  1. I'm on GMT time so usually when these pug rateds kick off I'm offline. BUT saying that if they ever fire up early some night and you need a Jugg tank I'd most likely make myself available.
  2. You can do it with 2. Stand next to the force field, both fire, then strafe through. There's a delay between the shoot action stopping and the field coming up. You then just fire from the opposite side while the 2nd person repeats the above. But yea its pointless. My bro and I 2 manned this on release day only to find the final section needs 4. We just called for 2 more guys to come fire at the generators on the sides. Even if they don't kill the boss they still get credit for the quest after the grenade is thrown. So yea, have fun running it 2 man, I ran 2 under geared alts through from my guild earlier and we were talking about it being a bit more fun with less players. A little extra thought and strategy required but its easy done. 1 thing we did find, the guy we called in to come help at the end couldn't throw the grenade as his quest log didn't have the dread commander dead, but when he hit the generators and my GM through the grenade it marked the quest ask complete for him.
  3. I'd definitely be down for this.
  4. People are not forced to "PvP to get PvE rewards", they are offered the chance to play the game to get game rewards. If this event isn't for their tastes then they simply leave it be and hope the next one is. I'm sure the tokens will be traded just like in all the other events, so if people are so dead set against entering a PvP zone but must have the items from it, just run dailies and buy the tokens for the stuff you want. P.S. that's not aimed at Darthgroond, just his quoted phrase seems to be something which is a common view among the people complaining here.
  5. I don't really have a problem jugg tanking to be honest, but you need to make sure you're not stacking shield and junk like that expecting it to work. The free slow is a cracking tool and as Cates mentioned, the mobility is unparalleled. The tank set stats are garbage for the most part, but if you slot the useful mods it makes a massive difference.
  6. I get what you mean, since he puts a bit of a gruff voice on sometimes as Snake in the MGS films, but when you hear him normally its pretty obvious
  7. Personally I don't think its as bad as people make out unless you solo queue. Solo queueing is often brutal, but what people need to remember is that may of the guys also solo queueing aren't interested in PvP at all, they just want the mods for raids or RE. This is where the Imppvp channel steps in and I really think Xzil deserves some props for this. Anyone willing to put their head on the block and answer a call or make their own will find their PvP experience greatly improved. Most of my games grouped are generally through Didact with a bunch of the Unicorn guys or Xeoneth when he's on this side, but when things are quiet I'll group up with guys in the channel. I grouped as a 2 earlier with Physco and we only lost 1 match, albeit we did have a couple of good guys matched into our ops group. The biggest difference I've noticed is more guys are taking on rolls which were often missing in imperial pug groups such as tanks and heals. I've played so many games where I've been in a group of 8 dps against pub teams with 2 or 3 heals etc. Now it's much more common to see teams impside with 25k+ tanks and a couple of healers thrown in. I rolled back tank myself which I hadn't really played for months since it was depressing to play solo queued, but with the new group channel that's less of an issue. In summary, use the channel and you'll find it less of a problem. Solo queueing is pretty shocking on either side to be fair unless you luck into a group with a premade.
  8. Excellent, will watch again with some beers tonight on the big TV
  9. Keep them rare, stuff like that is a nice treat in MMO's On a side note, let the PvP version be tradable or Bound to Legacy, I've still got spares in my cargo hold waiting to be sent to alts.
  10. So that we will keep buying the actual Star Wars looking gear from the Cartel Store. If that wasn't the intention, why does the new robe (brown hood down) that people have been asking for almost since release have a higher price than the other sets? They know exactly what we want, they're just making sure we pay to get it.
  11. ^^ This Ignoring crit gives you the option to stack a ton extra smash damage. Take away the auto crit and you're looking at maybe 1/5 massive hits rather than 5/5
  12. The early days after the Kaas city merger on CO were pretty nice with the influx of good PvP players and guilds hitting the queues. I was inactive for like a month over the summer and it seemed everyone had folded or re-rolled when I got back queuing. Pretty sure I know who you mean and I can see why he thought that way, if you want to see if you stand out in the best team then you need to be where the best team is and he's probably not alone. After that, inactivity causes their friends to re-roll because they have no one to chat to on imp side, then their returning friends re-roll and its a domino effect after that. At least that's what happened to most of the guys I played with, Vis and Grisha had mates that side so when this side went quiet they moved over. Ukko, Kov and other peeps returned after the summer and pretty much everyone they knew was there so off they went. Similar has just happened with our old leader Aep I think, he mentioned about rolling a toon there and he's gone quiet on this side There are a few exceptions to the rule I'm hoping will stay this side.
