  1. I hate to do this. I really, really hate to do this. And I'm not sure if this has been pointed out somewhere, but I believe I have found some sort of potential exploitation with the cartel packs. At least I think I have. In larger group sizes, they seem to increase the probability to get better gear. Not all the way as I have still get some contents that I would deem to be of low quality (just how many dancer tops do I need??). I've only done it in pvp settings where I have 8 group members, but my loot has seemed to improve slightly. At the very least I've had more success getting the rarer stuff. Such as a Max-Tac sniper there. Or a Lime-Green Hawkeye crystal here. A Tythonian Force-Master's lightsaber. Or just recently a Shadow Hand Throne Chair. All in one night mind you. Either I'm really, really lucky or I'm improving my odds. I can't be sure because I haven't done any math and I haven't bought a lot (kind of costs a lot after a while) other than that one Hypercrate (been trying to get Revan's gloves and belt), but I wanted to point this out before I get slapped with some email saying I violated the rules of the game. This might not even be a bug as it could just be following the same rules as all the other looting mechanics. I don't know. My friend told me about it and seeing an opportunity to have success at completing my Revan collection, I jumped on it. So you can see why this pains me to reveal this potential secret (if it exists or not). If it does exist, feel free to delete this thread in an effort to keep it private.
  2. Do you change networks often? This happened to me when I went to a hotel room instead my house. A security key would help with that then. At least you get the email right away, I've had to call customer support to have them manually send it each time. Off topic, but slightly on, this game might have the best customer support I've ever experienced.
  3. Seeing how this is seasonal, I think you can deal with it for now. It only really occurs on the fleet so I'm not sure how this ruins your experience. There's no interruption to the story and if you're on the fleet, then the chances are that you are doing business stuff so your character will be under menus most of the time anyway. But if you're that sensitive then just don't go to the fleet. Use Makeb's space station's GTN or the one on Nar Shaddaa. Or just partake in the fun. It doesn't hurt you at all and it's entertaining to throw a snowball that changes course at someone.
  4. See I never understood that. I felt like that was the authors of the expanded universe having no imagination rather than it never happening. It doesn't make sense that only the Empire or Sith would buy muscle to do their jobs. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it can't. Besides, this is the Old Republic, Bioware can basically do whatever they want in this time era. It's so far removed from the movies that it could have a number of reasons as to why something is different during then.
  5. Shut up and take my money! This would have to be a massive expansion because they would have to get voice actors back to do all the stories again. In addition to all the game mechanic changes and additions. But if they did, I would totally pay the price of a new game for this. It would practically double the game content in terms of solo campaigns. And while I don't see it happening any time soon, there's no reason to say it can't happen. It would be like making a new game which they've done before. They have the resources of EA so I don't see how they couldn't make this work if they wanted to.
  6. I'm always conscious of the 350K cap whenever I put something on the GTN. I figure the largest population of this game are non-subscribers so why price something so high that few will buy it (or already have it)? It's a bit of a pain, but if everything was able to be unlocked then there would be no point in subscribing. You have to make it worth while to subscribe. Next people will be saying things like, "Why would anyone subscribe to this game?" I just avoid the problem all together and subscribe. Done and done.
  7. I was just about to post something about this. My Sith Inquisitor's hair (the new, long female human's hair) sticks out of it randomly. To be honest, all the new long hair have problems with cooperating with armor and helmets.
  8. Not sure if this has been suggested yet, but after getting now 11 emails of awesome preorder items, digital download rewards, anniversary packs, and general rewards for being a part of swtor at specific times (seriously I feel amazing with all these in the beginning) for any of my new characters, I've reached the point where my inventory is crammed full before I even do the first mission. If it could be possible, I'd love to have a cargo hold on the starting worlds. At this present time, pre level 10s cannot go to the fleet so it makes inventory space very tight for the starting worlds.
  9. I'd love to be able to swap out abilities with the Jedi/Sith alternative. Getting a DS Jedi to be able to use force choke instead of stasis would feel so sweet. You could have more abilities change as you climb up the alignment too, with the culmination of Sith lightning for Jedi or the whatever the alternative Jedi ability is for the Sith. I'd also like to see a Light Side variant of the Dark Side corruption. Like a smoothing of skin or a light coming from your eyes, maybe even just a general aura. Something that in cut scenes let's everyone around you know that you're on the light side. I have a Sith inquisitor that has been pure light so far and I'd like to see a result of that commitment. There's just so much peer pressure to hurt people on the Imp side! I'd also like to see a neutral alignment change. Like a grey cloud/aura or something as you accumulate both sides of the light and dark on your character. Maybe I'm asking for too much here as a neutral alignment is probably just the default appearance. But aesthetics and status symbols on my characters are weirdly important to me.
