  1. There is no one of interest in raiders cove. As soon as I saw the place, it was all I could do to leave.
  2. DELETE THE SENTINAL/MARAUDER CLASS. You obviously hate it enough, so why bother with it. Just delete the class, and keep focusing on your beloved sniper/gunsilgers.
  3. Dear Dev's, With all the nerfs and all of the 'downgrading damage' going on, what possible inducements are there to continue to either pay or even play your game? Have you, as the people responsible, considered the negative feedback you are receiving? Have you looked at just how upset the player base is with the proposed changes to several classes? Have you considered that this could very well spell the end of SWOTOR? I'm just askin', because quite frankly, it looks like you guys have made it a personal mission to really piss the player base off with this update. It looks like you hate just about all of the classes, and just about all of the players. I'm wondering, why are you really doing this?
  4. I don't know if someone has suggested this before, but how about overhauling the groupfinder, listing those people looking for groups, showing groups that are forming, and even groups that are semi-formed and looking for specific things, like a healer, or a tank.
  5. I think the question we should be asking, is whether or not a new type of raiding is viable in the current 'end game environment'. As someone that has done some endgame raiding over the years that I've played this game (none since 55 went live!), pugging a raid came as a shock when going into some of the then 'new content'. That's not to say that I don't want to get there. It's just simply not realistic for me. (This may be due to guild size, lack of trust of 'pugging' and a general lack of etiquette amongst a few of the 'endgame puggers'.) Personally, one solution I would be interested in seeing is an overhaul of the whole 'looking for group' or 'groupfinder' system that this game employes. It would be easier, and preferred to have a list of groups, be it those doing hard mode flash points, raids, or even just level 50 flashpoints, and what they need to actually start the said type of group. It would make getting into, generating and even adding members to larger raid groups, facilitating easier hard mode flash points, and the same system could be added to pvp. (Hmm, perhaps I may have to look at the 'suggestion box' here.)
  6. Because pvp sucks dogs 'biscuits'. No really, it just bites. I don't need to explain my distaste for pvp. I don't need to explain or come up with witty comments about 'how I feel'. I do not feel that player vs. player combat is at all useful to ANY MMO, except as a side of giggle and 'oh my'. It is a joke, and should be treated as a joke.
  7. Why don't you (as the dev's) just delete the Mara/Sent class from the game. Just had a look at the 'utilities'. I've been playing a mara and a sent since the day I got the game and patched in the Australian launch week..... For the first time since then, I'm going to shelve the entire class. The utilities that focus exclusively on Cloak of Pain are just next to useless. It's a skill I've used less than five times in the entire game, and even then only in complete emergencies, like right before an entire raid group wipes. These changes are nothing to be proud of, and all in all, just go to reinforce the image that the developers are nothing more than range-loving pvp monkeys that HATE ALL MELEE!
  8. I'm still wondering if the developers are on crack.
  9. Never believe anything until the proof is beside you.... Oh wait, that's just dumb! If I remember correctly, before the first 'Star Wars, the Old Republic' game was released, the character of Revan began a civil war with the aim of changing the Jedi Order. This could be seen as an attempt to return to that goal, if Revan has recovered his memories.......
  10. I think the words "66 mod level gear" and 'quality' are a lot like "Military Intelligence".... A contradiction in terms. If you do follow the OP's suggestion and head to Oricon last, then cherry pick the enhancements, mods and armoring. I'd suggest that you take the time to research and read about your class, and learn what items you should be looking for....
  11. It's the drop rates that I'm shirty about. . . . . . . They are a colossal pain in the butt. I couldn't have said it better. Really. I do agree with you on sample size though. It's not that I didn't look around and see that other people were doing the quest the 'hard' way, and decide that it wasn't easy enough for me. I put in three hours and got about 6 'data-pad's' from over thirty 'lures'. The success rate and drop rate are way too low, and too random. It's not just this quest, but others like it that tie a quest item to a random drop, or a mob drop that are too low across the board. It's across the entire game....That's the issue I'm struggling with. The whole thing makes me feel like a farmer, and I don't play this game to farm. I play it to have fun, and this quest and others like it are the least fun things in the game. I hope that the dev's don't continue with this penny-ante b.s. idea.
