  1. With free to play, will we be able to purchase server transfers with cartel coins? The server my mains are on are pitifully quite.. Where I started rolling on Harbringer and it’s always busy! I love it! I need to bring my mains over. Theres nothing worse than playing on a quiet server. Makes you want to not bother playing…
  2. SWTOR has the best PVP out of every MMO that I've ever played... And I've played most of the big names.
  3. I was assault until 1.4 landed, now with the range nerf + the poor survivability of assault I've spec'd back to tank. I have all DPS pvp gear too, and took most of the + elemental dmg talents. I also found tank spec good in pvp while levelling. You can outlast most and put out decent damage depending on your gear. The only class I consistently had trouble with was the marauders, but only when all their cooldowns were up.
  4. Merc's are not "The DPS BH class", they can heal in the same way that powertech can tank. Both should be comparable in potential DPS, and they are. Very different playstyles as intended
  5. I'm printing out this post and putting it on my wall Thats gold
  6. PVP was fun in this game because it was a tactical match, not a 2 hit zerg fest. Don't keep it ruined like this for long. This is the first MMO where I've really enjoyed PVP. Don't try and fix things that aren't broken
  7. Hi Bioware, I don't want to sound greedy, but I'm one of the Aussies playing SWTOR since release (and loving it!) and I just heard the great news that oceanic servers will be released March 1st, and I was curious - Will there be more than one character transfer for people living in the asia pacific regions per account? I ask because I've spent a fair amount of time on 2 characters, and since there is currently no PAID transfer (that I'm aware of) I want to know if I should stop playing my alt because if I can't transfer him, and I'm playing on a new server, then it's kind of pointless and I'd have to start over :S A response either way would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Have the server names already been announced?
  9. lol Same here!! Also I hope we can transfer more than one toon :S I've invested a fair amount of time in more than one character... I guess we'll see what happens
  10. I live in Australia (as you may have guessed) and I've been following SWTOR's development for around 5 years. I participated in the early access phase and have been loving the game ever since. Reading this morning - "Players in these countries who currently have or have had an active Star Wars: The Old Republic account prior to February 28, 2012 will have the opportunity to request a free character transfer for a limited time to an Asia Pacific server after the launch on March 1, 2012. All players who qualify for a character transfer will be notified in early March with more details." I just wanted to say thankyou BioWare for not being greedy and offering us, who have supported the game from its inception, the opportunity to keep playing the characters we have spent time levelling on a local server without the financial penalty of paying for a server transfer. Simple geatures like this will keep us loyal for a long time to come (Plus the awesomesauce of the game itself:D )
  11. Great thread The unfortunate side effect of forums is that most people come here to complain sothey tend to give the impression that the sky is falling. I think the vast majority of the community is absiolutely loving the whole SWTOR experience. Keep up the great work! PS. Got any jobs going for system analysts? haha
  12. Same goes... Making Sages 'fully viable' in melee would be terrible like I said above.
  13. BTW I agree that class homogenisation is terrible... But I really dont think that my suggestion reflects this or would lead to this. Even JK's and SW's have ranged lightsabre throws... How is being able to use tumult in pvp or making out lightsabre hit semi viable any different? Also, my alt is a BH powertech and he has decent ranged abilities (30m) which hit pretty hard, but the majority of his abiltiies are 4-10m. I would be a little ticked if they turned the balance tree into a melee build because I like playing ranged and heals. Just a couple of talent points to be considered down the track is all I'm talking.
  14. Blah blah.. You said all that in the first post. I realise there are melee classes, I dont want a melee class. I'm simply saying that when you're closed in on it would be fun to have an option to spec to hit hard with an EXISTING melee ability or two, without becomming OP. Speaking of a WoW mage, they had a very similar combo. Freeze with your AoE when closed in on (melee range), then use ice lance which had a DMG bonus to frozen targets. This is very similar to stunning, then tumult. Another good example of a ranged class that gets a melee talent or two is gunslinger/sniper. In the shared tree they have 2 points they can put into making the pistol whip ability hit harder (15% I think?). No one can argue that they're not a long range AC (double negative :S) but being able to whack a cpl points into pistol whipping the snot out of someone if you're closed in on is just FUN!
  15. I’ve only just started playing a gunslinger and so far I’m really enjoying pvp. He’s only lvl 13 and I topped the boards with 7 medals in a pvp match this morning  The port-a-shield is good for sneaking up and targeting someone for some serious dmg. They have decent on the run damage though which is nice. Overall I think it definitely takes some getting used to but it can be fun and can dish out serious burst.
  16. It’s a suggestion for existing abilities to be made usable in more situations by Sages. There’s nothing more satisfying than stunning a ‘strong’ target and roundhousing them with tumult and watching their HP drop. Obviously ongoing development is more important but this is just a constructive suggestion on what might be fun for some players, myself included. Take your little pile of 50’s and get yourself a life.
  17. I know this has been discussed at length, and while I do really enjoy being a caster I also love having the flexibility of being able to hit when closed in on. We currently have tumult and the 2 melee sabre hits. Could we have 4 talents dedicated to making these viable against elites and other players in PVP? Eg. (1) 1/2/3 points for the sabre hits increasing their damage by 33, 66, 100% (2) 1 point in making tumult usable against elites/bosses and players. I don’t think that these talents would turn a sage into a melee class but they would give the option for people who wanted it without becoming OP. For your consideration
  18. Thats a solid suggestion Make it ****** and put a reasonable cooldown on it
  19. I think its intended to look unimpressive. As the game ages the end game gear will look more and more impressive. Then when an expansion comes out the new end game gear will look rubbish. And the cycle will continue. If they released the game with uber end game gear they'd have nowhere to go with patches.
  20. I agree with all of this... Recycling project would be bad. It would have to be unique or dont bother
  21. Very constructive and clever sugegstion I agree, project is pretty cool especially when you get a double up (balance). However telekenetic throw is a little lame. considering it is a bread and butter ability. Although I do love the low rumble Tk T has while casting
  22. Yeh I'm comlpetely happy with PT animations. I loooove the sound retractable blade makes I think big flashy stuff may come in the future. Ie. The next time they change the talent trees and make new top tier abilities (most likely).
  23. This. I hope they dont change it so it's instant. It wont make sense for their life to drop before the rock hits them. If the .7 sec delay means a loss vs a win then your not winning by enough! Increasing the SI version to .7 sec will likely be the best fix. They'll have to amend their animation though
  24. "So now my good as it could be, every following the jedi code counsler is making around with his padawan" I had to read this 3 times and I still dont know what you mean by it
  25. I agree with all this but it should be small and subtle. Maybe a little glow and a low key woosh sound haha Nothing gawdy like WoW But yes, looking at the buff bar instead of the action isnt fun
