  1. Mini-Update? And youre getting this newsflash from where exactly? This thread is just aagghh, really, signing off...
  2. Well i aint a psychic so i cant say whats going to happen or not in the future of SWTOR, it seems u can tho. The average size of patches have nothing to do with this talking. The fact is the numbers and the numbers speak for themselves. I aint deluding no one, you and all the would be naysayers of this game with their ridiculous views of how the end content should be made and lack of it, are deluding SWTOR community. And btw, if you go down the road that patch 1.3 was hardly a content patch, i suggest your read more carefully around 50% of all the content patches of WoW ive just added, you might be suprised. A content patch is a content patch period. FACT = Released content of SWTOR is bigger than WoW, EQ2 and LOTRO in average date/time line and thats what matters, u dnt like it, well tough luck, thats a fact and its not going to change. FACT = The number of megabytes downloaded on any of the mentioned games are not really related to anything since i aint yet seen any content patch on SWTOR lower than at least 800mb-1gb, if my memory doesnt fail me, for example WoW patches were about the same size and im betting my *** LOTRO ones would be the same. Besides i aint seeing where is that info or even if its available at all. The point is that a content patch is a content patch, you might think it has low content order and i might think otherwise. It all comes down a to personal taste. On an unrelated point, about when i called u a wiseass. Yeah i did called you wiseass cause it is what you are. You could have approached me in a different manner but your prefered to be all arrogant and sarcastic about it, in my book, those attributes/flaws are directed to wiseasses type of personality. And since you just will not give up your thicked point of view, cause like i said, against facts there can be no arguments, ill just put on my ignore list. Ure just another player that the SWTOR community will way better off. Honestly, hope you do return to WoW or whatever hole you have camed from.
  3. Agreed, alltough i aint saying that i have anything against their comments, i was just saying that its cleary obviously that the more they say the worst to the SWTOR community. This community is allready too much speculative as it is so.. bleh As for myself i would say for EA/BW to keep them coming, since i aint at all a speculation type of person, so i do appreciate them and they have been the most open minded company in MMO ive seen so far, reguarding games like WoW, EVE, EQ2, LOTRO. I cant say nothing bout RIFT devs but i believe i heard they are pretty open as well with their community. So, bottom line for me is, that im very happy with their social communication but they should be more cautious with what they say in terms of accuracy. Another thing i could live without is the "Coming soon", if they cant give u at least a round up ETA on the feature, than dnt advertise it at all, that just creates speculation on top of speculation.
  4. Actually EA/BW communicates too much, thats their problem and it gives the community a lot of speculation to be commented. They should be more like Blizz and tell u something when it comes out and thats it.
  5. Ah yes and DCUO, forgot to mention that one. Anyway the expansion is still a bit far off and they are still debating the issue, so everything else is just pure speculation. 1 thing is certain, i bought expansions for 7 years on WoW and i did payed a sub every month so why tha hack would i not buy an expansion for SWTOR that is the game that i am most enjoying for the moment and honestly not seeing going for any other for at least another year.
  6. Tell me a name of 1 company of an MMO genre game (the ones that really we care about) that has thrown an expansion and not asked for players to buy them, please do that cause i really want to know. The only game so far that havent asked money for expansions is EVE, no other company added expansions to their MMO's without asking for money. LOTRO also have a kinda freemium model for expansions in the cashshop but they do ask for money for their expansions as well, so honestly, not seeing any game outhere (again, apart from EVE) that havent asked for money on their player bases for the selling of expansions.
