  1. I waited on the announcment of the game on the day it was announced and registered within the first few minutes of the website being live. Had been following news about the secret Bioware-Lucasarts rumoured Star Wars MMORPG since early 2008 if memory servers right, and man was I happy to see it was actually set in the Kotor era. After that, I followed the updates religiously. Signed up for beta when it was allowed, but didn't get into beta until the last two months of it (the full beta, also got in on the beta weekends). Pre-ordered the CE in July of 2011, and got in on the last wave of the first day of early access. So yeah. Been here for most of the game's history.
  2. Finally, we know the director! I think it's a good team to start with. Now for the two year long wait to see it come to life. What are you talking about? I know a lot of people who like it, myself included. We all have similar objections to parts of it; too much slapstick being one. We who like the prequels just don't have a reason to be as loud as those who hate it, because if you like something -- why would you have to yell it from the rooftops?
  3. I'm a CE purchaser who pre-ordered in July of 2011. I think it should be made available to everyone as adaptive armour. Guess I'm the only one. Make the red variant a CE exclusive and turn the black one into a cartel item. Refund the CE users with the black one (like they are already doing with other stuff) and everyone wins.
  4. I'm a male who played a female Bounty Hunter and had a romance with Torian. I didn't find it disturbing.... it was fun. It's an RPG -- a role playing game! I was playing the role of the female hunter who fell in love with a man. Regular thing, right? Girl falls in love? I pursued a relationship with Mako on my male hunter. Same thing. I'm not involved with Mako IRL.
  5. You misunderstand me here. I said in the Expanded Universe. The first book was released in 1991 and the EU grew from there. There were at least two other novels before that (Splinter is one), and the Marvel comic series but the EU formed after the Thrawn Trilogy and the Dark Empire comics.
  6. Well... because... I'm not the biggest fan of fantasy in general, except for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. I'm a life-long Star Wars fan. I love the story. I'm a roleplayer. It's fun and I have friends playing.
  7. New modifiable gear acquired through quest rewards that doesn't look ridiculous.
  8. I would start with Timothy Zhan's Thrawn trilogy. They have been collected into a single collection (Heir to the Empire: The 20th Anniversary Edition), but the first novel is Heir to the Empire, the second Dark Force Rising and the third The Last Command. These take place after Return of the Jedi and were among the first Expanded Universe works.
  9. The Mandalorian Crusaders of 7000 BBY up until 3,963-ish (until the Neo-Crusaders had converted the majority to their cause) all had personalized armour to the point on no two suits looking the same externally or internally. The Crusaders are the pure representation of the culture, so that means any Mandalorian who wishes to follow tradition faithfully would customise his or her gear. In traditional culture there is no rank except for the Mandalore and clan chieftains, who both rise to their positions by proving themselves worthy of it and can lose it at any time if another proves to be stronger. So there are no uniforms either in traditional Mandalorian culture. In TOR, we see the majority of NPCs using uniformal blue, but that could simply be preference since we also see a lot of Mandalorians in armour of their own choosing. Perhaps the blue is a remnant of the Mandalorian Wars? Reminds them of a grander age? Or perhaps it's just in fashion. Shae Vizsla, Torian Cadera, Solus Bralor, Jogo the Carver, Mavrix Varad (and Clan Varad in general), Hondar Soongh, Tarro Blood and a whole lot more Mandos are using a more personalised look rather than the blue.
  10. I guess it refers to the species of Mortis, the ancients (Celestians?) And "In the time of dispair, a chosen one will be born who will destroy the Sith..." No ideas after.
  11. I don't agree or disagree with the inclusion of SGR in this game right now (proponant of LGBT rights in real life, though), but I disagree with the notion that including them takes away from other areas of development. There are multiple teams in this game and each handles different areas of development. Programmers aren't going to be hired to write, and artists aren't going to be hired to write code. The team focused on flashpoints won't have anything to do with the space stuff. Bug fixing should be a priority, and as far as I can see they are doing that. But you can't put a writer working on SGR on the bug fixing team. (S)he won't know what to do.
  12. Many definitions of the word "strong"... If by the force, then I'd say Miraluka and Sith are pretty well tied. Physically, I'd have to go with Rattataki. They are of a warrior culture and have evolved in combat much like Sith and Miraluka evolved with the force. Zabraks would be high up there as well. For NPC species... Gen'dai is hands down the most powerful species. If you can't be killed with a blaster cannon or being buried for centuries, what hope has your opponent?
