  1. I have recently been experimenting as a hybrid operative. My win rate has gone up. Whilst I agree with all the balancing and 'fairness' arguments, it simple gets tiresome after a while to play Operative DPS as you get burned down very quickly and easily (similar to the Sage's problems). This leaves my main with 4 options: 1) Reroll. 2) Keep Dying. 3) Roll a hybrid (which is incredibly fun to play and takes a lot of focus). 4)Change to heals (where I will be waiting 40 mins a queue pop over 5)
  2. You cannot compare Operative to Pyro or Marauder or Sin, all those three are PURE DPS classes. The Operative concealment is a hybrid class in its own right (it can heal, it can cleans, it can stun, it has some damage mitigation, it has some damage addition) with huge burst. I am being excluded from some of my guilds RWZ atm because they are in the mindsight more range DPS = better wins, which to an extent in rated where single target DPS is the most imporant thing is true. However our utility to have people jump us in stealth, to drop two 3k heals on the ball carrier, to flashbang 3 enemies harrasing a capture or plant, to work in tandem with another stealther and sleep dart cap an objective, to ANNOY a healer....etc.... we have lots of supplementary roles. I have target enemy on tab and if I am about to die I will drop two corrosive darts, then on shift+E I have target friendly, for which I use toxic scan on to help healers remove tech effects. At the end of a day though in an 8 man you just need Pure Heal, Pure Tank and Pure DPS in 2,2,4. The top PvP guilds will be the guilds with the fastest ranged DPS. 2 operatives on any target are awesome atm, myself and a friend do this to great effect bursting pretty much any class down in a maximum of 4 global cooldowns. This ability to take targets down quickly may make us more viable once a couple of teams are brave enough to let two OP DPS in,
  3. Too anyone complaining about "us whiners". I am a paying customer, I pay Bioware to play their game. The server I am playing on is the 3rd least populous server on the EU list. I have held out on the promise that they would introduce server transfers, the time is taking too long so I complain. You think I give them my money each month for the fat cats on fat man to have a good time? 'Nuff said.

  5. All the top Operative PvPers play the class incredibly well. They also know that if you gave them a tank/sin or marauder they could play hell of a lot better, the class does feel very constricting and you will dsicover this. When discussing class balance you cannot simply say "I play this class well therefore it is fine", you have to take a metric across the entire class population. I have no evidence to back it up, but I would argue the reason Operatives have been nerfed is becaus the people who have high level operatives are those who have stuck by their class and are exceptionally good at PvP.
  6. Guardian + Saw Bones Perfect combo, the team you are will will provide the DPS you provide the core of the team, defend a node, score with the ball ...etc...
  7. Don't post stupid crap like this, maybe Joe should get an XP buff when he returns as the other players on the server got to play longer. These transfers are not 'compuslory' for us players who have 6 people on the fleet it is our last chance to enjoy the game. The charcater name should go to whoever has the highest legacy which is a good metric of gametime played. Just because you were 'on the server first' does not give you more right to a specific name. This is a RPG we role play our characters, we enjoy doing so and a name is a huge part of it.

  10. I am confuseda bout the Relics. Does this mean rather than popping for +355 Power for 15 seconds I get say +35 power for the whole time when in a Wz? Also pissed about biochem, that adrenal is the only think which let Operatives kill people.
  11. This is what our guild did for PvP. Because there were no warzones left. Now there are no guildies left and it is just my Operative punching himself in the face in said pit.
  12. Where are you getting 12 from? Lacerate has a 50% chance to apply collateral, this effect can not occur more than once every 10 seconds, 10*2 = 20 seconds which isn't a multiple of 3 (GCD) so its slightly longer (24 seconds) roughly how often your TA will proc from this skill, this talent is only good for getting in an extra lacerate in your opener, something I do not need with my current rotation to kill people. 2 Points for an extra TA every 24 seconds? I find I do just as well without the 2 points in this tree, I don't actually put them in Shiv I put them in 4% less damage, debatable about whether it is useful.
  13. Tactical Opportunity is a waste of 2 points. 1 TA every 20 seconds. Much better to put those 2 somewhere else, 8% Shiv for example gives better DPS than Tactical Opportunity, shiv is your bread and butter.
  14. Mine keybinds are all very odd and very inefficient, they progress as I play. Acid Blade is on key '5' which works well. Hidden Strike is on Shift+Mouse4

  16. What happens more is when you are an operative it shows you behind them, (even on the 4 second debilitate) when in actual fact you are not. Happens once a warzone.
  17. Niman here - 25 on Imperial Fleet. Log on to Tomb of Freedon Nadd 120 in Civil War alone. I PvP against the same people every single night. All my guild are considering re rolling, if our guild were to re roll it would kill the PvP on the server as we are now one of 3 guilds left PvPing. Server merges should be top priority. We have no economy on our server, we have little PvP on our server. 16 mans have all but stopped. We have no republic on our server. The economy is the main thing, want to build your War Hero Augmented? Have fun spending the next 2 days running missions for Zal Alloy. Give us inter-server Warzones, but more importantly make the Galactic Trade Market CROSS SERVER! It is stupid to have tiny little economies ruining the experience for us players to stupidt ore roll on a new server. Bioware I am paying you for the service you provide, I have the power to stop paying which hinders you financially. If you wish to retain my subscription then release server merges/transfers within the next 28 days.

