  1. Starting it from ship's console worked, but I'm curious to see what happens to the open KOTET chapters. Because I've got a new sorc that I intend to play through all of the stories again, but need him for ops.
  2. It's a 65 token char (on chapter 1 of KOTET (or 17 if you count both)), who was already leveled to 70.
  3. I've done the story, i'm not worried about spoilers myself, but yeh... I agree. Personally I'm more concerned about having to play through the last expansions if this don't work properly. I've got way too many toons for that and I find the expansions extremely tedious beyond the first couple of playthroughs.
  4. Question is, will any of this cause my character to skip all story or can I still go back to do it later? I guess I can go an find out on one of my toons. Will report back later.
  5. You're a smarty pants. You shouldn't make assumptions so quickly. I've been playing since Launch.
  6. It's a token character. he's already on that mission. Doh!
  7. Could anyone please confirm these issues?! Quick Travel does NOT work in space ports as mentioned in patch notes (Fleet-pass and Stronghold travel included) Iokath is not available to characters that did not complete KOTET, or at least not have been to Iokath before. (requirements stated that the only requirement was to be level 70... but a token character, leveled to 70 and currently at chapter-1 kotet, CANNOT travel to Iokath without a summon. Characters that didn't start any of the expansions also clearly can't travel to Iokath.) On my token Mercenary of level 70 who already learned all skills, starting KOTET chapter-1 gets "Responsive Safeguards" unlearned and has to learn it from trainer again. (NOTE: this is without accepting the tutorial.) On that same Mercenary, upon starting KOTET chapter-1, ALL utilities were reset. (NOTE: this is without accepting the tutorial.) This same Mercenary, now at chapter-2, cannot queue for Uprisings or Operations from Galactic Command System. (chapter-2 is considered an active phase, with no option to reset phase?) <<< this seems to reset after a while. it works now. Personal note: I DO NOT appreciate being forced to play KOTET and/or KOTFE. I have way too many characters for that and locking me out of Iokath and a means of getting to the new ops without a summon is ludicrous.

  9. Well... you see the point then. In context: The new system will potentially kill the game. How is that any different?
  10. You make a very well reasoned point... BUT... you forget that you can get your 20k-25k comms during leveling, so... before you hit max level (ie. endgame pvp). With the command system, nobody will be able to level with pvp and save up comms for max level anymore. Everybody has to essentially start from scratch at max level. So... once you enter pvp at max level, most people will be in completely different rating gear. I personally don't trust bolster to handle things right. More importantly... Having sets of pvp-gear with expertise, in my opinion gave people a goal. Something to work for. Something to achieve. Essentially, it feels like a reward in the end. Rewarding people for their effort in what content they like to play is being stripped from the game completely. No more true rewards for doing something specific. This is the worst way to slap people in the face. Perhaps EA should stop paying salaries and just hand out random boxes of food and gift-certificates. Let's see how long that lasts.
  11. There's only one problem with HM FPs that can be resolved for the most part with one change in the game. Bolster doesn't work well enough to allow level 50s to queue up and beat them. If it was truly intended for HM FPs to work for level 50s, then the Bolster should be able to deal with the worst case scenario: 4x level 50, with sub-148 gear. On top of that... people should get familiar with FPs first, queuing up for HM FPs is just plain stupid. Players new to the game shouldn't queue for them and BW shouldn't allow them to queue until at least max level.
  12. I'm aware of the new options to summon legacy cargo in the field, but I think they are ludicrously expensive, considering that you'd have to unlock it on every character. If it were an account-wide unlock, I'd be fine with it, but I'm not going to spent millions on every character. Also, I would find the legacy inventory tab way more convenient. I doubt BW will even see this, much less consider it, but I thought it's at least worth a shot posting the suggestion.
  13. Why are people so insistent on this: It doesn't hurt you, so why should you care? You people sound like you're paid by BioWare. Worse, you make it sound like HM/NiM players are out to get you, when we're simply trying to defend the little corner of the game that we still have. We like to work hard to achieve something. Otherwise that achievement was meaningless. Sometimes you should have to work for something in order to say: I achieved this! Not get everything handed to you. And just because something doesn't hurt somebody else, doesn't mean it the right thing to do. The changes will very negatively affect people that do HM/NiM Operations. Are you saying those people are less entitled to an opinion? Do only casual and solo-players now have rights? A big part of progression is the gearing process. Helping team-mates get geared, learn mechanics, practice rotations... put effort into it. In other words, work for it and achieve something. It doesn't hurt anybody to not get gear they don't need either. There is no content that requires HM/NiM gear, except the hardest content in the game. If a player is too casual to do this content, then why would he/she need the gear? No casual player that can't beat current solo-content will suddenly be able to beat content just because he/she gets NiM gear. So many people want to get carried through content these days... nobody wants to work for anything anymore. Isn't the game easy enough as it is? Does the casual audience also have to destroy what little progression we have left? Who's the cruel one here?!
  14. Funny how everyone that likes stuff easy and free without work and effort put into it, calls somebody that's actually willing to work for stuff "elitist". I'm guessing you call people with jobs, Elitists too?!
  15. That's odd... I'm playing group content, with other people... therefore it can't be dead. Perhaps you got it backwards and you are the one that doesn't quite understand.
