  1. You have mentioned free character transfers and a generous system with regards to transferring your Legacy; moreover, it has been mentioned that you are working on improving your tech in order to provide the possibility of so-called "super servers". Therefore, is it possible that you will allow us to have more than the current max of 8 character slots per server in the near future, such as in 1.3 or soon after? Many thanks!
  2. I raid as a Vigilance PVE DPS and I have had no problems with enrage timers so far in raids up to EV and KP nightmare. EC normal mode is also no problem atm. EC HM though is another story but I've never had a chance to dps there because our tanks have been slacking recently and I've been tanking it :/ I honestly think that Vig DPS is among the best melee dps in the game. Of course sentinels beat us but thats nothing new but the margin isnt as large as everyone makes it out to be; however, it is significant enough for progression raids like EC HM. In all honesty though, the problem is less "Guardian dps sucks" but rather "Melee dps sucks". There are no fights in this game that benefit being melee, except maybe the right hand side of the 2nd boss in EC, and every encounter is made a lot easier simply by being ranged. Its not like melee do inherently more damage than ranged so it seems to me that Bioware raid designers have no clue how to design raids for melee. Nonetheless, its still definitely doable to do raids with a melee heavy group....its just alot harder
  3. Master Strike probably does less damage than an Overhead Slash + Bladestorm combo with their dots, but there are some points worth noting: 1) Master Strike is free: if you use it, that means you wont need to use Strike as often, which seems like a dps increase to me. 2) Master Strike is 3 attacks, meaning there is a chance that at least 1 of the attacks will crit; with others, thats not the case, making Master Strike a bit more attractive to use in case reason 1) wasn't enough. EDIT: My dps also seems to increase when I use Master Strike every cd but since 1.2 I've never used a rotation that didnt insert Master Strike in it. I'll try later to do a parse without using it, but when I use Master Strike at every cd it makes up for about 20% of my dps roughly, which is just slightly short of the damage my Plasma Brand does(including its dot) and a lot more than Bladestorm or Overhead Slash.
  4. Plus, as Vigilance u will always have the Plasma Brand dot ticking, and probably the other dots from Bladestorm and Overhead Slash ticking, so I think the proc relics are quite good for Vigilance at least As to which one is better, Ill have to test it out or wait until someone else does:P
  5. Tanks are generally in demand so they can afford to only group wtih friends/guildies. Plus, the HM flashpoints in this game are actually quite hard when compared to the 'other' game where people need to know the tactics or its just a wipefest, which inevitably makes pugging a lot less attractive.
  6. Yes it still procs even if master strike isnt on cd. But after 1.2 master strike does tons of damage so I try to use it whenever its off cd
  7. No thats what I mean.... with 5stacks of my armour debuff, the internal damage relic does more damage than the kinetic one and they are the same level. It might change with 2 or 3 debuffs, but I need a gunslinger and/or commando to put on the debuff to test it out and ive been too lazy to atm
  8. Kinetic and Energy are only better with more than 1 armour debuff on I think. I tried hitting a target dummy with only my armour debuff up and the internal one still does more damage. I dont know if you need 2 or 3 different armour buffs to make kinetic/energy more viable than internal/elemental though...
  9. I admit Guardian AOE threat is so woefully lacking that its almost laughable, but on Bossfights you really shouldnt be having a problem. Just remember to prioritize ur high theat abilities at the start. Normally I do: Saber throw --- Leap --- Guardian Slash + Combat Focus ----- Hlilt Strike ---- Sunder --- Blade Storm --- Force Sweep Then just use a normal rotation. Some classes, like Shadow dps, have stupidly high burst so this helps counter it. However, if threat is pulled, you can just use ur taunt and it gives u back top threat + 10% extra so itll not be a problem. Threat is only a problem at the start of the fight; after 30seconds it becomes a mute point.
