  1. Meh, I liked both. As a game, KOTOR 2 was probably better, but a few years to improve and refine things will do that. Chosing between them personally is hard. While I liked the good old no-namer to hero story of the first, I also liked the darker more cynical view of the factions, almost from a neutral perspective. In my experience of SW games its pretty unique for just that. My main problem was the botched ending. I remember defeating Kreia and getting that long drawn out chat scene. After the final FMV i kinda expected something to happen yet the credits rolled leaving me thinking, is that it? Given a bit more time to properly construct a more in depth ending and that game would have been epic. So in short, I loved both for different reasons
  2. The bronze/Dark orange ones looked great in KOTOR and in SWG.
  3. Oh please no, enough with the black cores already.
  4. I suppose this gives people a few extra weeks to get augment crafted gear and play with the new skill setups. that said, dropping this a few hours before the servers are brought down is the latest in a long line of terrible communication issues. BioWare really need to get a grip. Many of the in game issues are blown out of proportion by people who like to hate on the game but poor communication is probably their biggest problem right now. I don't think they lack respect for the community, but because of things like this, I can see how people may think that way.
  5. My droid engineer took all of about 3 days and maybe 5m credits to get 90 Levelling a trader was not hard at all. Gathering materials yourself just increased the time taken.
  6. Wait a minute, A US player complaining they get the "Shaft" with downtime? Not sure if serious
  7. Sounds like you're mistaken. The speeders will not be removed from the game when 1.2 comes out. They will simply be removed from vendors and the BoP restrictions removed meaning players will be the only source of them. What needs clarifying is whether or not the Prince/Sovereign are included in the lifting of these trade restrictions. I already have the ones I want, including spare Princes for alts, but it now seems the Prince/Sovereign is not included in the lifting of trade restrictions. Is it by design or a mistake? Will it remain that way after 1.2? why wasn't it excluded in the economic update notes rather than leave people to buy spares and find out after the event? This is what I would like clearing up. The removal of trade restrictions from these speeders is quoted from the economic update patch.
  8. To be honest this was the original reason I made this post in the PTS forums. But even if it is still BoP on the PTS without a dev response we don't know if its by design or its just simply been missed as its not on the normal vendor. But again, bumped awaiting a dev response. I'm starting to think I should flag it to at least get some attention.
  9. Go check the vendor, it says Binds on Pickup. Not to mention the 2 spares I have in my inventory both say bound I made a similar thread looking for a dev response at http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=380098 As usual they were quick to move it away from the PTS forums (its a question about the current build) then into the PvP forums from general. Seems no one has bothered giving me an answer so far which is getting annoying. I'd hazard a guess that they will not be traded after 1.2 as their requirement has not been dropped, but if that is the case then the whole thing has been shockingly communicated as they didn't specifically exclude these speeders from the lifting of the trade restriction in the economic update patch.
  10. You still need the raid drops. Gear appearance is not the progression.
  11. Again, Star Wars has its iconic looks and people expect to see them. They don't have to be as seen in the films but to at least look like they could be put in there and not look out of place. If this game was called Steak Wars and the darkside all ate a "dry-aged cowboy-cut ribeye" in the Steak Wars film then you're damn well sure I'd expect to see that here. Just the same as when I see Star Wars and I am a Jedi, or a Sith I expect to be using a lightsaber and to look like a Jedi or a Sith. By that argument you could do away with lightsabers too and say well its an aesthetic choice and not everyone likes them. This is not just about peoples personal aesthetic choices, it's about what fits and what just looks out of place. If Vader said the Emperor is on his way in the film and he turned up dressed like MC Hammer with blades and spikes attached to his shoulders and knees, people would have got up and left.
  12. While that rings true in a game like WoW, or Rift, or practically any other MMO around these days, Star Wars already has its iconic looks which should be respected and represented at all levels. My question would be why is none of this stuff shown in the media trailers. We didn't see Malgus with 18 inch spikes on his shoulders and a black core lightsaber. While I understand the idea behind making the top gear stand out, it really shouldn't be at the expense of immersion for the player. Having your character and others around you looking like they belong there is important for many players. To reference SWG, towards the end those with Elder robes stood out from those without. These robes we're particularly extravagant and they certainly didn't have the enormous shoulder pads we see here. They were just a different style and looked more like the masters robes seen in the films. The problem I personally have with it is that I cannot imagine anyone in the SW universe using this stuff purely based on its functionality. Imagine just trying to even walk around with a large elvish rune shaped shoe horn stuck in the front of your boot, or your shoulder as seen in the sorcerer PvE armour. Take away those bits and hide the head slot and that armour won't look half bad. Oh and please reduce the cost of removing mods. It cost me just under 400k the other night to move mods from 4 bits into a new armour set. If you truly want players to have the option to chose not to use this stuff it kinda makes little sense to have a financial penalty attached to switching it. This was only for grade 58 mods too, I dread to think how much it'll be for the 61 grade when I switch armours after 1.2 is released.
  13. Group with your guildmates/friends and run dailies.
  14. Bumped again, cheers for the info so far. The reason behind requesting a dev response is simply because if they aren't tradable like the other Korealis speeders, while its not strictly conflicting with the economic update notes it is not really as open with the community as that post was meant to be. While I appreciate the info so far, we don't know if these trade restrictions currently in place are an oversight or if that is truely how they are intended to be at 1.2 launch. Many players including myself have either bought spares or intend to buy spares for alts, friends or just to trade later. I'm sure it would be appreciated by those players if one could come and give us a definitive answer.
  15. Don't think a dev ever said it was from the box. That quote is from the comments on one of the database sites. Georg Zoeller said there were 2 in 1.8b drops or something and I highly doubt 1.8b of those boxes have been opened.
  16. Up again. This is the problem when a question about the current PTS build is removed from the PTS forums. No one who knows comes across it unless a dev stumbles across the post.
  17. Definitely, I've seen a few awesome creations on DA posted around the forums and would love to see what the design team can come up against head to head. The thing is I think they know they look ridiculous, because in most of the trailers and media materials there are no black sabers, no massive shoulders and no ridiculous hats. just the good old traditional robes and colours.
  18. Yep you're right. The original post in the economic update also spoke about the removal of trade restrictions from "some" of these speeders to allow the trade of them between players after they are removed. Now because the the PvP speeders were effected by this item cost reduction and they have said the Korealis speeders will be removed, many players including myself have assumed the removal of BoP to allow these to be traded to other players extended to all these also. In other threads players seem to be saying they can't be traded like the other speeders. Now I'm not sure if they've tried it or not, but before I start wasting more commendations buying these for friends it would be nice to get a definitive answer.
  19. There are some abilities which are PvE only for balance reasons i'm assuming. This is one. Pommel strike is another.
  20. Can second that. Nothing better than the accusations of exploiting from the derp's who sit in cover at the top of their ramp, not realising a jump puts them inside the 10m range. OP - Nice rank.
