  1. Bah, I'm sorry. I thought it was an Imp Vs Pub match when I faced you guys on my Assassin last night. Re'kal is a Guardian, sorry guys. Looks like there are a couple others looking to join with ya. Good luck guys. My search continues .
  2. I do have TS3, I should definitely be on tonight as well. Hope to see you guys then. And yeah, REGULATORS, are good. The good news we'll only get better playing against them .
  3. Throw Re'kal on your friends list. I've been looking to get in with a group for some more organized play and I'm trying toget involved in ranked as well. I'm my main hand and off hand away from fully augmented Partisan, full tank specced Guardian. I'm having a hard time convincing myself to PUG lately as a tank though. If you're willing to give me your in game name so I can toss you on my friends list I'll send you a tell in game and we can chat a bit and maybe start running together. Looking forward to some organized play. (Running with the REGULATORS one night totally killed my enjoyment of PUG groups )
  4. Interesting. I haven't hit up the new area yet but it sounds lime I definitely need to go. Hopefully they designed it with PvP in mind, I've never been a fan of how spread out and separated we have always been, I rolled on a PvP server for a reason after all . Hopefully this design trend continues if its helping to encourage some OWPvP.
  5. Yeah, I felt the same way, it was kind of bleh, watching my toon that I had spent so much time crafting this personality to and whamo! You're a Sith for a little while.
  6. While the Hero of Tython is very powerful there are things you don't know. The following spoiler has info from the book Revan. If you plan on reading it but haven't yet don't read the spoiler, as finding out the info via the book is great fun. There are also story spoilers for the Knight class.
  7. Hey guys, a little help here for folks. Almost all story boss fights include some form of simple mechanics. For the most part it's simply interrupting certain skills. I personally had maybe 1 or 2 issues with bosses during my class story and one was the last boss who has a skill that if not interrupted just plain kills you. What the game is doing here is trying to teach you how to use certain abilities and when to use them. Compared to end game mechanics these fights are very easy and perfectly doable. If you are having trouble you are doing something wrong. The good news is you are here trying to fix it . First, as others have said check your gear, be in as much purple or blue gear as possible, greens are OK, but I personally think green is sub par. This goes for your companion as well, keep them geared, content is tuned to you and your companion and having them under geared is almost as bad as you being so. Make sure that the gear you have on is level appropriate also, having gear on that was amazing at level 14 is terrible at level 25. Interrupts is next. Again, most of these bosses have a couple to a few moves that if not interrupted will destroy you. Force kick is the obvious one, but don't forget force stasis, force push, hilt strike (if you get it later as a guardian) and awe. BW has designed these fights with many of those skills in mind, if you have them make sure to not only use them, but to use them at the right times. Tossing out force stasis at the start of the fight might help give you some extra focusto dish out more DPS, but not having it later to interrupt that ability that knocks 20% of your health off will ruin your day . The other thing is which companion your using. If you are a DPS Kira may work well for you in the open world, but two DPS makes for a very squishy team, and against a tough boss your going to need to be able to dish out a lot of damage fast to overcome that, something that is not likely to happen if you're only at level or a little above unless you're rocking a lot of artifact quality gear or mods. Sometimes you may need to switch companions to succeed in some fights. Just some things to think about. All of the story content in this game is easily doable, you just need to do some of it the right way.
  8. Very nice Luniara. Jung Ma is lucky to have players like you helping to make this community great. Keep up the good work.
  9. I was gonna say, I'm leveling a Sage now and I thought things seemed cheaper. To the OP, harvest mats a lot and then sell them. Making large amounts of money while leveling isn't easy per se, you can do it but it doesn't happen without putting a little effort into it, mats are one good way. If you're Biotech Stims and Medpacs can bring in some extra credits while leveling your crafting. Or, you can run lower level FP's and sell all the loot, this is a rather time consuming method though. Another thing to consider is are you using boosts or rested XP? If so this is accelerating the leveling process and it maybbea good idea to back off on them so you level a bit slower thus allowing you to make more credits in between levels.
  10. Agreed, back to SWTOR. Try mowing your lawn again and you'll have bathroom break privileges revoked. You'll need to get a bucket like those Colonel's in Battle Field. Let this be a lesson to you.
