  1. It bugs me they wont show the numbers for this, but it is enough of a shield to notice, and Blade storm is high priority anyway so it will be up every cooldown, more or less. Adds up and really, what else are you gonna take in a full defense build?
  2. I did not say one thing about PvP in my post, Guardian feels fine in pvp. I said Tanking, Solo questing, and dps. Reading is hard I know but you could at least try it.
  3. Another person who thinks they know everything about a class they havn't even gotten to max level yet. Guardian is weak right now compared to other classes. The other tanks do the job better. The other dps do the job better. Practically everyone else, except maybe Sentinels, solo quest better.
  4. Trying to stick it out and hope they patch some changes...I don't mind difficulty, but it isn't fun to feel weak. I swear my companions are stronger than I am sometimes lol
  5. Why do people keep linking that video of the guy killing level 20ish people with pve gear as a level 50 in the pvp set? Oh course he will destroy, that buff doesnt add any expertise at all and that makes a huge difference. It simple doesn't apply.
  6. Not to mention Master Strike takes two globals and roots you in place. Not quite Master enough to learn how to move I suppose.
  7. So I've been 50 for a few days and trying to do Ilum content and I'm just getting stomped. Average pulls i end at 20% or so and have to rest, I die if i accidentally pull anything extra. Still can't kill Lord Loyat. Tried full defense tank spec, full vigilance dps, and the hybrid defense/vigilance tank build stickied on the forums here. Tried Kira and tried Doc, both in decent gear. My question is, is this the way it is going to be? Or is guardian really, truly the useless paperweight forum QQ makes it out to be?
  8. Been trying this spec out questing on Ilum and such, no flashpoints yet cause my server sucks and almost no one is 50 yet to do stuff with. Have trouble getting enough focus to actually keep up with the shorter cooldowns on this stuff without the improved soresu generation and courage cutting things down. Damage is definitely higher, but I'm actually worse at killing elites now without the various stuns full Defense gives you(instant stasis, hilt strike). I like the idea, and I agree that the top of defense is weak and guardian strike in particular is bad, but being forced to leap around is inconvenient, if not fun. I think ill be going back to full defense...or just rolling a Shadow as Guardian in general is just frustrating me.
  9. there was a dev post somewhere about them looking into making these "rp sets" scale with the armor your class can use in some way if i recall, but i wouldnt hold my breath
  10. Just updating/sharing. The puzzle box was unlootable. I was unable to solo the emperor after several attempts. Ended up cheesing the fight by force pushing the old bastard down the stairs over and over till gravity finished him off. I would feel bad, but I don't because that is an insane fight to expect you to solo. Even if T7 has gear, he still dies in short order to the first spawn of clones.
  11. Already hit 50, already rolled an alt because there are almost no 50s to do anything with yet. I am ok with this. It's the price I pay for leveling quickly and I expect it.
  12. Blue on blue, terrible color choice. As to the content of the post, I mostly agree, there is almost nothing different from the release build and the last beta builds except they slapped on orange color on "custom" gear. Which, among other things, just served to render 85% or so of quest rewards into vender crap. The ability delay is my biggest problem. My first 50 is a Jedi Guardian, and it is completely broke than when I dodge or parry, it can cancel attacks. That makes no sense in an MMO and I can not believe they thought it was a good idea/that it made it to release. The Kira bug, the fact that some quests simply do not work, getting trapped in areas because the way out refuses to function, graphical glitches, inconsistent fps on decent hardware, UI that often shows different cast bars for the same ability, but different times, or shows no cast bar at all but the ability is still casting. Or worse, the ability fails to go off due to some animation glitch, but the cast bar still goes as though it went off properly. PvE feels very..untuned. The difference in difficult of same level mobs from one planet to the next, or even one area to the next, is very inconsistent. On that same level is how you feel weak as a character, dependant on a companion at all times outside group content or pvp. PvP is a flat out failure at this point, the unresponsive ability system is only made worse with moving targets, CC will go off but the target keeps running, general lag not related to ping. All that said, I too am giving Bioware a chance to patch. WoW went down a road with cata and now panda whatever that I am not interested in, and I hoped this could fill the gap, but so far I am not impressed. KotoR lite with some multiplayer features.
  13. Just bumping/chiming in with a +1. I have even had Master Strike do this and it will play it's entire animation if you dont notice and stop it. People talking about there being no ability queue and button mashing is a waste are incorrect also, there IS a queue, and it isnt all animation based. They did lock animations so you dont get a lot of wierdness there, but when you hit the button, the damage is dealt just like any other mmo. This is easy enough to see in game. An example is when something is dead, but doesn't fall down and "die" till some animation finishes.
  14. Also, and I know it's not exactly what you want, but you can use orange Trooper armor and just put your JK mods in it..same with smuggler armor if you are a sentinel and happen to not like the robe thing at all.

  16. I'll be honest and say I feel much the same way. Sith assassin felt so much stronger at an even level, both leveling as tank, than i do on my guardian now. I'm level 29 atm and really wondering whether I want to go any further with this, I do not think its balanced that I HAVE to use my 3 minute cooldowns on quest mobs just to survive. While I'm complaining, I'd also say the tanking in this game feels very..unrefined. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the recent trend in WoW of making tanking so easy anyone can do it, but threat seems to be almost random some times. add that with the fact that enemies often have blasters and therefore are impossible to round up without using line of sight and often get in several hits on the healer before i can get my character to them all to try and tag them with something...just very frustrating experience overall so far with this class, and with tanking in general. Also..I know rambling on a bit...the skill trees seem to be poorly designed, so many good defensive talents too deep in vigilance to get without ditching the top half of the defense tree. To top it all off, Kira is bugged and if you make a single wrong choice, which isnt even an obvious wrong choice, it locks you out of every single companion quest and dialogue after that no matter how much you bump up affection. That said, I tell myself its early, they will hopefully start doing balance passes and get some patches out fairly soon after launch, because I want to love this class, charging in, being the typical heavy armor melee ****** role..plus i dig the robes.
  17. One shot with no stims also..hotfixed/nerfed? He did kill kira with his aoe but I was fine to finish the fight by that point.

This is annoying, because I chose the dark side flirt after the fight with her brother. level 29 now and I really don't want to reroll just to fix an obvious bug that has apparently been in game for a long while now. Can bioware at least poke their head in here and say, sorry, working on a fix/not fixing it?
