  1. I find the execute phase quite similar to the one I'm using atm, except for the fact I also use OS when I have a decent amount of focus, especially before MAS.
  2. So we'll just need to upgrade armoring, mods and enhancements with the new ones, that's good news. I can confirm the doubl proc is still working, tested it myself.
  3. If memory serves me, oofalong once stated that in 78 bis gear you should have one power augment, instead of going full strength. As I am using a quite critical-based build (23.36%), I kept using strenght augments, but I was wondering how the new caps are going to change that. I'd like to test a 25% crit build, to see how that affects dots and Burning Focus, but probably stacking more power is a better idea. I had a nice chat with Irisa from Rebel Dream a few nights ago, and I was told they're gonna fix the Kell Dragon relic with the new patch. I couldn't find this information on the patch notes, but if that's true, it obviously won't be bis anymore. That worries me a bit, since the double proc helped a lot with dps. Just wanted to know what you guys think about it.
  4. Fact is I didn't start a thread because I want a bolster. I do not expect BW to get me on par with people who worked for months on their toons. Bolster is a stupid thing in PVP, and it would be even more stupid in ops. As I told to the other guy who opened a similar thread: spend more time gearing your char and less complaining on the forums.
  5. Again? Really? Here's your bolster: save your credits while you're leveling, then go to Oricon and grab the gear offered with the questline. Do dailies for a week and buy augments. Now you're perfectly fine for SM. Some people think PVE is all about gear. They're wrong. A bolster won't let you faceroll HM or Nim. It is about understanding mechanics, repeating a fight dozens of times to execute it better; that's the first step. You learn when to pop your cd's, how to maximize your dps and stuff like that. Gear is the second step, and if you're able to get it, it means you've got the first step done.
  6. Love can break a class, be careful what you wish for. I just hope they kill the retard dotsmash. It's so stupid it's not even fun. People work for weeks, months, to master their spec, and then dotsmash arrives. I could almost beat my best watchman parse after like 20 minutes of playing it. Free focus, idiotic rotation, AoE fun for everyone. Kill it. With fire.

  8. We run everything with two sentinels, nim included. Three ranged and one sentinel is probably the best setup, but in the end you want to rely on the players, not on their class.
  9. They gave us the Kell Dragon. Now it's time for the real thing: give us the Krayt Dragon.
  10. Almost left my Nim guild run when I saw you were doing this! Well, how did it go? Will you do it again this week? 'Cause if you do, I'm in!
  11. I have been following this thread for months, it's a bit strange to read my name in it. Thanks for the big work, Falver. Something I didn't get: prestacking Juyo and Merciless is obviously not allowed, but what about centering? I used valorous call to get 30 stacks before the leap, that's the only way to be authorized to have them, right?
  12. Not sure why everyone thinks that decrementing stacks would be of help. You lose stacks only on a couple of bosses after the last patch. I can only think of Brontes right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm still quite sure that most of the boss mechanics favour combat over watchman, but decrementing stacks wouldn't change that much. Two nights ago I got the class record on torparse at 8hm Nefra, but the combat guildie I play with manages to outdps me in many fights with ease. I find the spec very static, and too reliant on RNG, but I raid in watchman since 1.0, and I still love it.
  13. Great. We're starting to get our companions 78 geared and not even a hint on new PVE content.
  14. I think luck plays an important part in the execute phase. There is no real optimization. When stars align you get a good amount of focus, which allows you to put everything in the rotation raising the dps. If you're unlukcy, the execute phase has the same dps of the normal rotation. If you're VERY unlucky it lowers your dps. I love Watchman, I have been playing it since the release, but sometimes I think that RNG is just too important, considering the fact that, by design, you're always on the edge with focus.
  15. Amazing. Did you put crit back in or decided to stay with that configuration?
  16. This thread was originally about PVE. I don't think we'll get a "PVP buff". The spec is not designed for short fights, let's just admit that. No burst spikes on demand, slow ramp to build dps. Any buff associated with PVP stuff would make it OP, or worst, could break it.
  17. The parse is too long. Aim for a 5 minute parse, today that's the standard. Longer periods imply more mistakes, which lower your dps. It will also make easier for those who want to help you to compare your parse with theirs. Imho, your crit is a bit too high, i'm currently running with 23.36, which works fine for me. 176 uses of MS a 13' long fight are probably the first thing you need to improve. If I remember correctly in a 5' parse the max number of uses you can get is around 92. You probably didn't use it on cooldown. APM are low, that reflect the problems you have playing the spec, they should be around 45/46. Bind your core abilities near to each other, and get used to their position. I'd post my configuration but I use a razer naga, so that wouldn't work for you. Norton's guide is probably the most complete one you'll find on the internet. Study it. There is no easy way to become a good dps, it requires knowledge of the spec and training. Plus you have chosen to play a sentinel, which is probably the most difficult dps class to use properly. I've been playing watchman since 1.0, left the game for almost one year and then came back after 2.0. I thought I knew the spec but I realized my dps wasn't good, so I asked for help and trained a lot. Today my results are quite good, so don't lose hope buddy.
  18. Oh, ok. The number I mentioned before was referred to a parse without debuff. My best attempt with the debuff up is around 3.7, which, atm, keeps me behind you and Yoloneeds on the dummy (according to torparse).
  19. Azraphel - Sentinel - Watchman - 36/8/2 - 4'28.937s Log AMR profile
  20. Hey Macedonicus! Great guide; you gave me some tips weeks ago and I was actually surprised you had not yet written a guide, since you're one of the best parsers for the spec. Clear and well written, gj! When RNG assists I can sustain 3.450+, but I still need some pieces to finish my gear. Not sure about my relics combo, tho. Currently running with a DF FR and a UW SA, what do u think?
  21. That's not the point. I am able to keep my stacks up on every boss that doesn't require you to stop dpsing it for long periods. The buff we are getting from 2.5 will help mostly the average player, tho. Good players will only be able to avoid multiple ramps during the fights. Fact is that combat's sustained dps is higher than watchman's. And that is not how things are supposed to work. I'm ok with the great intial burst combat has, that's design. I'm concerned about the fact that even after minutes, a good Combat player will outdps a good Watchman player.
  22. 72 MH: http://www.torparse.com/a/500056 78 MH: http://www.torparse.com/a/504226 You can cut at 5.00 min, that is the moment when I usually say "ok, it's enough". The second isn't stable as the first one, probably due to the lag issues I had last night. It was also late, was almost sleeping on the keyboard. As you can see I had the big numbers at the end, but they looked sustainable, I was just too tired to keep on parsing. And, obviously, if you have any tip about the rotation, I'm open to suggestions.
