  1. Of course only one person can loot it...it's a drop, there's only one there.

It's comes with no mods in it, so it isn't counted as a green/blue/purple item for loot threshold purposes.

Unless the leader has set the loot threshold to like grey items, the first person who clicks on the boss will get it (if it drops).

Thats not true, the way we do loot is to have someone (me) with auto loot turned off go through and click stuff to roll on it. The hat has dropped 3x, twice to the same person, I have never seen it on the boss.

  2. This is how I read the data:

In the first fight there was not a whole lot to heal. This is apparent because almost every healer except the merc has over 30% overhealing. This could perhaps be because of aoe healing keeping everyone alive. This ties well into the sorc peeking HpS on this fight, but not the other, and correlates well with the difference in effective healing. On the second fight there is probably less aoe damage, the off-sorc is overhealing like a boss, which would imply the other healers are topping everyone off quickly. The HpS on this fight is also much closer. However the effective healing graph does not show from 0 on the y axis and therefore at first glance gives a wrong impression, if you only look at the disparity on the bars. I suspect the merc is holding back, since there is not much to heal compared to how many healers are active. These numbers are by no means indicative of anything, although they are nice to have.

woops good catch on the axis of the 2nd effective healing graph, i updated it.

  3. Appreciate the info, any chance you have this info broken down by skill? I think knowing where the pitfalls are coming into play can be extremely helpful. Being able to see which skills are living up to what they SHOULD be (or not) can be useful in identifying what skills need to be further adjusted.

The data is all broken down by skill in ACT, but at the moment i have no way of importing it into excel other than manually, and the charts ACT makes are not very pretty.

I will try and find a way to do it and will post here if I do.

  4. These numbers were recorded tonight in 16m story mode explosive conflict. Your results may vary. These logs also do not count shields @_@

This is from our Zorn and Toth story mode kill.

Take from this what you will, just wanted to get some numbers out there for peoples comparison.

Once i get all our DPS logs uploaded I will make similar charts.

  5. Excellent...thanks. Any feedback if 8 mans will need 1.3 gear to complete the new Ops...or will 1.2 gear be able to clear NM?

The fights are currently tuned in a way that would seem to require rakata gear to complete story mode. Granted we were doing some mechanics wrong and kind of brute forcing it.

There is no way to know what bioware will do to the difficulty of the new operation from now until release, so anything anyone says (other than a dev) is just speculating.

  6. What I dont get is why the heck every raiding guild always cuts out the footage of the loot that bosses such as the Nightmare Pilgrim drop, thats what alot of people want to see and they always cut out that footage like its G-16 Classified and cant be released to the general public.

#1 its PTS, loot isnt final

#2 I have a SS of it posted and the video of it on my stream.

We have also posted the loot in multple places.

Campaign boot token, black hole implant, 146 bracers.

  7. Thank you for your meaningful contribution to this discussion.

Cali folks, I think we're good for a test this weekend. What time are you thinking? I don't know if we'll be able to bring a full 16 on our own, but I'm sure we can pull together enough from other guilds to make it work.

We will be raiding the new operation tonight instead of live raiding, I'm not sure we will have a full 16, might need some help.

  8. I do agree - the devs were not being rude by voicing their approval of this well-written post. However, I am concerned at any implication that the devs may assign higher value to feedback that is well-written versus the poorly written, sometimes vague, and often rude feedback they get in these forums. Understandably, it is hard to take away anything constructive from those posters who essentially are communicating "BW - you suck." I wouldn't be eager to respond to that either.

However, the complainers sometimes have valid points muddled in with their insults and gripes. Legitimate complaints and concerns about the game in these forums are often presented in an immature and emotional fashion, but that does not meant the frustration expressed is illegitimate. Some people are just better at communicating/writing than others.

So, while I also applaud the OP and his guild for making intelligent feedback, I hope that there will be some counter-perspectives posted here that get equal attention. Unfortunately, it is probably too much to hope that any counter-perspectives wll be as well-written as the first.

I am not able to play on the PTS, as I wanted to stay with my guild. However, I am eagerly reading feedback here on 1.2. From my limited perspective, the review of this operation, while constructive, does not represent my interests. I am a casual player with a lot of real life obligations that limit my ability to grind gear and play for hours on end as I would like. Despite this, I love operations and group content. I want to be able to enjoy operations adn flashpoints as much as the hardcore players do, but I just don't have the time to invest. This review makes me concerned. The feedback was all to the tune of: "make it more challenging for PUGs so that only pre-mades can enjoy this content." I don't want easy, necessarily, but I do want a challenge that is accessible to me and to other casual players who cannot always be there at guild events and rely on PUGs for group content.

    TL;DR

    1. Well-written, constructive feedback is great, is not necessarily representive of all players.

    2. As a casual player with RL obligations, I don't feel the feedback represented my interests, and I want PUGs to be a viable option for group content.

    3. As a casual player, I want the game's group content to be more accessible to me generally, and this feedback, while well-written, concerns me.

    Thanks.

Our intent in asking for content to be harder is not to alienate players like you. There are multiple difficulty levels for a reason, we are only asking that the top difficulty level be challenging.

Story mode and (most likely) hard mode will still be able to be completed by pugs. It is our hope that in this next tier of content Nightmare mode is more fitting of its name, and provides us with an ample challenge. I would also hope that any player who wants to see the content has an opportunity to in either Story Mode or Hard mode.

  9. I already did a /bug for this. I would hope you did as well.

after rereading the yellow post, it seems as if this is intended.

Edit after some further investigation on the PTS and analyzing word for word the yellow post. It almost seems as if all NEW items (ie black hole, campaign and the new tier of raid gear) will have the set bonus ON the armoring.

I got some campaign boots last night, with no stats whatso ever, no armoring, no mod, no set bonus. Which leads us to believe that the new gear will have the set bonus on the armoring.

If you take all the armoring, mods, enhancements etc out of a rakata piece right now, the set bonus still stays on there. Which fits with what he said.

  10. The part that only applies to new gear is the set bonus. Before Game Update 1.2, the set bonus is attached to the shell item, and thus it cannot be moved from old items. In Game Update 1.2, the set bonus will be attached to the armoring, meaning you can move it between items.

Just to let you know, this currently does not work on the PTS. The armorings come out as labelled with the slot and can only go in that slot, but the set bonus isnt listed on the armoring. When put into orange gear, and equipped with an original piece of tier, the set bonus appears satisfied (green), however the effect is not applied. This was easily tested with the sorc healing 4pc (+50 force) and warrior DPS 2pc (-5s on enrage CD).

  11. Yes.

Early reports from copied characters who are actually TESTING the changes, as opposed to people reading patch notes, are that the changes are not as bad as people think it is. Resource management is harder, they suggest, but good players are still good players.

    this.

We had 2 merc healers, 1 op healer, and 1 sorc healer for the new world boss tonight.

The mercs played around, picked up the new heat management rotation, and were able to effectively heal us through it. While their throughput was probably lower (yeah we have logs, but nothing to compare it to) we wont be sitting mercs anytime soon. Unless they buff ops more, then we'll just bring a ton of ops.
