  1. I just met up with her the other day on my scoundrel. I liked her from the get go. The attitude and how she flys off the handle really fits her look and the fact that she is a Mandalorian. I'm looking forward to finishing up Balmorra so I can start running with her. I may even start using her over my trusty meat shield, Corso.
  2. I personally find the restrictions to be a bit much, but I will just unlock what I want and then stop paying. One restriction that I find is especially bad is the field revives. This one can negatively impact playing players. I remember running a 4 man heroic with some other players who were non-subscribers. They died and had used up their field revives. They died right near the mobs that killed us. They had to run back as a result. Sucks for them? Sucks for all of us. We had to wait. Pretty lame. Also, I would like to see an unlock for credit cap. I understand that it is likely not their for the purposes of making money off credit farmers (you aren't really going to stop them by making a 350k limit on f2p accounts) but it would be nice to be able to remove the cap or raise it. A third item I would suggest is the 3 space mission per week limit. If you are going to limit something, it needs to be solid enough for people to want to buy an unlock. Space is not good enough to really be worth paying a sub or buying a weekly unlock. Good things I think are the FP loot limit. I like that I can still run them, just only get 3 loot rolls. I'm curious what that entails if I solo a FP. I never played for the end game, only for the story, but I like crafting and having good mods, so i'll pay for a few things. I'm relatively satisfied by the moslty money-grab cash shop. One more thing... Fix the issue where you occasionally log in and it limits you like a f2p. I'm a subscriber (for now) and premium if not. I should never be prompted to "pick one tradeskill". I also end up having to redo all my bars and pick up my jawa and other rewards from the mail...again. I think I have been granted the founder title three times on one character. Ultimate feedback on F2P. Fix bugs like that which will scare off potential subscribers.
  3. After reviewing the Free, Preferred, Subscriber options and what is for sale on the Cartel Shop, I feel like EA micro-transacted the crap out of this game. Some of the choices leave a bad taste in my mouth: Quick slots - you do want people to be able to enjoy the game to entice them to pay right? At least this was upped to two. It is playable as such. Title and Legacy display - this is one of those things I felt was just a money grab Crew skills - not much more than a means of earning credits if you are only allowed one, considering you need three to actually craft things independent of others. Hide Helmet/Unify colours - another cash grab? Space missions - was space on rails really that exciting that people will pay to do more than three a week? Aside from these ones, I felt that most of the cash shop choices were good. Let them run flash points, limit the loot they get was good. No access to ops seems fair. Race choices but not class choices limited. Gear limits. Seems appropriate. Personally, I reupped to get my coins to unlock crew skills. I can suffer with two quickslot bars. I may keep it up as i missed the game a bit. That being said, I only considered returning to play out the class stories across the board. I hope that EA decides to loosen up on a few of the more cash grabby items on the shop, but if not, at least I can enjoy the game I bought as a single player game for free. Thanks for making the transition.
  4. I resubbed for the points. I figured it will give me enough to either get a third trade skill across my account or another quickslot. I decided spending $15 was worth it to make the F2P playable. I havent decided if I will keep the sub up or not. Also, it gave me a chance to roll a bunch of toons from races I would not have access to on F2P.
  5. I played a bit last night and using GF for FPs and Ops seems straightforward. How does the heroic part work. I was able to pick a planet, now what? All it seemed to do for me is make it so I had to leave queue when I was trying to invite another player to do a H2 on DK. Anyone understand how this aspect of the GF tool works?
  6. Havent tried it, seeing as I have to work all day. Looking at the posts in this thread it seems like people will never be satisified. Seeing comments of it takes too long seems silly seeing as before you needed to spam in chat on the fleet to get a group. Now it sounds like you can play along with your story and let a group pop. For 50s they may not have any content left to level through but they can still craft or explore or pvp and let the tool do the finding. I sense the entitlement that WoW introduced with such conveniences is only just beginning to show its ugly face.
  7. I'm curious about this too. Haven't logged in yet. Is all orange gear now adaptable or just the social items?
  8. Reiterating the above posters, this is definitely not Galaxies or anything like it. Galaxies is a sandbox with content being player driven. This is a story driven themepark. If you are looking for Galaxies, there are a few good emulator projects like SWGEMU (pre-CU), SWGANH, ProjectSWG (NGE) which are in various stages of development. The story of this game is engaging, but if you are not into being a set role/class or having your story laid out for you, then themepark is not for you.