  7. Ok wiseass, here it goes as requested: WoW content patches released in detail (The ones that count as content patches and/or expansions): Vanilla Release - November 2004 1.2 - Mysteries of Maraudon - 18 December 2004 1.3 - Ruins of Diremaul - 7th March 2005 1.4 - The call of war - 8th April 2005 1.5 - Battlegrounds - 7th June 2005 1.6 - Assault on Blackwing Lair - 12th July 2005 1.7 - Rise of the blood god - 13 September 2005 1.8 - Dragons of Nightmare - 10 October 2005 1.9 - The Gates of An'quiraj - 03 January 2006 1.10 - Storms of Azeroth - 28 March 2006 1.11 - Shadow of Necropolis - 20 June 2006 1.12 - Drums of War - 22 August 2006 The Burning Crusade - 05 December 2006 (Expansion) 2.1 - The Black Temple - 22 May 2007 2.3 - The Gods of Zul'aman - 13 Novemeber 2007 2.4 - Fury of Sunwell - 25 March 2008 The Wrath of the Lich King - November 2008 (Expansion) 3.1 - Secrets of Ulduar - 14 April 2009 3.2 - Call of Crusade - 04 August 2009 3.3 - Fall of Lich King - 08 December 2009 Cataclysm - December 2010 (Expansion) 4.1 - Rise of the Zandalari - 26 April 2011 4.2 - Rage of Firelands - 28 June 2011 4.3 - Hour of Twilight - 29 November 2011 Mists of Pandaria - September 2012 (Expansion) Average timeframe on new content release = every 4 months new content released. As LOTRO is concerned i didnt had the patience to put them all in here since they are poorly described in wiki but ive made the math as well to all of the content patches/expansions released so far. So here it goes: Average timeframe on new content release = every 4 months new content released. The final conclusion is that Rift and SWTOR both have allready released 4 times more content in average than EQ2 and two times more content than WoW and LOTRO. Again, i say, against facts there are no arguments. So, again, shut up and stop deluding swtor community about lack of released content.
  8. Ok let me see and refresh your TOR naysayers memory, wich obviously i know youre just here to flame forums (why is really beyond me) but nevertheless here it goes. EQ2: Vanilla release - 8th November 2004 The Bloodline Chronicles - Adventure Pack - 21 March 2005 The Splitpaw Saga - Adventure Pack - 28 June 2005 Desert of Flames - Expansion - 13 September 2005 Kingdom of Sky - Expansion - 21 February 2006 The Fallen Dynasty - Adventure Pack - 14 June 2006 Echoes of Faydwer - Expansion - 14 November 2006 Rise of Kunark - Expansion - 13 November 2007 The Shadow Odyssey - Expansion - 18 November 2008 Sentinel's Fate - Expansion - 16 February 2010 Destiny of Velious - Expansion - 22 February 2011 Age of Discovery - Expansion - 6 December 2011 Rift: Vanilla Release - 4 March 2011 Patch 1.1- River of Souls - Release Date: March 30, 2011 Patch 1.2- Spoils of War - Release Date: May 10, 2011 Patch 1.3 - Waves of Madness - Release Date: June 22, 2011 Patch 1.4- Legacy of the Fallen - Release Date: August 3, 2011 Patch 1.5- Ashes of History - Release Date: September 28, 2011 Patch 1.6- From the Embers - Release Date: November 16 Patch 1.7- Carnival of the Ascended - Release Date: February 2, 2012 Patch 1.8 - Infernal Dawn - Release Date: April 18, 2012 Patch 1.9 - Conquest - Release Date: June 27, 2012 Patch 1.10 - Calm Before the Storm - Release Date: September 12, 2012 All of these are mini-patches not expansions, the same for SWTOR patch 1.X. On May 31, 2012, Trion Worlds announced Storm Legion, the first expansion pack for Rift. The expansion will increase the level cap from 50 to 60, add in "dimensions" where players can customize private corners of the game world, add 4 new souls (one for each calling), two new continents that will approximately triple the size of the game world, new Instant Adventures, and many other features. The expansion is slated to release in the Fall of 2012. LOTRO: Vanilla Release - 24th April 2007 Mines of Moria - On March 14, 2008 (Expansion) Siege of Mirkwood - September 