tech fragments" just to purchase a lottery RNG gear crate.

  6. In all seriousness, I ran about 5 flashpoints and 1 warzone last night and got a real feel for the gearing system.

    It's... different.

Think of gearing now more like a journey rather than a destination.

This is not different. "Just play the game" was 5.0 talking points.

6.0 is 5.0 reshuffled with more time spent on grinding end game gear than using end game gear.

I will say, Keith has given me hope for the game to be better than in the past, while that tester's article on swtor

Best thing Keith has accomplished so far was an bug which granted certain planetary dailies and weeklies overgrant CXP.

Worst thing Keith has accomplished was the underhanded server merge which ended up being two East Coast USA servers resulting a massive player hemorrhage from APAC and even some from the West Coast...

That and 6.0 end game gearing. It was offensive that 6.0 even made it to public testing.

I will admit that since 5.0 all of the new strongholds, flashpoints, pvp maps and cross faction queuing were for the most part awesome however.

  7. Most who post goodbye topics announcing they are leaving end up only to return weeks - days - hours later.

Not to worry however as many have already left unannounced due to EA's subscribe-to-grind-to-subscribe end game monetization schemes. That and shutting down the West Coast USA-APAC server "Harbinger".

  8. I have advocated in the past that the weekly master crystal allotment should be tied to the dailies weekly and not the world bosses weekly.

The world bosses weekly should have rewarded everyone one Rated 252 gear crate,

A weekly story mode Queen raid one masterwork crystal along with

keeping the current veteran mode rewarding a monumental crystal.

Even when the boss Kil'Cik wasn't bugged there is the issue of the boss R8-X8 which has players spending more time running back from re-spawn than actually raiding the boss. If the boss R8-X8 is defeated before the player returns than that player does not get credit. This event occurs frequently.

For the past three years many of us spent most of our time grinding for gear than actually really using the gear.

  9. Copero, Umbara and Nathema are awesome environments.

However Copero has the seemingly nonstop "For House Inronkini" chanting while Umbara had to be grinded a dozen times just to get Train stronghold which is not even accessible to the public.

There should be a public Train Stronghold terminal like every other stronghold, mounts should be allowed on Train, and Umbara tokens should be legacy .
