  1. I mean, seriously, is anyone really surprised by this? I always have a good chuckle when people start screaming for compensation, especially at this point in the games "development". At this point for me im more entertained by the comedy of errors this game is on a regular basis, than I am by the actual game content. Im just happy to log in now and then, smoke a bowl (legal where I live) and live in the Star Wars universe for a couple hours. Its a good thing my expectations are low or this might almost be irritating.
  2. Make level sync a toggle. I'm with the group that thinks that heroics should be hard, especially Heroic FP's like the SF's. However, when I travel to Hoth or Taris or even Makeb it SHOULD be easy for my character. After all Ive conquered those planets and so has my companion. We should mow through them, collect our rewards to up our alliance standing and companion influence and move on to harder content. Making level sync a toggle allows those of us that don't want to waste time on needless and tedious tasks to complete them quickly, while those that want to experience the combat at a more difficult level to do just that. I get to feel epic and powerful, and my companion is still not overshadowing my abilities. The needless grind is reduced and people are still going to have to group for harder content, as is only right.
  3. I was going to post something similar myself. I get the distinct impression that I'm now downloading the entire game all over again, despite having followed the advice to simply let it run. I started patching around noon PDT, as it is now approaching 8 hours of downloading at near max on my sad little DSL line, Ive reached 60%. Seems like an awfully big patch for just a X.X.2
  4. I was stuck for a while but as instructed I simply left it alone. Came back after 4 hours of that to find Ive gone a whole 7% (from 25ish to 32ish). I was looking forward to the weekly reset, but now reading all the post about companions I'm no longer looking forward to playing. Did you hear that BIOWARE? I am no longer looking forward to playing. That should tell you something about your management of this weeks nonsense.
  5. Yes, I simply cant fathom the logic used to remove the reward. First of all lets compare to pre 2.0 standards. The daily elite space missions prior to 2.0 gave 2 black hole comms. BH comms were the highest level of commendation available, however, it didnt purchace the highest tier of gear available. In post 2.0 eilte comms are not EVEN the highest level of comm, nor is it the higest level of gear availble for comms. In terms of the gear tiers, pre 2.0 Black hole gear is roughly equivilant to 2.0 Black Market gear which can be purchased with elite comms. Removing the elite comms from elite space missions is a big nerf. Assuming its to stop botters doesnt explain the timing and the lack of anything being done pre 2.0. There are already better ways to farm elite comms and its my belief that BW is trying to steer us players away from solo type play towards more social forms (thus the whole "join a guild, you'll get more XP" push). I for one dont like being pushed out of my comfort zone and I find this change unacceptable.
  6. I noticed the moment I hit the servers when the servers went live with the early realease patch. I thought it was just me and my own server lag but it never went away. Im a sniper and series of shots doesnt animate smoothly when there is a misfire skill as well. It will fire off in spits and spurts. I use the sound of it firing to time my next cast rather than having to watch a castbar, and its messed up timing makes me miss my next cast, and what seems like a misfire of the GCD then cascades to ruin any rhythm I might have had. I was concerned that the small amount of alacrity Ive added to my gear and specing additional alacrity in my skill trees was causing it. I hope they address this sooner rather than later as its definately affecting my play experience.
  7. I agree with the above poster (though Im not QQ over it all), this "top priority...we'll fix it with 2.0" is garbage. If it werent for the fact that I get a significant number of my black hole comms from heroics space dailies, then I wouldnt be sweating it. Is there a workaround? yes, but there are some missions that Im able to complete just by the skin of my teeth or take several tries to get it done. My game time, like many others is precious and spening it re-doing space missions becaise of a bug is frustrating. Simply put, BW has asked for input from the community on these types of things. They have recieved it! How this issue can make it past this weeks upcoming patch is hard for me to accept.
  8. Hyperspace legend here as well. Id be willing to bet Im the first (or close to it) on Harbinger as I happened to log in early Tuesday morning and didnt even use all the certs on ONE of my toons to reach Legend rep. Now I simply have stacks of leftovers and cant bring myself to delete them for fear they be useful for something in the future. I wish they could be converted to commendations or give us access to an extra weekly heroic mission or be sold or something. To be honest reaching legend was a bit anti-climactic as Im not interested in the gear. I hope they add more rewards.
