  1. I'm one of few people who actually agree with this. Vaapad was the only light saber technique that could really put a smack down on Sidious. Sidious no doubt had superior sorcery then Mace (or anyone), which against pretty much anyone else meant certain death, but in a close quarters fight, which is what they had, the use of Vaapad was able to hold him at bay and prevent him from putting to use that advantage. If you go by the book it really does appear that he actually looses the fight where as in the movie it looks more like he throws it intentionally. I go by the book because, well, the book is better then the movie in literally every possible way. Mace is really underrated even amongst his fans imo. I don't think people fully comprehend just how unique a Jedi he was. While all the others were very stubborn boyscouts locked in static dogma, he actually walked on the edge of the dark side. He believed the Jedi should of been doing more then they were, and he was the one who was most suspect of the tide turning against them, how, and most importantly why. It was him to lead the investigation to find the truth, and it was him who had nearly reached it, undoing the entire deception and drove Sidious to hasten his game plan for the climax of the clone wars at great risk. I love Sidious, he's probably my favorite character in the entire franchise. But I like the idea that if anybody could stand a chance against him, it would be Mace. And no it has nothing to do with Samuel Jackson. I mostly go by book/comic Mace. My point of view is endlessly debated against though. Most people prefer Sidious to just be completely invincible and infallible up until ROTJ. Yawn.
  2. Oh NOW people are catching on to the reality of the situation. Hah. As a person who thinks the Marvel movies are mediocre distractions at best (and downright terrible at times, actually quite often) I've been worried since day one. They aren't laughably bad like the SW PT, mostly because the source materiel is inherently corny so the movies are only rightfully so unlike SW, but just barely.
  3. Dude, Sidious would use the dark council's heads as mops on his nice shiny red throne room floor. The Sith of this era are like children playing with fire compared to the Sith in the latter days of the Rule of Two. The fate of the Jedi proves it. While the Jedi held on to the old wisdom like it was end-all, the Sith spent an entire millennium making new discoveries that all culminated in Sidious. Then he completely wiped out their entire order. To say Sidious is even equal to let alone worse then even the greatest Sith of this era is to basically say the Rule of Two accomplished nothing.
  4. Plus its a generator, not a focus. So... Noooooope.
  5. Pretty much yes. Honestly, its more of a distraction then something I really enjoy all that much. I mean, that might be more harsh then I intend, the game has good story (for Star Wars) and the social aspect of end-game is nice, but for the most part thats all I really care about, 95% of the time played is just grinding levels/equipment/skills to get to that enjoyable stuff or make it easier. Which is by design, its time sink. Sometiems the grinding is a little fun, cause I mean come on, lightsabers, but most of the time its almost more like work. Easy, casual work, nice distraction, somethign to do while listening to music, but still work. If it wasn't for the Star Wars aspects, IE story, setting, etc, I wouldn't play it. I never liked WoW or any other MMO cause it was this same grinding but with no enjoyable aspect to make it worth it. Idc about Azeroth, but I do care about a galaxy far far away.
  6. Person here, have no problem at all completing them. If anythign they are too easy. They are harder then the sleep walk missions you get while leveling. Sure. But only because they have a bit of an initial learning curve. Maybe you'll die once or twice, or more if your bad at learning. Once you get used to the script though you can recite it over and over without an issue. Let me give you the easiest example, on Duma, pop your emp as soon as the three initial cruisers start to slip past you. With that, and a few missiles to their remaining generators and engines, they should be down before you come across the first fighter. By the time you reach the second set of cruisers you can pop it again. Easiest mission of the bunch. For a harder example, on Cha Rabba, when you pass through the mine fields, the first one is smaller, just keep shields up and don't bother shooting at anything to keep recharge at maximum. As soon as the second mine field starts shooting at you pop your deflector. That will carry you through almost the whole thing untouched, then once your pretty much right on top of the cruiser near the end of the field, hit the emp. This will severely weaken both the cruiser and the two smaller ships that are your primary targets, allowing them all to be easily missled down without even touching your laser cannons, so the power converter can stay on shields the whole mission. Otherwise the only real trick is avoiding those asteroids, which can be tough at first but you get used to it after a few goes. If you want, I can guide you through any mission.
