  1. OP, I agree 100%...Day one here, bought on the premise I was getting an MMORPG...this current iteration is not an MMORPG...as someone else said its a single player game (and honestly not a very good one)...so basically at this point Im paying for a single player game every month for the next 12 months....yeah thats craptastic... But understand, while I and many others here agree with you, you are going to get smashed by EA/BW Screaming Fanboi's...who will swear that whatever BW does is the BESTESTMOSTAWEZOMESTCOOLEZTTHINZEVERZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will be here on the day BW says "Oh, Yeah were shutting it down today...but for an additional $20 You can take a final Pic of your toon with the Star Wars Logo Behind You" Saying how considerate BW is, and can I give you more than $20....
  2. F2P Does that to EVERY MMO, it always brings in the lowest common denominator, as you often see on the Forums...
  3. But choices DO matter in this expansion...You choose to open your wallet and Give BW/EA your money...thats the choice that matters... Oh, Im sorry you ment for you and your toons...who cares...its not really a choice that matters...
  4. I do not pay my monthly subscription for a single player game, with a rehashed story from ME3...that now has removed one of ts only selling points, VO from characters... But sadly Im still here, and Im pretty sure you will be too
  5. Exactly...without the various plots for each class, its just like any other wannabe WoW clone...and honestly KotFE really didnt fix this, it just brought how bad the story was into the open (Well for those of us who didnt think KotOR was the greatest game ever). Those of you who have played other games know how much of a rip-off this supposed great story was from ME...I honestly cant tell the characters apart, but I digress... It gets one play through, was beat in a couple hours...and I was like this, you hyped this...how sad...but apparently EA/BW thinks its KotOR fanbois will keep it going, I dont know about that, I dont have their METRICS...but most players, and guildies I know came for an MMO not a KotOR clone...and honestly a poorly done KotOR clone... Hopefully this game will keep the KotOR fanboi's happy, and I hope they enjoy it...
  6. Here ya go, I agree...one of the greediest cash shops in any game I play, and thats saying something.... But, theyre not gonna change it...they get the money...its that simple. We can ***** and moan, but enough people buy the stuff for them to make money...like someone else said, the ONLY WAY youre gonna get them to change pricing is if sales drop. I mean significantly drop, not a few people but a few thousand people...and it aint never gonna happen, it would be awesome...but its just not gonna happen....
  7. PuG is usually used in a derogatory fashion, denoting a random group that has no idea how to do a mission...wether this is due to incompetence, laziness, not paying attention, or playing said mission for the first time...
  8. You know whats sad I see better community responses, and fulfillment from a totally F2P game...you would think with the Star Wars name on this game, they might want to treat the customers a tad better. Unless of course EA/BW dont really plan for this to be around for the long term... I dont understand how devs, and especially the Community Managers, completely ignore their players...but like I said, I play games where the Devs/CM's actually talk to players...everything from character design, game design, powers, etc...theyll have at least one or 2 posts a week...from all different departments... Again, Im just a little baffled...
  9. Not exactly true...EQ drops their Expansions for about $60 and they sell...they dropped an expansion last month....it sold, well from what I hear. So youre telling me that a GOOD expansion, with a story that was decent (Doesnt have to be 8 seperate stories, but enough of a difference in each story to set it apart), some end game content, and I suppose a little PvP...this wouldnt sell for $60...well if thats true, SWTOR is in trouble anyways...Sure it wont sell the Millions that a WoW expansion sells, but it would sell...
  10. Well alot of people I know, really dont consider EA/BW doing much for SWTOR...Sure we have an expansion, that you can beat in a couple hours, with new pieces coming every few months youll beat in an hour or less...and BTW you have to be subbed to get that expansion...sadly this is the only reason they can keep their sub numbers up at all... Personally, I dont like WoW, played for a week thought its graphics were crap compared to EQ's and moved on...but seriously they have easily, EASILY five times the subs this games got...I know, I know F2P...and that brought in the shinging lights of the universe here didnt it...Wether WoW moves forward with its new expansion, and film (Which in the MMO community is being hyped already) well see.. But just cause Star Wars has new movie coming out as well, doesnt mean that were going to get tons of new subs...I personally think youll pull in tons of new F2P scholars, and special snowflakes...well see.... Both WoW and SWTOR arent going anywhere for a couple years...just so both can be beat like a dead horse to make all that cash fall out...and we all know EA is experts at getting cash to fall out...
  11. That video got it wrong in the opening seconds. He says: "The thing about story modes or story-oriented players is they consume content rapidly." I thought content locusts were the end-game Raiders. Consume end-game content rapidly and move on, drop sub for months until new end game is released. Its only hard-core raiders with first server kills that do that...most other Raid Guilds stay focused on finishing content, and completing catch up raids... Actually with some of the stuff Ive heard from my guildies, and Ive read here and on general chat...alot of players plan to do the same with this expansion...drop the sub until all the story is finished then resub and figure it out from there. So no real difference between story fans and hard-core raiders... I can honestly see their point, EA/BW should have waited a few months more and tossed in a raid, and maybe a PvP world...that way you would have guaranteed subs for a little longer... I see a mass exodus in the next few months, due to boring repetitive content (OLD boring repetitive content)...and lack of more story...its just not worth it to sub for a an expansion that isnt going to be complete for months, and at most gives an hour of gameplay...I hope not...but I kinda see the writing on the wall Also while WoW has been going strong for 10 years, lets not forget that EQ has continued for 16 years now and just released a new expansion...and its NOT for a casual player...