  11. I like posts like these, they're funny . And, as for the pilots, well, you see since going F2P BioWARE/EA try not to spend as much money in development now, so they just made copies of the pilots already in game, but those pilots were clones already, and when you make a copy of a copy it sometimes doesn't come out quite as "sharp", ya know? So, now we have the Derp Squad running flying operations on Makeb. But don't be too hard on them, they try so hard. P.S. the Derp Squad absolutely LOVES chocolate chip cookies, so if you see one on the ground toss 'em a cookie.
  12. Yeah, I got some "Nice Try" Jawa gram and Darth Malak's jaw casing in my first pack, I wanted a derelict purple eviscerating crystal. Didn't get it in the packs I got with the CC's I had but made enough cred's selling the junk I had no interest in to buy what I wanted, so in the end it worked out for me. I've bought a few different collection pieces off the GTN now, I like that there's stuff there that I can get now.
  13. I look at the cartel packs in a completely different way. I see them as a way to make money to buy the stuff I want from them off of other players on the GTN. The chances of collecting all the pieces to a set via opening boxes? Yeah, not gonna happen for me. However, the fact that you can buy the items off the GTN makes it feasible to get the sets, so, buy the crates and sell the contents to get creds (or farm dailies, either way) and buy what you want. Look at it as participating in the economy, if you do it via selling pack contents you're helping other players get things they really want that you could care less about while buying that piece that you can't live without off the guy who thinks "who in their right mind wants this?" A win win for both parties, all while helping to support the game so we can continue to enjoy it.
  14. True, in that case it's tough, but I played games where you lost everything you had on you, half the money you had in the bank and ~10-15% of your XP, which when you had >1 billion sucked. Dying in that game was aggravating for sure
  15. Ahhh, the joys of OWPvP. If you died, you did it wrong. If you do it right this is your reward, the salty tears of the players whose toons lay slain at your feet. Revel in their despair, unless you're the one despairing, in that case go get some backup man, grind your enemy to dust with the help of your allies. It's for fun guys, enjoy it, the very nature of PvP requires that people lose, some times you win, some times you lose. Rarely do you attack a group you can't beat, otherwise if it's red it's dead, that's the rule after all. If you get squished in an area by four other players that's designated as a PvP area where PvP is consistently occurring it's you who messed up, not the groups fault. What did you expect? Get some friends and roll out, maybe you'll win, maybe you'll lose, maybe you'll teach some doofus wandering around alone a valuable life lesson . Besides, dying in SWTOR isn't so bad either, it was much worse in older games, so, ya know, be thankful if you get ganked, and then go about planning some sweet revenge .
  16. Holy cheese and crackers, that looks pretty awesome. Even without the opening and closing action that would be a nasty looking hilt for a Jugg or Mara. I would definitely like to see something like that in game.
  17. I had my first bad run on my healer last night. I got a SM Athiss, my first Athiss run as heals. We all get in and I notice my tank is wearing a trooper chest piece, my first thought after seeing this is "please don't let this run be a 'Weird people you meet in group finder' run". I attempt to inspect him but he's off and running already. Get to the elevator to go down into the ruins and the DPS sage in the group slices it, tank jumps down the other side anyways, I don't think too much of it, just a little nervous that he's kind of rushing in but whatever. So, we go to pick up the explosives, fight starts, when my bubble goes down on him his health starts dropping fast for what I'm used too, "that's odd" I think to myself and check his buffs. He's not in Soresu form, I ask him to switch, but loot distribution covers my request and he runs off. I continue to ask him to switch occassionaly but he just keeps going and rushing into fights until he finally goes down, I couldn't get my bubble back up on him and the DPS started pulling aggro. Once he comes back I inspect his gear, he's wearing level 10 or 15 trooper gear in some slots, mostly greens. We get to the first boss and actually manage to take it. At this point I'm getting frustrated but I'm willing to work with him, so now I'm starting to push that he needs to be in Soresu and the DPS with me start to say the same thing. Now he starts talking to us, saying he's French and is having a hard time understanding what we're saying. This frustrates me, now, I feel bad and don't want to be rude, but its a NA East Coast server man, you kind of need to be able to commuicate if you're going to pick an American server, if you don't then pick a European server, that's why they're there, ya know? So, anyway, as I'm trying to now break this language barrier and get the point that he needs to switch to Soresu across he runs off and starts fighting again, I make it to him when he has like 25% health left, I get him healed up but the DPS have peeled everything off him, he goes down while I'm trying to get the DPS up and we wipe. At this point one DPS initiates a vote kick. I've never vote kicked before, but now he says "what's you're reason?" We explain he needs to switch to a tanking stance because he's queued as a tank. He types in all caps "WHAT YOUR LANGUAGE MEAN?" So, my first acceptance of a vote kick ever, and first story for The Weird People You Meet in Group Finder.