  7. A) Revan fought him 3 centuries ago, very different circumstance. B) I said not much defense AFTER the Wrath. C) The council doesn't really serve him anymore. They stay out of his way for tradition's sake but if they saw an opening to overthrow him they would take it. They almost did with Baras until the Wrath showed up and put the boot down. By personal power I meant without his voice he can't really directly defend himself. He funnels all his power through the voice and when the voice is killed he practically goes into a coma. His true body is a sitting duck, all he can do is influence those around him (not directly controlling them like he does the voice) to defend himself, hence no personal power. He's created his own weakness, he uses a proxy body to avoid death but as a result he's made his real body a big red target that he cannot personally defend. He does a good job of keeping it secured with his guards and Wrath, but like I said, puppets and proxies. Without them he'd be ****ed. Look how easy it was for Baras to trap his Voice. If the Wrath hadn't come along and freed him, Vitiate would be done for. He's a great manipulator, hes very wise and knows very powerful spells, but his style of leadership has cost him his personal strength. You could argue he's ascended above that, but he's still tied to his corporeal body so not really. Sidious on the other hand actually did eventually ascend, Yeah, he used clones, but the reason he was better was because he could go from one to another at will, he wasn't tied to his original body and weakened by the transfer.
  8. I don't think the situation is any different. The voice is dead, and the emperor has all but completely receded from any management of his empire, so the council is probably just assuming his absence is a sign that he's dead. That or the Emperor is spreading misinformation. The Jedi are under the same impression. I think, or at least hope that Bioware are planning for him to make a big come back and die in a real blaze of fire rather then just quietly wither away. Whether that will happen in game or be relegated to a book, idk.
  9. Vitiate really ain't all that great. He's very far reaching, which allows him to be a great manipulator and "manager" but his personal strength is almost non existent. He relies on puppets and proxies to do literally everything. Thats a major Achilles' heel. He has no voice right now, which leaves him especially weakened. Without it, he has no direct way of fending off an attempt at his life, he can only guide his servants to defend his corporeal vessel, and really the Wrath is the only one he has thats capable of doing all that much against something like a council mutiny or another direct assault by the Jedi. The Hands serve more of a cleric role and the royal guard are just glorified henchmen. Powerful henchmen but no dark lords. So take out the Wrath and Vitiate is pretty much just a sack of water waiting to be ended.
  10. If you played those games in their time and not this one then yeah. That's how nostalgia works. You don't get Kotor nostalgia by playing it now, you get if for having played it then. So you have none for it. Older games without it tend to have these identical complaints levied against them, which all boil down to "its outdated." Yeah, of course it is. If you didn't play it when it wasn't, and you're not the kind of person who is able to overlook that (few are, I know I often can't) then no your not going to like the game. Sorry you missed it.
  11. everyones saying no so.. YES! wait what are we talking about? adding servers? you mean after what happened last summer? Uhh. **** uh.... NO.
  12. Play Agent. Cause dat story, so good. So good.
  13. o______o That's a lot more then one daily..
  14. A) Wrong forum. B) You hit cap so fast because all your previous coms got changed into em. Edit: misread didnt notice mentioned multiple weeklys
  15. Its probably an oversight and they intended the corrupted padawan to count as well. Probably very low on any fix list though if its even on one at all yet, so I'd just ignore it for now. Yall should be used to this kind of thing now.
  16. Before I got in-game I thought it sounded horrible. Then I realized the terminal you click on for transport now is literally right next to the shuttle. Take a second to look for it and then its a non-issue. There is of course the point that it seems an utterly pointless change, but it is what it is. Click the little red terminal now instead of the shuttle, wala.
  17. The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins--but in the heart of its strength lies weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more then a candle. Love can ignite the stars. Seriously though, I'm really surprised Yoda won. Bravo to my little green dude.
  18. If they didn't then instead of this thread there would be a thread complaining that the expansion releases at 5am instead of midnight. *shrug*
  19. So now we have to go back to the fleet in-between each daily zone rather then shuttling directly to the next one? o_________________________o Bioware, always taking one step forward and two steps backwards.
  20. You know I could easily say words to insult your intelligence for making such a stupid comparison and completely missing the point at the same time, but I wont. They were a well funded rebellion (entire worlds, including wealthy ones like Alderaan, supported them). Not as wealthy as the Empire obviously, butt they weren't living in frakin caves using antique weapons. Point is, they had sufficient funding, and sincet hey had way less to actually spend that money on, that meant more funding per unit. Empire is rich but it also had to spread it out across WAAAAAY more ****. So in order to build 2 ****in Death Stars, they mass produced crappy chinese star fighters and said "your disposable, raw numbers = win, good luck."
  21. Post is full of wrong. Tatooine doesn't use credits. X-Wing was not gonna replace TIE's, too expensive, defeats the purpose. If some random EU author tossed that claim 20 years ago years ago then disregard it. And no they were not the first fighters with shields and hyper drives.
