  1. I can verify this bug. It happens in the 8 player version as well as the 16 player version that SOA loses randomly aggro in P3.

     

    While it is still manageable - if you are lucky - to kill him on normal where the required damage output on the boss is not that high, it is nearly impossible to get him killed on nightmare where you can miss at most one pilon to not face the enrage phase of SOA.

     

    we killed Soa in 16m nightmare tonight, with this bug, even missing the 3rd pylon, then the 5th. The enrage is laughable on this boss, any decently geared tank will be able to survive the enraged hits, and should be able to avoid the pylon so he doesnt die.

  2. We've tried FFA.. everything pops up on the screen at once and some people struggle to get their rolls in. Also we have no time to discuss who deserves or needs an item more.

     

    Round Robin I'm told is the same crap as in normal mode

     

    Master looter is really bugged as most know. Sometimes its just no crafting materials, sometimes its no Rakata.

     

    we raid on nightmare setting if that makes any difference for the bugs.

     

    We leave it on whatever default is called (i guess round robin?) and have someone who has auto loot turned off, and only that someone, loot the boss/chest, and right click each item one by one at whatever pace you desire.

     

    This allows you time to announce multiple tier pieces, see who wins the first so they can pass the next etc. It has worked fine with no issues, except when someone with autoloot on decides to loot the boss half way through, and cause everything to go up for rolls :(

  3. From what you described in the first part of your post, that is the cannonade, and he targets the highest threat target with it, then charges it for a few seconds, then fires it. Its a 15-18k hit + a 3k / sec dot. The reason your DPS get hit by it when the tank gets knocked back, is they are now the highest threat after the KB, even though the taunt debuff is on him, he targetted them before and was charging it, so it will still fire on them. This is solved by having a second tank fighting for aggro and taunting on swipes to keep at the top of the threat list.

     

     

    As for the video you posted the only conclusion I can draw is that it was his reticle missile, and the reticle didnt appear. These missiles stop at 75%.

  4. Does this still work ok in 8 man? Losing 3 DPS to clicking panels only leaves you with 1 actual full-time DPS (not to mention that you rarely have 3 ranged DPS available). Maybe it still works better though if it helps you fire the laser more quickly, I dunno

     

    In 8man we used 1 dps and the tank who wasnt tanking at the time. I am a jugg tank so I would just intercede the healer up top, or the ranged dps, or our assassin tank would get pulled up. Just have to be careful, if you arent using the middle laser thing, the proximity droids stack, so running through a stack on the side (if youf all down or something) will cause like 4-5 to explode, killing you in like 2 ticks.

  5. How do you assign people to each task? Do you have 3 people up top clicking (one on each panel), or 1-2 people up top clicking and running between platforms? For ranged DPS who are clicking, how much time do they spend DPSing the boss after firing the laser, before going back to clicking panels? And how do you deal with proximity mines on the ledge up top?

     

    on 16man nightmare we assign 3 people to the puzzle. One at each terminal, and during the firing phases they stay on the boss until 1 or 2 stacks.

     

    We also skip the middle one, only doing it when we see fit if we are behind on droids or if they spawn right before we are about to fire.

     

    As for the proximity mines, we keep one healer up top to heal us 3, and either knock it back, blow it up, or kill it (if ranged dps).

  6. I'd agree with you, but you put up a convincing argument.

     

    I was more referencing our anni kill, of which we have like 12 members from. However, the prenerf Soa HM, while not much to brag about, is something that (afaik) only a few (3? 4?) guilds on this list can claim. When i posted that, it was just you guys, condemned and millenium. Which, at the time, made it not much to brag about.

     

    Do we also get honorable mention for our 16m titles the first week we killed stuff?

  7. I think they basically broke aggro this patch. Soa is the most obvious example, but we noticed that the first droid in EV was using his missile crap on "random" targets vs the main or secondary tank that's usual. We think it was because of aggro probs. If you are undergeared a bit, I can see this being a major problem for people.

     

    Yeah I was having issues with soa in p3 tonight. I'd taunt him when he landed like normal, taunt would wear off, and he'd turn around and chase a dps. I still dont get it, it happened multiple times. (by multiple, i mean the 2, then we killed it anyway)
