  1. Quoted for truth; and reiteration because it was the last post on the page and likely to be skimmed over. Should it have been extended to all people who held an active subscription over the game life span thus far? Probably; would have been a better move in my (worthless) personal opinion. But whatever I say. This action spells out two things to me; they understand that things are rough and people are upset and compromised where the corporate overlords allowed, and that they needed something to keep those who met the conditions of the free time around for a month while things are ironed out. It is what it is; but I can't shake the whole, "Meh." feeling about it. They'll either do something to draw in players and keep them, or they won't. I'll be around for a while either way but there is just an apathetic feel looming around my head at the moment. -EDIT- Edited to correct the quote structure. Also my post seems to have a rather depressed tone... so to breath some positive energy into it: I am very pleased with the better character textures, and am especially enjoying the 'color unification' option. Playing an alt last night I must have clicked that little box 30 times as minor gear updates roll in left and right. Each time it was just a nice feeling to see the appearance... flow better? Or at least not have my generally green set blotched by a bleach white or neon red new pair of gloves.

Interestingly enough; what if he has a full resolve bar and charges to you? You're rooted, he can't be stunned. The channel can't be interrupted. Only option: break the root and make distance in... less then .5 seconds? (the damage comes in two spikes. Two strikes at the beginning of the channel, and the last at the very end) Assuming a Jugger charges you for the root: have a stun up? He's already (most likely) immune to knock-backs from the 4-second buff (physics immunity) without needing a full resolve bar. Generally speaking; using an on-demand stun will only fill most of his resolve bar and in which case you're screwed unless you can out burst him. Strictly my opinion: but that is just not fun gameplay.
  3. I was a healer. I did see this coming. And over the last day; I just laugh. I laugh and laugh and laugh. Data was given, changes weren't made. So now all that is left to be done is watch the fallout. And to answer your scenario; the all DPS team wins. Assuming, of course: equal skill and gear on both sides.
  4. Acteon DeLancre, of the Lakeshire Delancres. Name fell on me as part of an RP story, and its stuck with me ever since.
  5. +1 I've only started browsing the forums with news of these changes; but I'm a career healer. (Across multiple games) The sage changes are generally quite frightening from both a PvP and PvE perspective. PvE; how am I going to recoup that 15% health per NS? Especially in instances where group wide damage occurs? Perhaps I'll just have to drop NS from the bars; but then where do I get force return from? The static 8 per second and that is all; deal with it? I've not done hard-mode raids; to many of my friends already lost interest in the game and moved on before we could complete them. (I'm still looking for a new guild.) But it seemed to me that unless the DPS were avoiding all possible avoidable damage in standard heroics; I would have to multi-target heal. Multi-target healing is very, very resource intensive. Especially when people don't realize the shiny gold circle is where you need to stand to live. My core worry is burst damage (because of losing the 1-second off cast time on the only heal worth casting, I haven't had the quick expensive heal on the bar since I learned the slower one) and longevity. How can I keep going without a return mechanic? PvP; I just don't understand how a sage is going to be able to heal PvP after this change. Not like its exactly easy now; with the interrupts and focusing I receive by virtue of being known as a healer. At this point it is already, "I've been spotted; run for my life until they forget me!" or be slaughtered by any competent dps who jumps at me. Currently if you take large chunks of damage the maneuver to survive is back-to-back long cast heals with the -1 second cast time buff from our HoT. (This is 2 4k+ heals in about 3 seconds) Rather then just correct the double-dip on the buff they change the mechanic completely. Now in that same time frame I'll get off 1 heal, at most. My question to the dps out there: How fast can you do 4K damage? Less then 3 seconds? Congratulations; you're out dpsing me without interrupts.
  6. I'm sorry, but I damn nearly spat my tea all over my monitor when I read this preposterous change. Have we any math-centric individuals around who can stem the feeling of 'sky-falling' that this brings? I'm not so sure the class is ... well going to work like this.
  7. I personally can break 5K almost on command with my Sorc. I have zero pvp gear; a few heroic pieces, and trade market purples that I purchased for the rest of my slots. Grab the expertise buff; pop recklessness for crit; rakata attack adrenal; and a power relic. Then death-field anything. Running 13/28 build.
  8. Oh, its confirmed? I had only heard rumors. Wonderful news then. Generally I like to toggle between a balance spec and a seer spec on my sage. I had no want of respect to a shadow; that would just be silly. But going balance to solo, get an invite from a friend, head back to the fleet, change to seer; only to find out ten minutes later that we're short people to actually run something... well it gets old fast.
  9. Personally; I'd like to see an option to buy dual spec, or just have it baked into the characters. I've found that I very much enjoy playing through quests and pvp as a dps build. However; my small group of friends requires a healer for flash points / ops and occasionally PvP. So I've basically staid healer spec (even though I despise having such terrible damage output while leveling) because as I level I simply can't afford respecing and skill training.