  10. I freaking hate Voidstar and actually prefer Huttball or the Novare Coast. To be able to at least check all of them but Voidstar would make me very happy. But for those who like the random function, there should still be that option as well. I just don't like going into a game that I am going to immediately hate and I'm sure my teammates would appreciate having people that are 100% into the game mode they are playing.
  11. I love how this thread won't die, mostly because it is obvious that some people disagree with the reasoning of why Darth Traya beats Revan. After having just read about all the pages I too was a bit disgruntled by the supposed decision reached by the OP. At the most, she could make it a stalemate. At the most. You all have basically boiled it down to her and her assassins vs. Revan and his entire armada. Malachor V was a nice curve ball, but let's be honest: it wasn't what turned Revan to the Dark Side. I I feel as though only someone like the Emperor could twist Revan's mind to his bidding as that was some above and beyond mind control. So Malachor V, while interesting is balanced out with Revan, well Revan. One of the most powerful Jedi known. So it comes down to Revan and his fleet vs. Darth Traya and her assassins. In sheer numbers Revan has that beat, but people seem to continually discuss how Darth Traya can use her ninjas to cut off the head and let the body die. Which would work if Revan hadn't faced that numerous times before. Even in his weakened state after Malack's betrayal I can't help, but remember Revan not being stopped by stealth ambushes. So why would that beat him on his own ship? Or if they do take over one of his many, many ships in his fleet, why one or two ships would stop him? It comes down to how effective are these assassins and how many does Kraya actually have. It is a bit of a numbers game, but also these assassins proved to be very ineffective in the game once they revealed themselves. And a 1v1 fight is equally murky. Kraya has her little floating light saber trick, but that didn't stop a still recovering from being cut off from the Force Exile from beating her. So couldn't a fully powered and operational Revan be able to give an equal *** beating? Especially with age on his side in addition to the Force and his skill with a light saber. While I was pleased to see that people don't gush about Revan as much as I thought, it kind of looked like people made up for it with an over abundance of hate toward the fanboying nature of him. Which may or may not have influenced some people's choices. In the end, would have preferred a vote on this one because these two come really close in terms of their abilities and resources. But oh well. I didn't get a chance to see this when this was originally made so my fault for not replying in time.
  12. I mean we complete the droid because of all the parts we seek out. Grabbing one from HK-47 and one from Revan. So HK-51 should be complete and have something of a personality. HK-47 had one more from his experiences with Revan than with coming with one right out of the box. It wouldn't be too far of a stretch to think that HK-51 would have opinions on things that may or may not interfere to his primary objective of killing undesirables and troublemakers. But if you're fine with him the way he is, that's cool. I'm just a bit disappointed with the amount of effort I did to get him. Then again after doing all that effort I may also be in the mind set of thinking "This droid better be worth it" and as a result, I may be constantly looking for faults in him.
  13. As I said before, I'm not going to even pretend to know what is going on at Bioware or EA so I'm not going to jump to say if people have been purged from the original Bioware. I am getting kind of sick of hearing that this is the reason HK doesn't talk that much: 1. So far as I have been traveling with him with my level 50, he doesn't really say more or less than before. 2. Why shouldn't the Legacy be part of your story's canon? The way I see it, it is all the legend or family of people fighting through the galaxy. Why wouldn't HK-51 pass around with all of them? It's a kind of weird cop out answer that I just keep reading and I'm surprised that gamers are the ones coming up with it.
  14. Love the dialogue guys. A lot of you make good points and I had him run through Nar Shaddaa with my bounty hunter and you're all right, he says A LOT of environmental things. I still would love some more affection gain/loss during dialogues (although I happened to find one where he gained like 46 affection points during some Rakghoul operation dialogue). Still don't agree with the logic of people saying he's only intended for level 50s, if he's part of my legacy and if he can be passed down, then he should be functional with them all So perhaps I jumped the gun in saying he was an "incomplete" companion. But can you blame people like me for getting excited and over hyped about an HK companion? .
  15. I mentioned he says some things when prompted by environmental instances, but what I'm getting at his is over all lack of anything in the lower levels. When passed down in the Legacy he doesn't respond to anything for the lower levels. And even in Corellia when I was actually able to get him, he had opportunities to show likes or dislikes and I'll I got were two passing notes from him. I like having him to fight, but I don't want to switch him out just to make a cut scene all it can be.
  16. Yeah I agree, I may be a bit greedy wanting actual dialogue, but the affection gain/loss would be enough to get me by. As if a nod to let me know he's still there.
  17. My mistake was mentioning Mass Effect. I don't mean it to be like that at all. The companions you are originally given interject rarely true, but they have a pop up of affection gained or lost much more commonly. HK-51 does not seem to have either. Giving him items feels forced, I want him to judge my character for actions or decisions I make. I agree, this was over hyped and I think it had something to do with it being released the same time as the Cartel Market.
