  1. THIS is how a Massive Multiplayer ORPG is suposed to run in crowds - THIS is how not to do it - GOOD GAME HERO ENGINE LOLOLOL - i'll be back when this game is free to play.
  2. all I read was "Please please PLEASE pay for at least a couple more months before this game goes free to play.. we could really use the money.. and hey; we have cutscenes!"
  3. At this point panda's are looking pretty *********** awsome. Especially if i can cast spells when i want to.
  4. This is the exact reason i've unsubbed and today will be my last day of play time. The game runs GREAT in pve, and on any planet, but the moment you get in a situation where there's multiple PLAYERS (warzones, illium) performance drops like i've never EVER seen in a game before. The culprit is, as many speculate, the hero engine that swtor is using; An INSTANCED based gaming engine converted to an MMO engine. It's too bad I really really really wanted to like this game.....
  5. I was just in a WZ where I hit an instant ability then clicked unload, which is a channeled ability and this is what happened; Unload cast bar poped up and started counting down, but I noticed my character didn't make the animation.. looked down and saw the ability didn't go on cooldown, and the person i was shooting at didn't take damage. Clicked unload again and there was no cast bar this time, the character made the animation to do unload, but the person i was shooting at took no damage.. looked down and the ability STILL didn't go on cooldown. Clicked unload a THIRD time, there was no cast bar, character did NOT make the animation (lazor beams where coming out of my chest because my arms returned to my characters side at this point), but the enemy player took damage and the ability went on cooldown. DONE WITH THIS GAME....
  6. EQ was, for all intents and purposes, a second life and probably had something to do with the reason it PEAKED at 600k subscribers and hovered around the 200k mark most of the time. Most people have to get up at 5-7am, go to work, hang out with friends, give time and attention to kids and family, and take care of their investments (home, car, ect). MOST people don't have time to come home run around in an endless world with a stupid *** slow mount, or no mount at all, have no fast travel, compete with 3 other MONSTER guilds for bosses that take 6 hours to kill, and worry about LOSING levels if they die; and in some cases losing their gear. MMORPGs are WAY WAY WAY WAY (hope i'm getting the point across) WAY WAY better now then they where in the EQ days. The goal of ENTERTAINMENT, of any kind, is to have FUN with your free time. You simply cannot do that in a game like EQ was; heck the crafting in EQ took 100 times longer to level then leveling does in mmorpgs these days.... EQ was bad, it was a terrible game, with terrible game mechanics and there are only a FEW people, like yourself, who think otherwise. ...and if you still don't think so then what is your explination for even the worst of MMOs having a higher subscriber base then EQ did at it's PEAK? Also; the point should be drivin even futher home with EQ2; SOE was so stupid they thought their origonal model would work in a time with WoW around; I know of more than 3 people that had zero experinece with MMOs before Wow try EQ2 and say "screw that nonsence." The MMOs of the EQ days will never ever return and I'd go as far to say that MMOs in the future will be even LESS time consuming. MMOs these days appeal to a far greater audience instead of the tiny niche of people that EQ did.
  7. ^THIS. Well said sir. ...and for all the kids defending Bioware and saying nothing is wrong instead of actually calling bioware on this stuff and getting it fixed... have fun with an empty game in a couple months GUARANTEED When this game goes free to play and is dead in the water in a year or less remember that all you kids turning a blind eye to blatent issues helped contribute to SWTOR's demise.
  8. MOST people arn't having performance issues because most people arn't in areas that cause performance issues...So i guess technically he's right. I can PvE all day long in any instance, level on any planet, and will maintain great FPS on high settings. As soon as i enter a pvp zone, or the imperial fleet performance drops from 100 fps to 10-20 (with shadows), 20-25 (without shadows). It's clear to me that there's something seriously wrong with the way the engine is handeling spells, movement, and other abilites from players in big group settings.
  9. You have a great game otherwise but going from 60-100 FPS ANYWHERE in the galaxy, on any planet, to 10 -15 (20 - 25 with showdows off) in pvp is goddamn painfull. Abilities don't go off when you want them to, the interaction between player vs player is chunky, and awkward, and trying to pull off timmed moves (stuns, grips, charges) in this enviroment is like pulling teeth. Absolutly a great game if you want to pve only, but man; I don't know if it's a game engine issue like the other post in this thread suggests, but good god your player vs player enviroment is just gross. I will be back if you fix it though, great potential; so much so that everytime I play hutt ball I consider not quitting :-) but today was enough, as the "sparks" wear off I just can't turn a blind eye anymore. Love you guys! -peace
