  1. So, Ms "You must be a Bioware Plant" ! I did actually manage to download the PTS client, after jumping through a bunch of hoops. Character Copy doesn't exist anywhere, so I had to start a fresh character on PTS. And low and behold, can't progress much further than Level 5 because the damn TRAINER won't give me new skills! Like... ANY. Created a Guardian first, started at Level 1 with 0 skills. Thankfully I had access to Shae Vizla via the mailbox, set to Damage Mode to kill things. Created a Sentinel, and that one had basic skills at Level 1. But neither character allowed me to interact with the trainer for additional skills. So I bow to your majesty, and admit that this is all doom and gloom, will most definitely fail since obviously the entire game will be broken if it goes live in it's CURRENT state etc. Note the bolded word there, as it may be a difficult concept for some that what is CURRENTLY on test server, is almost certainly very different from the END result when it goes live. And in case this post doesn't make it abundantly clear: I AM NOT A BIOWARE PLANT !!!
  2. Of course I'm on that list, but I am not the only one. Does it matter?!? Does Feedback need to agree with yours for it to be valid? Or is all feedback that contradicts your own, automatically from a "Bioware plant" ?
  3. Would love to try out the forthcoming changes (and the addition of Combat Styles), but I see no options to access the PTS or copy my characters. I use Steam. Any suggestions? (beyond calling me a Bioware plant, or some other insulting remark) https://imgur.com/a/lgsfklW
  4. I have no reason to justify my comments to you, when regardless of what I say, you'll still believe I'm a Bioware plant. So why bother? I've gotten my answers elsewhere regarding PTS. I have the client via Steam, and Steam users don't have access to the PTS. Ergo, not my fault for not being able to try out the changes, but rather Bioware. Oh really?!? Well, I have an active subscription, and I use Steam. No such option exists for me via the launcher, or the account page. https://imgur.com/a/lgsfklW
  5. I can definitively say, I am not a Bioware plant. But I'll ask you: Why should anyone come to these forums to give feedback on changes, if the feedback is "in favor of" of the changes. Seems to me, anyone who likes the changes, or the idea of the changes gets shouted down as a "Bioware plant"
  6. Then by all means, feel free to point me in the direction of accessing the PTS when the option does not exist in my launcher, and PTS Character Copy is not shown on my Account page (despite having an active sub) I am well aware how PR and PTS can differ greatly, and would love to try out the changes for myself. I just don't outright hate things because "change is bad, Bioware bad!" like certain other individuals in this thread are implying.
  7. See, reading comments such as yours, is there any wonder why I don't frequent the forums? I never said "I don't bother" with PTS. I said I couldn't access it. But I guess reading comprehension is hard for some people. It's funny really. Looking at various posts on the forum regarding these changes, people who approve of it or aren't opposed to them, get "shouted down" or deemed shills for Bioware. Why give any feedback at all, if you get derided by individuals such as yourself when one disagrees with your opinions?
  8. Yes. I just don't frequent the Forums much (or at all). I would, if I could. But the only guide I find for accessing the PTS is either outdated or inaccurate, as my launcher doesn't have the option for accessing the PTS environment, and my account page doesn't have a PTS Character Copy option. In my opinion, it is indeed ability bloated. I may not play the game 24/7, and indeed have taken occasional breaks since 2010. But I am well aware of how to play the game, done Master Mode Flashpoints (and some Raiding). Don't really care what you believe. I have just 1 account, and played the game off and on since it was in Beta. Believe what you will. Change is difficult for some people. Learn to adapt.
  9. Do not presume to speak for everyone, thank you very much. I much prefer the idea of "ability pruning", as the game is incredibly ability-bloated as is. I realize some people may want to keep all these abilities, but when some of the abilities does largely the same thing as other abilities, it's mostly a flavor of animation that sets them apart.
  10. Hard to really nail down just ONE suggestion for pvp changes. Most of which have already been mentioned in this thread. What I would like to see eventually, is a visual difference either when the queue "pops", or while loading, to show whether or not you'll be entering a Republic vs Empire match, or Republic vs Republic. This difference, could be as simple as calling a Republic vs Republic (Empire vs Empire) match, a Skirmish. While keeping the current naming (Warzones) for matches that have both factions. In closing, i'll simply add my support to the idea of a possible removal of all things called 'Expertise', and a re-tuning of how the 'Resolve' system works. Being stunned for 5 sec+ is not fun. 3 sec is more than enough, and should give a long duration (15-30 sec) immunity to ALL crowd controls. Maybe then, players would stop chain "cc-ing" the same player, and actually cc multiple players.