  12. I hate to say it, but the farming of those damned data pads for the new taunton mount is a terrible waste of both time and money. It's not like it's going to get you anywhere any quicker, nor is it going to prevent you from being knocked off. It's a stupid time waster, and not a very fun one. Five or six nests on the planet? Wow Dev team, that's a FANTASTIC idea........Make everyone farm the crap out of the same locations and then ensure that the drop rate of the data-pad is so atrocious that it takes you over three hours (or multiple characters) to even get a quarter of what you need. The respawn rate of the tauntlet's is terrible, and so is the rate at which the are 'tempted' out of the nest. In short: Worst implementation of an idea yet. This mount idea is even worse than the GSI quest, the dread seed armor or the macrobinocular quest. Well done dev team, way to stuff up an idea!
  13. As much as I like the new content (VERY LITTLE!) And as much as the new seeker droid and macro-binoculars are kinda interesting, it's all a time sink, and is really not useful in the long run. Dev's how about you do something useful for a change, and REDUCE the amount of mobs in areas, and increase the drop rate of items keyed to certain mobs, like those pesky quest items that we need for instance? I mean, really, you guys are playing with gadgets and the game itself gets left like this? Dev's, you know about the complaints, you know about the issues, and I realize that some issues just are not cost effective to fix. But toys? Instead of you guys fixing issues?? C'mon guys....
  14. On the whole, yeah the development team has done a reasonable job of it. Some things are not so good though. Section X being one of them.....And the amount of crash-bugs still in the game!
  15. Why bother? Section X needs to be fixed before this guide or blog is of ANY use.
  16. Boy did they miss the mark with Section X. On a whole, the area isn't just tedious and boring ( I spent a whole 45 minutes to an hour TRYING to complete the objectives for ONE quest, let alone the lot of them out there!), but the drop rate of quest items held by mobs make some of the quests is just plain horrible. It's not as if the quests are boring, or hard even. It's just poor design, implimentation and horrible quality control on the behalf of bioware development. I mean, really, why do we need to go beyond the black hole? It's quick, easy and fun. Ilum? Well, Empire side is too 'heroic-centric', requiring two or more players to complete some quests. (Although a decently geard character will be able to solo them!) Belsavis is just as bad. There is simply NO POINT grinding out dailies when there is already other ways to get the same gear or better gear. This isn't to say that the dev's need to add 'Section X' only gear or enhancements or even commendations. That would further ruin the area and isolate their potential. What the development team DOES need to do is admit they made a HUGE mistake with the area and fix it.
  17. They shouldn't. In fact I would go so far as to say that they should re-cast ALL of the parts. It'd be just wierd seeing Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamil, Billy Dee Williams or Harrison Ford reprise thier rolls. Just wierd. Having said that, I would be dissapointed if they didn't offer cameo rolls to the original cast.
  18. Steven Spielberg. Just because everything the man touches, be it as a producer, writer or director, turns to gold!
  19. You, sir, have no idea of what you are talking about. Sentinals got 'buffed' in 1.2, not the knight class in general. Guardian's took a hammering in 1.2, and deservedly so. Some people were abusing the talent tree features of the game. Now, as a player, I can agree with doing that. After all, who doesn't want to see what they can do with a given class? But, the extent of the 'roll-back' of guardian abilities, and the hammering they took, it's almost possible that they have been hammered into oblivion. Right now, as it stands, there is no point trying to play a Guardian as anything other than a single player 'toy'/ 'novelty' class. They are in no way fit for raiding, H/M's, PVP, or any other type of group operation. Not whilst there are Vanguard Tanks that will do a better job of holding aggro, have a better base Endurance and do a better job of dealing damage. Let's face it. Jedi Guardian is a dead class come 1.3, when people can and will advertise that they are looking for Vanguard or shadow tanks only.
  20. Okay, as the thread title says: Have Jedi Knight Guardians been shafted? Is there a plan or a timetable to fix the imbalance issues that affect them? Or: Are we going to see that Sentinals remain superior to them in DPS? Let's face it, most times in game the only reason peeps want a Guardian is to tank something. Even then, there is no point taking a guardian tank, especially if a Vanguard is available. Now, the real concern is: With the upcomming release of 1.3, and the proposed 'lfg panel', will this further alienate Jedi Guardians as a class, will this feature finally kill the only class in the game republic arsenal that really has no use?
  21. To be blunt about it, there is no point trying to play a DPS guardian. Re-spec and learn to play a tank.
  22. No. You will not be able to out-dps a sentinal.
