  1. 1. My travels have taken me to many of the far-flung corners of the galaxy, and in some ways technically beyond those borders. While I'm sure that working for Czerka would present some... interesting challenges, I've seen some pretty rough situations of my own, so I believe I'm up to the task. I have a crew that are more than capable of assisting me in my duties, and they are largely expendable. 2. Subjugating a species of indigenous chipmunks Killing a Sith Lord Beating Doctor Lokin at a game of Pazaak 3. As a member of the Empire, I wouldn't say I'm as devoted to the cause as the Sith lapdogs, and I'm very much the architect of my future. That being said, credits never hurt, though I hardly consider myself a mercenary. Shall we call it a fair balance between purpose and price point? 4. It hasn't stopped spinning since Hutta. (This isn't a problem, merely an observation.) 5. If my "esteemed colleague" is nearby, I would encourage them to contain the experiment by urging (read: pushing) them toward it and then returning to getting my snack on. Afterward I would summon one of the Ugnaught janitors to clean up the mess.
  2. I would say that being able to empathize with a villain makes them a bit more real and enjoyable to me. Bond villains would be an obvious example of this, as they are often men that just want to improve the world, albeit in a twisted way. So, for me, a villain with believable and, in a way, reasonable motives are the best kind. That being said: Literature: Tie between Randall Flagg from The Stand and Napoleon from Animal Farm Film: Vader is an obvious choice, though I also liked old-school General Zod or Ciguhr from No Country for Old Men
  3. Not once did I say that "the guilds good enough to succeed in rated pvp in this game must all be hackers". I merely said that some instances of hacking are likely to have happened. Also, I haven't censored anyone on the subject yet. I merely said that in future articles, such discussions will not be allowed to take place in the comments section of an article. To clarify, I intend to stop such accusations from being made in the comments section of articles in the future. I don't intend to censor any comments that have been made at present.
  4. As I'd said in my previous post, my intent was not to call out any specific guild, which I did not. The post that I replied to did, indeed, call those guilds out, but my comment was simply meant to imply that I had experienced something similar; whether or not any of the named guilds were involved was intentionally left blank, because I cannot provide specific proof on any of the instances that I've personally found suspicious. Having said that, my opinion on the matter remains unchanged. I've done my best to apologize for ruffling feathers, but it is the opinion of many others that these things do occur. I stand by the fact that I've seen strange things myself, and while I don't have specific evidence of the hacking, that doesn't mean that it isn't happening. I'm sorry that my explanation doesn't sit well with some of you, but that's the truth of it.; take from it what you will. Finally, let me say that in the future steps will be taken to censor such comments and discussion from ever appearing below an article in this fashion. Whether or not the accusations are true is a matter worthy of debate, but it doesn't belong in the comments section of an article.
  5. I thought I would step in here for a moment and clarify a few things. I'm Vox_mortis over at DH, and obviously there's been a very strong reaction to the comments made in the most recent PvP column; specifically, saying that I'm accusing certain players or guilds of hacking without adequate proof. First, let me quote myself from the comments section: "I've experienced issues with some of the same groups that you're reporting, so don't worry, you're not alone." In general, this comment was meant to say that I've encountered groups of hackers while PvP'ing, back when the game first came out, all the way up to the big server merges. This comment wasn't specifically leveled at any person or guild, but more in a general sense of "Yes, there are hackers, I've encountered them myself, so don't worry." Now, moving on from that, I did not call out any specific guild. Period. I did not name Covenant, or Cookies, or Goof Troop for that matter. Do I have opinions on the matter? Yes; but I didn't use that post or the comments section in any specific way to put those guilds out there like that. My comment was vague, and intentionally so. So for any of those guild members that felt slighted by my attempts to respond in kind to a reader, you have my apologies. So, in closing, I would like to solidify the point that while I believe there are hackers in the game, I do not have any specific proof aside from the collective experience of several players besides myself. The comment that one person made about asking in general and receiving responses of "Oh yeah, they hack" isn't entirely invalid, nor is it proof. Players that lack the ability to perform in PvP often cannot comprehend how someone else was able to best them, and perhaps because of pride they will quickly accuse the other player of hacking. This happens in any online game, from CoD to WoW, and isn't anything new. Having said that, my apologies again to any specifically offended party.
  6. Greetings fellow agents, hope you enjoy my look! http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee477/tycho_brahe1983/swtor2012-04-2220-36-32-49.jpg
  7. Don't mind them, they're just displeased with the game and are, at this point, grasping at straws and grabbing for attention. I very seriously think people are exaggerating their symptoms, if there are any to begin with. If you dislike the game so much, uninstall. If you want to continue playing, but still feel "sick", then consult a doctor because you may be epileptic.
  8. Ambience are additional sound effects, like crickets for instance, wind, any noise that's part of the background or setting is considered "ambience".
  9. I've played Bounty Hunter(merc), Agent(sniper), and Warrior(jugg), and I can tell you that I only use about half of my abilities IF that much on a regular basis, the others are contextual and mostly optional. If you feel the need to use every one of your abilities on every mob, then you're doing something wrong.
  10. As a sniper you're really only doing one thing, damaging. Now, they could add medals for slowing or immobilizing targets, but that wouldn't really balance things out. Keep in mind that while you're just doing straight damage, and probably better than most, the person in question was also bothering to heal allies, shield them, etc. More work or responsibility in the match = more medals, and I personally don't see a problem with this myself, as I play a sniper most of the time in pvp.
  11. How is it brown nosing for praising them in making steps in the right direction? At the same time, I could criticize you for being so very negative, and ignoring the fact that they're trying to fix everything. I'm not sure why everyone expects some magic patch right out of the gate that fixes absolutely everything. They've said they're working on it, give them time, and in the meantime stop being so negative, it helps NO ONE.
  12. Hi all, just doing daily quests on Ilum and came across a Depleted White Adegan Crystal node, clicked on it and it told me that it had already been harvested, so I assume this is where the crystals for higher level stuff come from. For those interested or high enough level, I was on the Eastern Ice Shelf, in the Western Jedi Ruins.