    Buff Operatives

    Incorrect by a mile, I think class balance in this game is excellent. They have the best burst DPS which coupled with stealth make the excellent defenders. I am one of the chief goal scorers in my guild, why? Stealth and survivability. Novare Coast - Civil War - Voidstar Excellent diagonal capper. - Excellent defender - 12s Orbital strike is the best objective denial in the game. Ability to annoy and draw people away from objectives. Yes Assasins being the other stealth class can do stealthy like things, but they don't have the fear of god our burst puts into people, and they don't have the ability to stealth out and heal up far faster than 'recuperation'. Yes because I am always going to be in 8 v 1 situations. 2.5k heal everytime I escape LoS, 2.5k heal everytime they are rooted, 3 2.5k heals when they are flashbanged, this is how I can lure and entice people away. Shield Probe, Evasion. If you time all your skills correctly it is very hard to DPS down an operative. Learn where to stand on the platforms, if you stand to the side you deserve to be knocked off, stand lengthways and the only push you further away - shield probe - crouch - explosive probe - corrosive dart - grenade, stay in stealth and debilitate/root them in fire. Not exactly the same, they don't have the same shock and awe burst of operatives, nor do they have heals. The amount of time me snidely healing the ball carrier from high platforms has helped score a goal is very large. Assasins are much faster paced, but are easily counterable if you know how. The same as any class. The people why people think they are strong is because the continue attacking during their defensive cooldowns. When I see an Assasin/Marauder pop their tech defenses I stop attacking, start rooting and healing.

    I am an operative, I can flashbang a target and get off 2 kolto injections and 1 infusion. I am 5/32/4 spec. If I crit both kolto injections I can heal 10k in the space of 5 seconds, there is my survivability,. Gap closer? Please we open up ontop of the target and it is up to them to escape, if you let them get far enough away to moan about needing a gap closer, you are playing operative wrong. +9% healing received, this is the most useful talent in the operative tree for PvP that is pretty much +10% on every heal that comes your way. Operatives utility lies within its heals, I can escape from combat heal up and head back into combat with 2 TAs and Stim+Revitalisers already ticking, you just need to get off your "-15s debilitate bandwagon", it is really not worth it. Removing that spec makes you realise how important flashbang and sever tendon are. I can lend a heal to the ball carrier, I can interrupt 3 guys beating on one with a flash bang, heal that guy, drop Adrenaline probe and start hitting with my backstab. Also look at sleep? It no longer fills resolve to full! How *********** awesome is that? 2 stealth classes can now fire sleep at a guy guarding an objective, start capping, he breaks, other stealth sleeps him again. 8 second out of combat? A concealement operative played well is by default one of the best hybrid classes I have ever played, I have yet to lose a 1v1 duel. Your job is to go in damage, harrass, annoy and escape any combat situation. Your job is to get the enemy so *********** angry at you that 2-3 of them will start focusing on you, chasing you, negleting the win to kill you. You are the most well rounded class of any class in the game.
  20. This is the best way to maximise Expertise on PvE set. I am still unsure which is better 2 power augments or +15% crit chance to backstab :S
  21. Based on this chart http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/attachment.php?aid=293 Cunning gives about 12% at 2000, which in PvP is unlikely. It is also easily describable as linear due to no sudden DM.
  22. Yes it is an insane grind, about 800 Wzs to get full War Hero mods atm. But once rated is out (if ever) it will be alot easier. Good luck getting Zal Alloy to craft your Orange Augmented gear also, especially on low populated servers.
  23. Now 1.2 is out and there are no ranked warzones, prices are a little different. Obviously Orange+Aug is best. Cheapest/most useful enhancement is WH Field Tech Boots. Cheapest/most useful mod is then WH Field Medic Boots. Have 2 Enforcer PvE gear for the +15% backstab crit chance, I suggest Tionese/Columni Head/Gloves (Just for aesthetics) with Field Tech/Medic Boot mods within them. [The ultimate Best in Slot would be to have Campaign Armour mods x 2 within orange Augment gear, but this is difficult for PvPers, you will lose expertise from this] All the barrels are the same for the weapon, so pick whichever weapon has the most appropriate mods. Buy the boots until your surge/crit is satisfactory (everyone says 35% (inc agent buff) crit and 75% surge, no clue where these parses come from. DM for Crit is roughly 25%, Crit% from cunning is linear but adds little up to around +10% crit for 2000 cunning), 5% Base + 25% Crit (1400 crit points, very unlikely) + 8% Cunning +5% buff = 43% realistic cap on crit rating, getting 1400 crit in your gear would be difficult though, everyone just says 35% overal crit chance is ideal). Surge DMs at about 75%, so aim for 75%ish surge. After you have achieved this stack Cunning/Power like no fricken tommorow, don't ignore Endurance though. Regarding Relics? I still have a matrix cube, undecided on whether 2 relics or 1 relic + cube is better. I will say however that you can use a Power and Crit/Surge relic at the same time, this is how Operatives get their best take downs (only really helps your crit rating as you have approached DM for surge around 75%, the cube will only up this to 79%) This is very hashed together.
