  1. Yeah, but less than before. Since 7.0 Ive been playing more other games and less SWTOR. For me the gearing system is definitely a part of it. Not being able to get anywhere near max gear. Especially since MM FP's dont pop much...I just feel far less motivated to do the whole gear grind. I know some people really do not get it, but for me being able to max out my gear is important, even though I do not participate in NM Ops. I did not know it mattered this much, but it does. The other thing is that some classes just got a more boring rotation. So I stop playing more quickly because it becomes repetitive sooner. Not complaining, just stating facts.
  2. If only that was it, but I am in fact level 75 at the moment. So level has nothing to with it. I am a founder too, that is why I know that the hatred and dissapointment are different from before and I have more reason than ever to believe founders are actually leaving. As this 'expansion' is considered the worst one based on fairly objective criteria, I have no reason to doubt it either. Not what this thread is about though. This is about BW stopping me from playing the story chronologically. And in broader sense, their tendency to mess with the original game for no good reason. TL;DR: you are wrong
  3. Hello everyone, So I sometimes create a new character to go through the (arguably) best content of SWTOR: the original story. As I am doing that not for rewards or speedy leveling or anything, I like to stick to the story chronologically . So I want to play all the content in order to follow all the events of levels 1-50 (with the exception of OPS). As of 7.0, I can't. Which is pretty frustrating. I understand that you want to discourage people from running HS all day, but did you think about the consequences of this incredibly unfriendly solution? I am stuck at Balmorra now, it is time for me to do the Bonus series and I cannot get the quest. I can even talk to the questgiver after which nothing happens. Surely there must be a way to make both a rotational system and still allow us to play all the content. It was bad enough that quite a few quests were cut from the original game and you made it so you have to opt in for half the quests...and now this. Please just leave the best part of this game intact. Especially since 7.0 seems to be driving away your older players, It would be smart to be friendly to new players that want to enjoy the whole story, no?
  4. Well they used to be called [Heroic+2] and [Heroic4] so that was a pretty clear indication of the amount of players generally needed. So originally they were not 'meant' to be soloed. Of course you can solo pretty much any group content theoretically Heroics being group content was their philosophy at launch at any rate. Honestly I have no idea where they are at now. I know they made all heroics easier at some point so you would never need a full party anymore. That quote you posted must have been true at some point, I am not disputing that. So it would be useful for us players to know what BW's thought on HEROIC content is now.
  5. Scaling presence surely is an odd thing to do. Though I feel someone has to say this: Heroics were not meant to do solo. Hence why they are called Heroics. So yeah, having a tough time doing group content solo actually makes sense. Now I know people have gotten used to the easy mode SWTOR usually is. So in that regard it is a nasty surprise. But otherwise...from a design perspective this is far more logical.
  6. I just came in here to say that I find this post pretty dang funny, well done
  7. I actually agree with you though it sure isnt popular opinion. Most of my characters I have had for years and their combat style became part of their identity. So I will not be using different styles at all. I might have to go through the hassle of picking one for all of them anyway just to get rid of the quest.
  8. I get it and I will probably stick around to see what comes next. But an 'expansion' should not make things worse, that is so disheartening. I can handle the fact that there is not much new content. Dissapointing, yes, but there is quite a bit to do in SWTOR regardless. But poor quality, that hurts. I do not care about other combat styles which is one of the few things supposedly good about this update. So that leaves me with an uninspired story with very little replayability value, less skills and a UI where I now have to go look for my stats instead of them being there in a nice overview. Oh man to think that I have to run all my 24 characters through Manaan :/
  9. I mean, of course you are allowed to be happy about the expansion. The problem for most people is that it is WAY smaller than previous updates, for the first time there are no new planets, it is far below market standards in pretty much every way, the Manaan story has no relevance to the greater story arcs, there have never (as far as I can remember) been so many bugs in an update and the UI and gearing system took a massive step back. So yeah, that leaves little to be happy about. Honestly I would have prefered no 'expansion' over this crap. I really, really do.
  10. To be fair, Revan was bugged when SoR came out. It is a lot easier to forgive when there is a decent expansion around it though. Rather than an uninspired downgrade.
  11. It is WAY too late for that. I am not giving more money to a company that I do not trust anymore. They chose the wrong direction for this game so it would just be more of the wrong stuff. I am seriously thinking about going parasite myself. Just doing the vanilla class stories one more time before bowing out. Too bad they screwed up the leveling experience too so even that won't be as good as it used to.
