It's just with the quest bosses. Even very well geared, Kaliyo still takes a beating on quest bosses. Normally by the time we get the quest boss to a little under half health, Kaliyo is dead and then I get to where it's almost dead and then I die. Granted sometimes I will defeat it but I wouldn't call it "easy" as you do. It's definately doable, but it's not SIMPLE like I can do it with my eyes closed. And the Chapter boss was not doable at all for me regardless of the gear I had nor what Kaliyo had. Playing smartly I was able to get the boss down to half health before I wiped, even with CC'ing it and having good energy management. I'm not saying soloing with a concealment operative isn't possible, but it's not a walk in the park on some of these quest bosses like the full heal spec is. And I don't believe anyone that says they can solo a Champion mob as a full concealment spec unless they are seriously outleveling that Champion. Not buying it.

Energy regen and management was never a problem. CC abilities weren't the problem either. The issue is that Kaliyo doesn't last against the Chapter 1 boss regardless of the CC that is used. I always had plenty of energy as I have good management skill in that regard. The issue is that he does a good amount of damage and knockbacks so Kaliyo dies, then I'm dead. I have full orange gear, and Kaliyo is full purple with maybe 1 non purple piece.

You obviously have not leveled a concealment operative before. Please let us know when you do.

You obviously have been playing against bad Operatives. A level 50 operative will completely own a level 50 merc in seconds hitting from stealth. My stealth opener will almost destroy you.

I always went into an area and killed elite gold's that were my level. Granted I could do it, but it wasn't efficient. Quest gold's are a completely different story however. You haven't gotten to your Chapter 1 quest boss yet (i wont spoil it for you), but I would like to see you try to kill him even with Kaliyo. I use a very good rotation that mixes in the melee skills, with cc, and with some healing and I couldn't do it. I even used buff stims, medpaks, and still couldn't get him down. I do very well in PvP and know the Concealment spec very well, and still needed help from a guildie to kill him. I have respec'd to full heal spec and can solo Champion mobs. So it's not that I don't know my class, it's that the chapter quest bosses aren't doable unless you get lucky with crits. Kiting him doesn't work either.

You can solo quest elites without your companion? I call BS. Also, anyone can Sever Tendon and kite around an Elite mob that doesn't have ranged pretty easily. But against those that have ranged, use grapple, and have pretty good ranged damage I doubt very seriously you can do it. Not as a full concealment spec.

The Chapter 1 boss was impossible for me to solo as a Concealment spec no matter what tactic I used. I tried dps'ing against him, didn't work. I tried sitting back and healing my tank (Kaliyo), didn't work. I tried kiting him around, didn't work. I was able to take on other elites usually, but some of the quest elites and the chapter 1 boss was not doable for me. Guildie of mine that did it on his full medic spec, was able to do it ridiculously easy.

It wasn't that I had trouble leveling as Concealment, it was doing the quest bosses that used ranged. 1. Kaliyo tanks boss, I do dps. Kaliyo doesn't survive (even in top gear), and then I get owned. If Kaliyo dies, I die. 2. Kaliyo tanks boss, I stand back and heal (as a Concealment spec). My heals are awful and the boss out-dps's my healing. Kaliyo dies, I die. 3. Vector is used as companion. I send in Vector and then pull aggro, snare boss, and kite. I kite and kite and kite and kite the mob around the room (as a MELEE Concealment spec). - During kiting, if the boss used ranged I die. - During kiting, if the boss was melee I won. 4. The boss (Sith lord) of the Chapter 1 end quest was NOT doable for me no matter how many times I tried. Didn't matter which companion I used. Didn't matter if I went toe to toe, or kited using sever tendon. He had ranged and melee. He destroyed me, and I know my class. Summary: Concealment spec is doable for leveling, but against some of the quest boss mobs you are going to have some frustration. My advice: Level up as a full healing spec, and then respec to Concealment at level 50.

Oh gawd, here we go. Herbey you have absolutely no clue of what you're talking about. Concealment Operatives are actually pretty weak. Their only attack is AB/HS. The rest is just CC. Also you take any skilled PvP player and they will wipe the floor with an Op if they survive the initial opener. I'm level 40, and I got completely destroyed by a level 42 Trooper Vanguard. I couldn't damage him much at all.

Ambush/Cheap Shot as Concealment? Umm wut? Concealment Operatives don't get Ambush as it's a Sniper only skill. Could you please clarify what you are talking about? OP: I have a level 40 Op now, and had leveled as Concealment but just respec'd to healing. It was a horrible leveling experience as Concealment for the simple fact that against boss mobs you get owned and are forced to kite. You can do it, but not going toe to toe with them. Chapter 1 boss I had to get help from a guildie with. Kaliyo was spec'd out in top gear and I still couldn't do it. Once I changed to an Healing Operative it was different.

Wait till you get to Hoth. You'll see a ton of players due to the bases being somewhat close.

Honestly I have a level 40 merc and I rerolled cause I didn't think they were all that great. It's not that the class needs a nerf, it's that they need a better design. They lack mobility and when a class gets in melee range the BH is toast. Spamming Tracer missle = a waste of time for me.

Not just the fact that level 50's have better gear, but also they have better ABILITIES that just wreck the lower levels.

People need to seriously stop with these OP nerf threads. The testers and Bioware did months of testing on these classes for balance. The classes are balanced at level 50. Some bloom earlier than others. Snipers do good damage because once a melee class gets in their face they get wrecked. They also have pathetic mobility. I watched a level 50 sith maurauder completely destroy a level 50 sniper because the maurauder knew how to play his class and interrupted the sniper. Then it was all over. Stop QQ'ing about nerfs.

I had planned on going full Concealment to get AB (http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401bfZGhGodkrcfzZ0M.1), but I am curious about doing a hybrid spec with Lethality + Healing (http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401MfcMdZ0cZGroorbhd.1) I would think that full Concealment would be better in 1v1 situations and in open world PVP, however maybe Lethality + Healing would be better in WZ PvP, Group PvP and doing PvE questing? Your thoughts?

Congrats, you now have officially made level 50 premades the dominant force to be reckoned with in Warzone, ahem...I mean Huttzone. What is the point of going into a WZ solo now if I get penalized for losing? Is there a point to WZ pvp now? It's just not fun to play Huttball over and over and over again losing to level 50's and then getting penalized for it. Huge mistake Bioware. This actually makes me think twice about resubbing.

No. Regardless if you're melee or ranged, you use Cunning. All IA's use Cunning as their main stat, and it doesn't matter what build you are or spec. IA healers use cunning, melee'ers use cunning, snipers use cunning.

How do you have Acid Blade at level 32? That's not possible.

This thread is seriously useless and completely annoying. 95% of the MMO's since the start have you put your CC info in to subscribe so you can play the game. You can always cancel before the first 30 days is up and you won't get charged. WHY OH WHY is this so difficult to understand?

This is no different than ANY other MMO that has been released since the beginning of time. Get onboard with it or get left behind. Period.