  10. If the boss isn't targetting you on the Bonecrusher fight you shoudl not be getting hit by the swipes; if you are, you are doing it wrong and giving your healers a very hard time On Karagga, the only damage you should be taking are drill hits, which are raid-wide and unavoidable, and when you get pulled into those gravity vortexes: that is perfectly normal and there is no way a sentinel would take less damage unless he had a defensive cd up for some reason (and your heavy armour means you take less damage). The only other damage in that fight is fires on the ground, rockets in front, and fires behind him, all of which you should NOT be taking; if you are, you are doing it wrong and giving your healers a hard time On Fabricator, I have yet to see someone get 1shotted by the missile when on full HP on hard mode... I have no idea if defensive roll reduces the damage you take if the missile targets you but its a mute point: if you have the missile, you run away from everyone and only take the hit yourself: if the melee get blown up by the missile, then someone is doing something wrong. This is particularly bad since the person targetted only takes damage, whereas the AOE dmg also stuns, so if your tank is low on hp, has a few stacks of the debuff, and is stunned, its VERY hard on ur healers Also, I don't think sentinels are THAT superior to vigilance dps tbh: I can certainly tell they are higher, and they do alot more damage on boss dummies due to the dummies being 100% hittable all the time with their offhand, but their greatest abilitties by far are the raid-wide damage/movement speed boosts and their cd that turns them pretty much invincible for a few seconds and allowing them to finish an encounter if things get really messy. Even so, I like the mobility of my Guardian: guardian leap moves me away so i dont need to run and also acts as a threat drop for those over-agroing dps. Moreover, I prefer the feel my Vigilance Guardian with its single saber: its dps is steady and constant, and though the rotation feels alot less complicated than the sentinel, I still find it quite enjoyable and fitting my playstyle: alot less 'rogue' like and more 'warrior' like.
  11. Thats an attitude problem with the guild and its not something that can be easily changed. Telling people Jugg DPS is viable isn't the same as convincing them Also, if you want to join a guild that does nightmare modes and has to min/max then you are probably not going to be in their progression runs. If I has a raidleader of a hardcore guild like that I would only take 1 sentinel and 3 ranged dps for progression runs. I might not even take a Jugg as a tank but I'd definitely take a Vanguard/Powertech. But those kind of guilds are rare, and if you find guilds having to min/max just to do story mode content then....they are having problems that are unrelated to raid composition
  12. I dps as a guardian in my guild. Guardian dps is perfectly viable but the problem is that this game hates melee for raiding. Your disadvantage will not be that you are a Jugg but, rather, that you are a melee. In EV and KP I can't think of 1 encounter where melee is useful, save sentinel damage boost. In Denova, the new raid, you will want 2 melee for the 2nd boss to take the double destruction beams but thats it. Having said that, I generally dislike playing as ranged so I'm sticking to my Guardian dps. As long as you are a good player who can follow tactics and not stand in glowing circles in the ground, I would take player over class any day. And class composition is only an issue in progression raids like Denova HM: the rest is cake
  13. My apologies then. I normally am a dps but I respec tank when we have a need and it felt pretty simple to me...but, as you said, that was story mode, and I can completely believe that HM Denova really sucks. Especially now that I've remembered how hard Warlord Kephess hurts and thats just on story mode.....
  14. First off, if you are talking about the 2nd boss in Denova then some of the suggestions here are moot. Taunt is always used first because of the tank swaps that occur.....so its perfectly fine to taunt.] Leaping a melee is abit dangerous: u have to make sure that he has just fired his attack so u can leap and then bring the turret facing away otherwise the melee get hit... if they have the debuff then I imagine they will be 1shotted. This is only my experience in normal mode though: I have no idea if HM is different. However, the only time I have trouble with threat is at the start of the fight. Normally its not an issue. Then again, we normally have a sage on Stormcaller side who can pull the dps during the shield phase to reduce agro so maybe that helps too!
  15. At first you asked for help; we replied. Different people, with different thoughts, tried to help, and yet your posts tended to repeat themselves, namely, by repeating what you dislike about this game, how it compares to SWG and what you liked about SWG. This is not SWG, and I am sorry if you expected this game to be SWG 2.0: it is not. You say this game is a WoW-clone; compared to SWG, what little I know about it, I would tend to agree. Re-reading your comments, I have to say that you are indeed doing something wrong and the problem does not lie with your gearing. In order to progress in the endgame of SWTOR, PVE and PVP, you have no option but to change the way you play. The game and the playstyle may very well not appeal to you, in which case by all means cancel your subscription: it is hardly worthwhile to play a game that isn't fun for you. If the life achievements you have listed are indeed accurate, I, for one, congratulate you on your success. However this is not information we asked for, nor is it pertinent to the discussion at hand. We, the people posting in this thread, for the most part, cared only about you as a gamer and the problems you were having with this game: your real life situation was, and still is, irrelavant to us. We never said your life had no meaning, and your dramatics are a great disservice to yourself. As someone who has experienced as much as you claim to have in life, I, personally, would have expected better self-restraint. After all, I'm sure 5 kids can be a million times more annoying than a bunch of posters on this forum. And, for the record, its not a bad thing to take a little pride in being good at something, whether it is at football, cooking spaghetti, or even in a game.