  13. I'm of the school of thought that Mandalorians would rather re-appropriate existing words for new things than borrowing from other languages. Most words you find that refer to something not of the culture originally are words that describe the concept, such as Bes'uliik for the Basilisk War Droid. Jetii is obviously not of their language, but I find that most other concepts are. I think the Mandos would refer to the cusaders as simply verde, or warriors. But then come the Neos and they'd have to find a way to describe this new subculture to each other in their language. I think combining the concept of manda, the oversoul in their religious views, with the word verd describes best what a Mandalorian Crusader is, since the word crusader is a term used for religious warriors. Manda'verd(e) - Warrior(s) of the manda: Crusader(s) Evaar'la Manda'verd(e) - the new warrior(s) of the manda: Neo-Crusader(s).
  14. My mercenary has the Taris reward chest piece attached and it comes out of his boots. The jetpack is of the same model as the Ciridum armour. Yes -- please fix this!
  15. Let's encourage them to introduce the margarena.
  16. Oh please no. I'm extremely sick of this dance/song being featured everywhere I look. I'd like my gaming experience free of seeing people galloping in the fleet.
  17. More RP support. Sittable chairs, more emotes with animations, chat bubbles etc.
  18. Or offer an AC respec if added. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a Mandalorian class complete with a storyline. Maybe even a class available for both factions; we know there are Mandalorians who oppose Mandalore, after all.
  19. I'm a total Mandohead and would love to be able to play a Taung, but canonically it's kind of hard to bring them back without an elaborate explanation of how they are still around. They pretty much drove themselves to extinction, and if not for the fact that they invited other species to join their culture the Mandalorians as a whole would have been gone from the galaxy long before the game. And they have a canon appearance, seen here. As for a Mandalorian class... I'd rather see new ACs pop up. Mandalorian warrior could be a new bounty hunter AC, complete with blaster rifles and cannons. Not that it's ever going to happen, but it's the only way I'd see it happening.
  20. I'm a CE owner and I'd like to see the Imperial trooper armour made available to everyone as well. As a roleplayer, I'd like to see Imperial military guilds pop up wearing proper armour, and with the restriction that isn't possible. Replace the CE armour with a red version of the armour and place the black one into the Cartel Market. That way, the CE owners still have an armour set that is unique while allowing everone to benefit from the awesome look of it.
  21. I support this. I love the crimson armour. While at it, it would be great to have these as adaptive armour sets wearable by all classes like the sets currently in the store. Allow Republic Mandalorian fans to wear the armour as well. After all, the Sith Inquisitor (Investigator's) set in the store right now can be worn by Jedi Consulars. Recognisability is a non-issue.
  22. Actually, Mandalore the Indomitable said "you fight with antiques" to Ulic Qel-Droma. We know that the Mandalorians steal technology, improve upon them and use them for their ships, weapons and droids. Kun had Supremacy-class attack ships as the primary capitol ships in his fleet that are 550 metres in length, while the Mandos have the Kyramud-type battleship at 752 metres and Kandosii-type dreadnaught at 1360 metres as their primary capitol ships. The Kandosii is also packed with nuclear missles. I'd say the Mandos have larger ships with more firepower, not more ships. But the Krath have one very deadly weapon going for them that the Mandalorians don't have. They are willing to kamikaze their starfighters into enemy craft.
  23. I'd like to see several "themes" pop up in the store, all adaptive armour wearable by all classes on both sides. And I'd really like it if these were sold as individual pieces/sets ranging from 150-1200 CC. An all new, "Legacy of Kotor" set of armours is something I'm big on. This could include for example Atton Rand's jacket, Calo Nord's suit, Republic trooper suits (the one on the far left and the officer uniforms), Sith trooper armour (both silver and red variations), Carth Onasi's suit, Mandalorian Neo-Crusader armour (blue, red and gold), Visas Marr's dress, Jedi robes (from both games) and Canderous Ordo's vest. I think in combination with other parts of armour found in the game, these would definitely increase diversity of looks players can achieve in the game. I don't want them to go into the eras after the game and bring back stuff from the future, but going back in the past would at least be partly plausible. We have the mask of Nihilus already, so why not more of them? Other than that, I would like it if we got Imperial trooper armours (both the heavy one and the "scout" variants) and the NPC Mandalorian armours available from the store. These are already in the game so I don't see why they wouldn't.