  9. Guild joined! Thank you all who replied.
  10. I sent you a PM here on the forums, but give me an ingame contact so we can chat. My GF chatted with you a bit tonight. She had positive things to say. We should chat a bit more. I checked out your recruiting thread and also your website alittle and I agree you sound like my kind of people. I'd also like to chat a bit more about it and get a feel for the "management"
  11. My girlfriend and I have decided that we like the game enough now to go ahead and join a guild. We are looking for a casual friendly atmoshpere of adults with NO DRAMA. I have several 50's including an assassin that is Rakata+ geared ready for raiding and another 50 Marauder thats ready to start gearing up. Im more interested in PVE playstyle. My girlfriend is working on her first 50 and likes PVP. We both have several alts as well. We are not looking for a guild that has a problem with course language or adult conversation. Also not looking to join up with gear grinders and A.Retentive micro-managing control freaks. If you have a guild that you think we might fit we'd like to try running some stuff before commiting to something long term.
  12. Khevar, one word. Probability
  13. I guess I am reading that wrong, but Im also hoping this is a bug fix. I am HOPING this means I will get knocked off my cartel speeder on par with my daily or darkside speeder (both toons have lvl3 piloting). Im almost certain this was not working as intended. This just feels like a typical Bioware style quickfix: make the speeders all rank 3 rather than track down who has what in terms of speeders/piloting. I'll have achance to test this in SectionX while doing dailies this evening.
  14. I KNEW IT! Admittedly I dont hit the forums THAT much and I hadnt heard anything or read anything about this but I've had suspicions for a while now that getting knoocked off your mount was implemented incorrectly. I thought it might have been that I had unlocked the skills for speeder II and III with cartel unlocks but it seemed to me that my 50 Marauder was getting knocked off her cartel market speeder a WHOLE LOT more often and easily than my 50 Inquis who rides the daily comm speeder. and now I see... The way I read that is that the adaptive speeders werent working as intended so they just made all the adaptive speeders rate at lvl3 for knockoff but speed will still be based on piloting level. Im glad they fixed this despite it not being an overly discussed topic! Im still concerned however that speed itself for adaptive speeders and cartel piloting unlocks are not scaling correctly. Maybe its just me, but I still feel like my marauder is just slower on her Longspur Elite than my Inquis is on her Longspur Blaze or Paxon Xeno. I havent actually tested this (cant be on both charactors at the same time) but I was wondering if anyone else has.
  15. a statistical anomaly, requiring 1000 coin flips to prove its possible, isnt proof of anything relevant here. In fact it proves the rule, because Id bet on his 11th toss it hit tails because the ODDS were stacked against him. For all we know, he hit tails 10 times in a row right after that. Thats the way odds work. If my experience was just an anamoly, then so be it. Does it hurt anything to ask the question here? Of course the larger the sample size the more accurate the results. DUH! But that doesnt alter the simple FACT that the more times you break the odds, the greater your chance on the next attempt. Huge sample sizes may in fact prove the STATISTICS correct for R/E, but odds are odds and in a RNG system, when the odds APPEAR to break down, I start to question them. Statistically, I agree, but none of that alters my ODDS. Someone elses good run of luck doesnt somehow increase my odds of failing. That not how it works man. Im not interested in getting into some kind of pissing match with you about this. If you dont have something useful to add to the conversation please feel free to ignore the topic and move on. Im more interested in hearing a DEV say they've looked at this recently and can verify with THIER metrics that the system is working as intended and that relogging these seeming long odds breaking runs are simply bad luck and not a broken mechanic of the game. Remeber this is an admittedly buggy game still. The fact that I relogged and "fixed" my concern may have been pure chance, or it may have reset a broken mechanic. Id like to see others post here if they are able to duplicate the result. If after say 25 or 30 failures, try relogging and post if you hit in the next run of 5.
  16. Who said anything about not enjoying it? I simply thought the process might have been bugged. As it turns out I tried relogging after the terrible run of luck and got a schem on the 3rd attempt after that so PERHAPS...that had something to do with it. As for those of you saying its a re-roll each time. I understand that, but Im wondering how many of you might not understand odds and statistics. The way it works is like this: Statistically I have a one in 5 chance of hitting a schematic. That means that the more times I attempt and fail, the greater my odds are that I will hit on the next attempt...statistically speaking of course. When you dont hit after 30 or 40 attempts, either the mechanic is broken or you are deep nito a statistical anomally. If you flipped a coin 10 times and hit heads every time, wouldnt you question whether or not the coin was "rigged"? Again, I wasnt actually complaining about this topic. I am well aware of the limitations of the system. Just couldnt fathom how my luck was soooo bad for so long.
