  1. I have to strongly disagree. I am a Strike pilot. They fit my personal play-style perfectly. (although I have yet to get the Clarion where I like it) For me; Scouts are too fast, and require better aiming than I can achieve. Gunships require a style of play that doesn't come naturally to me. Bombers are too slow. While I am perfectly capable of flying them, I don't really enjoy the task. Strikes are just right. Fast enough, strong enough, and gosh-darn-it, I like them. While I am in no way an Ace, I always put up my best numbers while flying my Pike/Quell.
  2. Off Topic: Brevity is always preferred, so long as understanding is conveyed. If comprehension of your point is not transmitted in the amount of words you have chosen to limit yourself to, then your brevity has no more effect nor affect than a belch. Further Off Topic: What is the "-bp" you sign off with? Curiosity begs me to ask.
  3. The Ebon Hawk Republic: Aimbot Republic: Swansea
  4. First let me say that I completely agree with you, Nemarus. But I want to try this puzzle anyway. My first assumption is perfect organization, which nearly never exists. 3x fast Scouts (t1, emp, ect) -Barrelroll 3x protorp Strikers (HLC, armor) -Barrelroll 3x ion Gunships -Barrelroll 3x rail drone Bombers launch: 1 each scout, strike, gunship head to each Satellite (Barrelroll for travel). All three Bombers heat to the nearest Sat together. Scouts arrive at Sat, begin Cap. Strikes arrive at Sat, begin Cap. Scout leave Sat to harass incoming Bombers (eventually dies) Gunships arrive at Sat (Yes AT the Sat), holds Cap, shoots Bombers. Strike leave Sat, shoots (missiles) Bombers. Coordination should pop some bombers before they arrive on site at Sat. Bombers arrive at B (not on the new map, but whatevs) Droners drop their loads outside of Sat zone to cover top/bottom and approach. Dead scouts switch to Strikers and wolfpack to pop respawned bombers away from Sats One would hope that B is now ours (doubt it, but dreams are made) Wolfpack keeps respawning bombers respawning. Gun and Srike from B go to weakest of A & C and free it (I ask a lot don't I) Once we 2Cap the original 3 Strikes form a second wolfpack to keep bombers off the Sats. One Gunship stays at the enemies Sat to keep them honest (and an ace/elite such as Aimbot would keep them Very honest/busy) After that? Fog of War, who knows. Would this plan work? I think doubtful. But what do I know? Meh, it was a challenge. I had to try. Next?
  5. "I learned it from you, Dad! I learned it from you!" Well written, well reasoned, and so, so true. My beloved Strikes are collecting dust on the shelf whenever a Domination Match pops.
  6. I think you're conflating Strike Fighters and Scouts. Burst Lasers and two-shoting you unawares in seconds is a Flashfire/Sting thing. Strike Fighters are the ones who give you all that sweet sweet torpedo love from 10k away.
  7. I love it. GSF is pretty much the only thing I play anymore.
  8. All of your Table of Contents links go to the Bombers post. Very nice work, by the way.
  9. The image does not make a statement of any kind that I can detect. Please use your words so we may be enlightened.
  10. It's all situational. On a contested Sat., shield repair could make the difference. (shield regen strikers probably wouldn't notice a difference) On an uncontested Sat., ammo reload would make a difference. (absolutely no need for extra shield rep if you're not being shot) So, if you're rolling with one, and find yourself in the other situation, Oops. Smeg happens.
  11. I've been backfilled into the losing side of a faceroll before. And I ended up at the top of my sides scorecard. something unimpressive like 5-1-0. I'm not a great pilot, so I'm sure if some of you Aces got in that situation it could change the match. I know, not likely, but possible. Also, all Req is good Req. And, as slow as match pops can be sometimes, I'll take the backfill facestomping. I won't like it, but I'll take it.
  12. So, last night I was (Star) Guarding B in Mesa, full health/shields, And the repair drone kept attaching to me. It wasn't until now, reading your post that I realize it was ammo resupply. Lol. So some bombers are using it. I just wish I would have known at the time, so I could thank them.
  13. Does this mean you haven't been doing the Daily/Weekly GSF quests? I didn't think there was a GSF terminal on the starter planets. (there are terminals on Fleet and Capitol World) That would be a LOT of lost Req if true.
  14. AFAIK, that is only a PvE feature, and not available for PvP matches.
  15. I have the Strongarm gunship. It is exactly as you suggest. Strongarm is to Comet Breaker, as Skybolt is to Flashfire. New ship, same options, different look.
  16. Once more into the breach... - Shakespeare, Henry V
  17. Mine's more of a DOA list. Meaning when I see their names I know I'll be respawning a lot!
  18. I think the new Gunship will do better as a "Satellite Ornament" than our current one.
  19. ... an unsupported Gunship shoots my Striker. R key, Turn, Heal, Lock-on, Gunship go BOOM! (except, of course when I go boom) what about you?
  20. Barrel Roll is Easy-mode. The other engine options require changes in tactics/play-style to be used well. And they can be used well enough to be preferred by some pilots. Full disclosure: I only use Barrel Roll. I fly all the ships and can't be bothered to remember different engine tactics.
  21. You get both. you can change between them in your Hanger between matches. Also, no respec (at this time)
  22. How about The Ahab one who follows his obsession into certain death, despite his well reasoned chat tactics
  23. Of course, when you succeed it's called The Ronin. You only pull The Don Quixote when you fail.
  24. I'm looking for a guild(s) that is heavy into GSF. Either faction (or both). Thank you.