  16. Basically dead != dead... There are a few still around. Why ruin it for them?! Are you truly that selfish?
  17. Just like in real life, people have limitations. I'm sorry to say this, but if you can't beat TEC by now, you have to work on playing mechanics and/or rotations. I've done TEC till 10th boss on a 192 geared marauder. There's nothing truly difficult about it. NiM gear is not likely to solve the issue here. I totally understand that people may find certain content hard that others don't, but in 99.9% of those cases, working on learning mechanics and upping your game, reading up on you class, will solve the problem. Not getting higher rating gear. People seem to think that if you have NiM gear, you're guaranteed to do 7k dps and kill anything, but guess what... if a NiM geared player stands in stupid, he will still die. It just doesn't work that way. NiM gear doesn't make you magically kill everything. Progression players had to get good with their class before even getting that NiM gear, or else they wouldn't get it. In turn, for each piece obtained, the dps-requirements in NiM ops are slightly easier matched and runs will start going smoother. But once again... I'm not against people getting stuff... I'm upset because this screws very much so with the way progression teams work. On the other hand, I do believe however that people should earn top-tier gear. Not get it handed to them. Which seems to be the biggest issue with the majority of the current player-base. Everybody feels so entitled and expect things fast and easy that they forget about people who are actually still serious about the smallest aspect of the game. Can't we have our little corner? Casuals have the entire rest of the game.
  18. OK, let's try it another way.... Team members are not accepted at random. A player needs to meet some requirements. It's the same for progression-teams. Getting them gear can be a team-effort, but it still doesn't mean that it's everybody's cup of cake. Now why would somebody not joining the team and putting in the effort get the gear? They don't need it. People keep defending this new system, in part I suspect because they're part of that casual/solo-player demographic, if not, progression isn't a thing for them... Most keep saying that I don't understand that others also "want things". But I believe it's that demographic not understanding that they don't "need it" and that perhaps, the few still doing progression don't want it even more broken?! This is not about me not wanting people to get the gear. I'd be happy to see if more people do ops again, but I don't see why a working system has to be completely destroyed in favor of people not doing that content. I've already suggested that command crates can drop everything but set-piece gear, but leave the set-piece gear as drops from Ops. This way all issues would be solved. Casual players can still get all the best gear (non set-piece) and progression team don't get hung up with RNG and without the option to help a new member to get geared through a team-effort. What's so bad about that? You can't tell me that hurting progression players is in the best interest of casual players.
  19. Funny... coz even for Highschool/collage football the gear is provided by the team. Not freely given away for doing the dishes.
  20. I don't judge by gear, but this whole thing will make an existing occurrence worse: The thing is... I don't think more people in better gear will make the game better. People already don't know how to play their classes anymore because the game is too easy. I've encountered a lvl 65s in 220gear doing (let's say) DP HM who didn't even know about an interrupt, or even have it on the quickbar. Increasingly often you see players with no stance/cylinder or wrong cylinder active. Defensive cool-downs? What are those? C'mon. Giving people better gear is only gonna make things worse. They'll feel more powerful during all the trivial content and will want to do the content that actually has mechanics, but won't cut it. It will cause grief over grief. Only a very very small percentage of players will then try to learn, but in the process others get frustrated by the lack of progress and potentially quit. So... I believe Operations gear should be earned, not handed out freely, just because. Yes!
  21. I don't quite see the point of your statements here, other than trying to degrade me and making yourself seem superior. I don't have the best gear, and I won't ever say I'm the best player PvP or PvE or otherwise, but at least I don't whine when I have to work for something... I even prefer that. What's the point of getting everything for doing nothing? That's what it's really about. The casual audience gets enough thrown their way. Why not let progression be progression? Is that really so unfair?
  22. Very simple... I'll (for instance) be looking to fill a spot on a team. People without experience in Operations will be walking around in gear they don't need and think: OH... I got gear... I can do it. It doesn't work that way. The game is already too easy. People don't even know how to play their class half the time. Now I'll be entering that progression op, lock myself and others, while wasting people's time, just because a casual player with "gear he/she don't need" decided he has "skill". Don't the casual audience get enough thrown their way? Wouldn't it be fair to let progression be progression?
  23. I'll be honest with you... I've had some seriously bad experiences with pugs and SM recently, showing me the state of how players are these days. People whine and ***** about wiping, but as soon as you try to explain the simple mechanics of a SM boss/fight, people panic and leave. If you point out to somebody that he should do something differently to improve his team play, they take personal offense and rage-quit. Frankly, I won't want those people walking around in NiM gear, all proud, proclaiming their skills... which people also do (famous quote: "it's not about gear, it's about skill"... says the 148 dps geared tank, after entering a HM FP) and then ruining it for those that are truly serious about progression. I don't want to get myself locked and waste everyone's time, because I need to test a new player's skill during the actual op. Coz I can't tell by gear anymore. I took a break from progression a while back and only returned to it recently, so yes, there are still a few achievements I'd like to get. I don't feel that with the upcoming changes this will happen. The progression scene will die out completely. Whatever happened to earning your place? Why does everybody feel so entitled that they believe they should get everything for (essentially) free? It's bad enough that the game is as easy as it is. People learn nothing anymore by the time they hit endgame. Most new players don't even know how to properly play their classes anymore. Everything for the casual player. Can we please have a tiny slice for the people who are willing to work hard? Is that really too much to ask for?
  24. Call me an Elitist for this if you want, but I don't want a **** storm of players with nightmare gear, who've never done an Operation before. This will only make things worse.