  9. I would be wary of turning off your computer to exit the game. Thats a good way to potentially create corruption in your game files. I recall that they are very fussy about that which can result in having to sit through a long repair or possibly reinstall the game. I could be mistaken. In general though, it is not a good idea to flip off your computer without a proper shutdown, unless one of your hobbies is reinstalling operating systems
  10. Consular did not grab my interest at all. The Tython part is nice (the forge battle is more convincing than the one for the JK. Where did that thing come from?) I lost interest after I got to Nar Shadaa. Trooper is good, though others have said it trails off after Act 1. I find it is not as interesting after that point, though it is still better than JC
  11. Imperial Agent. I enjoy the female voice acting. The male is appropriate, but his nasal sounding accent gets annoying after a while. BH male is the best IMO. JC sounds terrible and poorly done. Smuggler is well done with the male being the better of the two. Male Trooper is good Female SW is awesome. Havent played any of the others much.
  12. Star Wars Saga vs. Kung Fu Panda /debate
  13. Right off the bat I would say Jedi Knight. They have two companions prior to completing Coruscant and getting a ship, then they have their third. Refer to the link above for when their next comes along. Consular doesnt get a third until Nar Shadaa. Trooper has 4 by that time. Smuggler has its third on Nar Shaddaa as well.
  14. There is no courting level as far as your character is concerned. The levels on gifts are labels based on the tier of gift. You will get more affection from higher tiers. From my understanding, you need to be in a relationship with your companion to start using courting gifts. When this occurs is based on how far along in the companion conversation quests you get and what choices you make, I believe.
  15. If it is the same as Republic side, look for the speeder vendor (who is coincidentally surrounded by speeders) as they share the same vendor room. There is a starship upgrades vendor who sells the usual fair and another Starship upgrades vendor who sells items with Fleet coms. This includes storage cases, a pilot suit, special items for the ship (EMP and what not) as well as other items (not confirmed but I'm guessing a vanity pet and vehicle are in there as well).
  16. The crafting and resources were well implemented in SWG. Nothing like discovering the best X material in 2 years and racing to get the best location and plant harvesters. I did find the harvesting to be a bit dreary at times. I had 7-8 friends who let me log in and use their spare lots to harvest. Moving the whole fleet could take a few hours to accomplish. Being able to really customize your craft was brilliant. Brand names were established. You could be a discount bin vendor selling cheap quality crap or be the best of the best spending tons of credits for the best materials and turning around and making a ridiculous profit based on your name. Level-based is where the market is at. The skill point system was fun but the sand-box style of the game took away a huge market share. The systems were good, but content was mostly player generated through our imaginations and resourcefullness. Such a thing is not sustainable in the age of "I want it now". Good potential was what SWG had. All it needed was more content to solidify it and for it not to fall prey to the WoW juggernaut and try to be level based. Even without the NGE/CU changes, they would've ended up dwindling eventually.
  17. I noticed this too. At that point in the story you would have only run into and killed Needles. I think its a continuity error. Gearbox is still alive unless someone else got him.
  18. Entries are not based on numbers killed. Often you have to kill a rare one. Some are unlocked by walking up to certain ones. Some are unlocked from looking at a clickable corpse. There are some which unlock on the first kill of that type of beast though. Explore and kill stuff and you may unlock it.
  19. I'm going to give a C. The pre-launch guild creation was brilliant from the standpoint of managing numbers on servers. Pre-orders factored into this too. Given they could manage chunks of players and knew how many would be able to play as of yesterday, they should have juggled server populations a bit better. The fact that so many servers have ridiculous queues to me indicates that they are capping them to play it safe for no crashes this week, or they didn't do the math right. I expected a bit more out of the stress testing and the data that was available based on pre-orders. Not a complete fail. Once I am in things run pretty smooth. A few familiar bugs from the last build or two of beta. I'll just count myself "lucky" that my guild ended up on a server with only 15-20 minute queues...
