  1. Sigh: Melee is much harder to balance in a PVE environment because of the way tanking dynamics and positioning works. Sometimes though, it isn't a melee problem but a player problem. If boss tosses out a slow moving ball from his position, melee must react much faster than the ranged, I'll admit sometimes it isn't possible to react quick enough between lag + having to be inside the boss' balls. 110% threat as opposed to 130% threat to pull agro is kind of dumb in this game since like nothing that can be tanked is immune to taunt. The melee should have more threat leeway. Btw which fights are we talking about again?
  2. Agreement: Yes. Disagreement: Wait no there isn't a disagreement. Sarcasm: Bioware has not provided the necessary tools for raiding. Where is my automatic character player mod.
  3. Statement: Lottery loot = addict people who are predisposed to gambling addictions. Conspiracy theory: EAis in works with the government to pass SOPA and destroy the world by making money off star wars fans and people who gamble.
  4. Statement: We've had this happen probably 2-3 times. I don't know what causes it.
  5. Mockery: From my experience the only reason 16 man is harder than 8 man is because it is easier to find 8 people that are not bad than 16 people who are not bad. Statement: Without dps meters or a combat log it isn't possible to measure the increase in numbers by switching 8 man to 16 man. Chances are you're carrying some people who are not preforming to specs.
  6. Statement: You don't need combat logs to read a 4.5k and a 5.5k above your head, or look at your bar and go "o hey! I lost 10k hp by sprinting through the ball (provided you're not bad and only took a single tick). Also 10k dmg on people is easily healed through, especially in phase 3. Disagreement: You have no idea what Bioware is going to do from now on. Enrage timers are simple, cheap, and people don't complain too much about them existing, just "blah blah enrage timer too short werez meh fre epix!" Mockery: Now that I think about it, I think bioware could find a way to bug an enrage timer out.
  7. statement: Hutt cartel leader would be a funny class. What this class would do is have main stat presence and totally just take out minions and start shooting things. Give it skills to buff minions and stuff like "Kill that thing or I decapitate you" buffs companions for like 10 seconds or something. yeah too bad this class won't work ever.
  8. Sarcasm: This meatbag thinks that he is better than us because of his world firsts, so lets completely ignore his point and try to **** on his cornflakes for no reason despite the validity of his point. Agreement: This loot system is complete and total unrecoverable epic fail. Disagreement: I don't think the unfairness between commendations for champ weapons and no commendations for columi weapons is a viable argument. Yes it is frustrating that SOA won't drop the **** you need... ever, BUT pvp bags are just as random. Since you need battlemaster tokens to get champion tokens, it is completely pointless to get a champion weapon unless a bag drops it. If you grind 60 ranks of valor maybe its about time you get a weapon with little effort. See where I'm going with this? Think back to the rank 14 grind in WoW. Sidepoint: Hey man, hose tionese or whatever marks are totally useful for getting a piece of gear for a companion you don't use. Summary: This loot system is horrible. I think a toddler could come up with better, but my opinion doesn't matter to EA. It doesn't matter than you can get a champion weapon with commendations but not a columi weapon because you'll have a battlemaster weapon by then anyway.
  9. Have you seen DA2? Yeah. Their creativity is pretty close to rock bottom.
  10. anything that makes BoP crafter usable only items on par with rakkata stims from biochem is ok with me. the extra stats are a huge boost and each profession should have some way to bring this to the table, whether it be extra slots in armor or crafted armor/mods.
  11. I do hope they update this soon, having a tier of raid gear below the previous one can't be intended.
  12. I was wondering what the massive amount of accuracy on gear was for. Are operations like rift where you need more and more hit to hit the mobs? Is it worth itemizing a lot for hit?
  13. we've found that if the person with visions of doubt dies, DM just herp derps and forgets to do anything and you dps him to 0 hp and win.
  14. sounds like a good idea. Decent starting PVP gear. IMO all professions, save maybe biochem, need a buff right now.
  15. Hero Engine from an environment developer's PoV: Goods: Decent support for DX11, PhysX and a lot of other nice features that bioware didn't include. Decent optimization Good shading engine on stationary objects. Integrated development Environment Bads: The particle and FX system could be much better. Some poor optimizations, especially in 2D renderings. Trash client-side collision detection. backface and Z culling are kind of put on the backburner, resulting in lower performance, but easier development. This could go under poor optimizations. Dynamic shadows are trash. I'd personally say the Hero engine is fine. Depending on what changes bioware made to it there isn't much to actually complain about graphically. I don't know enough about server-client communication to judge that part of the engine.
