  1. Subscription canceled. This patch has drawn the final straw for myself. There are plenty of other games out there, more interesting, less linear, less obviously blatant about milking you for your cash than Swtor. The star-ship parts are only the tip of the iceberg for the Pay 2 Win model. Soon it will be mods for your armor, then legendary items that will clearly be superior than anything you could get in an operation. I love Star Wars, but BW/EA have done what I thought would be unthinkable, match or perhaps even exceed Sony Online Entertainment on being complete douches and ruining a great potential MMO. Well played BW/EA, well played. I have boycotted anything Sony since they destroyed SwG with their Combat Upgrade complete fail overhaul and now I shall boycott your games or services due to the complete ineptitude that have been displayed over this past year.
  2. This, the cruiser that sweeps in from the left as you leave the canyon is the major damage dealer on the shuttle. You have to target his turrets with your missiles and focus on this ship as soon as it reappears on your screen while dispatching the little fighters along the way.
  3. Deception is just as viable as madness in pve. Stop with the misconceptions and discouraging people from playing a well rounded spec that CAN top the dps meters in ops. The last patch gave Deception a nice boost and people should try the spec for themselves.
  4. I love Xalek as my tank. Easy to gear especially as i am a Synthweaver. He holds aggro really well and when i want him to taunt off a mob from me, its never fails to do so unlike Khem. I love Ashara as my main dps companion, she just kicks major tail. Andronikos isn't that bad but annoying to gear. Talos is useless to me as a healing spec sorc good for those crafting missions though. Khem's problem is he simply dies too fast for my tastes and his taunt fails like half the time it seems. Love the attitude he gives in cutscenes though
  5. Corporations play smoke and mirror games when it comes to quarterly Reports. Here what they did was put in the free month sub so they could cover the first quarterly report and make the numbers look better than they actually are. If they went with actual active players that actually log into the game and play, you would see that that number is far lower than 1.3 mil. Smoke and Mirrors, limit the damage of a failed strategy of copying WoW when they should have built a game that challenged their player-base while offering next generation game play. the 2nd and 3rd quarter results will be quite telling if they don't find a way to smoke and mirror their way out again tbh.
  6. heh, all I can say is, how are they (EA) going to be able to cover up the 2nd quarter sub report when it will be at 500k or less. That 30 day promo kept them over 1 mil subs this time but it won't work at the end of June. This game is on the fast track to oblivion. 4 decent North American servers, the rest jokes. Big mistake copying WoW nearly to a T when people are clearly sick of WoW these days. It's like an old blanket and people keep trying to stitch in new colors to the old ratty thing but in the end, all you get is a brighter old rag that is destined for the garbage heap.
  7. Creature Handler was the best profession or class that existed so far and I have played quite a few MMO's in my time. Nothing will compare to taming your own babies and hunting those unique rares. Sorry Wow Hunter doesn't even COME CLOSE to the experience of being a CH. SwG was a great game until they made a few mistakes starting with allowing Jedi to be playable which ruined the player economy and combat with an overpowered profession that unbalanced the entire game. Then not designating areas for housing and allowing people to place them virtually anywhere also led to cluttered up worlds as well. Finally once people figured out the combat system and realized it was all about the mind pool, the end was fast approaching. Combat Upgrade pretty much put an end to SwG's good days unfortunately, but for a good solid year to year and a half, there was no other game out there that comes CLOSE to what it offered. Now for Swtor, it is basically just another WoW clone with Star Wars skins and sounds, and a very poorly put together version of it as well. Too much hype, very horrible management and development with no light at the end of the tunnel glowing to give the player-base hope for a brighter future. Only a handful of servers having enough people left on them to actually do anything worth anything. Time to toss Swtor over on the trash heap with War, AoC, Matrix Online, City of Heroes and the other totally crap titles that have come and gone the last few years. SwG Pre-Cu > Swtor by far.
  8. This ability is great, best animation for assassins in the game in my opinion. Low slash and tumult him to death, if you didn't quite make it, assassinate to finish it off. Likely Sorcs won't use it that much but there's always some idiot weak mob that runs up to you and tries to slash you while your casting your lightning. shock and tumult, gnat solved.
  9. SwgEmu i think hes refering to, which will soon if not already in alpha stage. Pre-Cu SwG, the original greatness that it was, just a few things still not all the way back yet, CH,Bio-engineer and droid maker professions are still unfinished
  10. Too little too late, this game is dying so utterly fast and people just want to turn the blind eye to it and say this game is great and growing. bullocks! The surge of people returning for 1.2 are flowing out the door so fast, it will literally make your head spin. The fatman had a 700 man que just two weeks ago, and the last few nights, no que whatsoever. Nearly all servers are at light to standard (standard being maybe 50-75 on fleet stations in prime time, virtually no one on the various planets) The game had potential but the absolute total mismanagement by the game developers have done a great job in virtually killing this game barely 5 months into release. In all honesty, there has to be some SOE devs working here, it is the only company that even compares to the level of incompetence that has been displayed since launch. For the record, my main toons are on Port Nowhere (officially a dead server in my opinion), my guild had a solid 80 people playing at launch, now there are 3 on during US primetime. There are bugs that were in this game during beta that are STILL in game. Xalek's absorption and shield ratings not working, SOA encounter still borked, chat windows not remembering their settings when you switch servers, etc etc. Love star wars and all, but it is time to find something else to play unfortunately.