  13. PvE side seems to be fine this side, but in PvP there are a few ego's without sense around and there was a prime example yesterday. We had a guy complaining at Krupp's sniper because he killed him a few times. Now there's usually no surprise in dying in PvP but for some reason this guy decided to comment. After a few back and forth comments it goes quiet so you'd think it was finished at this point. Nothing too much out of the ordinary. Fast forward to the next game and we get matched on the same huttball team, so his friend decides to remove his chest & pants and claim he's going out DPS him (not sure what this would have proved as Krupp has been 50 on his sniper for like 4 days). Anyway, after failing at this he decided to cop out and whine about objective points instead. Welcome to Imperial PvP. Where stroking ePeen is more important than trying to improving the situation. A couple of months back there were a few groups of PvP players around Canderous Ordo who could handle most matches. With Sever/Talisman we'd go days without defeats and the ones we did lose were generally to LD50 pre mades but they were usually still good matches. The exodus of players mentioned earlier seems to have knocked imp PvP back alot. A lot of good guys we had from guilds who went inactive are now on republic chars and I can see many of the returning players following suit. To be honest there are some decent players kicking around on this side, even the craptalkers can do a job I just wish they'd shut up and get on with it and get people improving rather than twist about rubbish.
  14. Gotta agree with above and say the damage is only over the top because of the auto crit. Combining high crit damage, face rolling difficulty, automatic crit and AoE together is a little mad for 1 ability. The vengeance play style is way more interesting to be honest. But in a poor group the advantages of the big AoE is a nice one to have. Now we have free respec's i generally jump back to vengeance when my mates log in for the evening.
  15. Wow that's a bit disrespectful, a lot of Bothan's died to get those plans. Oh and speaking of the chosen one someone mentioned earlier
  16. We had some real good players with the Talisman/Sever group, but most re rolled pub during the slow period around the time GW2 hit. Most of them who I've spoke to on my pub alts seem to be enjoying it plenty and I highly doubt would roll back to imp side. It's a shame because we used to have some decent groups around pretty much all day back in those times. It mostly seems to be myself, Dice and Marax who are left from those sort of guilds. I've seen the odd player pop on recently like Krupp and Aep but I know they're pretty friendly with a lot of the guys who already switched so I think we may see returning guys like that heading over there soon. On a side note, I've still had a number of decent games when I've been thrown in with the Virtuous et Honor, Order 66 and Uncensored guys, but outside of being grouped with those you're unlikely to get a decent group on this side. A new guild of decent players who queued plenty and knew what they were doing would only be a good thing.
  17. I use the noble commanders robe with mine. For heavy classes the majority of the "black" seemed to be grey so it didn't really match well. Marauders exalted tunic (the black one) would go well for medium armour classes
  18. Plenty of people did it before on Ilum, if they added some quests back there people would go there and fight again. It may turn into a slideshow (again) but people would still go. They took it out because it was embarrassing for them, not because no one did it. Tuesdays especially after the reset on Canderous Ordo had some massive battles. Most nights had some sort of action there.
  19. Its just a robe with the hood down and some armour under it. I don't particularly associate the style with Sith or Jedi other than the fact you can obtain one like that on imperial side already. Although I'll agree with the red, generic black/brown would have probably suited more players. You don't see a lot of jedi running around with bright red robes. Hood toggle would be great, but from most armours you can clearly see the hood is just stuck on as an after thought. SWG had the feature on the Master cloak where you could have a hood up/down which worked fine and just swapped the texture of the robe for the hood down model. Like you say most of them are already in the game so I don't see why this feature is taking so long (maybe with the exception of some of the consular robes which don't seem to have a hood down variation anywhere)
  20. Dire Eliminators Chestguard. Is that not hood down and available for 350cc straight up? Although we're about to see pretty much every Jedi char running around with this given how often something like this has been asked for.
  21. I love the wider effect on the green, yellow and cyan blades but I can see why people would want them to match the rest of the colours, it doesn't really make sense for them to be different for no reason. Maybe they could add crystals of various colours with both effects, that way the player can chose whichever they prefer. (EDIT* guy above just beat me to the punch with that one ) Lots of players either like, or have learnt to like these wider effects and would just whine if they were changed now. The better option is to provide both and let people chose.
  22. A fen is a type of wetland. They probably used fen rather than bog or marsh or whatever simply because it sounds better.
  23. As much as (some) people appreciate improvements being made, I'm curious of the range of systems these optimisations are tested on. Since 1.4 myself along with many others have started having multiple crashes during play sessions. Prior to 1.4 the game ran very stable. Now 1 person (I know, that hardly qualifies as a sample http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=549368 ) mentioned upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit OS seems to have solved their issues. This got me a little interested and is something I feel your department could give a response too. So are these changes made with 64 bit in mind? Are they even tested on a 32 bit system or is this a total none issue and simply 1 persons experience with an upgrade? Is it something which has been looked in to?
  24. This would be sweeter if you could do it on opposing fleets/capital worlds ToR should really make some vendors hidden away in places like this to encourage a raid/defence into enemy territory once in a while and ensure its not just lowbies who are getting stomped there. It's funny how many people think warzones are the be all and end all of PvP these days. No idea why people need a reward to make them PvP. In most games I've played, fun and bragging rights were enough to get people out into the world and fighting over areas. Now it seems if you aren't working on your gear grind its just dismissed as pointless. Good on you for taking some initiative and making something happen.