  10. I have thus far only gotten a single character to 50. A Sorcerer. Got some gear, did a lot of pvp, and generally destroyed heroics. And frankly? I got bored so fast. None of my guild mates wanted to do anything. None of my friends wanted to do anything. It was terribly dull sitting around the station all day. But then, I stumbled on something interesting within the game. Did you know this game has cheat codes? And the difference was just night and day, I'm once again enjoying just about every minute I spend in game.
  11. Confirming I also run into this issue. It seems intermittent; and I am unable to track down the exact cause. Quitting the client completely; and relaunching it tends to correct it for me.
  12. I generally like to put the last point into Concentration. Use it like a little mini-game during slow healing periods. But honestly there isn't really a good 'spot' for the last point.
  13. When I first encountered Holiday I was actually playing my Sith Inquisitor. Because she was target-able; I thought it was another player...
  14. Wonderful news indeed. Just ran into a problem last night were someone was trying to get my attention, but I didn't notice because... other games... have trained me to look for text bubbles. Was quite embarrassing actually.
  15. I will also be sticking around for a while. Its quite extraordinary; but all of my minor gripes with the game seemed to vanish the moment I hit: "Server List -> RP/PvP -> Create New Character" Like I put in a cheat code or something.
  16. Well sadly the thread was moved; and is destined to die a slow and cold death over many bump-less days. Fare well suggestion, I barely knew thee.
  17. A very interesting idea. Perhaps not the station; because people would object to it. But what about a single cantina such as Nar'Shadda? Somewhere where it would make sense (from a story perspective) that some kid with a bit of rythem is trying to get his / her music out in desperate hopes of a better lifestyle. Or perhaps I'm just being bias; because I would love to drop a token to play this for some friends: (Copyright to Ronald Jenkins)
  18. I wonder how many points that dishonor would cost him...
  19. Give another look at the 1.2 trailer. Specifically the 1:40 mark. I personally can not wait to get my hands on that...
  20. From the first day I saw the trauma debuff I knew healing was essentially going to be weak. After playing a full heal spec sorc for a while; my worries were only confirmed. I do less to swing the tide of battle for my team trying to keep a target alive then if I were to be DPS. I can heal with trinkets and adrenals for about 5-6K per big cast (2.5s) or about 1500 / second with the channeled ability. That is a: 2000 / 2400 per second 'swing' in the battle of health bars. Or, I could run 23-18, and every 12 seconds lay out back to back instant cast 5k, aoe attacks. I've had a few voidstar matches that were examples of pure hilarity; a powertech or jugger runs up to the door; the enemy team dog piles on him. Between Smash, Death field, and chain lightning; all of the assaulters keel over and we get the bomb plant. The raw amount of damage output vs healing potential is laughably skewed.
  21. I remember, back in another game: when a motorcycle mount was introduced. I grinded my arse off to get the materials for it, and had one of the first completed bikes. Time went by; and now almost everyone has one. Am I mad? Heck no. Soon as I finished mine; I started making more for friends. When those were done; we'd ride our hogs together into battle under the glorious purr of finely crafted engines. The OP sounds like, to me; in my meaningless opinion, he wants to have a mount that virtually no one else will have. So other players can look upon him with envy. If that's what you're going for; I'm sorry you picked a bad time for it. Personally, I can't wait to get my baron. It just screams, "NC 4 life!"
  22. Might be interesting; but I have a hard time justifying the loss of 30% crit on deathfield. With 30% on deathfield, and 20% on chain lightning with a wrath proc; I can hit: relic + adrenal + recklessness and put out almost guaranteed back-to-back 5K crits. It is some seriously scary burst when things line up. I wish there were some established theory crafting; but alas I will have to try it myself. Thanks again for the valuable insight.
  23. Did you have a link to your 23/18 build in your earlier posts? (Going back to check) I've only actually run the madness hybrid for a day and am looking for input / ways to improve it. -EDIT- Found it, under your hybrid section. I'll give it some thought; will probably try running it tonight.
  24. This here is my issue. In the event that you are getting facestomped; 4-6 medals. Generally less. I had a voidstar match yesterday where sentinals were force-leaping into the respawn room and lawn-mowing people down. As a healer, know what I could do? Nothing. My heals weren't enough to keep anyone alive; and I had terrible damage output of my own. After the respec; I can at least blow cooldowns and get a good deathfield / chain lightning combo off for loads of quick damage. But the madness / lightning hybrid can still crank out 7-8 medals just by throwing out the hard-critting instant casts. Commonly, I am facing much better geared opponents. Be it bad luck; or my lack of dedication to the pvp grind.
