  1. The Malgus and Shan statues are skill trainers, the Revan Holostatue is a vendor. It used to have the gear you could get for basic commendations at one point (or some form of 'basic gear' used to be there anyway), but now, all mine has are green medpacs and stims, despite the item description which states: "Use: Places a holographic image of Revan, which offers items useful to the class of the activating character." That is no longer valid and hasn't been for a good while. I'd like to suggest to anyone at BW who reads this, that either the description be changed, or the holostatue be updated to do what it says, which could be accomplished by adding the 230 tier 1 gear that is sold for command tokens. And maybe toss in the rakghoul vaccine while you have the database open
  2. I know exactly what you mean. I did the Oricon weekly saturday, and during the one where you have to click the 5 escape pods, 3 times out 5 I had someone race over and try to click the pod while I was fighting the mobs. Fortunately I was clicking first and killing later so they got nothing out of it, but still, I had never seen that level of d-baggery on JC before the merge. I have a feeling many, many people are going to be disappointed when UCs start coming from command crate disintegrations. At the moment UCs are the lure to get people into warzones and keep the queues popping. That they would make any other source a viable alternative, and draw people away from wzs, I find very hard to believe.
  3. I doubt they will completely remove the collars, as for some of the companions the collar is the justification for some of their skills, like certain heals. For instance while the Akk Dog heals with its Affectionate Slobber as one ability, it also has Collar Kolto Shield, Kolto Collar Dart and Kolto Collar Scan. Not saying they couldn't heal without a collar, just that the existence of the collar has a purpose. I would however love to see some customizations without the collar, maybe versions of existing customizations and some entirely new ones.
  4. Randomly chosen from any that might be the same level is a horrible, horrible idea. They should know by now that in general, folks do not like to hear the word random. Myself, I have at least 3 level 50 legacies just on the old East Coast servers, and my main legacy was renamed two days before they announced United Forces. That is the only name I want. In one of the last streams I think they said they'll put rename tokens for sale, or do something, but that won't help if I'm still on the 30 day cool down from the last one I used. Surely there has to be a better option. Maybe they could go by achievement points. You can't level to 51, but in theory there's enough time to make the legacy that has the name you want have the highest point total.
  5. My inner cynic tells me that once most of the resellers are in one place and cheap transfers have gone bye-bye, they'll just feed off of each other in a massive orgy of gtn flipping until even the most hideous of items will have prices that are only reachable by the flippers themselves or the ones who buy third party credits. I freely admit though that I have been disillusioned with humanity in general for a very long time.
  6. Maybe BW should consider having the rewards go out on Monday, since the event is locked at daily reset anyway. It wouldn't entirely prevent maintenance from borking conquest achievements, but it would likely cut down on the amount conquest reward related tickets.
  7. If they don't want to give us a drop down menu or way to choose the dailies we want to do from the Galactic Command window, maybe a compromise would be to add them to the actual weekly terminals. That way, people who enjoy randomness can have randomness, and people who want to do specific missions can go where they want and get the mission they want.
  8. It's still unnecessary as the animations don't repeat on other strongholds, so there's what, 5 as precedent for there to a one-time cutscene? On top of which, the animation playing automatically cancels group invites. Not an issue for everyone, granted, but I relocated my base of operations back to Coruscant and Dromund Kaas after spending a fair amount of time making Manaan look nice (and dealing with a veritable cornucopia of other players' naked companions while doing so) due to having to continually say "sorry, send again please" every time I logged a toon in. I still bought the stronghold, since it contributed to conquest points, but there's literally no reason for me to go there until the cutscene is made a one time thing. Not that I'm holding my breath.
  9. You just reminded me of the absolute worst KDY pug I was ever in. It was a group of 3 dps and a tank, and the tank was getting understandably annoyed that one of the dps was chain pulling without letting him get his health up. This started an argument that tanks are useless in a fp, since they "do no damage," and that a dps is a better tank when there's no healer "because they kill faster." It went downhill from there, to the point where they stopped clearing the fp and starting dueling each other, with the other dps whispering me that I should duel him too. When the second round of stupidity started I got fed up and decided eating the lockout was the better alternative. As far as why you see 3 people from the same guild, as was pointed out you'll never notice full groups of 4, and 2 are easily overlooked. I rather doubt that there's some advantage to queuing as 3 instead of 4, other than not sitting idle spamming for that 4th person in guild chat.
  10. Look on the bright side, things could be worse - at least we still have our boot.ini files.
  11. The bugs I've found: *The daily mission from the Galactic Command window doesn't send you anywhere when you hit travel. Not a big deal, but I'm on a slower computer at the moment and the first time I used it I sat staring at my screen for a few minutes until I realized I wasn't going anywhere. *Loading into Iokath automatically dismissed my companion *Completing the mouse droid, monitor or walker dailies not only dismissed my companion right down to the need to use the Companions and Alerts window to get them out again, but also turned sprint off, resulting in me putting it back on a quick bar - something I haven't felt the need to do in about 3 years, when I was still datacron hunting. *Chat and group bugs, but not a huge huge problem for me, as I have done the story on only two characters (out of 38 level 70s), one Imp and one Pub, and chose the same terminal faction as class faction. It has been an issue, though, when forming groups in guild and someone who chose the opposite faction is on Iokath.
