  1. Aye Sony is offering Double Station Cash for all purchases all day today for Black Friday. Bioware and all F2P companies really should look at Sony on how to run a successful F2P environment. For all of Smedley's downfalls if he knows one thing its how to squeeze money out of his users and their marketplace is filled with stuff that people go crazy over! I currently play EQ1, EQ2, and Vanguard and I dont know a single person in all those game that doesnt frequently buy Station Cash and use it to buy stuff in game. Having Double Station Cash or even Triple Station Cash deals on holidays just makes people want to buy more. I bought 100 dollars worth of Station Cash a few months ago when it was Triple Station Cash. Yea I got Triple the points for it, but thats an extra 100 bucks that Sony woulda never gotten from me had they not done a Triple Station Cash offer. I didn't expect Bioware to do a "sale" on cartel coins cause it was so new, but by Christmas I would expect to see some sort of a special deal. Pretty much all other F2P MMO's do it, Bioware would be stupid not to follow suit... Oh wait...we are talking about Bioware - disregard this post lol.
  2. Ill throw mine in: Leveling: 8/10 - the leveling is actually fairly good but it gets really repetitive 40+ and the bugs become much more evident.. End-Game: 3/10 - This game has one of if not the worst End-Game I have seen in an MMO ...maybe ever...I have never unsubbed an MMO during my free month and have ALWAYS given the devs at LEAST 1 more month past my free month...I unsubbed SWTOR a week after hitting 50...its that bad....
  3. My Cybertech is 400 and I found it completely useless. At 50 there is no Orange gear and the gear comes Pre-Modded...having to make a ton of blues to get to the purples takes alot of money and time and by the time you got that done you could have just gotten purple gear thats better than the mods. It was a complete waste of money and I should have never taken it.... Another example of how Bioware completely screwed up with SWTOR...
  4. Except a coin only has 2 outcomes and thus - hitting 7 times in a row is not out of the realm of possibility - a Bag has up to at least 8 combinations - making getting the same item 5 times in a row almost impossible assuming all 8 items have the same probability of dropping - obviously, they dont which is whatever, maybe thats how Bioware intended it...
  5. Assuming every item has an equal chance to be drawn and there is a chance of no item dropping meaning there is a 1/8th outcome to the draw.. So your looking at 1/8*1/8th = .125*.125 = .015 = 1.5% Now lets go further .125*.125*.125*.125*.125 = .0000305 or .00305% chance... Which is basically a mathematical impossibility... What does this mean? Not all items have an equal chance of dropping So you answered the question with your own question...Should it be looked into? I dunno, it depends on if Bioware wants it to be that way...
  6. I hit 50 a couple weeks ago and I havent logged in in over a week. Last weekend I logged in a couple times to try and finish my dailies, but after 15-20 minutes I became so bored to death that I just logged off... /sigh - I really was hoping that this was gonna be the next "big" MMO thing - but just like AoC, Warhammer, and FFIX its just another big let down. Oh well, Kingdoms of Amalaur looks amazing!
  7. See we know your lying because its not possibly (Just short of submerging your PC in liquid) to have your GPU/CPU run at 28C - I'd be willing to bet your idle temp is around 45-55C...
  8. because there are not other instances...there are 22 people on belsavis and thats it... You can see the instances a zone has by clicking your map and looking in the bottom right corner it will have a drop down box to change instances - No box, only 1 instance.. The problem isnt the instances - Its that there really is only 20-30 in the zone...
  9. They don't have over a million subscribers - they have over a million FREE players... People bought the game, tried it out, and are quiting because its just not that good...
  10. Yes, I was in a great guild - we were one of the first guilds in the world to walk into MC and start downing bosses... But that just goes to show you that if it took guilds that were really really good 1-2 months to complete MC (And after that 1-2 months we still had to keep running it to gear people and then they released BWL that took even longer than MC) then it took guilds not quite as good even longer... What I am saying is that there was end-game content that took a long time to do - SWTOR does not have this and that is why people at 50 seem to be leaving in droves (At least on my server...)