  11. You know, that analogy makes PERFECT sense? WoW = Iphone... Cracks, under pressure ( ) "Oh no, SWTOR is taking our subscribers..." *WoW subscription numbers drop another 5%*
  12. Unless you've actually SEEN the patch notes (which nobody outside of Bioware has), i'll just assume your statements are full of ****, and sit calmly and wait for official information instead. Now everyone... calm the f--k down
  13. Well said, Craftamancer. I have Cybertech on my main character, and yes while it currently is rather lackluster at Endgame, I have no problems holding onto the crew skill until further notice. With all the "across the board" changes coming to Crafting in 1.2, I have no doubt Cybertech will be changed around a bit as well. - Grenades with shorter cooldown (more useful than current) - Speeders purchase cost increased + crafted speeders made BoE - "Gadgets" and gizmos which have yet to be announced Cybertech is the "Engineering" skill of SWTOR. It's usefulness is primarily for utility reasons, or in the case of mods/armoring, a credit saver. Yes, currently the mods/armoring aren't equal to what is purchasable with Daily Commendations, and it's definitely sub-par compared to the items found in Operation gear. But i'm relatively certain, this will change in due time. I can think of any number of additions which could prove quite useful, if implemented: - Kolto Grenades (Healing, re-usable. Similar to Biochem) - Mobile Repair Droids (useful in Flashpoints/Operations) - Additional speeder types (possibly even 2-seaters?!?) These are just a few possibilities. Instead of going with the "flavor of the month" that is Biochem, i'll stick it out with Cybertech for the time being. I'm not in any dire need for credits, and the things it already provides me with, is adequate for my play-style.
  14. Elitism = Related to Elite, which in turn is related to Best. So your argument kinda falls flat on it's face here. I do realize, some tend to use the word "Elitist" as a bad thing. I never said it was. You on the other hand, suggested it when you turn around and call me elitist. If I were, I'd be part of a "Hardcore raiding guild", that does nothing BUT raid, 7 days a week, on the highest difficulty (Nightmare) mode. And no, I am not Ensidia or [insert name] hardcore super elite raiding guild. Might wanna check up what Elitist/Elitism actually means, before accusing people of being such things.
  15. Pulled. Not abandoned. Who knows, the feature might return some day... "Chest color matching" is making a return in 1.2, and from what I hear, vastly improved over the beta version. (which is to be expected)
  16. Here's how it REALLY goes: normal = Beginner Mode hard = Experienced Mode nightmare = Elitist Mode To the "vast majority" of raiders, I believe Hard Mode is more than adequate. Only the "elitists" at the very top, partake in Nightmare Mode. Which is fine. The ones who do Nightmare Mode, I assume are also the "top 1% who run through all the latest raiding content, in a matter of days/weeks. I never said that me, or the guild I raid with was "terribad" for having run Normal Mode Karagga's Palace. As I said before, some of us had never done the place, and as such wasn't sure what to expect. The guild has full intentions to set their sights on Hard Mode runs only, within a week or so. I'm in a rather casual guild after all, so I don't expect to be running Nightmare Mode anytime soon.
  17. Did a full run through Karagga's Palace (Normal anyways), and we were atleast 3 Melee (2 dps + 1 tank). Went off without any major issues (the occasional death due to some of us never having done that place before). Must be a bunch of "min/maxing elitist jerks" who believe that x class is a liability, quite possibly due to a misconception that x does too little damage, or has too low survivability. The fact is, all classes in their current form are more than capable in any facet of the game. And 1.2 is bringing a rebalance in some areas...
  18. Not all non-patch maintenance days, have lasted 8 hours in the past. I have no doubt, tomorrow will be no different.
  19. An overwhelming majority of the people who voted in the poll (currently 74% to 26%), favor the method described by Bioware, that is an "Out of game, personal combat log". I agree 100% with Bioware's decision on how to make the "Combat Log". In the end, the only things I care about are: Did the enemy die? If Yes, good on you. If No, what killed me?
  20. Perhaps I was a bit harsh when I said "Do not question WHY things are like this..." The point is, the current "death penalty" in SWTOR is incredibly lenient compared to other MMOs. And as already stated, the "Medical Probe" timer, resets after a certain amount of time, and only increases if you die repeatedly in a short span of time. In conclusion: Quit dying so often, or ask your group-members to revive you
  21. Thank you. That alone, was a much harsher death penalty than the penalty that Bioware has in SWTOR. Granted, you only got "Res Sickness" if you revived at the Spirit Healer. Which is why "in my day", many did the long trek a la "corpse run" to get revived, to avoid the resurrection sickness. That debuff (for those who don't know), reduced ALL STATS by a large percentage, as well as DAMAGE DEALT by a considerable amount, for a 10 minute duration. Be grateful for the convenience of having the Medical Probe, and do not question "Why" they have it the way it is.
  22. I suppose you prefer the WoW method? 1. Die 2. Release 3. Run to corpse 4. Revive or... 1. Die 2. Release 3. Talk to Spirit Healer 4. Revive (usually distant from where your corpse was) Atleast, Bioware has been clever enough to give players the OPTION to use the Medical Probe, but it also has limitations, in that you can't die repeatedly in a short span of time. For every death, the timer is increased. After a certain amount of time, the timer is reset. Unless you go to the nearest Medical Droid that is.
  23. I believe hearing during the Guild Summit, that the gift cooldown will indeed be removed in 1.2, and the gifts will be stackable. HOORAY!
  24. Read AGAIN! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3330002#edit3330002 Need to know it some more? http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3330002#edit3330002 And lastly... http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3330002#edit3330002 If you still can't see the above links, then don't let the door hit you on the way out.
