  1. This. BW/EA need to stop worrying about getting a bit of a bad press from this and do it for the sake of their paying customers. Otherwise the empty servers will just keep getting emptier and emptier as more and more people will unsub. I really don't see rerolling on a different server and starting from scratch as a viable option, I'd rather stop playing then going through all the grind again.
  2. Well, the problem is that if you aren't having fun playing the game, then cancelling your subscription really is the only option there is. I completely agree that swtor has huge potential, but if someone's not having fun, then why should s/he keep paying for access to the game if s/he's not gonna play the game? I don't see cancelling a subscription of a game you're not enjoying as giving up too easily; in fact, paying for the game even though I'm not gonna play it seems like an incredible waste of money to me.
  3. Just play it however you want mate, there's no best way, there's just the one where you have the most fun
  4. I actually think I hate every single planet there is in the game, except for maybe Alderaan (I love the scenery there). Whenever my class quest takes me to another planet, I always find myself saying "oh fok, not this boring planet again".
  5. I love the way this is done in Rift. The mounts there are "as fast as your fastest mount" is. That means that originally the mount might have increased your speed only by 60%, but when you buy a faster one, your previous mounts "level up" and you are able to keep using the one you like the most without being at a disatvantage. Which also means that if you bought a CE or something that contained a premium mount, other players can't ***** and moan about you being given unfair advantages, because you still have to spend your money on faster mounts. It just means that if you happen to like the CE mount the most, you can still keep using it even at level 50.
  6. Oh, I remember camping that spot where they spawn for about a month before the helmet dropped. Great times
  7. This... has left me absolutely speechless... I can't for the love of God decide whether you're actually serious or...
  8. yeah. ultimately it boils down to you enjoying or not enjoying leveling different alts I guess. I usually do like it, but repeating the same quests over and over again without any change whatsoever (except for the class quest, which really is only a minor part of the overall leveling experience) is just not fun for me. Again, if you do enjoy it, then that's awesome, but I wanted to start banging my head against the wall when I had to do that abomination of a planet called Balmorra. And then, when I landed on Nar Shaddaa, I just turned the game off and made a different alt (because I thought that I'm not enjoying the game because of the class I'm playing, not because of the game - I hoped it's not the game, because I wanted so much to love this game). Only with my fourth alt did I realize that it's not me, it's the game.
  9. funny how probably everyone here saying s/he's not quitting is either a fresh 50 or not 50 at all yet Just wait and see what a boredom this game turns out to be once you hit max level and THEN write whether you're quitting or not, guys. If you like this game even about 2 weeks after you hit 50, then more power to ya, I envy you.
  10. SWG - from launch til a month after NGE was released, best MMO ever imo and I don't care what everyone else says, that game was brilliant WoW - less than a month DAoC - less than a week. Didn't like this game at all for some reason. EQ2 - 2 months - good game but back then I didn't have computer good enough to run it without framerate issues, which only got worse as my level was increasing and the fights were getting epic-er Shame it's in that absurd not-so-free2play state now, otherwise I'd give it a go again. LotRO - 2 years and counting (proud owner of a lifetime sub, don't regret buying that for a second). I don't play it now as often as I used to (haven't logged in for about two months to be exact), but every once in a while I feel like playing and always enjoy the time spent in the game when I do. SWTOR - a month and a half. Had a lot of fun until I hit 50, then I realized I spent the most of my time racing around fleet bored to death. Levelling alts, as much as I loved it in other games, is even more boring than sitting at the fleet - the huge-but-lifeless planets, with ridiculous travel times, are a real deal-breaker; plus, listening to the same voiceovers is boring as hell and when you skip the VOs you realize just how boring most of those quests are. Here's hoping that The Secret World will be as good as I hope it to be. I know it's being developed by Funcom, but I trust they've learned from their mistakes
  11. Haha, I know what you mean man Boy oh boy am I glad that I didn't have enough money to subscripe for 6 month, because just like you I thought that I would love this game an year later and there's no way I'd ever get bored of it
  12. Nope, cancelled and doubt that I'll even check out the 1.2 update (even though I still have almost 2 months of game time remaining). This game is - at least for me - one of the biggest letdowns as far as video games are concerned. The levelling was fun and all that, so as a singleplayer game this would have been cool I guess, but that's all there is to this game and I, sadly, don't see this improving any time soon. To put it simply, this game is not an MMORPG. I'm not paying monthly fees to level up alts and keep doing the same quests over and over again.