  12. Yes I will be adding to the negativity because I am frustrated. The biggest problem is that after 10 years the update BW figured we wanted was endless corridors of tedious fights. I have just finished Manaan on both sides and already dread having to do that again with other charachters. Not since the mining platform on Makeb have I been so bored. At least there you had a great view. And let me be clear, I prefer the original mining platform over this new expansion. To make matters worse, losing abilities and utilities means it all takes extra long. All of that could have been mitigated by a decent story...but there wasn't one. I bet they just picked Manaan so they did not have to create a new planet. Because there was no story at all to it, on either side. It just distracted from the main story. Yeah this way we have a 2 hour expansion and that was probably the point. But it is as dissapointing as it is disheartening that 90% of that time is used clearing trash mobs out of a hallway. PS: I liked KotFe and KotET both and could easily tolerate the skytrooper fights because of all the other stuff that was happening and because of the story. I feel I have not been overly critical of Bioware either. But man, there is a limit.
  13. Indeed, nothing seems to be happening... EDIT: took a while but Im in now
  14. Ive got the exact same problem. Since the launcher just dissapears it is impossible to find out what happends to it too. I was going after the titles which will be hard to achieve if I can't log in
  15. Nope, hearing the voice of the characters makes me far more attached to them. It is a great deal more immersive this way and should remain so. If they would want to go that way in terms of reduced costs then let them start by removing French and German VO... (I am allowed to say that as I am a none native speaker ) However the biggest problem with that would not even be that English would be the only available language, but that their characters would change voices...that would bum me out for sure.
  16. No, I will not. I have got 24 characters that I got to know quite well over the past 10 years. Their combat style is part of who they are to me. If I decide to make more alts I may try some variations, though I feel combat styles and classes fit well together as is. Definitely not all combinations would work for me immersion-wise.
  17. I would really like to know whether this will be fixed before 7.0.
  18. I myself am quite dissapointed were not getting any new planets. That was always a big part of the expansion fun. So we have less abilities, no way to min-max gear anymore and a relatively small story update. How exactly do they think they are going to keep people interested/paying subs? Because a trooper with a sniper rifle isnt going to cut it I'll be around because I assume they will give us an update with modable gear quite quickly considering the feedback they are getting. Heck Ill probably be around because I have been for 10 years. All the same Im a bit dissapointed
  19. I know you guys are busy with 7.0, but I hope you realise that this bug has to be fixed before the expansion launches.
  20. Seriously, who is saying that they want max gear without effort? This is such an elitist attitude. I would not mind doing harder content to get the highest level gear, or needing to put in time and effort. There are potentially so many other ways to do that than OPS, which is the only option were getting. I dont have time to raid for hours an end. That has nothing to do with my skill level, commitment or willingness to 'put in the work' so to speak.
  21. People have been outraged by changes in SWTOR many times before. Usually I do not share their pessimism and I am not bothered that much by the changes or even like them. This is the first time I agree with the outrage and fear the (quite serious) consequences. Right now I rather they don't release 7.0. I love new content and story yet I would rather wait another year for them if it means they would reconsider the new gearing system. I spoke to one of my guild leaders recently and he honestly believes that when 7.0 hits, the guild will have to be run by a skeleton crew. This guild has been around since launch. That is worrying. No the game won't die, but the update can make me lose my motivation to play. If that happens, I will unsub...after 10 years. Allow me to get modable gear at max level. Lock it behind difficult solo missions or MM FPs, that's fine. But do not punish me for not having the time for OPS. Let OPS players have their superior augments or shinier armor. That is not a major driver for me anyway. Gearing up to the max and the occasional min-maxing is an important goal since there are not enough story updates to keep me (or anyone) going. 6.0 gearing was not perfect, but it kept me busy plenty.
  22. So let me get this straight. We are going from a gearing system that is friendly to everyone, to a gearing system that is friendly to almost no one? Sound strategy. I can't wait to buy new augmentation kits for all of the gear for all of my alts every few months. Or to know that there is modable, high level gear which I will never see because I dont have time to raid for hours on end. Or to be forced to complete weeklies within a week to gear up decently. Sounds fun for my 23 alts. And GSF/PvP will pretty much be pointless for me too because I only join them occasionally. Compared to 1.0 the new system isnt that bad. But things got a lot better since then and reverting to a crappier gearing system will make a lot of people unhappy. Nostalgia can be good, regression is not.
  23. Eh this system seems convoluted and frustrating. It actually discourages players from trying new things. This means that if I have an easy month and I play a lot of OPS, and I have a busy month after that with no OPS, I will not be able to upgrade my gear at all. Or I have to start all over again gearing a different way. And if I am into GSF for a couple of weeks, all the gear I picked up there will be useless if I am done with GSF for a while afterwards. And if I feel like doing a FP once a week, I either gear up extremely slowly, or it does nothing for my gearing... I am at a total loss as to what the idea behind this gearing method is. What it definitely does not do, is cater to casual players
  24. This thread should absolutely stay on the first page.
  25. Thanks a lot for this one. I just doubled my money overnight with zero effort, spending CC's I got for free from Galactic Season.
