  1. This would be great, especially if it allowed you to do different story options. Honestly it could be a pretty bit parallel to Mass Effect and how you can start a new game with your high level character. I know it'd be a bit tricky with your character's class quests tied to companions, but I think we'd forgive a few flubs this would create (for example taking Khem Val to go get Khem Val).
  2. Building off this idea, but not using the idea itself since I think it would be an unreasonable amount of work. New content could have advanced class specific content. Quests, items, etc... I think that could be pretty cool. Nothing too fancy since it's a lot of work, but some little things to differentiate your experience a bit more.
  3. I think the OP is talking about the flying in space towards the planet, the very generic ones, which I just use spacebar to skip. What I personally would like is the increase the resolution of the planet textures. Considering how huge they are on screen the texture resolution is quite embarrassing. I actually like the scene itself, it makes me feel all star warsy inside, but like the OP I have the desire to skip them because of the embarrassingly low resolution of the planet textures.
  4. Ability to Travel Directly to a Planet without Boarding your Ship... Right now there's often a middle step that doesn't make much sense. 1) Click your ship in the option to board 2) Wait for load to your ship 3) Board your ship 4) run to your helps 5) Enter galaxy map 6) Select destination 7) Click travel 8) Wait for a quick transition 9) Run to airlock and click it 10) Wait for load to planet It seems like this could be massively reduced by removing 1-4, or something similar. On a planet I'd like to see another option to allow you to avoid boarding your ship and travel directly to a planet and load the planet's loading screen directly, skipping the whole ship loading process. I know it serves as a mechanism to remind you of certain story events and companion dialogues, but if I"m on a planet and want to go back to the fleet or another planet it seems like a complete waste of time to load the ship, run around it, and unload it to load the actual planet I want to go to. Not game changing but saved time is gained time
  5. Not that I challenge your right to disagree, but I'm genuinely curious why you wouldn't like this? Right now bound gear basically becomes extended consumable items. Much of your gear, that you may like, is replaced visually and then it goes to waste or you need to delete it. Ironically I'm reminded that this is a current MMO pattern but if you go back to EQ at Launch gear didn't bind, not until they added "attuneable" gear did bound gear get introduced. In EQ the best twink gear in game is still the old school gear that can be passed on to other characters when you're done with it. I would understand reservations against bind on pickup gear, since it's meant to be harder to get and more tied to your character. But adaptive sets that you spend a good deal of money, it just seems like a big waste to not allow you to share them with your legacy when your done. Of course there are other ways they could do this, like adding a cartel item to unbind gear like this. Personally I would just like it to be a legacy feature, even if it's paid to unlock, but for your entire legacy. I'm still curious (honestly not insultingly) why you wouldn't want the ability to do this? Maybe you wouldn't use it, but what would you have against it.
  6. I would agree this is a risk, though seemed to manage this well to a point. Like previously stated you simply kill the Voice of the Emperor and not the Emperor himself... important but not war ending. Much like how D&D would do the whole, you killed the "Aspect of" a deity vs. the deity itself. Which allows you to feel somewhat epic but not without room to follow. I do think some of the stories ended up being more epic than others however.
  7. I would have to to agree with this, though not the insulting tone. People keep speaking about the Emperor as if it's a mystery who he is (his plans are a mystery but not who he is to a certain point). Also people state that the JK killed the Voice of the Emperor as if it may have been the real Emperor, they're not sure, etc... There is certain lore from the games and books that is currently Canon and told to you. Who the Emperor is, race, how he got his power, etc... is described in the lore, we know it, as players of course not characters. The JK did not kill the Emperor but the Voice of the Emperor, this is what has been told to us in the story of the game. Like it or not these things are in fact known. Don't like the ending of a movie, fine, but there's no use pretending it's not what it is.
  8. Correct... bind on equip wouldn't actually bind to you on equip but bind to your legacy on equip. So you can sell and trade it to whoever before you use it, but once you use it it now can go within your legacy. I have a lot of Bound old armor that would be great for alts or alt companions, the adaptive stuff would be the easiest win since it can work for any character, though the non adaptive stuff would be nice too. I really would have a hard time spending 1440 cartel coins on a set of gear and then once I hit the end game and get more options I have a useless cargo filling set of gear, then it would be great to pass it on to a new alt. Another example, in the more RP side of things, you pass an adaptive expensive set (either bought from the market or gathered/bought from cartel packs) and pass it to an alt and realize the theming doesn't fit that character, but instead another one... it seems like keeping it in your legacy makes a lot of sense.
  9. Reminding people of that again. This means that the JK end was epic but still can keep going. The SW for example: But there's definitely room to go up from there. I think they did a pretty good job balancing the epicness that players obviously wanted and leaving room to proceed.
  10. /bump Have heard others request something fairly similar (some for cartel coins etc) but to me changing the behavior on all existing items that bind on equip seems ideal.