  13. This. Exactly this. It varies, of course, so you may still have fun even after hitting 50, but for me as well as for many of my friends the fun has basically ended two weeks after hitting 50 and realizing that I spent most of my time riding around the fleet bored to death. Enjoy the ride, the first run through the story is absolutely awesome, but don't jump into 6 month subscription just yet, wait until you hit 50 and see what you think of the game after the initial amazement has worn off. I, for example, see nothing but boredom. I only spend about 2 hours a week in the game now, and most of the time I'm thinking "Why the hell am I still playing this game?". And that's coming from someone who has CE, bought a new computer to have the best experience possible (the fps is still terrible, of course, but I guess that's because I'm in that minority that has problems with running this game on high-end rigs), and someone who was convinced to subscribe for 6 months (luckily I had some unexpected expenses and so had to subscribe for only 3 months, thank God for that at least). I was a huge fanboy of this game for many, many years, but the product is just not worth monthly subscription in my opinion. (it took me almost two months to get to 50 for the first time, fyi)
  14. I have an active subscription for another 2 months and I do not regret that; however, if I were to decide whether to cancel/not cancel at this exact moment, I would choose not to resubscribe. The game's not bad and I'm sure that in 6-12 months it will really be great, but right now, the only thing to do is to level alts. PvP is terrible, HM FPs are only fun for so long, and ops are buggy beyond belief. I have never been a person who likes to have 5 characters in one MMO game, I have always preferred to play one character most of the time and to make another character only when I feel like it. This game, however, is forcing me to make alts; there is, simply, nothing else to do. I think that right now the game is not worth the money. I sincerely hope it'll improve soon.
  15. I don't... I can't even... What the hell are you smoking/taking?
  16. good. It's fun and I'm mostly having a good time when playing, but it's still not as great as I hoped or expected it to be. It is, however, good enough that I'm expecting to resub when my 3 month plan runs out if things don't go down the *******.
  17. This. So much this that I find it unbelievable that Bioware still haven't implemented this.
  18. The surge is actually being buffed to hit DR later than now. So you're gonna have a higher surge rating with less surge points but you can't stack it to inconceivable amounts. Read something about upcoming fixes before you start QQing and calling BW incompetent.

    Healer?

Hello. I'm contemplating making a IA healer, as my BH is a DPS machine, everyone has sorcerer healer and I loved IA storyline in the beta, so I'm thinking about starting playing IA now and healer was on my second-to-make list. However, I read that IA healer aren't as good as, say, sorcerers. Is that true? Is IA healer even worth making? And is he useful in end game raids/flashpoints, or do other classes easily outperform IA healer? Thanks.
  20. ever since yesterday we've run 7 HMs, and 7 of those times an IA columi token dropped. Either we were really unlucky, or there's something wrong. 6 of those times we were BH DPS, Sorc healer, Jug tank and Operative dps. The seventh time we swapped op for assassin dps, still IA gear dropped. There just has to be something wrong 7 out of 7 isn't just bad luck... Never had that problem before yesterday tho.
  21. Has anyone run a HM since yestereay's patch with someone else's columi equip dropping but IA's? I did seven since yesterday and NOT ONCE have I seen a drop for other class than IA. Seriously, a fresh lvl 50 guildie got his entire equip while the rest of us got nothing. Anyone else noticed this, or am I just special?
  22. I agree with this completely. If taking down servers earlier at a time when almost nobody is playing means that they will be available sooner at a time when people start returning from school/work and want to play, then no one, I think, can really complain about this.