4, 2009 (Expansion) Rise of Isengard - November 19, 2010 (Expansion) Riders of Rohan - January 25, 2012 (Expansion) Lotro have released between content patches and expansions 17 content releases. Didnt added them here cause they are a bit poorly constructed on LOTRO wiki. WoW Vanilla Release - November 2004 1.2 - Mysteries of Maraudon - 18 December 2004 1.3 - Ruins of Diremaul - 7th March 2005 1.4 - The call of war - 8th April 2005 1.5 - Battlegrounds - 7th June 2005 1.6 - Assault on Blackwing Lair - 12th July 2005 1.7 - Rise of the blood god - 13 September 2005 1.8 - Dragons of Nightmare - 10 October 2005 1.9 - The Gates of An'quiraj - 03 January 2006 1.10 - Storms of Azeroth - 28 March 2006 1.11 - Shadow of Necropolis - 20 June 2006 1.12 - Drums of War - 22 August 2006 The Burning Crusade - 05 December 2006 (Expansion) 2.1 - The Black Temple - 22 May 2007 2.3 - The Gods of Zul'aman - 13 Novemeber 2007 2.4 - Fury of Sunwell - 25 March 2008 The Wrath of the Lich King - November 2008 (Expansion) 3.1 - Secrets of Ulduar - 14 April 2009 3.2 - Call of Crusade - 04 August 2009 3.3 - Fall of Lich King - 08 December 2009 Cataclysm - December 2010 (Expansion) 4.1 - Rise of the Zandalari - 26 April 2011 4.2 - Rage of Firelands - 28 June 2011 4.3 - Hour of Twilight - 29 November 2011 Mists of Pandaria - September 2012 (Expansion) SWTOR Vanilla release - 20th December 2011 Patch 1.1 - 18th January 2012 (Content patch) Patch 1.2 - 12th April 2012 (Content patch) Patch 1.3 - 22nd May 2012 (Content patch) Patch 1.4 - October 2012 (Content patch) Now if you make the math by an average release timer of content updates (patches/expansions) it will give you the following list: EQ 2 - Each 8 months new content released Rift - Each 2 months new content released WoW - Each 4 months new content released Lotro - Each 4 months new content released SWTOR - Each 2 months and half new content released As you see the only game beating SWTOR in content releases either in content patches or expansions will be Rift as i allready stated that over and over again in other posts. The facts are undeniable and unquestionable. SWTOR is alongside with Rift the only 2 games that provide you all, the most content release so far. I do understand that peeps do tend to forget the past very fast, i hope this analisys just makes you remember that all these naysayers, flamers and whatnots are just here to flame this forums without even having a clue on what theyre talking about. Dnt fall for it. SWTOR is SWTOR, the other games are the other games. If you are enjoying yourself with it stick with it, if ure not having fun with it than leave us alone and go flaming other MMO gaming forums, since its the only thing you know how to do, badly i might add. No one can argument against facts.. Enjoy it and shut up about SWTOR lack of content.
  9. kk m8y, didnt noticed that more peeps were thinking like me, good to know that they do
  10. Nice ideias i must say. I might also want to add the following: - The option to auto-divide stacks. I.e: I have 40 stacks of item X, and i let GTN autodivide them and post them by smaller stacks of 2. That would also be a quality of life GTN option. In another non GTN related note but has to do with the OP post reguading altholics, it would be also nice to see incorporated in the game the following: - A way to control the crew skills of all your chars and manage them without loggin in and loggin out or at least something that would alert that the skill X on the char Y has been finished. - A 24hrs queue window for crew skills (This one i took it from EVE online). It would be awsome to be able to queue crew skills in a 24 hrs window.
  11. Eheh, you doomsayers, flamers and so on, really make me laugh. I suggest that if you are bored move on to the next MMO, so you can also be bored and than jump again to the other etc. You have the MMO market outthere, just try it