  16. You originally posted because you were frustrated at not being able to do the Ilum pre-quests for the dailys and asked for help. We have asked you for information on your gear and your general rotation/what you are doing to the mobs. So far, you have answered the former but not the latter. Your gear, quite frankly, is way over and above and beyond what is required to kill normal mobs. You can be in full greens and still kill those Ilum mobs so long as you have a companion who is also, at least, similarly geared. The only conclusion I can draw is that there is a terrible problem with your rotation, which you have so far not provided any information on. I have never played SWG and have no idea how the combat there works, but in SWTOR the combat works like this: Use ur companion and keep him well-geared. Do not let him die. Kill weak/standard mobs first: they are the ones with no silver or gold around their portrait. They die fast. Use interrupts. Always. WIthout exception. You have Force Kick, which is off the gcd, and hilt strike stun, and force stasis, force push, and awe. Please use them Use a proper rotation. Use Riposte on cd all the time it is up. Your rotation should go something like: Sundering Strike --- Filler - Filler - Sundering Strike -- Filler -- Filler -- Sundering Strike -- Filler -- Filler where Filler = Strike if you need focus; otherwise, Guardian Strike/Overhead Slash, Blade Storm, Force Sweep, Slash, or any other ability that uses Focus. I also recommend you spec 31 points into Defence. I havent played around with the 17/24 spec in a while but I preferred the 31 defence spec.
  17. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is: are you talking about the quest series on Ilum that unlocks the dailys, or are you talking about the Heroic 2+ Darkness on Ilum daily quest? If it is the former, then I have no idea how you could possibly be dieing to weak/standard mobs, with the occasional silvers or golds. If it is the latter, then I can kind of understand why you are dieing since you have to fight 2 silvers and a gold at once, and they often cast aoe damage or healing spells that make it hard to outlast them: just prioritize using cc (Awe, Hilt Strike, Stasis) to kill any healer mobs and use ur interrupt on anyone casting. Also, its not entirely clear if you're using a shield generator: use it. Your offhand should always have a shield generator on it if you are defence specced (ie. if you hover ur mouse over ur offhand it should say "shield chance: 20%) . EDIT: After rereading ur post and seeing that you specifically said you were doing the prequel Ilum quests, and therefore are fighting weak/normal mobs with the odd silver and gold mob, and after seeing you list up your stats that include shield chance and absorption (showing that you do have a shield generator equipped), I can only conclude, sadly, and with disbelief, that either you have some horrible bug, or you are a terrible player..... What abilities are u using when fighting? Are you using abilities that spend focus (your resource) or are you just spamming strike over and over again? Are you focusing on 1 target until its dead, or are you hitting them all at once? Are you fighting the correct mobs ie. weak/normals with the odd silver and gold, or are they packs of only golds/silvers? I can safely say it is not a gear issue. I was a DPS specced guardian who newly dinged 50, with blues and greens, and I was able to do Ilum perfectly fine with Doc, though some parts were abit hard because, well, my gear and Doc's gear was just plain awful...
  18. Tyvm for the advice so far. I'll just have to spend a lot of time finding the best mods to rip out and optimize my gear :/
  19. Thanks for the advice so far. Will just power on ahead and try to optimize my gear.
  20. Posted this originally in the Guardian forum but hoping for some insight so I'll post here too. Title says it all. All the dps gear has accuracy/power enhancements, which are utterly useless since I'm already about 2% over cap even while switching out those enhancements for crit/surge columi ones, and cannot find any power/crit ones in game atm....anyone got any advice? Or should I keep stacking crit/surge enhancements from columi gear and just hit diminishing returns.... For the record, I have approximately 102% accuracy, 400 power, 26% crit, 74% surge.

  22. Why stop using force scream? It does more damage when it crits, which is most of the time, compared to a non-crit Impale and uses the same amount of rage. And if its a question of the buff uptime, since im using Shatter everytime its off cd then that shouldnt be a problem? Or am I missing something :/
  23. Oh my rotation is fine for hte most part. I meant what the rotation becomes when the boss is below 30% because then when I start using Dispatch my focus goes crazy low and im not sure what to do
  24. Posted this on the jugg forums too but thought I would do so here as well: Basically, what is the rotation when this occurs? I know I prioritie Plasma Brand and Dispatch, but then I have no rage for any other abilities (or if I do then after using them I won't have enough rage to use Plasma---> Dispatch right after). Should I use Master Strike as well, or just stick to using the basic attack ie. Sunder --- Plasma--- Dispatch ---- Sunder --- strike ---- strike --- Sunder --- Plasma--- Dispatch--- etc Using this, there will probably be moments when i can squeeze in a blade storm or a master strike: is this what I should do? Its just the idea of using strike is very alien to me (I rarely use it at all except in the odd gap in the rotation).

I know I prioritie SHatter and Vicious Throw, but then I have no rage for any other abilities (or if I do then after using them I won't have enough rage to use Shatter ---> Vicious throw right after).