  12. Pretty sure this is a result of the name change from tactical to veteran for flashpoints, and hard mode to veteran for ops. Something got mixed up when they changed it. It really needs to be addressed, along with the one conquest event (I think it might be Balance of Power) where the Makeb weekly is supposed to give points - they renamed the weekly mission, but did not update the conquest info. Things like this aren't usually a handicap to seasoned players, but not everyone knows what's going on and it results in people wasting their time.
  13. Try hitting the clear button for the search filter, I had a similar problem even though it looked like there was nothing in the box, clearing it brought up the missing deco window.
  14. Stealth scan works just fine under certain circumstances, like the Trandoshan Stealth Killers in Explosive Conflict. It might also work on those Cartel Poisoners or whatever they're called in Karagga's Palace, can't really remember. I suspect there's some things that aren't really "stealthing," they're basically despawning and respawning, so stealth scan does nothing and debuffs can get cleansed. But that's just speculation.
  15. No idea if it happened in the same patch or not, but I did a fp on a lowbie the other day and got no gear for my efforts. I'm fairly certain that last time I did one, the bosses before the last one gave me blue stuff equivalent to what I'd have received from a heroic, or a piece of purple. This time, there was a random drop on each boss to roll on, all of it 25+ levels higher than me. Or it could have been borderline unusable for anyone, I did a fp on a 70, with 3 others 66-70, and level 7 garbage dropped. Wasn't this supposed to have been fixed at some point? Is this intended? How it's going to be from now on? Because frankly, without any gear drops, I don't see any point to leveling in fps anymore, when heroics will have the gear, give a large amount of exp and don't require you to use the group finder.
  16. It might not be caused by the same problem, but my patch this last time got stuck at 80%. I closed the launcher with the task manager, rebooted and tried again and it worked. Could be a peculiarity of this computer though.
  17. After my group spent half an hour trying to figure out wth was going on, I hit up Google and found a post from January saying it was bugged. But apparently it's not always bugged, which probably makes it difficult to track down the issue. So it's been kinda hit or miss bugged for 6 months. Oddly, there was a line in the patch notes from yesterday that mentioned fixing a door that stopping progress in Trial and Error, but... still doesn't work. Or maybe they meant the first door, where we couldn't get through it even when it was open until the rakghouls killed the npc scientists. Either way, for some people, in some cases, still bugged.
  18. The only ones I ever pugged into were complete wipefests, so frankly I stopped doing them, and seldom see anyone in guild chat wanting to run any except one guy who occasionally tries to scare up enough people to run one on master.
  19. It seems like lately, the number of crashes to desktop I've been getting, is getting out of hand. Three today, and two yesterday. Guildies and randoms have been saying the same thing. Most often, I've heard "I was opening the map, when..." All three of my ctd's tonight were while opening the map (twice on fleet, once in Gods From the Machine). I heard someone say the new Game Mode thing in Windows 10 Creator is doing something bad, or needs to be turned on, or something, but while I have win10, I don't have the Creator thing apparently. Anyone have suggestions or thoughts?
  20. Maybe try another ticket? I had the same problem, sent in a ticket (including the dates, the guild name, the planet, the characters affected) on Saturday, and it was taken care of Monday... all I can suggest is try again, with as much detail as you can give and as politely as you can, and hope you get a different rep. I was a bit surprised that they didn't do a script for those servers affected and get this taken care of, they've done it in the past. Expecting everyone affected to know to send in a ticket, and pretty much flooding CS, seems like an odd decision.
  21. Could not agree more. Back in 2.x, when I was still actively pugging hm fps, one of the tricks I saw quite often was dps queueing in as tank or heal, hoping I guess someone in the group could cover for them or would respec and make up the difference. It never ended well, for anyone Tying the drops to the role you queued for sounds like a great step towards minimizing that, though.
  22. I have two sages I'm fairly active with, one a seer and the other balance. The dps sage was about to become a seer himself, because I felt that as a healer I'd be of more benefit to my team, but I'm the first to admit that I am not the best at sage healing. For some reason I can't do as well as I can on my commandos. Frankly, if they're making them even harder for the average nub to use, I'm out of luck - and options. I don't want to trash them, they're my lowest parsing dps toons, and soon I won't be able to heal my way out of a wet paper bag with them. I suppose the only option left is to use them for crafting and farming. I guess it's a relief, since that's two less toons out of my 38 70's to worry about gearing up.
  23. While most of my experiences have been very lackluster, a few times I have been very impressed. Like today, I had one of those live chat session things with someone who helped me out with a ticket regarding lost conquest rewards from the last rakghoul week. He was courteous, patient with my slow loading PC and we actually joked a bit. So like someone above me said, maybe it's just hit and miss. In fact I seem to recall someone else on the forum saying so a while ago as well. Guess it depends on who you get and what mood they're in.
  24. I would love to see this fixed, or improved, or undone or whatever. I no longer do heroics or dailies in a group unless someone asks, or they're needed to be blitzed for conquest. And when I do have to group, I'll only pick up purple and blue stuff and even then usually watch as my group charges off to the next spawn, where the cycle begins again. Extremely annoying. Counterproductive to group content in an MMO. Please change it.
  25. You can even bypass that timer entirely by mailing it to an alt which strips off the timer and lets you put it in your legacy bank.