  12. It was funny the first 20 times it dropped...after that...its just irritating... Ive played alot of other MMO's, and I think this is the first time Ive seen a major loot table crap up like this, without the community flipping out, and the devs doin their best to fix it... So either this community is super easygoing...or players just dont care about loot... Im kinda thinkin its in the dont care camp...
  13. No man, it seriously is that bad...I mean its so bad Im on the point of not checking greens... They REALLY need to check drop tables...
  14. Exactly I havent seen a single datacron deco drop since 4.0...I honestly did not mad farm them or anything but I was guaranteed 1 per planet on each of my toons...but since 4.0 almost all blue drops are companion gifts... Went through planets on my alts, even asked in general and no one had seen any...
  15. Now, I know it happens to me alot. It happens to guildies alot...but Ive honestly think I saw a post once, maybe, about this issue... What is up with the damn jerky recipe..I honestly have it drop 3 sometimes 4 drops outta 5 for greens...I dont even want to look at green drops anymore because its almost guaranteed to be there. You cant sell it on GTN, because the stupid amounts up there, its not worth selling to vendors...Are BW planning that we all need Jerky in the continuing story?...Is Jerky now mandatory for class questing? Maybe BW should take a look at...I dunno...drop tables maybe.... Before 4.0 Id average a green after about every 10-15 kills and it would be decent after 4.0, about the same rate...but seriously Jerky... Before 4.0 Blue maybe once an hour or two...nice drop, either keep it or sell on GTN after 4.0 maybe a little less often, and of the probably 40 Ive gotten since launch of 4.0 only 2 have not been companion gifts... Before 4.0 Purple took me a while to get a drop...maybe once, sometimes twice a game session...always something valuable for either my toon, or GTN after 4.0 Ive seen 4 since 4.0 and ALL have been companion gifts... So am I and my guildies the only ones this is affecting, or are other players so apathetic that they just dont care...or am I totally in the wrong area of the forums (If so, sorry)
  16. Did they fix the drop rates...Im personally tired of getting the damn Jerky almost every other green drop!!!!
  17. Admittedly Ive not played PVP yet in SWTOR, but in EVERY other MMO Ive ever played...killing is pretty much the object...kill as many as you can as fast as you can. Im sorry, if youre character is weak, you should be killed first...its how it works. Now being a douchebag after doing it is not cool...but killing you yep. So dont feel bad if youre character gets killed cause it weak...nature of the game...look at it this way, with the way you guys are whining about it...be happy the PVP'er is taking time to kill your totaly worthless toon...hes doing you a service, after all you dont wanna be there...hes just getting you out faster...
  18. Then you and other wanting this are going to be screwed, theyve already said, that they will be REDUCING the amount of direct sale items... Honestly, I see a lot, lot, lot less direct sale items in the future...theyve already put some direct sale armors in the Gold Armor crate...I see where this is going, do you
  19. I dont even play PVP, I dont Like PVP...but I agree 100%, if you want the companion you should have to EARN them...not ruin someone elses gaming experience because your more important than everyone else... They should make a PVE companion that has to be grouped with 20, that PVP players have to do so they can make that experience for PVE players miserable...that would be fair... Seriously, quit being whiney sissies, and just play...acting like a self-entitled douchebag is pretty pathetic... Or dont get the companion...its pretty simple...
  20. I got the feeling theyre gonna try and slowly turn it completely into a single-player experience...but still expect the MMO fans to fork out a sub, I wont be suprised if in the next few months they determine theyre loosing money from sub loses, because why pay the sub for maybe an hours new content...when instead we can wait till its all released, and sub then..then I see them doing something realy craptastic like, the only way to get the expansion is to be subed for every month it comes out...sadly though I can see people still fighting that this is a good idea...
  21. Just start buying HYPERCRATES...pretty much what theyre wanting you to do...charge ya more for that item your looking for, and no guarantee that youll get it...you just have to buy more and more and more and more....
  22. KOTOR...it was ok...played it through Light...Played it through Dark...then after I was done, into the bins with all my other old games... Same with KOTOR 2...bought both in the clearance bin...was kinda glad I did...no replayability killed it for me... Thats my current problem with 4.0, I just honestly dont understand how someone could want a single-player game, thats just pretty much cut-scenes...no real game-play...no longevity...if I knew STWOR was going to be this...I never would have bought the Deluxe Edition, nor would I have subbed for the time I have...I would have waited for it to be on clearance, played through Light, Dark...and into the old game collection..
  23. Not really...Star Trek Online offered the option back in 2010...and its still around and just released its expansion... Some do the lifetime (Mostly for the Perks), some do monthly...just depends on how much you want to invest...Im a lifetime STO player, and its well worth it with all the perks.... SWTOR, would have to offer some seriously cool **** to make it worthwhile for this game though...