  18. Also, if they never end up fixing HK-51 for the older content, then I seriously hope that this Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion has a lot more dialogue for him.
  19. A bit of a misleading title, but seriously, I've googled this and searched through the forums about this, but no one seems to be actually talking about how incomplete HK-51 is. Could it be that there are just not as many level 50 players that acquired him and all those characters running around with HK-51 are all just Legacy of about 50 people? But getting to the point, after 3 weeks over Christmas break I finally got to level 50 and then 3 days later finally finished all of HK-51's missions, hoops, and otherwise tasks (whew). So I have this awesome character and roll him out immediately. But to my dismay he shows no reaction to any conversation he accompanies me to. He stands there silently as prompts like taking the time to kill undesirables or commenting on other kind of droids passes him by. I get suspicious and did some digging. I find out that he says NOTHING in the entire game. That the only way to get him to talk is to either drop some more credits for his gifts or to take him to environmental locations that prompt companions to make a passing comment. A lot of people feel like this is enough. But I'd like to think that the majority of the KotOR fans (like me) would find this is not even close to enough. HK-47 was one of the, if not THE, best character that Bioware has ever created and arguably can give the original characters in Star Wars a run for their money. It was not just his simple lust for battle, it was his immense amount of pride in himself that assured him and you that he was the best droid you could ever have on your side. These kind of comments made this droid incredibly human and hilarious to listen to. I know for myself I had HK-47 almost always in my party for both KotOR games. So when HK-51 came out I would of course do the same. Listen, I get it. From a business perspective HK-51 was a brilliant move. HK comes out right when the Cartel Market is introduced, thereby creating an incentive for almost all of us to use it immediately (Who doesn't want an HK on their team?). It also makes sense why those quests to acquire him were so freaking hard and long, so as to increase player time. Finally, the Legacy option makes sense because it makes you WANT to go back to your lower leveled characters so as to play HK-51 with them. I also don't see the point of people complaining about his gear. The guy comes with all of his abilities and is the most OP DPS in the game, with the most basic gear he is able to get you through just about anything the early game can throw at you. And by the time he needs to be upgraded you already can afford newer stuff anyways. So that is not what I am complaining about. I am incredibly disappointed that he says NOTHING for any of the characters. This is about 90% of the reason to get him. Now I've read people who say things like, "Oh well the main story was retarded and I find that the stuff on Ilum is way more intriguing." Just stop. The main story or rather levels 1-49/50 are about 80-90% of the game in terms of dialogue. So I don't want to hear how one planet makes up all the difference. It just doesn't. Now if it is the terms of how much work would needed to be done I am not even going to try to understand what is going on with EA and Bioware these days. I have always been a Bioware fan and believer (They send me deals for my birthday that allow me to buy Mass Effect collector's editions for a reasonable price). But after the whole Mass Effect 3 debacle, I am cautious. Still have faith, just not blind faith. So I don't want to take the popular approach and blame the company since I do not want to even pretend to know what is going on with them. But I do know that binders of dialogue Bioware showed off when talking about this game and I realize the amount of work it would take to incorporate a fully integrate HK-51 for ALL the characters. However, HK-51 was advertised as being fully integrated. He shouldn't feel like some glitch or walking specter. This is where some player will snap at me about how characters who aren't level 50 shouldn't have him anyways because they have yet to go through the quest. Well you know what? One of my characters did go through those missions. And it was Hell and gratuitous and incredibly rewarding. And in fact, if you finish all of it you should buy HK-51 for the rest of your Legacy (credits or cartel coins). You earned it. Treat yourself and the rest of your characters to the family robot. HK-51 has the potential to be the amazing character, but from all accounts he does nothing, but fight. And here is where someone says "Well that's fine with me because now I have a character that doesn't judge me whenever I make decisions." I like that reason. It works. But after a planet of quests with a companion that shows no interest in anything I do, I feel lonely. In a MMO, I feel lonely with my HK-51 companion. He should be fully implemented into every character. If it was a matter of time or money I know I would have spent at least 5 more dollars on him if it meant he would be in my story (Yes I am that desperate). At the very least (And I mean very least), he should be fully implemented with the Bounty Hunter or Imperial Agent because those two seem to be the most in lined with what HK-51/HK-47 is all about, killing targets and taking pleasure in it. tl;dr: I get he's not HK-47. I get he's only obtainable for level 50s. I get that it is a lot of work to put dialogue in. But if Bioware stated that he is going to be fully integrated, then he should be FULLY integrated into all the characters. Low levels included. I like the idea of a family robot being passed down. And it would make me play way more knowing that HK-51 adds some new flavor to all the character stories.
  20. Hope this hasn't already been asked: Simple question, but with the addition of new servers, will we be able to transfer characters from a FULL server to a LIGHT one? And if so, will this cost us money like WoW?