  11. Basically you use your toggle for more power to lasers, you barrel roll as much as you can when enemies are head on with you or you have capital ships blasting you with rear facing guns, you hold right click and mouse over multiple targets on cap ships to get all 5 missiles firing at once. When you hit a lull in enemies, you toggle over to shields and regen quickly, when your faced with those masses of fighters coming at you all at once, bust your emp so they can't target you and mouse hover and fire missiles at them, all the while blasting them with long range laser fire. Barrel roll, barrel roll and more barrel roll, learn to target while rolling and the missions will start dropping by the wayside.
  12. *Wonders when the devs will get around to fixing Xalek's absorption and defense stats that have been broken since BETA?* He is useless as a companion till that is fixed.
  13. The sound issue where you can barely hear them is in actuality a surround sound effect. Take a look the next time you get the muffled companion voice and see if he isn't behind you. I noticed that when i turned an ear towards them that the voice started coming in plain as day.
  14. Agreed with the OP but only to a point. TOR is too easy BY FAR, hence why I am unsubscribed with the last few days running out for now. Tor will not die however, enough people still love the leveling experience just yet, although it is fairly obvious that server merges will be happening by the fall of the year. OP's were so easy that my guild was geared within a few weeks and once the gear is obtained then people simply quit logging in. The fun from these games comes from the sense of accomplishment that comes with defeating a particularly hard and hellish encounter and the progression that comes with moving on in the instance. It SHOULD takes weeks and months to complete an OP, not have it completed in 3 hours with minimal wipes as Tor's OP's currently are. Bring back a level of difficulty to the end game content and you will find the interest will return by the bucketful eventually. The damage has already been done with the current gear tier though and it will be interesting to see if they see where they bungled and correct the mistakes.
  15. Girls that play games rock, enough said! I have grown up playing games from the good old hand-held football game circa 1978 till now. I have played alongside and against many a female, some horrible, some super skilled, some that were blatant about their gender, others that you had to hear over voice chat before you realized that the HE was really a SHE but in the end, it does not matter what gender you are. You are who you are and I will take you as you are, however you portray yourself towards me is how you will get treated by me. Btw, i prefer to play female characters in these type of games. It is just a choice and i do find it a bit humorous when aforementioned "pimply teenager" starts trying his "game" via the chat, but it gets shut down very quickly. Good for a laugh though heh. All the respect to the women gamers out there, I have met quite a few over the years that can beat the pants off just about any guy out there.
  16. SwTor is basically a single player game masking as an MMO. This game lacks any type of true social aspect that would bind a community together. There are no reasons to form hunting parties or just gather at the local cantina and shoot the bull. That is a major reason why this game will not hold a lot of people. MMO's need options to come together to accomplish things. Sure, you can go into FP but they don't last long and the repetitiveness quickly bores you to tears. Ops are far too easy to hold any guild's attention for very long either. People want to do different things, not the same ole crap over and over again. Variety is an undervalued commodity these days and game producers have completely forgotten it due to the success of a certain game that we will not utter the name of. In the end, the game has its good parts (story) and its terrible parts (end game content and lack of social aspects) so its truly up to the person's playstyle and preferences. For me, my account is now cancelled, bored to death with the repetitiveness and after playing aforementioned game for years, the similarities here to that are too much for me to bear again. GL with the game, enjoy what you enjoy to play but I truly hope that the devs incorporate some sandbox type activities that can be used to enhance the players experience.
  17. Xalek has been bugged since release, when will they get around to fixing it? no one knows
  18. There used to be a nice workaround before they decided to make Ilum irrelevant by giving tokens in regular WZ and that was to switch instances of Ilum from 1 to 2 if you got the "this item is already in use" message. Can't do that anymore though. :/
  19. Krellbon Tabear, former Architect of the first Legion city on Naboo, eventually Rifleman/CH on the Eclipse Server! Neo-Rome was our home city after they implemented the city halls etc, VtS was the tag Imperial all the way! Krellbon Tabear was also on Starsider joined in with the Galactic Liberators (GL) whose home town was Ziost on Lok where all the good pvp used to happen. Was a Master Doc/Swords and sold plenty of buffpacks from my guildhall outside of Theed. Good times!
  20. Krell-bon from Eclipse server SwG good times. btw there is a pre-cu SwG Emu out there, search it up, they are fixing to go into alpha testing in the next month or so.
  21. Basically what I do with my healer companion is make sure he is set to active, med watch on, and disable ANY AND ALL dps abilities he has on his bar. This forces him to just heal and use his freeze move. Works like a charm.
  22. To me, deception is all about single target dps combined with stealth for getting into and out of sticky situations. It will provide you solid steady dps in almost any situation along with the ability to pick your fights as you see fit. It is not the easiest playstyle as you have to watch for static charge buildups and Maul procs along with using your dps cooldowns at the right times but if your on top of your game, it can pretty much rock almost anything on your own.
  23. If you don't have Talos then it is a good strategy against Elite mobs to keep Force Slow on him and kite him around while your dps companion eats at him. You can keep him at bay with that and Lightning and hit him with shocks and jolts etc. Stay out of any AOE effects on the ground as well. If you have Talos, its easy mode, just go through your rotation, build up static charges and hit him with recklessness and overcharge saber combined with discharge and shock for nasty burst damage.
  24. Mine is Anasàzi. Inspired by the sci-fi show Andromeda which had a character named Tyr Anasàzi. The name was cool so I nabbed it and it works well as a surname for my characters.