  12. And im sure you are talking about all those other MMO's that went F2P and failed right?..owh w8
  13. Huge asian subscriber base you mean? Since they only have 2 millions playing in US and EU now a days.
  14. I think i understood it, however trully complicated post So basically what youre saying there is for BW to add a set bonus slot, instead of what we have now ( bonus set being awarded on armoring modules and/or on the gear itself), so you dnt have to choose between look and stats at the same time. Its an interesting ideia, however, i dnt know if it will be applyed
  15. The difference is i allways talk in singular terms i.e: myself you on the other hand talk in plurals, therefore you are assuming that like you said the "Vast" majority thinks like you do and guess what, i dnt, so i aint in that so vast majority as you say. Thats what i said, so l2read. Than unsub allready and leave us underpowered sorcerers continue to play and have fun with it. I dnt see any problems with what was patch 1.2 nerfs, never had actually and i dnt see nothing else but a boost in patch 1.4 but by all means if its 1 less whinning poster around, please unsub and good riddance. Cause plain and simple, only a blind player didnt see that us sorcerers needed the nerf on 1.2 and only a double blind man dnt see that the KB mechanics both on sorcerers and mercs alike were OP and that the force speed change plus the instant heal is a boost. And now if youll excuse me im going to put you on ignore cause im tired of players that think the world will end cause they cant face roll anymore.
  16. Theyve said that they are aware of all the issues the OP have raised except for 1: - The lack of GTN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Owh dear lord, where has that GTN went???? Did someone stole it? This morning it was there man i swear, damn.
  17. /raisesarm, i do like them. The problem that im seeing in these changes is that pretty much 2-3 weeks after launch when sorcerer healers get used to their new mechanics, owh lord.... ure going to see some wine nerf rage fest happening on forums. So yeh i do like the changes, meaning i dnt belong to the vast majority. Dnt think just because u dnt like them (cause plain and simple you havent analyse them properlly with a cold head and are just raging for the sake of raging) that the "VAST" majority is thinking the same thing as u. Actually with the right talents you can break current root/snare effect AND become immune for the the next 2 secs of force speed on future root/snares. Perhaps you should read abit more your future talent trees and more about patch notes and stop listening to speculations and misinformed players. Err yes it does make it way much better, the problem is that actually now you have to stop bashing your head on the keyboard and KB 8 players around you and actually think as most of all classes have done in the past and position yourself to throw others away, shocking i know, it needs a bit more skilled approach. Its the same thing with the nerfs on patch 1.2 to sorcerers when all of us were "owh my god were doomed", we were still the most OP healing class in PvE and we still are currently the most OP healing class in PvE, ofc in PvP an operative or a merc pre-patch 1.4 are better but now, after patch goes live we just balanced the scale.
  18. Go and play a single player game than cause every MMO outthere will allways be a gear grind on end content. Nothing will change that. Some MMO's will have more grind and some less but ALL of them do involve gear grinding and money griding, thats what defines the core mechanics of its genre. Some peeps will never know the distinction from single player RPG games to MMORPG's really!! Story content will get out again in the future and when u end it, its again a gear grind for the best PvE gear and the best PvP gear for the next 2-4 months, its a cycle that will never end, i thought u guys have learned this by now since MMO's are in the market for the last 15-20 years, sigh. If you dnt like it im afraid you have to stop playing MMORPG's completelly and just go and play single RPG games instead m8y or you if you really want to keep having storylines just for you, you can allways buy a book!!
  19. You guys do know that BW allready have the content for the next 5 years made right? They said that in the prelaunch interview.
  20. The voice overs its what distincts this game from everyone one out there. It gives immersion to the storyline of your character like no other MMO had done it before. Personnaly i cant play any other game without this type of voice over. LOVE IT!!! Keep it coming BW. Your doomfall community will understand you sooner or later.
  21. Im not quite sure what ure saying, it looks interesting tho. Have you ever played a game with that customization before in MMO's? Not being arrogant m8y, im really asking cause i surelly havent and ive been playing MMO's since EQ/Shadowbane. Even lotro doesnt have gear customization to that extent.
  22. Yep that and plenty of others kool looking, the problem here is that either plenty of players are unware of this or there isnt that much info on where is all the gear with the looks. For myself i dnt have a problem with looks tbh but i do know plenty others do. Im fine with the looks of SWTOR armor, i do admit some look pretty bad, i hate the look on the WH sorcerer look for example but still, i dnt want to look like that i just extract the WH mods and use the battlemaster with campaign mods for looks instead or something else, not seeing a big issue here.
  23. Your friend do know that he can extract the (armor w/set bonus, mod and enh) from the campaign gear and strip completelly the rakata chest and just insert the mods from the campaign set right?
