  1. The only thing that's unfair is that guilds that would be middle of the pack in mmos with larger raiding communities can suddenly call themselves "world top 10" because there's virtually no one to compete against. Not directed at you specifically, but it does seem to be applicable based on your post.. Even at the beginning there were only like 5-6 real progression guilds competing (the majority of which have since quit), which left the rest of the top 20 to literally anyone else who felt like clearing the instances. Now, spots in the top 10 are just easily attainable by pretty much anyone. I feel bad for guilds of future MMOs, who will have to sift through an entire generation of applications claiming world 6th's, world 8th's and world 10th's from this game and slowly realize it really doesnt mean anything. And this is from someone who's been in the top 5 since the game launched.
  2. Yes, well, theres only so much you can do when new content is cleared in a day, and ranked pvp is postponed indefinitely. Condemned was really a pvp guild, and im sure the bombshell with ranked wzs pushed them over the edge. People forget that 1.2 was not some great leap forward, but simply all the **** that should have been in the game already - functioning legacy system, some semblance of a combat log, customizable ui...really, 1.2 was what the game should have been at launch. It really feels like they started out making a kotor sequel and then added on the MMO elements as an afterthought.
  3. Really you should just buy an orange augmented 2h saber and the war hero force-mystic saber; you can just swap in the mods directly (including the hilt), and you get an augment slot. There's really no reason to get the war hero 2h saber unless you really want to save up on comms (you need the BM force-mystic to trade in for the war hero, so that's an extra 1500 wz comms). Still worth it imo, since the mystic gear has the best itemization by a very large margin.
  4. As far as I can tell this wasnt fixed in 1.2.
  5. Glad to see all the new features. Also glad to see you guys trying to fix some of the massive trolling that plagued the first iteration. Any word yet on deleting troll accounts? Some of our members would love their names back.
  6. Grats guys. Having flashbacks to January when I wake up and find out KP has been cleared already too. I guess...we wait for nightmare? I wonder if they'll put that on the PTS too. Anything cool drop? Also, why is it that EV is the only instance that took people an amount of time to clear (even considering time to lvl and gear up)? Guild spent weeks on Soa, and only hours on the new stuff? But I guess you could count PTS time too if you want.
  7. I guess I can only hope that they decided to change this in 1.2, else it's gonna be another patch of walking around.
  8. The proc trinkets are only self restrictive i.e. you cant use two different proc trinkets.
  9. This seems like a question for the RPers.
  10. Except balance also uses shadow strike via infiltration tactics. Balance has dots, procs, backstabbing and aoe to deal with in the standard rotation. It's widely accepted to be the harder of the two specs.
  11. A lot of it is playstyle i.e. how you play your shadow. Some people charge into the fray and forget they have all these ranged moves and dots. Others stand in the back and forget that they're a melee class at heart. You need to spread out your damage, but still focus down single targets when you can - but remember, it's the infiltration shadow's job to tunnel down a single target, not yours. If you're chasing one guy around the map the entire time, you're not doing it right.
  12. I can see that working for your character, but your character is pretty much just blowing off the droid's instructions with that workaround. What if my character is very by-the-book? Most of the suggestions involve ignoring or tampering with or lying to the droid, which my character would never do.
  13. Balance is the hardest by a decent margin.
  14. That would be a striking abnormality, as even our heals from dot crits get hit by the trauma debuff.
  15. I talked to some guys and they said it was kind of a cop out to just assume everything you do is official republic business. Any other ideas?
  16. It's a lot of preference. I like being able to burst and I use project as a gap-closer, so 4 pc stalker is what I use. You either get more up-front burst if project doubleprocs (not necessarily ideal, but good for burst for an extra ~1-1.5 dmg), or you get a force potency charge on your second FiB for later in the fight. Plus the 15 seconds off the CD is nice. Force master gives you 3% max health healing on mind crush use, which of course is reduced further by the pvp healing debuff, so it only ends up healing you for ~350 hp when it procs. Also, it does not benefit from psychic absorption like our other self-healing does. It can be potent with a little luck if, say, all 6 dots crit and you end up with 15% max health regen, though of course that scenario depends fully on luck and the force master bonus being there doesnt effect it at all - it would still be 12% without it, since the bonus is just an additive things.
  17. You do want at least some, but as a shadow only your saber strikes need accuracy to function - all your force moves (project, force breach, etc) dont benefit from it. Unlike WoW (or at least last I checked), in this game hit rating and expertise (wow expertise) are both rolled into accuracy; accuracy above 100% starts counting as expertise, but no one really goes that high. Get at least like 5% or so. You'd only be giving up surge, which I'd assume you're heavily past the DR point on if you have literally 0 accuracy.
  18. Interesting. I guess technically I'm part of the council now, so anything I do is important. I'll talk to my guildmates about this.
  19. Got a new high score tonight: http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/2504/screenshot2012040223533.jpg
  20. OOC: Something really needs to be done about the dialogue some speeder droids give to make it more friendly to heavy RPers. "Reminder: mechanized travel is for official business only" When I'm questing, ok, I guess that counts as official business. But what if I'm just exploring, or coming back from a quest? My character can't take the speeder back because it's not "official business". This isnt fair to me and other people who take their RP seriously enough to actually listen to the droid, since he's technically an emissary of the republic. We shouldnt have to walk to our destination just because they decided to add that one line of dialogue to the speeder droids.
  21. Yes, but do you have your own guide? No? I didnt think so.
  22. Except no, many of the posters downgrading us go on to support your own kills, and no one else would use Chamillion's name but you guys.
  23. Yeah, I doubt the community views us as "17% reliable" on our kills, seeing as how we've been on good terms with other top guilds like Condemned, Millennium and Retribution, with the only dissenting views coming from Cali Killed Nox out of spite (as well as one very, very determined troll who still posts here even though he quit a few months ago).
  24. They're acting like 5 year olds, no surprise there. We've been (unsurprisingly) receiving the brunt of their efforts, with such accounts as "Chamillion" (Nox's old gm that left to join us), "WebTrollin" and "Nerf Dialogue Sucks" being created to downrate our kills, with the rest being other Cali Killed Nox members. The saddest part is, we never went as far as to dispute any of Nox Imperius's kills when they were still around. Our biggest argument with them was over annihilator droid, with us claiming he was bugged to do extra damage (which was later proven correct by a patch note fix) and them claiming it was a mechanic, but we never went as far as to say they never actually killed him. I dont know why they petitioned so strongly for an independent ranking website if they were just going to ruin it, but they lost the majority of their integrity when they reformed (and, fittingly, they ended up losing credit for all of their earlier kills). As for the website, it's in very real danger of being taken down by this pettiness if nothing is done.