  11. And thats space missions for you.. Don't worry though! After level 40 there are no new space missions
  12. +1 Again.. See that's the difference in WoW's early end-game and SWTOR's. Gearing in WoW took time and effort. You had to farm Scholo/LBRS to get gear fro UBRS then farm UBRS to get gear for Molten Core/Onyxia then you had to farm gear WITHIN MC/Ony to get passed Baron Geddon and do the rest of MC.. This gearing process took months to accomplish for guilds and by having this process it gave you SOMETHING TO DO at lvl 50 that made you want to log in and try for... SWTOR...You get the best gear by running pvp that you can do by yourself and takes almost no time to do... No one runs flashpoints because they are too hard for the gear they drop (Hardmodes that are actually pretty tuff and make you want to bash your head in drop BLUE 126 Gear - where as winning 3 pvp matches a day can give you a PUPRLE 136 gear...I wonder why no one does Hard Modes??) There is no Gear progression - there is no end-game and End-game is what keeps people subbing - except for the weird people who have 18 alts and frankly, no one likes those anti-social people anyway...
  13. except no one will ever do that Flashpoint (Wait till 50 and you will understand why no one does flashpoints...) and those extra bosses will take about an hour at most to finish... When you can finish all content at end-game in about 3-4 hours a week...There is very little to do...except sit and grind out pvp all day long... Here comes a WoW reference: WoW only had 1 raid at the start, MC - but that raid was tuff - MOST guilds doing Molten Core took multiple days just to complete it if you could even complete it and learning those raids took weeks/months for most guilds just to be able to down all the bosses - This left fresh content to work on multiple times a week (10+ hours a week) for the first couple months of release. SWTOR's raid content is so easy that it takes 3 hours to complete it with a PUG and then you have nothing else to do.
  14. The OP is completely correct - there is a serious heat issue with this game when VSYNC is turned off. MY GPU Temps run hotter in SWTOR than any other game on the market by a good 10 degrees when VSYNC is off and the same goes for every other person I know that plays - people who claim it doesn't are either running extremely low settings, have Vsync on, or just don't know how to monitor their PC's temps correctly. Yes, it is a problem - Yes, it needs to be fixed - but for now just turn VSYNC on until its fixed...
  15. I can see how he came to a 9.0 score...if you know anything about IGN scores a 9.0 is at most a "good" game...nothing great about a 9.0 score... That being said, I think he was way lenient on the bugs and general lack of things to do at lvl 50 and focused almost his entire review on the leveling process (Which is not what an MMO is about...well except SWTOR which is a Single Player Co-op game). I think for an IGN score when taken in bugs and general lack of everything an 8.0 would have been more appropriate, but meh, I guess I can see how he got a 9.0.
  16. EQ had almost no quests for years and what they did have was definitely not for leveling...just because it was called "Everquest" doesn't mean it actually had quest leveling. It was all grind leveling... Oh and EQ > The other 2...
  17. you sir, get a +1 just for saying Shadowbane Unfortunately no one here knows what else you are talking about lol!
  18. Just because a game has issues doesn't mean it was a bad game. When WoW was released there was nothing else like it in the MMO field and that made it special, new, exciting, and fun. Sure it had problems - but the game itself made up for those problems. SWOTR, unfortunately, does not have the game behind it to make up for its flaws...the ONLY special thing about SWTOR is voice acting and for many people (Myself included) I find it money thrown down the drain that could have been spent on making a better game itself. May 1999 - 2001 Everquest was my favorite time ever in an MMO - I say May because March and April were really really ruff for EQ1 if you played on launch - but after May the game was pretty stable and it was the most exciting game I have ever played in my life...I still, to this very day, have so many fond memories of EQ1 that I still think about it every few days and how amazing that time was for gaming.
  19. A Dungeon Finder would help but it doesn't matter.. Until Bioware actually makes running the Hard Modes worth running then no one will do them. No one does them because the gear from them is terrible when compared to the easier method of obtaining BETTER gear - PvP... Why put yourself through a Hard Mode that requires already being pretty geared out for worse gear than you can get just running pvp? This is why you can't find groups...If the Hard Modes awarded gear on par with the pvp gear (IE Nerf PvP Gear or raise Hard Mode to be on Par and then raise Raid Gear) then more people would run them.
  20. I liked FF10's story and Auron is still one of the best characters in the FF series but the best FF to be released since FF6 is, of course, FF9... They need to make FF's more like FF9 (Which in turn was purposefully made to be more like FF1-6 and less like FF7/8)
  21. I'm a school teacher and was off for 3 weeks during holiday's... Yea, I know, it sucks I get paid to sit at home playing games for about 100 days that you have to work
  22. I love my 580 and yes that should be your choice.
  23. pretty much... Oh and this has been in game for months now...not 3 days...