  18. Well, I guess there's not many PlanetSide2 players here, but, just in case there is here it is, I just had to.
  19. Oh man, hopefully I can at least catch the second half of this, we'll see if my kids will cooperate and will go to bed a little early (or maybe I'll be "nice" and let them stay up late a bit and watch My Little Ponies ) so I can make it. Sounds like it'll be a blast.
  20. For a second I thought someone got a new avatar... And picture... And account name Someone give this person an internetz.
  21. Yeah, at the end of the day its about money. EA funded this game for one reason and one reason only, profit. The way they are running the game is the most effective way that they can make a profit. I'm sure a number of Dev's are passionate about this game, and want to make it great in a more sand box kind of way but the people they report to in EA want content or features that are going to produce a profit so that they may attract more investors for future products to ensure the company remains viable and even more profitable for many years. While I personally enjoy sand box features as well and loved a lot about games like SWG and EQ2 look where they stand now, SWG is no longer in existence and EQ2 is all but forgotten by most other than those who play it. Others have said UO servers are still up and hell, I believe SOE still has servers up for EQ. Yet despite these games still being around WoW is number 1 and SWTOR is, I believe, second in the market. Investors don't care about gaming purists, most probably don't know what MMORPG means. What they want to know is "What kind of a return can you get me on my investment?" The better the return the more investors who are willing to invest, which allows EA to make bigger titles which in turn generates more profit for them. In today's day and age what we have here, in SWTOR, iswhat turns companies a profit, so it's what we have. I have seen that the SWG emulator is coming along though, any word on if it's up and running and whether it will have JTLS in it?
  22. Oh man, I didn't log in last night, sounds like that was a mistake. Gonna have to hop on and help out it seems, time to start enforcing the "If it's red it's dead" rule. P.S. I'm on a PvP server before anyone accuses me of trying to ruin someone's PvE experience, cause that's what a PvP server is about. If it's red it's dead.
  23. I noticed this too. I also thought it was strange, and while I was going to say it should be added what others have said is true as well, that it's nice to see a rare item. I'm kind of torn now, my biggest fear though was that I may accidently overwrite it by accident while not paying attention, in which case it would be nice to be able to replace it.
  24. I would say that if it's not cheating, and not exploiting, than it is intended to be that way, and there for is allowed. That was pretty clear to me, though I guess I could be wrong, but again, not cheating, not an exploit, shutting down the old thread to avoid confusion = intended game function. As for encouraging people to do it, why would you do that? I got the feeling you didn't enjoy having it done to you, and rightfully so, it was a despicable move by the player who did it. Why would you encourage people to do this to others when it hurt you? You don't seem like the type who wants to hurt other people, are you trying to hurt the game? It just doesn't make much sense, ya know? You spend a lot of time trying to say what you think is hurting the game and what BioWARE should do to make it better, only to now suggest something that will only hurt the game. I would ask that you think about and reconsider you suggestion. The ability to change loot rules mid fight is likely there to allow an adjustment for groups when the fight was started with the wrong set of rules. I would encourage players to always play fair and be fair with loot. Do unto others as you would have them do to you, not do unto others as they do to you. Be fair folks and we'll all be better off for it. Will we find trolls and unsavory characters? Yes, but by doing the right thing you can encourage others, who may be on the edge, to do the right thing.
