  1. Of course it's an illusion. You can't have real choices that have real consequences down long, windy decision paths with millions of people playing. Everyone would chose a unique route and how would you program the infinite possibilities? But at least it is fun and there are some consequences, even if a little generic. It's a change of pace and I like the way it's going.
  2. This is the first MMO I've played that had companions, not just alts, but companions. So for me, this is an interesting argument.
  3. RE: Companion button OK, I see that it wouldn't solve the entire problem. But that button would take the guess work out for newbies and some pugs. It would also be a statement from BW saying that companions are separate from players. So maybe that's why there isn't one. BW doesn't want to make that statement, they want the players to play the way they want, and figure it out amongst ourselves.
  4. Someone brought this up before, maybe even within this thread but I support the idea of a "companion" roll button. So it would be: Need > Companion > Greed Simple solution. Of course, until that happens, communication is best. If I see everyone greeds something, I'll ask if I can need for my companion. It's only polite.
  5. All us player characters are super-attuned with the force. It's what makes us special. We always run without tiring, we can jump our own height, fall from great heights, defeat multiple opponents at the same time. All because we have a special connection to the force. Otherwise, we'd be the NPC's distributing quests...
  6. I'm just going to quickly say this: I didn't read the entire post, just the first question: Is there a reason for items only being listed for 2 days. I think the answer is in the fact that the GTN is a database that could get enormous over time with items listed for longer periods. So to keep it at a reasonable size, they limit listings to 2 days. You can re-list, but it keeps the database smaller. Smaller database = smoother functions.
  7. I'm on Hyperion Cannon, which is a pretty heavily used server. But I'm having trouble unloading my greens and blues on the GTN. It seems to me that there are waaaaay too many green and blue drops during quests and the market is flooded with a ton of gear that, while named differently, have pretty much the same specs. Usually, in games like this, weapons sell pretty well but I have two blaster rifles that I can't unload. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. Or if it even is an issue.
  8. Complaining about the complainers...always a classic.
  9. I'd like it for personal reasons. It would give me a tool to see how well I am performing and provide feedback which would allow me to improve my gameplay. But if it's used to kick someone out of a group...meh, that would suck.
  10. ^^ This. It's like people arguing against putting radio in cars, saying it ruins family interaction. Just turn it off. And when I am unable to find a group to do a FP at an appropriate level, I am missing out on content that I have/am paying for.
  11. It helps re: the playing all the content I paid for aspect. And just because there's a LFD tool doesn't mean people still can't try to connect in general chat, just like you are doing. It just adds a feature, doesn't prevent you from playing the way you want to play.
  12. Sad thing, I'm on Hyperspace Cannon, a "heavy use" server, imperial side.
  13. No misunderstanding on my end. I agree. We need to be able to access the entire population of users, across servers, to fill groups for flashpoints and heroics.
  14. I think if using the force for DS causes such horrible disfigurements, it should be the same fore LS users. Seems to me that the force is the force. It exists and doesn't make judgements on how it is used. So maybe one of the side effects of using it too much, whether LS or DS, is skin blemishes. Either that, or as the previous post says, LS users turn into Katy Perry. (Tebow is sooo dark side...)
  15. Allow me to be the first: LOL! Nice last name... Oh, I'd quickly create a new character and name him 'Hard' Maybe a trooper or BH
  16. My character never did Hammer Station because I could not find a group on a Friday night. I spent one whole Friday looking to run that, and there were 125+ on the server, but it never happened. I'm DPS so that's one problem, but there weren't that many groups running it that night. Probably just coincidence, but still, it shouldn't be that I miss a Flashpoint on a Friday night due to lack of interest. So I hope to check it out with my alt at some point. So what should I do? Spend Saturday there too? I moved on, went to Balmoore (sp?) and continued my story line. But I think a LFD tool would have helped me experience all the content I pay for.
  17. It's too hard to find groups as it is now. No one wants to drop the quest they're currently on to travel across the planet to do one heroic. It could take them longer to make the travel than work the heroic quest. So it seems that the only people that do group up are those that happen to be in your area and thinking about that quest at the time. And even with a population of 100+, that may not be many people, and in my experience, means there is rarely anyone available. And as far as community - how many of you group up for a heroic quest (or maybe two) and then say "thanks for the group!" and go on your way, never to talk with those people again? How does that build community? That's just random interaction, if anything, it's not like they're now your best friends. (That may happen, but it's very rare.) So I'd be fore a LFD tool. So I can actually do all the content I pay for.

    Lol

Interesting. My situation is similar. I have rolled at least 24 characters to level ~10+ Took forever to figure out what names I wanted, what they should look like etc. If I realized I hated the name or the look, I'd just re-roll. Also, I was worried that the quests/story lines after the 10+ would get diluted and go downhill. But now I have my characters all squared away and I'm looking forward to the agony of determining my legacy name...god forbid I screw that up! So for you to do that from level 20? Deserves a salute. /Salute
  19. Eh...I've played WoW since open beta. But I'm lost on the LFD acronym. What's that mean? Looking for dungeon?
  20. Funny thing...in the end, it's all a grind. It's just entertainment. You could log in and hit the space bar all day and it wouldn't change anything in your life, but if it amuses you go for it! It's just a diversion from RL. Personally, I'm digging it for now. It is an amusing diversion and I'll play it until it bores me. I played WoW for 6 years before that happened...so who knows?
  21. In Windows 7 I found them here: UserName/My Documents/Star Wars - The Old Republic/Screenshots
  22. Yeah, I noticed that too...but the reward was pointless.
  23. OK...you just read the title. I know what a heroic is, but what's the point, other than XP, if there are no commendations or alignment points?