  11. There are multiple answers, all of which are true for different situations or can even be true for the same situation: 1) People have decided to stop playing for whatever reason and want to share those reasons in hope that the game will change according to their feedback 2) People want to vent 3) People hope to find agreement with other people so they hope others will post their agreement 4) People hope to find conflict with other people and hope to argue about it 5) People want attention and are dramatic to get it Hence the universal best response to said threads are a variation of: "Can I have your stuff?"
  12. I'd strongly recommend this order: 1) KOTOR 1 2) KOTOR 2 3) Read Darth Revan 4) Play Old Republic
  13. I don't recall the details of this but Belsavis (the prison planet) was originally built by the Rakata who have always been themed as more technologically advanced (Star Forge and other Infinite Empire technology) so I'm guessing this technology was created by them and not the Old Republic?
  14. I do have to agree... I think the cred loots on npcs starting at around 20+ gets a bit low. Personally I would love it if all "junk" items were removed and replaced with more credits, but even selling junk it can get a bit tight to try to buy gear upgrades, get skill upgrades (can be quite expensive as your leveling up without a higher level donor) and doing crafting skills. I think a good 20-30% boost in credits dropped off creatures would be a good thing, especially on your first character (though even at 50 the credit loot from creatures seems quite low, even if daily quests rewards aren't bad).
  15. I would suggest the distinction could be changing: Bind on Equip to -> Bind To Legacy on Equip but not changing Bind on Pickup So anything that you normally could sell/trade/transfer is fair game for all of your legacy, anything bound on pickup isn't.
  16. I have to agree with the OP. When the game launched a year ago I started a Sith Warrior (SW) and my wife started a Sith Inquisitor (SI). We played together until she stopped playing at level 20, she was pretty bored with the storyline... on the other hand I couldn't stop playing, in about 2-3 weeks I maxed out my character. A few months later I started a SI and caught up with her and now we have both our SI's about level 42. To me the SW story is a solid 10x better overall. The SW is more interesting than the SI to me, Baras is more interesting than Zash, the story involves more of you being competent and accomplishing things yourself... while ... With that I still think the SI story is ok and waaay better than any other MMO story and better than most single player stories.
  17. I would love it if you changed bind on equip to bind to legacy on equip. Not only would this make hand me down gear much more useful but with all the new expensive adaptive sets if you put them on an alt and then think "This would've been better on alt Y" then you don't have to rebuy a whole new set. Or for example if the character gets to end game and you want to swatch out sets you can pass them on to a new lower level char.
  18. /bump Anyone else think these changes would bring in more cartel pack purchases?
  19. Personally I don't want to see houses, just the ability to customize ships. I would love to be able to decorate and theme the outside of the ship too. That could eventually expand to getting new ships with bigger layouts, Guild ships, etc...
  20. Great and constructive post. I've had a very similar experience. I played in beta and got the game at launch, maxed out a character in 2-3 weeks (Christmas break off work allowed me to do a pretty active stretch)... I've mostly been away until about 1-2 weeks ago. Now my wife and I are subbed again and having a lot of fun. The server population has to be one of the biggest thing for us, with the merges. The game feels alive and vibrant when people are running around. That's probably the thing many MMOs lose out on the most when they lose populations... so keeping on top of it with server merges is good. Also I have to say we really enjoy the cartel market. Right now I'm only buying packs to sell for in game credits (the packs gave me too many redundant pointless items, though I can't complain too much since I got a Revan's mask), but considering my work time restrictions this allows me to afford a lot more for my characters than I would. Definitely lots of improvements can be made but it feels like the game's on a good direction finally. Looking forward to the new digital expansion. I really wanted class quests but $10 for 5 more levels of world quests seems like a no brainier to me.
  21. 1) Disagreeing and realizing the OP has no real clue what they are talking about is not saying this game has no performance issues. 2) Don't feed the troll, the OP is pointless and invalid, continuing under this thread with valid performance complaints is feeding the troll, I highly recommend everyone "move along"
  22. I definitely think that having such a crucial aspect of a crafting skill be so completely based on random is very bad. Some variability makes the system interesting, but considering how key RE'ing is to the skills to have to rely fully on a gambling mechanic for something like crafting feels out of place. Would really like it if 20% wasn't the chance but the worst case scenario... meaning at most it will take 5 times to RE something. This allows you to calculate the risk much more accurately and considering crafting in RP terms is supposed to be a skill based set of professions the current level of random doesn't really make sense.
  23. +1 Especially as schematics for crafters
  24. I'm not a CE owner, I decided against it when I preordered it, but I think: 1) I think the CE store needs more items, even just unique color variations of current items 2) Allow for upgrading to the CE edition... 3) Add different colors of the trooper armor to the cartel market or packs or something, maybe even spruce up the CE edition a bit to make it unique and in my humble opinion I think it should be done in that order.