  17. Is this mechanic broken again? Today I wanted to make some upgrades for a friends armorings. I went and farmed the mats allowing room for error and began to craft Resolve Armoring 13's in order to R/E to make her some blues of that level. No joking at all, Im at 26 made and R/E'd with still no schematic. I have never found it THIS hard to get a schematic before. I tried to relog and make more but tbh, Im just too frustrated now to bother. I will try coming back to it later, but I wanted to ask is anyone else is experienceing this today, or if there is a known bug/workaround when its that obviously broken. (Im a sub, so my chance roll is 20% and my odds are well below that right now, with still nothing)
  18. WoW, pardon my shock but an actual DEV responce to a thread I figured was so buried I didnt bother to bump it? Thanks for the response and your answer is good news! This new forum presence is a step in the RIGHT direction guys. Cheers.
  19. Ok, I started out as a subscriber at launch (founder), then got bored and unsubbed for a while and was drawn back in due to F2P. Since F2P launch I have aquired quite a few unlocks including Artifact Equipment Authorizations, GTN slot upgrades and early speeder training across the account. I have a friend that decided to play and she subbed so I decided to just bite the bullet and join her for at least a month. But here is my question and my concern. Will all of my previous unlocks, and any additional unlocks I might decide to aquire during my subbed status remain next month if I decide to go BACK to f2p status. My concern is that since most things are automatic for subs (like artifact equipment auth. for example), will that somehow "reset" my previously unlocked authorizations from my f2p preferred status, requiring me to re-authorize those things if I go back to F2P? Also, would I be able to purchase additional unlocks during my subbed status and be assured they would remain when I go back to F2P. I went ahead and subbed assuming that this wouldnt be a concern, but now Im having 2nd thoughts and wanted some re-assurance from a developer that this would be the case. Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
  20. Its laughable that the person supporting the "give every form of playstyle every possible reward" argument calls me the "carebear" in this scenario. Project much? Who is trolling who here? Additionally your argument that that GTN is "pvp" is a stretch at least and indicative of your flawed logic and mentality. While there may be SOME competition involved the primary role of the trade network is to be mutually beneficial to both buyers and sellers. As for Rakata gear, its the best PVE gear in the game, it should naturally come from the hardest PVE content, just as the best PVP gear comes from PVP content. What is so hard to understand about that? That Bioware has done a poor job of balancing the stats of the two forms so that they are mutually exclusive is not a good enough reason to want it handed to you. As Ive said twice now, you want the rewards that come from a given playstyle, go play it, no one is stopping you but YOU! PVP reward in any fashion whatsoever? NO freakin way! I DO however support the idea that they can be non-bound items. I would be happy to make some cash on the dozen or so I have sitting completely useless in my cargo hold. I'd be happy to take your money.
  21. This isnt a "play my way" arguement in the least. Its a play the way the game was designed or miss out argument. PVP is about...wait for it, killing other players! Its has its own set of rules and its own entirely different set of rewards. As a non-pvp'r I have zero access to those rewards unless Im willing to play that way, the way the game was designed. This game is STUPID EASY to begin with, and CHOOSING not to run FP's to get bca's is just plain lazy, but asking to get it rewarded from killing other players is ludicrous and far to easily exploited. Stop being lazy and go run a couple FP's with friends and you will have enough bca's to do whatever you want. One days effort at the most!
  22. I laughed, I cried, I loved it. Would read again! seriously..."Same colors only fresher" has me busting up!
  23. Life isnt about fair, its about survival of the fittest. Go make a name now or deal with it when its too late. Life sucks, wear a helmet.
  24. The sense of entitlement to all things in the game via the one limited way YOU enjoy playing the game is what is the CORE of the problem with modern MMO's. Its carebare customer service gone wild. Lets just give everything to everyone! Another good example is the magenta schematic that will be available on a vendor in a week when people worked hard to kill the worlds bosses enough times to get it to drop. This game is already MMO on easy mode and that strategy is why there is nothing left to do a month or two into the game. Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it. As has been said, running a few FP's is rediculously easy. Man up and go do it you want crafting materials.
  25. I think its a HUGE mistake and will be bad for all. The last thing we need is to split the servers up even more. The Aussies that transfer will trade a better ping for low population servers with zero economy. Those of us left on the US servers will lose geared players and crafters and it will change the dynamic ALOT. Its a lose/lose scenario imho.
